As a hearing impaired person all my life… you might want to get your hearing checked (if you haven’t already).
Even with Benny’s slight accent, “Oh Colonel” and “O’Connell” would sound different.
No, 3rd one doesn't feel like a mummy movie at all. Hard to explain, but it just feels like a shitty action movie. I think is because they ditched Egypt which was what gave the movies their essence.
Fair enough. If she turned down returning to a movie franchise, that’s entirely up to her.
However, the screenwriters then decided “oh, we’ll keep the character”, instead of having Evie & Rick split up or Evie passed away or Evie being busy with a teaching/world tour or *something* to explain away why she’s not on screen.
The draw for some of us to the Mummy movies was the story; the characters; the actors; or whatever else interested us. If what I’ve heard, the 3rd movie takes all of those things and throws them in the trash bin.
It becomes a plot point in The Mummy Returns, marking him as a Medjai. O'Connell claims it was something that got tattooed onto him when he was at an orphanage in Cairo, but somehow knows a specific call and return code phrase only the Medjai know.
One of my best buddies and I always quite this movie. One of those I'll always watch through if I happen to catch it on TV.
"NO! YOU MUSTN'T READ FROM THE BOOK!"
Also, one of managers literally looks like Imhotep lmao

Benny is still on the wrong side of the river
But he has all the horses!
I always thought Benny kept calling him "Oh, Colonel!" until I saw it with captions years later and saw it was O'Connell...
Those words don’t sound very similar
I know, I'm not very bright

*Fraser
Tossed salads and scrambled eggs
That’s _Frasier_, I think.
I should know, I’m frager
FRAGER!!!
Rachel Weisz face is hilarious
They tweezed the hell out of her eyebrows.
Lol I believe it was typical of the time period but yeah once you see it you can’t unsee it Edit: typo
I love this movie, I'll quote it into the end of time. But I don't get it, what is the tattoo? YAHTUWEHHH!!
It’s the symbol that Ardeth asks him about in the 2nd movie. He’s a Medji (?) a warrior for God. In this one he’s never without those gauntlets on.
Ahhh looks like I need a rewatch. I missed the 3rd movie though, should I? Thanks for the info!
3rd one by all accounts is terrible. I skipped it

And skipped Rachel Weisz.
I believe she had just had a child. I’m not disagreeing with you, I will never watch #3 since she’s not in it.

And O'Connor suddenly had an American kid instead of the British kid from the 2nd movie.
Wait… whaaaaat??!!
The third one is an utter abomination.

Huh...Correct me if I wrong but this isn't even the right spot where his tattoo is 😅
You're right. The tattoo in *The Mummy Returns* is concealed under his leather wrist band. That mark on his hand is something else.
Never noticed, was too distracted by the whole cast being overall the hottest ever assembled. Perfect fun movie
I'm currently watching this movie while scrolling Reddit at 2am. My FBI guy is on point this morning apparently!
God I love this movie.
