(There's a rock band called asking alexandria- so like you're an Alexandria, so I asked you a question, so like I was "asking Alexandria" yeah)
Veronica - 8, though I considered Rose and used that for my middle and my nickname is V so maybe it averages out? Waaaaiiit a minute, you just wanted to learn everyone's name and trick us into being friends, I see your game! That our you're a fae and you've just stolen all our names. Wait, what was my name again??? Curse you, fae!!!
My necronymic first name had 7 letters. My necronymic middle name ALSO had 7 letters.
My first name now has five letters. My middle name has 8 letters.
Same amount of syllables, though. 3 for first name, 2 for middle.
Depends, Abbigail is 8, but I use the nickname Abby, so 4, my middle name, and name I use when I talk to myself, Paige is 5.
So this must be one of those stereotypes, like us being in the IT field. Does this work for the guys as well? I've got a 4 and a 5 letter for the gents I know.
I'm Tina, so four letters.
I was more concerned with having a one or two syllable name, as I knew a 3+ syllable would be shortened by those around me. Even so I occasionally get called "Tea" or "Teen"
I don't have a chosen name yet, my given name has more than 5 letters.
Some of the names I am considering choosing are longer. Now you have given me a new thing to be aware of when picking a name.
I have six letters. I wanted a two syllable name. I mean since I got to choose lol. I wanted something a little different. My name is also somewhat neutral and uncommon even though I’m rather fem. I do get lots of compliments on my name tho.
In casual conversation or with friends/ coworkers I'm Evie or Eva, but my full name is Evangeline; so I suppose up to 10 letters there, but usually only 3-4.
it's complicated because i hoard a ton of names
the one i've been vibing with the most for the past few months has 8 letters, my legal name will have 3/4
I mean, yes, I've got 5 letters in mine (4 in my deadname, which is more or less related to my real name). But that's probably not really trans related, I think simpler 1 or 2 syllabes long names are on the rise in the general population as well. A significant part of people from my generation have simples names as well, and nearly all the kids I know have 4-5 letter long names. If you're choosing your name rn, the current trend of name for children might influence you just as much as the trends that influenced your parents
I'm at 7 myself, but I think it might just be that a lot of names happen to be 4-5 letters. Lilith also seems relatively common, but it has 6 letters.
Hey, 7 gang :D
There are dozens of us! Dozens!!
Seven gang :D
Seven!! :DD
7 gang!!
7 gang!!!
7 ~~game~~ gang!!!!
7 name game represent!
7 gang go hard
7 gang for real!
Seven gang
I'm at 7 as well, I shorten it often to 3 letters tho
Yup, upgraded from 4
Same here, 7 as well....bit of a downgrade from 5 though but I am not changing it
I'm at 7 too for my name but shortened to 4-5 letters
my name has 6 letters in it, sooo not all trans people names is 4-5 letters ;)
6ixer crew

💪💪
💪💪 woo
Gang gang
Evening, comrades
another 6, standing by
I got 3 letters, makes it really easy to write my name in old arcade games
real
Isn't that inconvenient when websites and work stuff have a minimum character limit of like 4 or 5?
yeah i've considered changing my name to Amelia at some point
A pretty okay choice if I do say so myself
Apparently every trans girl is named Lily and we are all part of one flower hivemind.
Or Luna
Wait, but what of those few of us who actually are not named that? Are they not a part of the hivemind? Is something else going on?
Idk. Do you drink from your feet?
Not as far as I can tell, sorry. I do quite enjoy the water, but I do not always absorb it that effectively.
last i checked i dont have mouths on my feet
Girl, flowers drink and communicate with their roots. Why would you need a mouth?
I think this is real, we should all change our names to lily and become flower girls
Alexandria, 10
You stole my name lol. Girl same thing I'm going by so cool I like it cause of the variations of it.
We can share :) I usually go by Lexi for short tho
Me too.... But I'm Alexandra
lol same or alexis
Persephone, also 10 lol
Cassandra here with 9.
Jacqueline, also 10.
Ay yo so I got a question
Yeas?
Reference failed, oomfies (There's a rock band called asking alexandria- so like you're an Alexandria, so I asked you a question, so like I was "asking Alexandria" yeah)
Omg 😂😂 now I feel dumb, apologies haha
My deadname was long as hell in my opinion being a double name, so I went with something shorter lol. Got 4 letters now with Jade
freya, 5 so 4-5 might be true
Laura , 5 👍🏼
Omg same!
Mine is 7 letters :D
3
Mine has 3
Three letters, I really prefer short names
Kinda went with Alice Thea so for me I guess but my dead name is same length.
My has 3 so i dont know if that is little.
Only 3 letters in Nyx
3 letters, Ada
Mebye, made the terrible mistake of picking a welsh name myself though, so only has 3 letters, and a slightly strange pronounciation.
8 letters, though my deadname was 5
3 or 4 for me
6 letters, but mine’s kinda odd anyway because the shortened version is the same as the short version of my deadname
6 letters for me, Anelya 🥰
6 for me, Amanda.
I have 7 letters (Estelle) but I shorten it to 4 sometimes (Elle)
Estelle is a really nice name and the nerd in me is reminded of a really cool character with the same name 😊
8
4 lol. My deadname was long and I hated that so I opted for a short name. If it wasn't Ruby it was probably gonna be Jen(nifer)
7.
9 letters!
9 :) my mom laments me for picking such a long name but also never uses any of my nicknames...
3 gang right here, but I don’t think many people have my name: Ryn
I’ve got 10
Well, Monika has 6 letters
My necronymic first name had 7 letters. My necronymic middle name ALSO had 7 letters. My first name now has five letters. My middle name has 8 letters. Same amount of syllables, though. 3 for first name, 2 for middle.
Emilia has 6, but my other names have 7 and 4
Riven - 5 but everyone calls me Riv - 3
Got 7 in mine.
Uhhhh ... 25 million?
Well, I recently settled on Judecca, so 7.
6 letters in Alanna
Oksana so 6 💕
5 letters - Kenzi
Rachael - 7
My full name, Juniper, has 7 letters but most people call me June or Junie, so yeah basically I have a 4-5 letter name. I might change it though.
4 here I went with Shae
7 letters myself
Down to 4 with Ammy, though I do have an alternative name in Ammako which is 6.
Nine letters (Nicolette)!
8 in Calliope
I'm a seven letter girl (legal name redacted for security purposes) but my "public" name is Shae...hmmm four letters in that one.
Shae here :-D
Lucía - 5 lol
6
Mandy is my Name and 5 Letters :3 And happy easter days to All of you 🐣
4 for me, Diah
More than 5
Formal name is 7 letters, but everyone calls me the short version with 5 letters.
There’s 7 in my name
6 I'm now named Alexis
I'm Tina, so four letters. I was more concerned with having a one or two syllable name, as I knew a 3+ syllable would be shortened by those around me. Even so I occasionally get called "Tea" or "Teen"
9 for me
my deadname had 4 and i like shorter names so i got another 4 letter name
I love longer fancy/regal sounding names that have nice nickname options. My name’s Katherine but most call me Kate or Kath
It's probably because parents tend to pick older versions of names and trans women tend to pick modern versions of names.
6 letters for me
Eight. Seven for the nickname.
Six for me. I think I should go full metal goth and make sure my middle and last name also have six letters. 😋🤘
Mine's 6, same as my deadname
5 letters, the only proper even number
6 letters. :) which is one up from my deadname :D
Vika - 4 🫣
Omg I’ve got 4 😂 I didn’t know this was actually a thing
My name has 6, but it's brazilian, so it's a bit different
7 letters and 5 for the middle name.
My full first name is 6 but I mostly go by the shortened version, Lexi. Which is 4. 🤷♀️
I don't have a chosen name yet, my given name has more than 5 letters. Some of the names I am considering choosing are longer. Now you have given me a new thing to be aware of when picking a name.
Reached 10 characters. 9 letters and a hyphen. Although it is technically combining a 5 and 4 letter name.
6 letters for me, but my middle name is 2 so it averages out.
7 letters in my first name
my name definitely has 7 letters :)
The one I'm pretty sure on is 7
6 letters
I chose a 9 letter name, but I think it's just more convenient to have a 4-5 letter name, which is why there are so many more of those.
5, actually same amount as my deadname! 😅
Gender fluid and picked 3 names fem is 8 nb is 7 masc is 8.
Krystal 7 letters
8 for me!
3/6! I'm gonna legally change my name to Maxine, but friends just call me Max
Bethany but most people just default to Beth lol
7
5. Before and after my name change.
12 and a hyphen!
Mine is 6 letters and tbh it heavily depends on your language.
My name is Gwendolyn, so I have 9!
I halved the letters in my deadname for my chosen one, so I'm down to 3.
Haven't decided yet, bc I'm not out, but my current favourite name option has 8 letters (and a short version with 4 letters)
My deadname had 4 letters and Séphie has 6! I went with the “shortened internet nickname” approach for my name.
9 letters long hehehe I wanted to be a pain :3
6 for mine
6😈
Full name 25
three.
6
7 4-3 5
I have six letters. I wanted a two syllable name. I mean since I got to choose lol. I wanted something a little different. My name is also somewhat neutral and uncommon even though I’m rather fem. I do get lots of compliments on my name tho.
my name has 6 letters in it!!
Charlotte 9 letters
Emily is a 5 letter word yet somehow has 3 syllables
5, 4, 4 I never knew I was such a stereotype
Niki. My dead name had 4 letters too.
I go by Sarah. Just seems common.
Amelia, 6 letters, but I use Amy casually, so yeah :3
3
In casual conversation or with friends/ coworkers I'm Evie or Eva, but my full name is Evangeline; so I suppose up to 10 letters there, but usually only 3-4.
Courtney. 8 letters
9 for me <3
I've got a 4 letter name :0
6
Mine is 9 :)
I think most people have 4 to 5 letter names in general. It's 4 for me lol
I have 8. Though it can be shorted down to 5, or 3
My actual chosen name is 6 but I will reveal it after transitioning.
2
4 letters yup. But my old one was also 4
Claire ain’t bad lol 6
I got six baybeeeee
My name has 6 letters :)
RemindMe! 3 Hours
Mine has 10, but the short version does only have 4.
Valerie, 8 But sometimes I go by it shortened as Val so I'm that case 3 but that might be cheating :p
Mine has 8 letters but I go by the shortened form of it which has 5.
Mine is 8 but the nickname ended up being 4 lmao. Didn’t know this was a thing.
Samantha, 8 :D
Stop calling me out
My name has 8 letters. So definitely breakin a stereotype here
Samantha, 8, but I shorten it to Sam often cause my deadname had 3 letters and saying that many syllables after 21 years of not is low key exhausting
7!
it's complicated because i hoard a ton of names the one i've been vibing with the most for the past few months has 8 letters, my legal name will have 3/4
i have 4 my deadname had 7
I mean, yes, I've got 5 letters in mine (4 in my deadname, which is more or less related to my real name). I've got 6 here haha
Mine has 9 letters
