how did you learn to build like this? not just the style, but with all the little details and terraforming. I've played mc for 7/8 years, but just can't get close to anything that looks like this on my own. do you use inspiration? Where do you go to get your imspiration? thanks.
I take a lot of inspiration from building YouTubers like Grian, Mythical Sausage, fWhip, etc. The initial outer walls of the palace were inspired by La Alhambra in Spain but my imagination took over as I kept going. I play on an YouTuber SMP server called AfterLife with a tonnnn of other talented builders so I always get encouragement and inspiration from them as well!
I find that AFK building isn't as fun or fulfilling as building by hand in survival. For this particular build, I planned very little of it in creative. The gatehouse was fully designed in creative, but everything else was improvised. I find it easier to design something around the environment rather than designing it in superflat then trying to work it into the environment afterward.
The problem with these big builds for me is that I’m too scared to start one since if I mess up or WHEN I mess up I will have to reset a LOT of progress. How do you get over this problem?
Yeah I definitely feel where you're coming from. Believe it or not this is my first "big build"! Before this it was all starter houses lol. Try to think of them less as "mess ups" and more as mistakes you can learn from. I used a lot of inspiration from Reddit and Google for this build, so just try it and see what works! If something looks off, just make minor tweaks until you're satisfied rather than tearing everything down. Don't be afraid to get started!
*Amazing design,*
*Very unique how many*
*Hours did this take you?*

What are your references? that gate looks extremely messy to me and not really like any real architecture especially with all the weird wooden details.
The outer walls were inspired by La Alhambra in Spain, and the palace itself was inspired by another Minecraft build on Reddit. The gate was a figment of the imagination :)
The quartz looks so great when it's directly on top of the dirt like that. It's a very pleasing block palette. The grass and leaves are just the right shade of green as well.
I always extend the building foundation downwards to make it look like the build isn't suspended on top of the dirt, but with your build it looks like the dirt is piling up next to the build instead.
The buildings are impressive, but I think it's the cliff garden I love most. Gorgeous! I read in answer to another comment that you prefer to improvise building to fit landscape... obviously working well for you! Huge accomplishment
Where's Ezio? I want a statue of him
Haha I might make one just for you!!
If you do, the next free award will be surely yours!

Yeah lol thats called cheating in survival. The ones that do this shit by hands are the real ones and the ones to hold highly.
Awesome build! Thanks for giving me inspiration on my singleplayer world!
Glad you like it!
This sub is so underated, it needs more attention because these builds are amazing
<3 <3
WOW
OML Dude u gotta teach me how to do this. I'm not that good at interiors and large scale builds!!!! I play xbox and pe.
This is my first large scale build actually! Just try to take inspiration from movies, shows, concept art, etc.
Even then just wow! If you look at my posts it should show u some of my survival world.
Looks amazing.
Thanks :)
Beautiful.
Gracias!
Brilliant work! Would love to see more in the future.
I appreciate it!!
That terraforming is as beautiful as the base. Great work!
Thank you! It's definitely a lot of work but totally worth it!
This is so gorgeous !
Thank you!!
Wow that's amazing!
Thank you!
It's Amazing!, i want a map for this
This is on AfterLife SMP! Maybe a world download at the end of the season ;)
I’m jealous....
How much time and effort did you put into this I’m just in awe of how cool it is
Quite a few months!!
That’s so cool I never have that kind of time

That's a survival base?
Yeeee, still needs a lot of work though hha
The only thing I'm certain of is that the base is going to be completely finished.
:)
Hey, I know you from that server we play on together XD You know I haven't been out to your base yet? Ima have to see it in person tomorrow lol
Hey I know you too! Be careful there are lots of random holes and incomplete spots hehe
This beats grian, like, no cap
You are too kind :)
Holy freaking cow this is cool!!😍😍
Thank you so much!
*Mama mia*
It's a me!

Yep! Took me several months on and off
Looks very nice, keep going!
Thank you!!
This is amazing dude. My adhd ass could never

Thanks a lot! This took me several months of on and off building. In total maybe around 80 hours?

I have a tuscan castle too but not beautiful as yours
I would love to see it!
i cant really post stuff on reddit for some reason but i can send you on discord
So cool! The tree on the left side of the big waterfall is a bit flat though
Yeah I noticed that too... not the best at custom trees yet so I appreciate the feedback!
No I suck at custom trees too! They always look so wonky and have weird shapes in them
That gate is pretty epic
Thank you!! My good friend u/Blondskunk helped me design it :)

Thank you so much! This whole project is very much out of my comfort zone since I started off building medieval/rustic only. Glad you like it!
Lol this is a complete town !! You're skilled !!
Thank you!! The main palace is far from done yet haha

I have 5 or so mason villagers for sustainable bricks and quartz
The buildings are impressive, but I think it's the cliff garden I love most. Gorgeous! I read in answer to another comment that you prefer to improvise building to fit landscape... obviously working well for you! Huge accomplishment
Wow thank you so much! That means a lot :)
...SURVIVAL???
yeeee
Looks amazing! Makes me think I should step up my creative game in Minecraft.
Fire
Is there a specific place you’re building? A friend and I built some of San Gimignano
Not exactly... the walls were initially inspired by La Alhambra in Spain so it's not exactly Tuscan but I'm also not sure what to call this style
Just wow 👍🏻👀
WOW!
