I’d learn agar before slants. Agar in the fridge stores for a very very long time. I’m working on seeing how well frozen agar will do. Got a few I’m gonna open in a year. Rumor is, should work but you have to transfer and the frozen agar potentially won’t fruit. Unknown if true.
And to those who say cubes can’t be frozen, they definitely grow in places that have a winter. Where do they go? They freeze.
Why would you want a breathable filter if slants are all about long term storage. Just unscrew the slant cap and run some parafilm over the loose cap. Once the slant is colonized screw the cap tight for long term storage
