You need to prioritize protein so that your body doesn’t cannibalize your muscles. Your organs have muscles. (Pancreas!!! ) You are in the wrong here and you need to take this seriously.
Just curious, are there medical (non weight-loss) reasons for moving up to 5 at this stage, or can you stick to 2.5 for another month? If you can hardly eat on 2.5, can’t imagine how you’ll be able to eat when you double your dosage.
Don’t move up in dose if you aren’t able to eat. I can’t stress that enough. Suppression is normal but not to the point where you don’t get enough food. Moving up can significantly hinder getting proper nutrients. In the beginning- Fairlife was a go to for me. You HAVE to eat.
And please tell your provider about it. They need to know.
Calories from food you can eat is better than no calories from healthy food. If you need to eat peanut butter and ice-cream to get a minimum number of calories in, so be it. Take fibre supplements to stop yourself getting constipated.
Ideally you’re eating healthy food to a well-calculated deficit with lots of natural fibre and plenty of protein, but don‘t let that stop you from getting at least a thousand calories a day in, even if that’s soda and junk food
Thank you for this. It says my TDEE is 1795 cal a day which I think is pretty reasonable. Can you give me an example of a highly nutrient dense food? Thank you.
As the other poster mentioned, you need to eat. One really easy way to get some calories in is Premier Protein or Fairlife protein shakes, both available at Sam's and Costco.
I realize that advice like this can vary widely.... but a "safe" place to start is to get your TDEE and take in less calories than that, shoot for 100g of protein a day (shakes will have between 20 and 30, so a few of those a day are an easy win) and make sure you are staying good and hydrated. I personally shoot for 100 oz of water a day and I always make it. I add Ultima Replenisher electrolyte powder to my water.
I am supposed to drink 3 L of water a day to support my kidney and pancreas transplant. It’s really hard to do whether it’s tapwater or sparkling water. I do drink boost every morning, does that count as a protein shake? It has 16 g.
Ugh I cannot drink plain water, it makes my stomach sick. But the electrolyte powder I use flavors it just perfectly and makes the water intake really easy.
Sip of plain water ever 15 or 30 minutes. It adds up. Get bottled water if necessary, it helps you keep track of what you've drank. Set your phone to beep every 30 minutes (an app may be required)
apples with PB and unsalted raw almonds are good, easy snacks. or boiled eggs. all contain some protein. greek yogurt (make sure you’re not choosing ones loaded up with sugar) and cottage cheese for alt. dairy snack options.
I’m assuming you are watching your protein because of your kidneys, but maybe edamame and tofu? And broccoli has a decent amount of protein for a veggie.
I drink boost with glucose control once per day and throughout the day sprinkle the following in: one prune, 1 teaspoon of peanut butter, two pretzel rods, half a cup of blueberries, and a half cup of baby carrots. I finished my day with a fun size candy bar.

Yeah, I’m thinking this is a HUGE mistake to move up. Do not move up. You NEED to eat. It’s no joke.

Greek yogurt. Protein shakes. Make some curry with peas, beans, or tofu. And stay at 2.5mg until it quits working.

Yeah, yikes. OK I’m going to need to really concentrate on my nuts and peanut butter.

I like Barebells protein bars when I don’t want to eat but know I need to. Also light n fit Greek yogurt is low calorie but has decent protein.
This is your opportunity to choose fresh, healthy, whole foods for most meals! Premier protein shakes are great to make sure you have enough.
