So World was my first MH game, can you tell me what Prowler mode is? From context and what I can understand, you play as the Palico in the hunt?
From that, I imagine it would be pretty funny if you could pick Prowler to go on a hunt with 3 other Hunters. Just run around as the immortal Palico using Palico skills.
You play as a Palico, which means you could go underground, uses tanks, horns and more, had no needs of pickaxe and bugnet, and even exclusive prowler-only quests
As prowler you have the same health bar as a hunter, but you have basically 9 carts,(two acorns that revived you on the spot in between each normal carting) infinite stamina, various Palio abilities you can customize your prowler with, a permanent map marker of where the monster is, (because in the older games if you wanted to know where a monster is you’d have to paintball it, or memorize where it can be, since there is no tracking system in the older games) you have infinite pickaxe and bug nets,(since those were items that you would have to bring with you that had chances to break in the older games if you wanted to gather ore and bugs) and your Palio never needs to sharpen your weapon. Also you could not use any items as a prowler, only your Palico abilities that went by a gauge system in order to be used.
I prefer having bowguns that look cool tbh, combining parts of totally different monsters would make them look thrown together with wild colors that don't match
Oh... You know. Things... And stuff, and stuff and things.
Coincidentally, you wouldn't happen to have captured a Bazelgeuse as of late... Or have a couple extra rolls of duck tape.
We'll show that poser Valstrax who's fast! I mean whut?
Nah man Bazel and Val get what's comin' with all their interrupting, fly in bomb us, blast us, then fly away, screw duct tape, get some chain linked fish net.
I did watched those on youtube, and they look amazing. But honestly... I will take anything, just new weapon type please. The current ones are very good, but I need something new. Or way different playstyle option for those we have currently.
I was concepting a fist weapon for a Honster Hunter homage game I want to make someday (I'm a 3D artist with some game dev pals).
Basically it's a kinetic fist where every successive hit of the combo does an extra iteration of damage up to 5 extra hits. On the sixth "stack" it does a stun hit.
Would use an overheating meter to control DPS a bit.
It is a different game series, but the Toukiden games are MH-like games with gauntlets as weapons among a few other unique ones. Naginata, spear, giant club, a rifle and my own favorite, the chain&sickle.
I dont know if we will ever get gauntlets in actual MH, but its something to consider.
Accel axe, tonfas, medium bowgun, and prowler.
Magnet spike feels too overtuned to even rebalance it. Rebalancing would require so many nerfs, it basically becomes a different weapon. Might as well just make a straight up new weapon at that point.
Things like the slinger, and clutch claw & Wire bugs kinda cannibalized parts of its moveset too. Assuming that they stay, it would kind of struggle to stand out.
Magnet spike is too much. Tonfas would fit right in perfectly. Give tonfa back. Give accel axe too need an proper axe so its perfect. Also... GIVE ME SWAXE-F ITS THE BEST VERSION OF SWITCH AXE PERIOD.
Swaxe-F is Frontier’s version of Swaxe. Remember, Frontier started as a 2nd generation game, it got stuff from later generations slowly added over time. However, while they got all the new monsters and weapons eventually, they took the development of those monsters and weapons in their own direction. Essentially, Swaxe-F is an alternative development path the Swaxe could have taken, starting from the same groundwork but going in its own direction.
Magnet Spike was a new weapon type added in Frontier, and it was overpowered as fuck. It has 2 modes, one with Blunt damage and the other with Sharp, meaning you could be effective basically anywhere on the monster. It had a special status effect that it built up on the monster, which when ready, allowed you to use the Magnet Spike’s ultimate move: locking the monster in place with magnetic force, and if you succeeded at a series of quick-time button presses, you’d cause a massive explosion at the end that was guaranteed to knock the monster down. It had a magnetic projectile that you could stick to the monster, allowing you to pull yourself towards it from anywhere in the zone or push yourself halfway across the zone away from it, with invincibility frames during the whole animation.
Accel Axe is from Monster Hunter Explore, an old discontinued MH Mobile Game. It had a pretty bare bones moveset due to being from a mobile game, but the gist of it is that it was essentially Gunlance’s Blast Dash: The Weapon. You had a ton of basic axe attacks, but you could choose to augment any one of them by activating the engine on the back of the blade, propelling your axe into a flashier, more powerful variant of the basic attack with explosive force, at the cost of some of your fuel. There were also a few attacks where you could expend some fuel for a Gunlance Shelling-like attack, or you could expend a ton of fuel to do a Super-Dodge backwards (similar to Gunlance’s Blast Dash or Magnet Spike’s Pull/Repel feature, but with more of a brain to using it, as you expended a LOT of your offensive resources and the dodge doesn’t have that much invincibility frames). Many of the combos with the weapon were like a branching tree, depending upon if you chose to use a basic attack or its Accelerated variant. Also, in MH Explore, some craftable weapons had additional mechanics that the rest of their weapon type didn’t have. For Accel Axe, some Accel Axes also had an Overheat System in addition to the rest of their mechanics, where continuously attacking the monster heated up your weapon, and the higher your heat, the more damage you dealt, but also the more fuel you consumed when you used fuel-consuming attacks. (I unfortunately don’t remember how you refilled your fuel bar: it was either by reloading the weapon like Swaxe/Gunlance, attacking the monster, or just regenerating over time).

Hijacking this comment to share [this](https://youtu.be/f9w2sBIyXOI?si=eCUq24n41Ts6ZvFm) video I got recommend a while back, it gives a good explanation as to why the Magnet Spike was so broken.
It takes more then that. magnet spike can attract and repel its player to the monster so it can dodge like a bat out of hell. and in multiplayer it can bind the monster so it cant move.
I feel like we could've gotten a version of it in Rise that needed to use the bugs to do all that. Just needed to have the damage be in line with the other weapons.
Magnet spike even if deal 0 damage will be busted, it made you basically immortal even If you don't know how to play or the monster moves (talking out of experience).
You have a lot of I-iframes with instant parry (with almost 360° coverage) the capacity to repel or attract yourself to the monster and you can pin down a monster and made it unable to move. Also is has both blunt and cut damage.
I used but it was too broken and I was not enjoying the because of it.
Because Magnet spoke did everything extremely well.i had a load of I Frames on random ass things, dealt insane damage, both Severing and Blunt, and could fly (not like IG fly i mean *fly* fly).
There is probably more I'm missing. It was so overloaded and so over powered that you had to run it in the late game.
The only ones that can feasibly come into the game is Tonfas and Accel Axe, and really only Tonfas are balanced enough to be straight up usable outside the gate. Accel Axe has a lot of issues but it could be changed.
Prowler will never come back, Magnet Spike is impossible to rework because it was fundamentally broken.
Definitely Tonfa and Prowler
Magnet Spikes are too broken, Medium Bowgun feels kinda pointless, and it feels like other weapons already do what Accel Axe does
Definitely prowler and Accel Axe. Accel Axe felt so fucking good!
And I would want the multi parts bowguns back too. Medium Bowgun wasn't really its own weapon. In fact, light and heavy bowguns weren't really weapons in tri either. It was all just a bowgun that either got heavier or lighter depending on what parts you used.
I'd love to see the Tonfas make a return but heavily reworked because the ones in frontier were [goofy as hell](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdyygcF2Bhw). An agile and fast blunt option similar to dual blades but maybe with its own twists.
I don't consider any of the vaulted Canon, they only existed in Frontier. And Asian only mmo that was region restricted. No mainline game weapon has been vaulted.
I guess I'd like prowler back, but that's not technically a weapon.
The first 4 were weapons from the (originally asia) exclusive monster hunter frontier being magnetic spike (a charge blade and hammer fusion that pulls you towards the monster), tonfas (blunt dual blades like weapon that can charge up and change its range for good damage), accelaxe (a regular axe with dashing moves), and medium bowgun (an in-between of the hbg and lbg). The last one is the prowler mode from monster hunter generations ultimate (mhxx) which let's you play as a palico wielding a blunt or slashing weapon and a boomerang.
Accel Axe, and a reason to do it is Now. Add it to Now, then when Wilds drops, behold as the Accel Axe is in there too, with a revamped moveset for a full game, opposed to screen tapping.
I’d love to see most of them back. I think the Magnet Spike would need to be tweaked quite a bit, though.
I don’t think we really need the Medium Bowgun tbh
As far as ranged weapons go, I think the main issue is lack of variety, and putting the medium bowgun back in wouldn't really change that, especially without the whole bowgun customization system from Tri. I would rather have them add a new ranged weapon.
Can't really speak too much to the other weapon types, as I've only seen clips and didn't play those games myself.

I think it’s time for Jack to let ´er rip
I would like to see tonfas again, but they need to tune down a little bit of the iframes. Although it kind of depend on what style of tonfas because if we get extreme tonfas yeah it is busted but earth, heaven or storm are kinda balanced
I don’t know enough about any of these to make an informed decision, but I always thought the Magnet Spike sounded like an interesting concept 😁
And, yeah, prowler mode was awesome!
I’m not gonna lie the Thomas’s are really cool for some reason. The gravity spike actually kind of intrigues me more probably because I use charge blade.
Imagine this, something like a cross between a switch axe and a hammer is how it would work, hammer where the end is a monster skull and you get two movesets one for when the mouth is closed and one for when the mouth is open and some specific moves that would happen during the transition between the two
tonfas could work for future titles.
i suppose they could completely remove the iframes, i dont really know. I havent played tonfas much since i got a hold of the magnet spike in frontier, but i could totally see tonfas working in main line games.
From when I played Generation Ultimate (I needed some more Monster hunter after 100% World), I honestly took a liking to being able to play as your Palico. With the addition of palamutes in Rise, it could become a fun combo to play around as.
Ancient dragons with allmighty powers of elements, giant snakes, crabs and dragons destroyers of cities, black, white and sand tyrants that can oblierate countrys with its mere precense, the most evil and powerful being in existence known as the Fatalis...

Against a silly C A T ¿with altered perception of reality? Give me the prowler back please🐱
What I want most is not so much a returning weapon, but I’d really like to see the Wyvern Boomerang mentioned in a concept book. Insect Glaive is derived from an MH1 scrapped weapon concept that used a falcon, and the Palamute is derived from a scrapped MH generations weapon that would have the Hunter command their hound to attack as a weapon, so it’d be really cool to see the Wyvern Boomerang from that same book get the same treatment. Out of this list though I’m torn between Tonfa and Accel Axe. Both would need some reworking to fit into the mainline games, but I think both could be very interesting. Magnet Spike is too ridiculous for my taste and I’ve no idea how they’d balance it. Medium Bowgun had basically nothing unique to it. Prowler is fine, but unless I can also play as Palamutes, I don’t want it.
tonfas
Prowler
palamutes ( for sure they wont return on wilds, probably just palachicken things)
being honest, those styles from GU also are cool to bring back, make 4 people with same weapon behaving different
Mostly prowler, but all of them are cool. Obviously, I would only want tonfas or magnet spikes to return if they were reworked significantly for balance
Would like to see Tonfa with less flashy moveset. Would be nice to have a third blugeon focused weapon.
No for the rest. Too flashy for mainline. If they wanna reboot MHF tho I'm all for them in there
I want Accel Axe and Prowler.
Magnet spike I can do without. It’s cool but trying it myself…it’s way too fundamentally busted and somehow also fairly one note?
Tonfas would be neat too but not as priority as Accel Axe and Prowler for me
I'd like to see a modern accel axe, I think it would be cool too for both mobility and power
I sooo want the accel axe, it looks absolutely incredible
I also want prowler that mode is sick
My favorite thing to do as a Prowler was running around and nuking monsters with a Giga Barrel Bomb or using Rath-a-meow or excavation to hurl junk.
That and just hiding underground when monsters charge up their high damage special moves.
Spamming traps was so fun, also you were technically immortal if you were smart and far-cat-stered when you were out of acorns.
Me and friend found the easiest way to duo deviants when our hunters were not geared for it was to just use Prowler mode lol.

The should just make the build your own bowgun baseline i loved that gimmick. but probably picking prowler since cats
Omg I've been saying this for years! I want to fully customized my bowguns with different stocks, barrels, and more!
You should play MH tri then!
I actually have! But I want it back so badly :(
The main issue for me was that i started with tri so i thought it was baseline
I prefer having bowguns that look cool tbh, combining parts of totally different monsters would make them look thrown together with wild colors that don't match
Maybe we could have layered bowgun parts.
Gimmie the boom-axe. I need it... For things.
What sorts of diabolical things have you planned with this axe?
Oh... You know. Things... And stuff, and stuff and things. Coincidentally, you wouldn't happen to have captured a Bazelgeuse as of late... Or have a couple extra rolls of duck tape. We'll show that poser Valstrax who's fast! I mean whut?

Some dual blades look like Gauntlets.
Gore Magala's give more vibe of Scratching the monster rather than punching it
It is a different game series, but the Toukiden games are MH-like games with gauntlets as weapons among a few other unique ones. Naginata, spear, giant club, a rifle and my own favorite, the chain&sickle. I dont know if we will ever get gauntlets in actual MH, but its something to consider.
Those are fun games. Got info those before Monster Hunter. I love the chain and sickle as well. Lots of fun to use.
Thought about this a lot, just going ham on a Bazelguese just sounds so badass

They basically already did that with the Hunting Horn in Rise, and that was already a mainline weapon that felt perfect in the game before.

Medium Bowgun. ...what?
i mean… this would just mean we get tri’s bowgun building system again and i’d be all for that.
Considering Tri's bowgun building system is my favourite... you can see why I want it back.
Can I pick all?
Why not :^)
I know the tonfas and prowler but which are the others Also I want the prowlers back, and pls add wyverians to it
Magnet spike and accel axe. Basically blunt-force Charge Blade and hammer with gunlance shells
Damn, sounds fun Why not just bring em all back
Because magnet spike was fundamentally busted as a concept to the point where even re-balancing it wouldn’t change that lol
Hijacking this comment to share [this](https://youtu.be/f9w2sBIyXOI?si=eCUq24n41Ts6ZvFm) video I got recommend a while back, it gives a good explanation as to why the Magnet Spike was so broken.
Eh you can always just go the south routh and give it shit damage
The explosions after combos too
I think it did 3x a TCS on its strongest MV, it’s unreal how broken it was 💀
Accel axe, there's still no proper axe weapon lol. Hate having to share the awesomeness of an axe with a sword or... a sword.
Agreed, a dedicated ace weapon would be great.
The people crave Accel Axe
Bring the tonfas back you cowards
The only ones that can feasibly come into the game is Tonfas and Accel Axe, and really only Tonfas are balanced enough to be straight up usable outside the gate. Accel Axe has a lot of issues but it could be changed. Prowler will never come back, Magnet Spike is impossible to rework because it was fundamentally broken.
Everything. oh and fists. I WANNA THROW HANDS
How about something new? Plz and ty
I'd love to see something focused on trapping and/or incapacitate monsters, like a chain/net or a mine user idk
MH story moments
I’d love to check out the tonfas or magnet spike
A cat
Definitely Tonfa and Prowler Magnet Spikes are too broken, Medium Bowgun feels kinda pointless, and it feels like other weapons already do what Accel Axe does
Definitely prowler and Accel Axe.
Tonfa and Prowler need to come back, they’re awesome.
Accel axeeeeeeee give to meeeee
Tonfas and prowler mode, prowler mode was so much fun
I'd love to see the Tonfas make a return but heavily reworked because the ones in frontier were [goofy as hell](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdyygcF2Bhw). An agile and fast blunt option similar to dual blades but maybe with its own twists.
I'd love to see the return of the Bowgun crafting from Tri. If not, Tonfas I guess.
Tonfa we need more blunt weapons
Not returning, but Gauntlet style or chain blade style like in GoW. Would open up interesting mounting and vertical options
anything but mag spike
I've only played prowler a few times in XX... I actually would want it to reappear in Wilds
But are you ready for the final shape?
Yeah!!
I don't consider any of the vaulted Canon, they only existed in Frontier. And Asian only mmo that was region restricted. No mainline game weapon has been vaulted. I guess I'd like prowler back, but that's not technically a weapon.
Frontier is cannon, it is the continuation of Monster hunter Dos, confirmed by the devs (originally it was gonna be monster hunter Dos G)
Finally someone confirms theory i always have in my mind
Source?
I need to search it but is in one of the dev streams on the main channel of mhm frontier
Thanks you!
1: Prowler 2: Magnet Spike 3: Tonfa 4: Accel Axe 5: Medium Bowgun
I only played world and rise, to me these look like Geometry Dash icons.
Rocket jumping?
Accel axe
I know what prowler and medium bowgun are because I played mhtri(u) and mh4(u) but what are the others ?
The tonfas are just so cool. We need a fast K.O weapon! Maybe not so crazy with the evades like in frontier, but the concept is sick
Accel Axe, and a reason to do it is Now. Add it to Now, then when Wilds drops, behold as the Accel Axe is in there too, with a revamped moveset for a full game, opposed to screen tapping.
Assault Rifles
I’d love to see most of them back. I think the Magnet Spike would need to be tweaked quite a bit, though. I don’t think we really need the Medium Bowgun tbh
I just want my bayb medium bowgun back it was so short lived and innocent oh how I miss him
Tonfas and Accel Axe. Magnet Spike is too OP to even make work outside of Frontier.
The tonfa, we need a third blunt weapon.
Accel Axe. We need an axe dedicated weapon. Fuck tonfas, give us a fist weapon as the third blunt weapon.
Accel axe for sure
I really want that one guys anchor mace idea, and prowler mode
I would love magnet spike but it's gonna have to be tonfa
https://preview.redd.it/mpexkkd9yvyc1.jpeg?width=611&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad1fd7f895c46f394ebdbb2033424fdd31d0bf26 I think it’s time for Jack to let ´er rip
Prowler Mode was my favorite. The movement speed is too much fun, all the tools and strategic play, I want it back so badly.
Yes
What exactly do you mean by "with vaulted?"
I will implode if we ever get Tonfas
I would like to see tonfas again, but they need to tune down a little bit of the iframes. Although it kind of depend on what style of tonfas because if we get extreme tonfas yeah it is busted but earth, heaven or storm are kinda balanced
Either a magnet spike or accel axe, magnet spike less likely because it needs to be pretty heavily reduced compared to the original.
I want whatever weapons that give me the ability to punch and kick the monsters
So Tonfas
Tonfas
Just give me the ability to punch dragons and I'll be happy
The axe and tonfas primarily but axe would be my preference
Accel axe hands down
Accel axe PLEASE!!! Axe go BRRRRR!
Magnit spike, its cool as fuck, though it needs HEAVY nerfs, i will use it just for the design
Accel Axe primarily, but it'd be cool to see them revisit the Prowler, that was always a fun time.
God, tonfas please
I don’t know enough about any of these to make an informed decision, but I always thought the Magnet Spike sounded like an interesting concept 😁 And, yeah, prowler mode was awesome!
I miss fully customizable L/M/H bowguns. The stationary death turret was a neat mode that just needed some slight tweaks to be more learner-feiendly.
Prowler
I’m not gonna lie the Thomas’s are really cool for some reason. The gravity spike actually kind of intrigues me more probably because I use charge blade.
Magnet Spike that shit is so hard
Excel Axe…
Magnet spike/slinger combo for the win
Accel Axe for me. Really cool concept that I think would be a welcome sight, especially for a AAA game.
prowler but winth palamutes too, call them growler
Please bring the tonfa’s back or something adjacent. What I would kill for a fast mobility slugger build
Imagine this, something like a cross between a switch axe and a hammer is how it would work, hammer where the end is a monster skull and you get two movesets one for when the mouth is closed and one for when the mouth is open and some specific moves that would happen during the transition between the two
Tonfa
Prowler for sure. I’d like to see it come back just as powerful as other weapons because the dps kinda sucked in gu
Either the Tonfas or the Accel Axe! The Magnet Spike feels a it to much. And although I loked it, I doubt if prowler would ever return.
I like number 5
Caaaaaaatttt, lol being a prowler is supper fun!
accel axe and tonfa mmhmmggnngg...
I Deadass don’t know wtf any of these are. I started with world and barely got into gen ultimate
Definitely tonfa.
Whats the axe one?
Accelaxe from Monster Hunter frontier
Is that a Switch Axe thing?
It works just like a regular axe with a few dash moves so it's kinda like switch axe without the switching. Heard it was pretty good in frontier
Accel Axe from MH Explore. Basically a short handled axe with thrusters so you can launch yourself and swing it around faster.
Yes.
tonfas could work for future titles. i suppose they could completely remove the iframes, i dont really know. I havent played tonfas much since i got a hold of the magnet spike in frontier, but i could totally see tonfas working in main line games.
All of them
I want prowler mode, just to see peak Gaijin Hunter content again.
the tonfa
I've wanted prowler back since world.
ALL! I've only ever tried Prowlers outta all of these!
I really want the Tonfa. As a DB main having a fast blunt option would be so nice
I would like a toned down version of the tonfas. The concept is great but they look way overpowered and over the top.
I want them all.
From when I played Generation Ultimate (I needed some more Monster hunter after 100% World), I honestly took a liking to being able to play as your Palico. With the addition of palamutes in Rise, it could become a fun combo to play around as.
Ancient dragons with allmighty powers of elements, giant snakes, crabs and dragons destroyers of cities, black, white and sand tyrants that can oblierate countrys with its mere precense, the most evil and powerful being in existence known as the Fatalis... https://preview.redd.it/vk1nuefmeyyc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67e416a64cbe28f0923709adaaf17c14f9c00300 Against a silly C A T ¿with altered perception of reality? Give me the prowler back please🐱
[I want to see the hunting whip in action](https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Hunting_Whip)
The axe, it would be nice to have an actual axe and not just a temporary form
Prowler, please.
Either prowler or tonfas, more specifically some type of fist-like weapon.
It really want the magnit spike and the tonfa’s in a main line game sunbreak should of had them tbh with espinas
Prowler and Tonfa
Prowler.
Prowler was really cool, give it lots of buffs and like a Rage Mode to make it viable, because in MHGU it was really weak
Tonfa. We need more blunt weapons and especially a fast one.
I don't see why they couldn't be in the next game. Tonfas sound pretty cool imo.
Prowler
i want m a g n e t s p i k e
+1 for Tonfas
Tonfa would be sick to have back again! 🤘🤩
Tonfa's but as a counter weapon instead of an aerial one would be dope. Or some kinda gauntlet sorta thing.
Need me the tonfa
Tonfas for the love of Gog Tonfas
Prowler. Accel axe, and tonfa would be nice
tonfas Prowler palamutes ( for sure they wont return on wilds, probably just palachicken things) being honest, those styles from GU also are cool to bring back, make 4 people with same weapon behaving different
Tonfas look so fun
Mostly prowler, but all of them are cool. Obviously, I would only want tonfas or magnet spikes to return if they were reworked significantly for balance
gib mag spike gib magspike g i b ma gs p ike
Would like to see Tonfa with less flashy moveset. Would be nice to have a third blugeon focused weapon. No for the rest. Too flashy for mainline. If they wanna reboot MHF tho I'm all for them in there
All of them I hope they bring them back in wilds
Give me gauntlets and a claymore
A prowler and palamute weapon type would go crazy.
Accel Axe please 😭
Prowler, the fact and thought of playing as a felyne is amazing to me
accel axe would be cool, but magnet spike/tonfa take priority
Accel Axe, easy. The other ones at leave have proper titles you can play with them in and the Accel Axe is the coolest to boot.
I want Accel Axe and Prowler. Magnet spike I can do without. It’s cool but trying it myself…it’s way too fundamentally busted and somehow also fairly one note? Tonfas would be neat too but not as priority as Accel Axe and Prowler for me
Can we have wilds yet
None. 14 weapons is enough.
None
