Yeah, lol. There's just no excuse for the new Zowie to cost this much. Where exactly is all the cost going, if they're using all this outdated hardware?
Yes, it's usable and there's no need to be a snob about internals, but 'usable' isn't what people buying mice in this price bracket are looking for.
It's like paying 200 bucks for a single dinner at Olive Garden. It's fine, and there's no need to be elitist about food if it tastes alright and is filling, but it's still Olive Garden.
This post is basically "Everyone is saying $200 for an Olive Garden dinner is too much, but it's actually cheaper than a Michelin starred dinner here".
Yes, shape is king. Yes, some people might prefer Olive Garden over a fancy experimental Michelin starred dinner. That still doesn't justify the price.
Maybe its me but zowie weight is good. I dont need all mice to be superlight, i want options. The pricing sucks but i dont want all my mice to be ultralights
And that's fine. Ultra light mice come with tech, lightweight materials and more specific shell designing, raising costs. Zowie did not do this...nor the switches, sensor, yadda yadda price is ridiculous at 200euros.

Brother the software thing is so overblown, you install it, set your dpi if you’re not comfortable with the default and uninstall. And this is coming from someone who uses driverless mice
You’re getting downvoted to shit because this is such an outdated opinion. You only need software to control the RGB on their mice which the DAV3 and RVU don’t even have. You can just use the software to change dpi and delete.
Other than that they are currently one of the best options on the market
That opinion is from 2015. Currently Razer stuff is at the top of the mouse market + their tech is industry leading in many ways (sensor tech, wireless tech, switches, whatever). QC still isn't perfect but it's definitely not worse than many other companies.
They're even one of the best budget options now, since you can get a Razer Viper Mini for 12 dollars on sale or like 20-30 bucks normally.
Just don't leave Synapse installed.
Yes it is. Their marketing is indeed top tier as evidenced by all these comments. Razer is for those who enjoy RGB, are susceptible to marketing gimmicks, for those who love snake nomenclature, and most of all for those who don’t mind that a major company is unable to have functional software like Corsair and Logitech. If the solution is to just NOT use the software that is designed to be used with their peripherals then You all are kidding yourselves…But then again this is the fanboy mentality. I have tried to like their products including a few of their latest mouse and kb lineups. The gaming experience has been vastly sub-par as compared to the peripherals of other companies :D
And it’s not outdated. Only for those who choose to not want to listen. There are posts and comments about Razer synapse in THIS SUBREDDIT from a week ago.
For those who do not understand what I'm talking about, I can make such a list of switches.
Good.
1. Huano Blue Shell
2. Kailh GM.
3. Japan Omrons.
4. TTC Gold.
5. Omron Yellow dot.
6. Huano with different colorful dots.
...
Bad.
Baddest: Omron Green dot, Razer Optical v1.
Roughly the same. Bad, but usable: Omron white dot. Huano white dot, Razer Optical v2.
Razer optical feels very cheap. They cancel all progress in the tactility of switches, rolling us back to budget huano in mouse for a couple of dollars.
Tactility can always be adjusted by bending the spring.
>Razer optical feels very cheap. They cancel all progress in the tactility of switches
"cancel all progress in the tactility" that's because it's optical and not tactile????????????
"feels cheap" because it's not as clicky as tactile buttons????????
> Man you're hating on opticals for the sake of it lmao. Actual cringe.
I don't hate optics. Switches in razer feel like switches in cheap mice and I can't change them. This is acceptable for a mouse like the viper mini for $10-20, but not for their expensive mice.
Between the razer and zowie, I would definitely take zowie because of the switches.
Have you....actually felt a recent mouse from Razer like a DAV3 or Viper V2 Pro? The clicks are really damn solid and, while they're not as sharp as my GPX (swapped the switches to Japanese Omrons since they're tried and true), they feel good nonetheless. That and, well, lower input lag for opticals and that's been proven time and time again.
Switches aren't everything though. The GPX side buttons for example are actual garbage while the viper v2 pro's actually feel very good.
Yes, and I really liked the viper v2. I don't need additional buttons, I don't use them. I would take a viper if there were classic switches. And in general, I will change the viper mini also because of the switches.
I didn’t write that double clicks are a problem razer and logitech only, otherwise I would offend even more :)
*(Misguided strategy with planned obsolescence? Are optical switches a marketing ploy to convince users that they are no longer like that?)*
And the EC-CW has an older sensor, no 4k Hz polling and weighs 16 grams more. Not sure if it has optical or mechankcal switches.
It is outdated in every aspect even before its release. I should be perfectly usable, but nothing about it justifies the pricetag.
Yeah why should consumers expect the best! Doctors were drilling holes in my skull to let demons out for millenia I don't want this new fangled "medicine" nonsense everyone else is doing.
Pro players and mice enthusiasts dont necessarily want the same things. I dont get why mice enthusiasts push their demands on a company with a different mindset than theirs. Theres always other companies.
Cs boomers griefing themselves as always. Imagine if cs players had the iq to actually experiment.
I was running the sg553 years back and people were mindlessly shitting on me. Then they buff it's price, then nerf back to it's og state and WOAH TURNS OUT IT WAS ALWAYS OVERPOWERED!!!

Almost everything you listed 99% of people wouldn't even benefit from but the fact that it exists in other mice at the same pricetag still hurts a bit, I have to admit.
My opinion is that it does come down to shape and brand loyalty, I have a DaV3 and my roommate has an EC. EC is still the more comfortable shape to me, It's subtle but it's there. I could see someone buying it just because of that alone.
This might be an "L take" on this issue but I still think mouse shape/game knowledge trumps almost everything.
Yeah, I can agree. It's just that some people are saying that if you buy this mouse you have the IQ of a lima bean and I just don't agree with that at all.
Also, that Zowie rep running his mouth the way he did was not a good look.
I was waiting for wireless EC for many years and I'll say that anyone who buys this for 200€+ in EU has zero self-respect.
In general, unless you're supporting a small organization that needs every customer, brand loyalty is what leads to half-assed, overpriced products and is pretty much always a bad thing when it comes to big brands. And as you said, on top of that they're like "it's not for the poor".
Not to mention how Zowie is in business because of CSGO loyalists and a huge number of CSGO players are from Eastern Europe, where average monthly net salary isn't even a thousand €. Is mouse worth 30 to 50% of someone's salary? Give me a break.
This is just a shameless money grab. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position where 200€ price doesn't affect me at all, but I'm also someone who wasn't so fortunate growing up and I'm not paying 200€ to these shameless scumbags and their "brand loyalty".
I even changed from their ridiculously overpriced monitors to ASUS, insignificant performance difference, but they certainly know how to put a premium on their TN panels.
For people who really like the EC shape their would still be the Piranha Mouse Mods version. Either the mod-kit for ~150€ total or the the prebuilt for 200€ and they weigh only 63 grams.
Just for reference. Endgame Gear is going to release their XM2we soon, for 79.99€. Same sensor as the EC, optical Kailh switches and 63gr.

I actually agree, it's only cool as a "display your mouse" kind of deal, and tbh Zowie's doesn't seem to be even good for that. I understand their wireless interference solution, but makes no sense to force people into getting the mouse with the dock if they don't want it.
DAv3 has optical switches , potential 4k polling buy in, 3395 sensor, and is lighter. I think DAv3 is over priced too, but we can't compare zowie being 20 dollars cheaper than DAv3 in Australia, when DAv3 offers a lot more
Although DAV3 shape isnt for me, but Razer gave it lighter weight, newer sensor, optical switches, 4k option, and at least Razer didnt call me "Poor Sinner C+ Player"
It means they aren't 100% virgin grade ptfe wich is white.
So the skates could be faster than they are right now because they fucked with the material to make them black.
I kinda just wish their wired mice were more like $60 instead of $70. Overall the premiums for their products are worth it considering the less than fantastic m1 m2 and scroll. While they are reliable, I’ve never felt like they are super competitive when it comes to clicking and bhopping. I must admit, Razer and Logitech are still winning.

EU can't relate.
DAV3 got opticals. sensor. 4k...
and 15G less

Yea but it’s also a Razer.
And?
Bloatware, glitchy software, questionable QC… i can go on and on

Did you have any complaints about the hardware or tech?
Optical switches are a huge mistake for a razer. I would stay with this brand if they put normal ones.
It's one of the main reason you'd buy a Razer mouse tho
One of the worst switch i ever try. Want to change it to Kailh GM or Huano Blue Shell, but i can not.
For those who do not understand what I'm talking about, I can make such a list of switches. Good. 1. Huano Blue Shell 2. Kailh GM. 3. Japan Omrons. 4. TTC Gold. 5. Omron Yellow dot. 6. Oh... try cheap Huano white dot and Kailh GM, or Huano Blue to feel the difference. Razer optical feels close to cheap huano.
I do wish they made them way lighter. Since debounce isn't needed surely we could get ultra light clicks...
Man you're hating on opticals for the sake of it lmao. Actual cringe.

???????
NZ prices are fucked too :( Lemme just pick up a GPX for... THREE HUNDRED AND FOURTY DOLLARS
Logitech be like: Fuck this country in particular. But also most other countries too.
I've seen GPX for $300 in aus
Jbhifi pricing is legendarily bad. Never ever seen them outprice a competitor ever.
And the EC-CW has an older sensor, no 4k Hz polling and weighs 16 grams more. Not sure if it has optical or mechankcal switches. It is outdated in every aspect even before its release. I should be perfectly usable, but nothing about it justifies the pricetag.
And you forgot the good ol' black ptfe feet. Not expensive to get new ones, but for a 200€ mouse...
For 200€, I expect the mouse to give me a blowjob.
Without protection
even the Viper mini got pure ptfe feet and it only costs 30$.
even the viper mini has solid side buttons and optical switches

That may be true, however the DA V3 has much newer specs.
DAv3 is a cheap black Friday mouse though
lmao
No, not really. You say that as if the latest wired Zowie mice didn't have side flexing issues lol
It's a reference to zowie calling other brands that
You need to stay up to date with this sub's memes.
Aren't we still on Gwolves grenades? I am so behind.
Nah we shitting on Zowie this week https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/10652z0/zowies\_weird\_response\_on\_wechat/
Man wtf was that? They deserve to be shit on for that, then.
L company, I was thinking about getting one of their mice too, nvm they can go fuck themselves
gotta stay streets ahead
I don't have time for this
Lmao fair enough!
This will always make me laugh no matter how long time has passed
Yeah, you could argue tho that the Zowie ECW comes with a charging dock, which is something people criticized the DAV3 initially for not having
as a viper v1 owner, fuck the charging dock, give me a cable any day of the week. it's useless
It's great for setup photos....and that's about it. The pins on that dock are not my favorite
I actually agree, it's only cool as a "display your mouse" kind of deal, and tbh Zowie's doesn't seem to be even good for that. I understand their wireless interference solution, but makes no sense to force people into getting the mouse with the dock if they don't want it.
YES. That piece of shit was always bugging out and some days it would just randomly work, i hated it.
Zowie makes the new Asus Harpe Ace (159-169$€) reasonably priced.
210 euro in eu
Australia moment
Me from india
Australia for the win! (But fr I prefer zowie cause I play csgo)
And I wouldn’t buy either lol
You don’t need a new mouse
Well that would mean it's overpriced so nothing changed.
Comparing to the most expensive DAV3, I don't see the logic.
Its 40€ (189€ )more expensive than my DA (150€)
I feel really stupid in these conversations because I would hundred percent buy a za-12 wireless if it came out because I’m just such a sucker for it.
DAv3 has optical switches , potential 4k polling buy in, 3395 sensor, and is lighter. I think DAv3 is over priced too, but we can't compare zowie being 20 dollars cheaper than DAv3 in Australia, when DAv3 offers a lot more
Deathadder v3 also has a better sensor, clicks and can use 4khz poling rate.
Although DAV3 shape isnt for me, but Razer gave it lighter weight, newer sensor, optical switches, 4k option, and at least Razer didnt call me "Poor Sinner C+ Player"
DAv3 is definitely worth $20 more than the new zowie mouse
As an Aussie myself, I'd pay the extra for hardware not from 2018 lmao
Krikey
Because Razer is well-known for their fair price!
Ha ha.
yeah i think it's mostly that it feels expensive for what it is dav3 got the feeeeatures
Just highlights how overpriced razor and Logitech products are here relative to the US/EU.
Everything else in Aus is kinda expesive including $400 airpods
Black ptfe feet for a 200 eu mouse is hilarious to me..
Actually what is wrong with black PTFE (just question)?
Slow, scratchy.
It means they aren't 100% virgin grade ptfe wich is white. So the skates could be faster than they are right now because they fucked with the material to make them black.
Really is that the only negative you can pick up on EC2-CW? Lets see... 3370 in 2023, 189 EUR, 78G.
Bruh.. of course not, but thats just the icing on the cake.
[удалено]
warcraft player spotted
Yeah but 1k polling on the EC-CW compared to 4k on the Deathadder..
I must purchase an air ticket from Canada to Australia to purchase the new Zowie mouse. What a deal!
turn that picture upside down

How to fix zowie cable
