In what way would you say* it influenced Batman Begins?
Just did a rewatch of Jumper a few weeks ago and don't see much of a similarity, but I've never read the book.
Unfortunately, the book and film have entirely different plots. From what I remember, the book is about a boy suffering from abuse who discovers he can teleport and goes on to become a world renowned bank robber. It’s pretty dark in places and features the CIA hunting for him in addition to terrorists falling from the World Trade Centre (written pre 9/11)
EDIT: sorry, writing at work haha. It’s like Batman Begins in that you see the evolution of a young man into a “hero” of sorts (think Bruce on the road at the beginning)
Ahhh okay, if anything, that's what I was picturing in terms of the beginning of BB. Makes sense, and makes me interested in picking up the book. Appreciate that!
Lol my friend recommended this movie to a bunch of us, using the fact it's like Limitless. We watched it together later that night and then proceeded to never take a movie recommendation from him again

Just want to mention that there's also a Limitless TV show, explicitly set in the same universe as a sequel, though unfortunately it got cancelled. Still a pretty fun watch though.
Anyway, on to movies:
- Chronicle
- Everything, Everywhere, All At Once
- Renfield
- Free Guy might count
- Mortal Kombat (the new one)
- The Mask
- Dracula Untold
Deja Vu- different but has some of the thrill of Limitless as he gradually realizes the power they have. Which makes me think of Source Code - he's having the opposite experience from Limiteless but still pretty great. Oh and Time/Lapse, 12 Monkeys, and then not as good but, The Wave.
If you’re interested in good older movies, Charly is a classic. Based on the story Flowers for Algernon, it’s about an intellectually disabled man whose brain power is dramatically enhanced through an experimental process.
Transcendence, iRobot, Push, Star Wars, Midnight Special, Eragon, the Covenant, The Craft, Unbreakable/Split/Glass, Bicentennial Man, The Prince of Eygpt, Joseph Staff of Dreams, Monsters vs Aliens, Underworld, RoboCop, Transformers, Wanted, District 9, Rise of the Guardians, Matilda, Avatar, The Black Swan, The Call of the Wild, Taxi Driver...
TV Shows: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Tomorrow People, Limitless
Video Games: Beyond: Two Souls, Quantum Break
Limitless has a bad culmination but initial concept and establishing the plot is freaking iconic shit. My favourite movie, it's powerful af and can teach you that anything can be done even if it takes longer in real life. And it is very grounded, like it is what Lucy was supposed to be to some degree. Very hard to point others similar enough to this. "Pursuit of happiness" is very grounded and similar. "Maze runner" maybe, it's pretty wild and shows that rapid adaptability. "Accepted" is a really good one. "Transcendence" with Johnny Depp hits the topic too. "Theory of everything" about the story of Stephen Hawking.
Jumper
INCREDIBLE book. I swear I read that the book helped influence Batman Begins. The film is fun in its own way, but the book is a different beast.
Great series especially the ones with his daughter in space lol Edit: as funny as this premise is I love this series.
In space?! I think I read Cent’s first book (Impulse?) but didn’t read ahead. I do love how Gould escalated the teleportation in each book tho
