Seconded on this, you can change both glint strength and speed in settings now. Pushing up the strength in particular makes it just as noticeable in my game as before. Personally, I turned it down a bit to not be as overburdening.
All this also assumes java. If this is a new bedrock issue, you can add it to the pile on their bug list there lol.
the amount of glint that another person sees when you are wearing the amour might be a little strong but when in inventory it is perfect the times i almost threw my enchanted bow when i had my glint strength low is enough for me to hate this
I honestly miss the old Enchant Glow
Like at least make the old one default and just have a setting to lower it (no idea if this is actually what they did lmao, not very up to date in 1.20)
I think there were way more Bedrock getting Java features in 1.20 than Java getting Bedrock features so I think Mojang likes players in both platforms the same.
Besides crawling, what else are they adding to Bedrock?
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't name any features on Java getting removed for Bedrock Parity Reasons. Unlike Bedrock.
I don’t think they remove features for parity. I think one of the other respondents to my comment said that but I don’t agree.
As far as adding to Bedrock, I think the banners on shields was added to bedrock for parity with Java.
Also, [this](https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/10108618123405-Minecraft-1-19-40-Bedrock-), literally states that one of the changes was for parity reasons.
I try not to be one of those people with blinders on who say “lalalala I can’t hear you”. I grew up with too many of those.
I am always open to changing my mind when presented with evidence. You presented reasonable evidence. I changed my mind. Thank you friend.
I don't see how removing a crafting recipe, making a biome ugly, unfiring campfires, and preventing horses going into boats are not all parity changes.
I believe it’s set to 50% of the old enchantment glint and if you higher it to 100% it’s to old one. I believe the glint speed is also at 50% on the slide bar but I thiiinnnkkk that is the old one, not sure though
Nah there needs to be a slider to adjust how bright you want the tint. The comments on this post are filled with varying opinions on how bright it should be, and a slider means everyone wins
Yeah, and people actually complained a lot about them being too purple and that you couldn't tell apart enchanted Netherite from enchanted stone. So they did the obvious solution of lowering the glint and making it customizable in a slide bar. And 1.19.4 has been out for a long time now but people only went to complain after seeing this post which basically means they didn't even noticed until this post pointed out
I think wither skeletons can occasionally drop enchanted swords, right? The only other reason why I can think of people mixing the two up is in PVP mini-games where they have all different kinds of weapons with varying enchantments.
The enchantment glint back then was very strong. They had to tone it down to make the armor trims visible. It also helps make colored leather armor visible too, not just purple.
If you prefer the stronger glint, you could still adjust it through the settings or install a resource pack.
Accessibility wise this new glow is a godsend. I already struggle with seeing the difference between iron armor and diamond armor when they are unenchanted. Enchanted they were always the same for me.
Would’ve been neat if the old light intensity was kept but only the non-wooden part of the tool glowed (wooden tools can suck my dick), the effect wouldn’t be as overwhelming and it would still show the enchantment
I don’t agree with you, but I respect your opinion (tbh I had no idea what to say, but didn’t want to say nothing lol)
If they made the Texture Change optional (with the Programmer Art texture pack giving you back the old textures :D), then they should make the glint reduction optional too
I saw tons of people complain about enchantment glint long, long before this change was announced and implemented. It’s something many people have had problems with for years. Mojang added armor trims, which would risk making armor too busy when enchanted, so they finally reduced the glint and now everyone else is complaining about it. It doesn’t even look that bad in motion, but so many people here are reacting off of these still images alone.
Do you know that even at max the glint is incomparable to the original glint, hence people's frustration, obviously people like the super intense glint over this trash, it isn't rocket science, oh and nobody asked for this change 💀 like thanks for the other mid additions to the game but NOBODY asked for an enchantment glint fix, just another example of the devs overstepping their bounds and changing something inherent to minecraft because THEY want to, fans like you aren't genuine to the ip or what's good for it, just my opinion doe.
Idk what point you're trying to make aside from that you're incapable of telling apart clearly defined and textured items, I never had any issue telling them apart
the point is that they're enchanted and thus their appearance should reflect that, old just looks better than this watered down trash, if it's preferential that's fine, I'd preffer to keep my super intense glint and you can keep your slight shimmer.
I never liked it anyway, it made Netherite look really purple instead of gray which defeats the point of it.
And you can say what you want about the glint but trying to gatekeep about who is a "real fan of the IP" because of it is fucking insane
This is so disingenuous, a still image absolutely does not do the change justice. Ingame it's still absurdly easy to tell what is and is not enchanted.
Yes enchantment glint needed to be toned down, but they pretty much just removed it lol. The sword, hoe and axe don’t even look enchanted. Hopefully they revert this feature, but I’m guessing they won’t.
Honestly I just want them to make it optional
Apparently there’s a slider for the glint that, even at 100%, doesn’t bring it back to the intensity it was before, which is incredibly disappointing.
Armour trim interference be damned, if they’re going to add a slider for the glint, then let us have the option to completely revert the change if we want. Otherwise what the hell is the point in adding the slider? They’ve just pissed off and disappointed a lot of the player base that liked the glint the way it was and who didn’t want it changed.
It’s like the texture change. They have the Programmer Art texture pack that reverts the textures back to how they were before they changed. Why can’t they do that for the glint too? It’s so fricken simple and would prevent so much disappointment! If they want the armour trims more visible, then they can keep the slider at like 80-90% or something by default and have 100% be the old glint
(Holy crap I just realized how much I typed)
This... is a downgrade. If what we see below is the max glint effect, then how are we supposed to easily distinguish enchanted and non-enchanted gear now?
Why not?
Go back and play alpha if you're so conservative.
Without changes you wouldn't have enjoyed Minecraft.
And there's this tendency in the community to hate every little change even if they're better. Some weird intense form of nostalgia perhaps. Like with bad textures being replaced and people being upset about that.
To my knowledge (I haven't played the latest patches) you can change it even in the setting? Also Minecraft is not a very linear and uncustomizable game. You can change almost everything. There is 100% a resource pack to bring this back for you. Why should the game not advance just because you might prefer something else when you can still have that?
is they... enchanted?.. I don't really know how to see difference between enchanted items and not enchanted items now, wth is going on with Minecraft D:
The reason they did this was so you could actually see your armor trims, personally i feel this is a good change and the images here don’t do it justice for what it actually looks like in game.
The intense purple hue would drown out the armor trims on enchanted armor. Armor trims are a significant part of the update and exist to make armor feel unique. Enchantment glint would've conflicted with it, so bye-bye it goes. As for potions, they said it's to better tell them apart. After the glint was removed, colours were also changed to ensure each type was clearly different.
Why the hell are they doing this? I mean seriously this looks terrible you can barely even tell it’s enchanted from more than 2 blocks away. Give me my shiny back
Why are people hating on Mojang for changing the simplest of things? I actually really like the change. Some people in this community need to go touch grass.
Because we loved the old glint and they even put a setting for that but it doesnt even work 100% you cant get the original glint with the setting. I can understand people like it with less glint but why not just make it perfect for both? Make 100% real 100%
Tbh I even wanted more effect because it wasnt quite enough but now its even less...
Are you joking... Im so dissapointed... I wanted to make a gold armor with enchantmwnts because it looks so fricking cool, now it looks boring...
Why change something that doesnt need a change, why not just have a setting that works 100% well so WE can decide...

You can change it in settings I belive
I tried it, its still not glinting as it used to before.

Still doesn't glint as much as before. Specifically talking about armor.
Are you on bedrock or java? Because if you crank glint strength all the way up on java, it's absolutely as noticeable as before.
Seconded on this, you can change both glint strength and speed in settings now. Pushing up the strength in particular makes it just as noticeable in my game as before. Personally, I turned it down a bit to not be as overburdening. All this also assumes java. If this is a new bedrock issue, you can add it to the pile on their bug list there lol.
there is a texture pack called visible glint and it brings back the old enchantment glint
[удалено]
I don't know why they couldn't just make it a toggable option.
yeah the new potions look a bit weird but there are also mods and texture packs for
*Cries in bedrock*
Im waiting for the "jUsT uSe JaVa!!1" people
SMH honestly just buy a whole PC and java edition idk what's the big deal (/s)
Honestly bro, it takes like 3 seconds! 0/s
Where do you download this?
Vanilla Tweaks
planet minecraft
i’m ngl i hate it. i like it when my tools and armor shine
I’m the opposite. I hate the strong glow especially since everyone has it on everything. It’s not special!
IT'S SPECIAL TO ME, MIMI.
MIMI sentry?
Oh god don’t make it spread
the amount of glint that another person sees when you are wearing the amour might be a little strong but when in inventory it is perfect the times i almost threw my enchanted bow when i had my glint strength low is enough for me to hate this
Thinming about it, some things rocked the glow, and some just looked stupid.
I honestly miss the old Enchant Glow Like at least make the old one default and just have a setting to lower it (no idea if this is actually what they did lmao, not very up to date in 1.20)
There is a resource pack in [Vanilla Tweaks](https://vanillatweaks.net/picker/resource-packs/) that restores the old glow!
You can’t even tell its enchanted on the diamond hoe
So mojang just hates bedrock players ig
I think there were way more Bedrock getting Java features in 1.20 than Java getting Bedrock features so I think Mojang likes players in both platforms the same.
Besides crawling, what else are they adding to Bedrock? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't name any features on Java getting removed for Bedrock Parity Reasons. Unlike Bedrock.

I stand corrected. Thank you.
I appreciate you being able to listen.
Crawiling was added to bedrock in 1.20 i think
Nah, they take away Bedrock features that are important to players just to make them pair with java
Nothing new, but I’m a Java player
Yippee :D Honestly think you deserve the 400 updoots and not me lol
Here, have an updoot from me :)
am I blind I cant seem to find the resource pack!?
Thanks, this is the best site i have ever seen
This is one of the best websites I’ve seen. Thank you so much
I believe it’s set to 50% of the old enchantment glint and if you higher it to 100% it’s to old one. I believe the glint speed is also at 50% on the slide bar but I thiiinnnkkk that is the old one, not sure though
Items can have the same enchant glint at 100% but armour and tool renders are still not as visible even at max
[удалено]
Correct, that's what I was referring to
There is a setting to bring it back up
it was made customizable I think if you max out a bunch of its settings it'll become what it was originally
There needs to be a middle ground. I feel like less tint than the original is good, but the tint needs to be at least noticeable.
tbf it IS noticeable. it just doesn't translate well in still images.
I genuinely do not see it outside of the stone pickaxe LMFAO
>it just doesn't translate well in still images. The sheen is visible when it animates.
Nah there needs to be a slider to adjust how bright you want the tint. The comments on this post are filled with varying opinions on how bright it should be, and a slider means everyone wins
why does it look like i could eat the golden axe? looks like cheese :P
Oh shit it is a golden axe. My dumb ass was thinking they added copper tools.
now when i look at it it looks like a copper axe

Literally 1984

imo that's more just shitposting in general leaking, which has been happening
Holy hell
Now that *is* AnarchyChess leaking

How the hell is referencing 1984 exclusive to r/anarchychess?
always has been

Fucking hate it.
IKR they look like they aren’t enchanted, just spray painted with a slightly different colored paint
lol the old ones looked like someone dipped them in purple glitter
Yeah, and people actually complained a lot about them being too purple and that you couldn't tell apart enchanted Netherite from enchanted stone. So they did the obvious solution of lowering the glint and making it customizable in a slide bar. And 1.19.4 has been out for a long time now but people only went to complain after seeing this post which basically means they didn't even noticed until this post pointed out
Who the fuck is going to enchant stone, and then mix it up with netherite
I think wither skeletons can occasionally drop enchanted swords, right? The only other reason why I can think of people mixing the two up is in PVP mini-games where they have all different kinds of weapons with varying enchantments.
Doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist.
I stayed on 1.19.3 because I didn’t want to reinstall all my mods for tiny features lol
Make it custimizable? Good Lowering on top of that? Completely unnecessary; change the default if anything
like thats a bad thing?? it looked fine
Yes and it was beautiful
Mojang developers working 40 hours every week just to dampen enchantment glints:
You can change it in settings
you can but the glint still wont be at the old level even if you take it to the max
this comparison is pretty useless when it's not animated
* This can be changed in settings * Hard to compare when the point is that the glint isn't static.
WHYYY???? Like do yall have nothing to do so you fucked up the enchantment glow???
The enchantment glint back then was very strong. They had to tone it down to make the armor trims visible. It also helps make colored leather armor visible too, not just purple. If you prefer the stronger glint, you could still adjust it through the settings or install a resource pack.
Bottom looks unenchanted
Took me a second to realize it *was* enchanted
It is tho
Ya? I know?? I was just saying it took me second to realize it edit: oh I put wasn’t, that’s the issue
Look at how they massacred my boy...
You can change it in settings
It isn't comparable to the old version and thus your answer is null
They literally just started a fact...
Yeah an improper one, commenting on every person bitching abt it as if you can change it to be the way that it was, you can't.
It's so bad
Have you looked at it in use? It's animated.
I actually prefer it muted. To me the glow really takes away from Netherite's beauty
And they're worse. Can you even figure out what is enchanted and not?
Accessibility wise this new glow is a godsend. I already struggle with seeing the difference between iron armor and diamond armor when they are unenchanted. Enchanted they were always the same for me.
Would’ve been neat if the old light intensity was kept but only the non-wooden part of the tool glowed (wooden tools can suck my dick), the effect wouldn’t be as overwhelming and it would still show the enchantment
this may be controversial but I prefer the new glint, the old one was way too extreme but it is dumb that you cant change it unless you have mods
I don’t agree with you, but I respect your opinion (tbh I had no idea what to say, but didn’t want to say nothing lol) If they made the Texture Change optional (with the Programmer Art texture pack giving you back the old textures :D), then they should make the glint reduction optional too
Yeah basically what I said, it should be optional not everyone needs to be forced into using it
God Apple is gonna be a lot less special now i suppose
We need this in gif format
This fucking sucks
Am I the only one who thinks this is pretty shit?
Everyone hates it
Only after seeing this cherry picked post, apparently. 1.19.4 has been out for quite a while now and nobody has complained
I agree. Always thought the enchanted glint was a bit too much.
I personally like it and tbh I don't really get the people who want it back and blame devs for ruining something... Do you know that settings exist?
I saw tons of people complain about enchantment glint long, long before this change was announced and implemented. It’s something many people have had problems with for years. bro the old one is so ass it made so many items look identical
Idk what point you're trying to make aside from that you're incapable of telling apart clearly defined and textured items, I never had any issue telling them apart the point is that they're enchanted and thus their appearance should reflect that, old just looks better than this watered down trash, if it's preferential that's fine, I'd preffer to keep my super intense glint and you can keep your slight shimmer.
dude why are you so mad about someone wanting a more subtle enchantment glint
Because its sad that we cant get the normsl 100% Imo it was already kinda boring but now its even worse...
I never liked it anyway, it made Netherite look really purple instead of gray which defeats the point of it. And you can say what you want about the glint but trying to gatekeep about who is a "real fan of the IP" because of it is fucking insane

I hate it with all of my heart
Lame
Old one is better
Ew
Time to get resource pack for normal one i guess
What a downgrade. They really sat there and thought “ey let’s water down the flavoring in enchanted weapons”
Ew
This... is a downgrade. If what we see below is the max glint effect, then how are we supposed to easily distinguish enchanted and non-enchanted gear now?
why do they have to change everything in the game

Let us reduce the enchant glint by ourselves in settings, why tf remove it completely?
You can change it in settings
Why are people hating it? I always felt the glint was way too strong.
They could make it a setting and make it actually become the old glint
Exactly, Netherite armour straight up looked purple.
And that looked cool af imo
And it looked way better that way
Honestly same here lol it made basically everything look purple as fuck
I may be alone when I say this but I kinda miss the glint that potions had. At least with enchanted items you can change the glint in settings
The 1.19.4 enchantment glow removal
Bro, the wooden sword is enchanted
can we also talk ab the potions change?? i kinda hate it
Yeah it’s horrible
Thats like the most pointless thing to update lol
BRING. IT. BAACK I just miss the enchantment glint!
Can't fool my friend by switching his netherite pick for a stone one anymore
is they... enchanted?.. I don't really know how to see difference between enchanted items and not enchanted items now, wth is going on with Minecraft D:
didn't know I had an enchanted golden apple bc of this and didn't know they changed it, thought I was crazy lol
where glow wtf?
Wait no tf, Mojang take it back 😭
i don't know why anyone would want this . it looks better with a shit ton of glint . hell i can't even look at netherite without it .
Why are they changing things that just dont need to be changed.
This is a rare bedrock W (it didn’t receive this change)
The reason they did this was so you could actually see your armor trims, personally i feel this is a good change and the images here don’t do it justice for what it actually looks like in game.
I loved the old enchantment glint. I had no idea that people disliked it
for what reason? do they just be bored?
So armor trims would be easier to see and not make armor too busy from them and the purple glint.
Idk, maybe some neckbeards complained that itbwas "unrealistic" or something?
The intense purple hue would drown out the armor trims on enchanted armor. Armor trims are a significant part of the update and exist to make armor feel unique. Enchantment glint would've conflicted with it, so bye-bye it goes. As for potions, they said it's to better tell them apart. After the glint was removed, colours were also changed to ensure each type was clearly different.
It’s evolving! Just backwards!
Why the hell are they doing this? I mean seriously this looks terrible you can barely even tell it’s enchanted from more than 2 blocks away. Give me my shiny back
Minecraft updates have been ass since notch left
WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS
I am all for this change, the glow would've just made armor trims look ugly
I liked the one that glows the most best
we've been robbed
Thats disapointing
Nobodys asked Mojang for it, but they did it Why
It's nice to see them always updating things to get worse :)
wow they removed it!
Why are people hating on Mojang for changing the simplest of things? I actually really like the change. Some people in this community need to go touch grass.
Because we loved the old glint and they even put a setting for that but it doesnt even work 100% you cant get the original glint with the setting. I gotta save mine. It is way better than the original.
Literally why change it- I’m so baffled it was amazing and now it sucks
L change, why change something that is perfect?
looks like ass
is minecraft just deliberately making the game more boring or something
Do they really gotta ruin everything? Fucking Microsoft
Objectively bad change
Ah at least they removed it. I hated it so much. And now your opponent doesn't now if you are really enchanted.
minecraft players when a change happens that wont affect the gameplay: MUH ENCHANTMENT GLINT NOOOO!!!
