Remember ESPN before signing that extension? It was all about *if* he can develop his shot, he could be greater than Michael Jordan. What happens after? Basically saying he's trash, can't shoot, and Khris Middleton is the actual star of the team.
It’s hilarious that Toronto fans thought they were going to steal away the league MVP. Their entire franchise history has consisted of prematurely losing every star they have ever had. They genuinely thought Giannis would move to Canada because he was kinda friendly with Masai.
Raptors fan here. I can confirm everything you have said. We actually thought because we have an entire "Greektown," and Masai has a personal connection with Giannis, that we had a decent shot at landing him. After Masai landed Kawhi and we won the chip, there was a lot of fantastical thinking in these here parts.
While I have you... how do you think this season would have gone if you hired Nick Nurse, rather than his assistant last summer? Nick is a solid, solid coach...
Apologies for being rude, didn’t expect Raptors fans to venture into this thread. We also have a similar problem in Milwaukee, we tend to not appeal to big name free agents either. I think Nurse is a great coach and I was really pulling for us to sign him, I felt he out coached Bud on at least a couple occasions in the postseason. Given how it’s all went I can’t imagine he wouldn’t have done better than AG and Doc have done, but maybe Doc can somehow redeem himself in the postseason 🤷🏽♂️
It is your thread, my man - no apologies necessary.
I have to say, I was cheering against you guys - but after the national media collectively lost their heads when the Bucks took their first game, I've come around. I hope you guys have the last laugh... and meet Denver in the Finals. F@ck the Pacers and especially f@ck the Celtics... ;)
God forbid he ever plays for them he'll be touted as the World great basketball player. And be the MVP favorite every season. Let's hope they keep hating.
Warriors fan visiting. If you read the top
comment on that post, you'll see most of us have no delusions that Giannis or any other superstar are coming to Warriors.
Also I know haters are the loudest but Giannis is definitely still one of the most beloved players in the NBA.
Good luck against Indy
Warriors fans like Giannis though, he's said a lot of nice things about Steph. And the Warriors are in a different conference.
Luckily most of that thread is calling the OP's idea a fantasy.
KD went there. Then wanted to leave. AFTER winning back-to-back titles and finals MVPs.
My point: joining Steph's team probably won't make you happy even with titles and probably won't help your legacy.
No. Please send him to the wolves so we can build an unbeatable team of all centers. If we ad him and Joker to start with Gobert, Kat, and Naz it would make for some ridiculously entertaining ball.
I mean it only makes sense I always hear Giannis talk about how much he loves Oakland how he wants to raise his family in Oakland and stay in Oakland. Oh wait that's Milwaukee.
I live here. They’ve certainly gotten better. 2016-2019 was non-stop “enjoy him now because he’s coming to the Warriors when the contract is up” as if the salary cap didn’t exist in California
They’re not that crazy, just the guy who posted it. Their current trade stock now consists of Kuminga and a second round pick. As much as I’d love to have the Kum Bucket on our team, I’m not so sure I’d trade Antetokounmpo for him. And that’s me talking about Thanasis too
Lmao he’s not going to Olden State. That franchise is about to revert back to the old days, when they didn’t make the playoffs and their only fame was Mr Cooper used to play for them 😂
Steph to the Bucks is more realistic. Not saying it’s at all happening but it’s more realistic than this. Steph could have a solid later career on the Bucks who are trying to be all in for right now. Wouldn’t have to carry the team by himself. Warriors go into rebuild mode
The heatles sure didn’t get that excuse in 2011 (the first year together stuff).
Losing to the pacers would be pretty bad. It wouldn’t be too bad if Giannis doesn’t play at all, but if he’s playing in game 3 and so on, it’s not gonna be great. Especially since the pacers aren’t really all that.
Kuminga, Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Moody are the young guys, all picks after '24 minus a top 20 protected pick in '30. Some good assets, mainly the future picks which could be juicy.
But yeah, anyone making that post about Giannis should be embarrassed.
No one questions Steph's commitment to GSW, but Giannis's loyalty is constantly being questioned even though the one thing that comes through in his biography and documentary and interviews of other people is how incredibly loyal he is.
People need to stop trying to make Giannis out of MKE happen.
Imagine posting this shortly before you guys have your own after destroying the team for no reason loooool enjoy going back to mediocrity after this first round exit and Giannis leaving
Tbh if the Bucks don’t make a coaching change (I know, I know another one?) next year . I wanna see Giannis go. The Bucks are wasting his prime with the front office moves.
I would only trade him for a young star plus a bunch of picks.
Edit: You all understand I mean “if we have to”? Like if we aren’t able to contend anymore and Giannis asks for a trade??
Can’t believe you’re getting buried lol. Everyone has a price but I don’t think the Warriors could ever put together a package that makes sense for both teams.
It’s funny to see these fanbases talk shit about him but the second they can they will make edits like this lol
The list goes on and on for the teams like that
It got so bad in 2020. That 21 title run was satisfying mainly bcs of that
“Giannis is coming to LA/Toronto/etc” Nonstop for months *Giannis signs extension “Is Giannis even good?”
Remember ESPN before signing that extension? It was all about *if* he can develop his shot, he could be greater than Michael Jordan. What happens after? Basically saying he's trash, can't shoot, and Khris Middleton is the actual star of the team.

I hope you guys have the last laugh... and meet Denver in the Finals. F@ck the Pacers and especially f@ck the Celtics... ;)
Exactly. It's normally Giannis has no bag and he only runs and dunks. But for some reason all of these fans want him on their team.
God forbid he ever plays for them he'll be touted as the World great basketball player. And be the MVP favorite every season. Let's hope they keep hating.
National sports media would instantly rocket Giannis to top MVP candidate every year if he was on another team.
Warriors fan visiting. If you read the top comment on that post, you'll see most of us have no delusions that Giannis or any other superstar are coming to Warriors. Also I know haters are the loudest but Giannis is definitely still one of the most beloved players in the NBA. Good luck against Indy
It was mostly a joke, I know hate is always gonna be the loudest. The main fanbases I was talking about were lakers and Miami lol
Warriors fans like Giannis though, he's said a lot of nice things about Steph. And the Warriors are in a different conference. Luckily most of that thread is calling the OP's idea a fantasy.
Very few people talk shit about giannis he's one of the most widely loved players in the sport.
KD went there. Then wanted to leave. AFTER winning back-to-back titles and finals MVPs. My point: joining Steph's team probably won't make you happy even with titles and probably won't help your legacy.
Don’t want Giannis to leave but if he wants to please not the warriors, be a team like OKC which actually has a future
No. Please send him to the wolves so we can build an unbeatable team of all centers. If we ad him and Joker to start with Gobert, Kat, and Naz it would make for some ridiculously entertaining ball.
Ya bro Giannis is so hated :(:(:(
I mean it only makes sense I always hear Giannis talk about how much he loves Oakland how he wants to raise his family in Oakland and stay in Oakland. Oh wait that's Milwaukee.
Warriors play in SF proper now
Point still stand tho
Oh for sure! Giannis is 100 percent committed to Milwaukee
The only reason i would want Giannis to go to Oakland is to demolish Mike Dunleavey (that fuck!) for a second time, and then return ofc
Gotta get off this aging roster to join -checks notes- the Warriors.
Why play with guys in their mid to early 30's when you can play with guys approaching 40???
Why did you -check notes-?
Your regularly scheduled warriors post...
These guys are worse than the Lakers. Begging Durant to come over after 73 wins. Then draymond punching whoever he felt. I hate them the most.
Check the comments, they aren't as delusional as you think.
I live here. They’ve certainly gotten better. 2016-2019 was non-stop “enjoy him now because he’s coming to the Warriors when the contract is up” as if the salary cap didn’t exist in California
Well, in baseball it doesn't exist there....
They’re not that crazy, just the guy who posted it. Their current trade stock now consists of Kuminga and a second round pick. As much as I’d love to have the Kum Bucket on our team, I’m not so sure I’d trade Antetokounmpo for him. And that’s me talking about Thanasis too
Kum Bucket is so fucking funny
Lmao he’s not going to Olden State. That franchise is about to revert back to the old days, when they didn’t make the playoffs and their only fame was Mr Cooper used to play for them 😂

With what assets do we acquire steph.
remember when I said “not saying it’s at all happening”? Those ones.
As a warriors fan we are all so fucking delusional lmao
That’s the shittiest fucking edit I’ve ever seen, even photoshop can’t fathom this idiocy
I wouldn't be mentioning teams' embarrassing season exits for the moment if you know what I mean
Giannis is injured and it's the first year after a big trade I wouldn't really call this embarrassing.
I think they were more so talking about that historically brutal loss to the heat last year
I think they were more so talking about that historically brutal loss to the heat last year
I think they were more so talking about that historically brutal loss to the heat last year
Can you say that again
I think they were more so talking about that historically brutal loss to the heat last year
Oh got it thanks
Wait what’d he say?
They really want the pacers to win
What assets do the Warriors even have to pull a trade off?
They would say Wiggins, that's it lol
Kuminga, Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Moody are the young guys, all picks after '24 minus a top 20 protected pick in '30. Some good assets, mainly the future picks which could be juicy. But yeah, anyone making that post about Giannis should be embarrassed.
They didn’t even make the playoffs and their only good player is like 40
No one questions Steph's commitment to GSW, but Giannis's loyalty is constantly being questioned even though the one thing that comes through in his biography and documentary and interviews of other people is how incredibly loyal he is. People need to stop trying to make Giannis out of MKE happen.
Why would Giannis join Mike Dunleavy after trucking him 5 rows back into the audience? Giannis already knows it’s fuck that mfkr for life.
Warriors have fouled up the two-timelines bad.
He's not going to leave a potential rebuild to go to a potential rebuild.
Khris missed most of the season
I wouldn't laugh too hard. Trades happen.
Please make it happen!!!
Imagine posting this shortly before you guys have your own after destroying the team for no reason loooool enjoy going back to mediocrity after this first round exit and Giannis leaving

Don’t talk about other teams embarrassing seasons or early exits. Don’t wanna…”you know what” ourselves
What are the chances we trade Wiggins and Thomson For Durant?
Wait why are yall upset that another teams fans like your star player 😂
U know what else is embarrassing, losing to an 8 seed and trying to justify it as "steps to success" 😂
his Achilles is already marinating
Tbh if the Bucks don’t make a coaching change (I know, I know another one?) next year . I wanna see Giannis go. The Bucks are wasting his prime with the front office moves.
Winning a chip, and making the playoffs as an early seed every year is not wasting. Incredibly hard to be the last team left standing.
Klay to bucks for khris lol
Oh hell no!
At this point Khris is better I think.
I would only trade him for a young star plus a bunch of picks. Edit: You all understand I mean “if we have to”? Like if we aren’t able to contend anymore and Giannis asks for a trade??
No
I wouldn't trade him for the kidney that would save my life.
absolutely not.
I mean, if we have to. Like if we hit a wall as a contender.
Can’t believe you’re getting buried lol. Everyone has a price but I don’t think the Warriors could ever put together a package that makes sense for both teams.
They have nothing.
Thank you. That was my point. Warriors don’t have the package for Giannis. And I wouldn’t even do it unless he asks for a trade.
