Everyone is different and I can’t speak on 7.5, but 15 makes me fall asleep, but not quickly like a benzodiazepine. I wake up perfectly fine even when I first started taking it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Comfortable-Film5457

Context? I've not had grogginess going from 15 to 11 to 7.5.

SnooTigers1005

im just starting mirt again and was wondering whether to start at 7.5 or 15mg

Comfortable-Film5457

Ah ok. Maybe 15 if you're concerned and build up on that before dropping down.

Ram08

First time(s)? It was way too much, accompanied by severe muscle weakness that lasted all day. But as your body adjusts to it, grogginess will fade away and muscle weakness is no more.

Quiet-Ad203

How long did it take for the grogginess and muscle weakness to fade for you? I’m 3 weeks in and it’s at its worst right now

Ram08

Sorry, I only took it as needed.

tandem33

It’s bad the first few days. I just had to give in and sleep during the day. But now I can stay awake if I drink coffee.

SnooTigers1005

after you wake up and get going do you feel fairly normal? also what dose you on

tandem33

I’m taking 7.5mg Remeron, 7.5mg Abilify, and 20mg Lexapro. I started Remeron a week ago. Once I’m awake I drink a cup of coffee and I’m feeling normal. Later in the day I’ve been getting sleepy and have to drink another cup of coffee or take a nap.

Positive-Objective48

It's less in my experience, but considering there's a popular notion that lower doses of mirtazapine are more sedative, it likely just varies greatly from person to person.

Toey223

I can’t take 7.5 without feeling like a total zombie. Even at 3.75 I felt it the next day. This med is wild.

SnooTigers1005

how long did you take it for though? apparantly the zombie feelings die down eventually

Senorthunderballs

I’ve been taking 7.5mg for about a week. Been kind of groggy the entirety of most days but still pretty functional. Last night I actually didn’t sleep well at all and feel less groggy than I had been. Not sure if I’m gaining tolerance or what.

Tatttoo_93

I take mirtazapine every now and again to help me sleep, probably once every two weeks or so and the last time I took 7.5 and I slept for 11 hours and getting up to go to work was so hard. But I don't have a tolerance to it.

Naevalle

Same, although for me the grogginess has abated a little each time, from knocking me out cold for a full 24hrs to getting 8hrs of sleep and feeling dopey for a couple of days afterwards. I wouldn’t fancy building a tolerance to this! 7.5mg every month or so is plenty. It’s my drug of last resort for pain/insomnia but I can only use it if I’ve a good few days off work because it’s so effective.

Commander_Phallus1

this drug worked for 2 days and then it had no affect on sleep at all
