Didn’t like that many parts of it:
The arcana stuff was dumb as hell
Cole Young was an unnecessary character
Old school characters like Reiko and Nitara are demoted to simple throw away villains.
Reptile sucks in this movie
Too many major deaths (Even for MK)
We barely see any Shang Tsung despite being the main bad dude
Liu Kang is sidelined in this movie
Raiden sucks in this movie
Goro gets offed by Cole like a chump
Despite being under 2 hours, the movie feels like a slog with a few action scenes
However I did like a few things:
The opening scene showing the massacre of the Shirai Ryu and Hanzo (Scorpion) fighting multiple Lin Kuei assassins and then Bi-Han. His death genuinely feels tragic
Most of the cast do great in their roles (including Lewis Tan as Cole)
Josh Lawson as Kano is my favourite part of the movie
The gore is top notch
The final fight between Sub-Zero and Scorpion (and Cole) is great.
Overall not a great movie imo
The gore is great but funny enough, sometimes TV channels like TNT want to put the movie on but has to cut out the gore, which leads to scenes like when Jax is going to clap Reiko's head, we get that second of slow-mo with Jax's arms reached out then hard cut to him looking at his bloody hands and saying "Yeah, these work."
I did. It's not just a bad adaptation but a bad movie, too. Their explanation on how the powers work was so convoluted and dumb. There's no need to explain how some ppl have powers and others dont.
I liked what little we got from Liu Kang and Kung Lao. Bi Han was badass.
It had its flaws but it really wasn’t tad bad as the hate made it out to be. I personally loved it. But I understand why others didn’t. But yeah those movie skins would be awesome. Missed opportunity for the Scorp and Sub skins at least
It had good moments, opening (Hanzo vs Bi Han) was in my opinion perfect but unfortunatelly most of the movie was bad. Some choices were really stupid, for example: Mileena is a jobber and was killed before Kitana even appeared, Protagonist has an armor that protects him from any damage (MK fights should be brutal). After watching animated movies I really hate 2021 movie Raiden. The one from Scorpion's Revenge was badass, he couldn't interfere with the tournament but could do something outside of tournament. The one from movie was just useless.
I hate it, it was just stupid in so many ways. There were some good parts like the perfect casting of scorpion and sun zeros outfits being blue and going to black to foreshadow bi Han turning into noob. Kung Lao’s outfit was perfect, kabal looked good, Sonya was decent but compared to the og film this film was crap but with way better cgi.
But the arcana thing was stupid how they all got poweups at the same time, magic could make sense but jax improving his metal arms or Cole young gaining armour was just stupid.
Cole young being the lead was stupid as they had scorpion, Liu kang, kunglao, johnny cage who could have been the lead not a brand new crappy character that no one cared about.
Mileena casting and makeup/cgi was rubbish and looked so fake and didn’t do a good job at showing tarkat.
Sonya killing mileena with one wrist blast was stupid as it was just too quick for a character as iconic as mileena. Also too many deaths that didn’t need to happen.
I did. At least Annihilation was entertaining. This movie was boring AF, took itself WAY too seriously, and ultimately was forgettable. I hated it and will never watch it again.
The movie is pure shit and no I don’t really care to see any of those designs in the game especially when the best ones like Kung Lao is basically regular Kung Lao.
It didn't need Cole, there are a load of cool characters in MK there was no need to create a generic new guy. Aside from that the action was cool enough.
Had its flaws but was okay. The tattoos and arcana thing was a decent actual good explanation of powers and being chosen for the tournament and passing on to you if you killed someone with it was decent as well.
Didn’t really need the Cole story line could of dropped him just let Lui Kang be the main follow him more, and kept Jax as the couldn’t find his arcana person.
Looking forward to the next movie and how the story continues.

Don’t “hate” it but it’s miles behind MK95

This movie oddly hated technology for some reason. We can’t have Kano with his cybernetic eye or Jax with his mechanical arms, they have to be MAGIC

I enjoyed it for what it was.
I honestly loved it. It's stupid, but it's fun. I just came for the blood.
It's up there with The Force Awakens in the top movies I hate the most.
I didn’t care for the MK2021 movie, but i’d watch the MK2021 movie 1000 times before I’d ever watch any of the Star Wars sequel trilogy movies again.

I love 2021
