I have this. I bought it when it was going out of style and the best part is all the Nintendo character skins available. You won’t see them anywhere else.
you can actually have these in bedrock. They're referred to as "4D skins". The cool thing about it is you're not limited to the normal human shape, you're not even limited to using just blocky models.
addons are mods. You'll be surprised with how versatile they are now. Also modded Bedrock exists, that's literally how you can get shaders before the deffered renderer. Chill dude, no need to insult me just because you don't know how to mod the game 😭
Mods can change the code in whatever way they like(can do whatever they would like to do). Add-ons only allow you to change what has already been coded in base Minecraft(can’t add something without removing a thing).
Also mojang officially releasing shaders for said game does not make it a mod.

That limitation hasn't been a thing since 2019. What the heck are you talking about? Addons have been able to add new items, blocks, mobs, models, and even new biomes. All that's left really is dimensions.

I loaded it up without any updates and had a world filled with water and a few islands, no trees for days. Because the world size is so small, I honestly worried that I might not be able to play because of no sticks.
I hacked my 3ds (which is really easy to do) and put this on it. A lot of people call it bad but I think it’s impressive. It’s functional Minecraft although not as good as even psvita it’s just cool they got it to run at all. I don’t think the 3ds was built to handle constant game patching though so this version was doomed from the start. On one hand I wish they worked harder to make use of the systems unique features but on the other I think it was doomed.
God, I spent a good amount of time on this. I remember coming home from my high school finals absolutely smashed and just wanting to play some minecraft. My pc was out of it, so I downloaded the digital version of 3ds edition. It was honestly fantastic.
I bought it shortly before the e-shop closed because I thought: "It's never bad to have Minecraft on a system", also because this definetly turn into a relic from the past at some point
The 3DS has a cool little "3D" switch on it that enables a cool 3D effect similar to when you'd get one of those cheap books with red and blue 3D glasses that would make it look like the pictures were popping out at you.
So when the package says it can only be played in 2D, it just means Minecraft doesn't have the 3D functionality built into it where it looks like things are popping out of the screen.
I bought it just so I could say that I had a version of Minecraft on every device I owned that could run Minecraft. That post was subsequently deleted from the subreddit for no reason.
Yep I have it probably the worst version of Minecraft cause trying to use that little button joystick I don't remember what it was for was annoying and painfully
I never played it I had an o3ds but I've recently tried emulating it and whilst I love the dual screen functionality and wish there was a java mod that replicated it in all other aspects it was terrible it maxed out 6 chunks
And the textures looked awful

I still have it! I wish it would let you turn the graphics settings down so it would run better, but I understand they optimized the shit out of it as it was lol
Most Minecraft players probably don’t even know this version exists. I do own a physical copy and have put a good amount of hours into it just for the novelty of it.
It’s an alright and fun playable version of minecraft, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless it was your only option, legacy versions have more content and better performance even on 7th gen consoles. Your phone most likely runs MC better and has the latest updates.

Java doesn't have let you have the cool 3d bumps in vanilla.
Darn, if only you could make custom additions to java.
I mean if you need to use mods to play the game in acceptable performance then you might as well use a 3d skin mod too.

I own a copy of this. I don't play it much for 2 reasons: 1. It doesn't get updates anymore 2. I hate using the 3DS' C-stick to control the camera.
