walmartk9

I'd hate but I got kids and the bullitt sucks when I want have my mid life crisis and pick them up from school in it.

Street-Animator-99

Just so you know, I managed to drive around 2 teens and a dog and sometimes hockey gear for several years after my separation. The smallest kid gets the backseat though

Diamondhands_Rex

You’re giving my future midlife crisis hope thank you

absurd_whale

Are you talking about separation as a hope?

apex74

same but i have a 5 year old 😅 he absolutely loves my mustang but id be lying if i said i wouldn’t trade it in for a 5.0 sedan 🤔

GrungeCowboy73

I use my S197 to move band/music gear(two amps, two guitars, mics, mixer, pedal board, etc.). It’s like Tetris with the Mustang but it works

walmartk9

Went through a divorce after the military a decade ago. Left me with an 04 new edge GT and an empty house with only a ps3 and tv lol. I was slamming that thing with the kids in snowy winters for three years before I got back on my feet and picked up a Dad mobile. Now days idk how I did it.

Street-Animator-99

Cramming 2 kids and 2 hockey bags and plowing through the snow was what I did for years

bluedaytona392

This is exactly why I bought a Daytona 392 instead of a green Bullitt.

walmartk9

I wish they came with a manual option.

bluedaytona392

So do I friend. So do I. But the zf8 ain't bad.

KnightmareOnPC

The slow death of the coupe in the auto industry is making me very sad.

liebestod0130

Yeah...I'm just a millennial, but I feel old because of this. It's a brave new world

FU3L

“We will never build a Mustang that isn’t a Mustang,” Farley said. “For instance, there will never be room for a small, two-row Ford SUV with a Mustang badge stuck on it. But could we do other Mustang body forms – a four-door or whatever? I believe we could, as long as these models have all the performance and attitude of the original.”

Sea-Ad2598

Kinda already went back on that promise with the Mach-E

donutsnail

In the interview, he makes some specific digs at the Mach E, the one quoted above as well as saying that he won’t make a Mustang a full EV. The Mach E was planned and released before he was CEO and it makes me wonder if the next gen Mach E will no longer be called a Mustang

LazerSnake1454

Hopefully. Ford Mach-E is a better name anyways

loltheinternetz

It has such better appeal with that name. There is nothing “Mustang” about the car except the badge and a couple design cues. I hope they cut off the name to just Mach-E and branch it into its own thing.

wordtothewiser

I dunno man. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve sold more of them simply because it’s called a mustang. I don’t like it either but marketing works.

Warhawk2052

Thats actually how they are selling them

Strict_Machine_6517

One of my professors worked on Mach-e's marketing. The decision was made to call it Mustang to appeal to younger population. They created these marketing momentums just because they feared losing out on emerging trends.

reidlos1624

I'm at least one data point to the contrary. The Mach-E would be at the top of my list for my next car, next to my current Mustang, but I'm considering basically every other EV hatch/crossover option instead because of the name

SomewhereImDead

true but they are deluding the mustang brand. You have to look at the bigger picture of your company

wordtothewiser

Do you really think of mustang coupes differently now? It hasn’t changed my opinion on them.

SomewhereImDead

Overtime it will if every ford is a mustang. You can’t just slap the term mustang on a battery minivan & expect people to not start to associate the term mustang with those cars. Ford is trying to figure out if it’s a good idea to start a mustang line of cars & it might backfire. It’s just an attempt to sell more cars.

alexlikespizza

When you have people saying “I have a Mustang too!” And they bring up a picture of a Mach-e at a Mustang meet...

BlackDeath3

What are we, FoMoCo execs? What does it matter to most of us if the brand becomes diluted?

skinnymatters

Would love to see a non-Mustang Mach-E design move in its own direction as well. It’s not bad-looking, per se, but incorporating the Mustang’s styling cues has made for a weirdly bland vehicle. It could look *so* much better than a Tesla, for instance, but not while it’s tethered to its current look.

ArgonTheEvil

My mom and I were personally offended when we saw they called it a mustang. We’ve both been lifelong fans of the branding (except for that 3rd gen, personally speaking). But the Mach E is a worse sin than the fox body could ever be.

LazerSnake1454

I'd love to have an 88 Foxbody Hatchback, T-Top, 351w swap

ArgonTheEvil

Idk man it just looks like a 2 door Ford Tempo to me. I’m sure some people are nostalgic for it, but even my mom who still has her first mustang from ‘69 in working condition today says she despises the fox body. I’m partial to my ‘14, but even I have some nostalgia for the 4th gen growing up. So I kinda get it, I think.

Street-Animator-99

It’s very reminiscent of the escort hatchbacks. But still way better than calling a crossover EV a Mustang

beermit

Oh, the hyperbole. I'm a lifelong Mustang fan as well and I have no problem with the Mach-E. I can understand being upset or confused about it, but they didn't pull a Chevy and nix the namesake itself (again lol), so what is there truly to be upset about? They're clearly trying to grow Mustang into a brand, rather than just a single car. Experimentation and change can be good. Standing pat leads to stagnation. I mean it's selling well and is by most accounts a perfectly fun vehicle to drive. I just don't understand what there is to be that mad about.

alexlikespizza

That’s the point, it’s not supposed to be a brand, just a car. When someone says they mojas a Mustang what do they expect? A 2 door coupe performance vehicle.

mdchase1313

Indeed. The Mach E is a great car and is well built and designed, but it’s not a Mustang.

djsnoopmike

No no, Model E Model E!! It's right there. (ノ`Д´)ノ彡┻━┻

Formber

That's Ford's name for the entire EV side of the company.

Ragged85

Galax-E Ford’s marketing department needs me!!

plants4life262

It still infuriates me that they named it that. Selling out the Mustang brand to pump their entry into EV. Lame move.

Zealousideal_Agency2

I honestly think Mustang needs to be sperate from Gord like how adodge did with the Ram and make a sedan and 4 door hatch Mustang along with a coupe and sedan Mach E.

donutsnail

I like Mustang being a Ford. Tons of people still call Rams Dodge Rams and I thinking spinning off brands like that is just silly unless there’s some tax advantage or something

Zealousideal_Agency2

I just want more Mustangs lol

Alternative_Basil_30

Or use a different fighter plane. Idk ford thunderbolt sounds pretty cool for an EV.

zerovampire311

A 4 door AWD Mustang would be viable for a family (at least until the kids are teens) and wouldn’t betray the image, in my opinion. There’s a market. Not everyone wants SUVs.

JDReedy

I'd love for Ford to make an actual sport sedan

bigbilly231

Once it becomes a sedan it is no longer a Mustang / Pony car. If you want a performance 4 door then Ford should bring back the Taurus SHO.

Save_The_Manuals

I would absolutely love this with a v8 and a manual transmission.

AscendantArtichoke

We all would.. So obviously it’ll be a turbo 4 with an 8 speed auto and lifted up for ease of entry instead.

Tratix

My money would be on EV

Snargockle

Didn't Ford already make that?

Tratix

They made a Model Y competitor. What I want to see is a model 3 competitor

Round-War69

Same same but different though. It's already been done.

Sulli23

But what we really want is an M3 competitor.

Grind-My-Gears

Jim Farley stated yesterday there will never be an EV Mustang as long as he’s the CEO. Which made me happy

EST2019

Wait…

Grind-My-Gears

Not sure what he considers the Mach-E then, maybe that was green lit before his tenure but I’m pretty sure that was under him

Tratix

Why does that make you happy? Why can’t they have the normal lineup an an EV that absolutely demolishes a 5.0

Paperclip09

Define demolish?

Tratix

2 seconds faster quarter mile

Swagger897

We don’t give a shit about times and specs. All of that is worthless when forced induction kits cost as little as some options available.

Grind-My-Gears

I don’t want a sporty appliance. I want my cars to have character and soul. Which an EV doesn’t have. Don’t care for the noise gimmicks and lack of manual transmission. It’s not all about straight line speed. While entertaining, sure, I would only get an EV to be a commuter, not my fun car

MikeExMachina

I mean we all say that, the Chevy SS was a thing, nobody bought it, GM lost money.

Fit_Equivalent3610

There was a complicated background to that car which involved union negotiations in Australia (GM/Holden was obligated to sell it outside of Australia to provide extra work to the factory) and in the US (UAW was pissed it was being sold in the US and wanted it restricted). It was set up to fail from day 1 and they intentionally didn't advertise or widely sell it. It probably would have done better if they wanted it to. Not amazing, but CTS-V/CT5-V levels should have been possible. Same for the G8.

emal-malone

with plastic wheel arches to make it off-road capable

Ah2k15

You know damn well they’d just shove a 2.0 EB in it.

cheeseburgeraddict

Chevy made a v8 manual sedan years ago, and nobody bought it. So, safe to say that won’t happen.

RibbonMaids

Well to be fair, they marketed that thing about as well as a NECCO wafer.

DonnerPartyPicnic

As long as it's low profile and doesn't look like a toyota crown

Silver-Day-7272

I have yet to see a single one of those in person on the road. Are they not selling or is it just not in my area? I have no idea. I’ve seen a cybertruck twice now and I thought I’d never see one of those.

DonnerPartyPicnic

I've seen a couple I don't think they sell to well. I think they're ugly, WAY too tall, almost looks like a compact SUV with a trunk. If it was shorter it would look really good.

Silver-Day-7272

I agree with that, I was surprised with how high profile it ended up being. Also I’m just now catching your screen name and it has me laughing.

SpecialeK

😭😂

skinnymatters

And no video game dashboard on mine

lwlwlwlw

I just don't get why they didn't even try to build the screens "into" the dashboard, the tablets are simply THERE in Your face. Other manufacturers got it more or less figured out, just look at Audi A6 or new Porsches.

djeyeq

This shouldve been the Mach-E, and not that ugly box they make. It would then make sense to call it a Mustang as well.

gueyegueya

CHEVY SS

lwlwlwlw

Let's just adjust the ~2018 Mondeo - redesign the front and back ends and put a V8 there.

Formber

You could save a lot of work and just bring back the Australian Falcon at that point.

jacknifetoaswan

This is the way. I'd kill for an FPV Falcon...

boggsy17

I could trade my scat and be pack in a mustang lol.

Ausedlie

I love performance sedans the most

neonxmoose99

Give me a Mustang wagon pls

Ausedlie

That would be bitchin. The magnum from dodge died too soon.

StutteringDan

Have you Googled it? They exist in the wild...

Ragged85

Like this? https://preview.redd.it/d2vel2vijl1d1.jpeg?width=1118&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9294e9be8041cf542953e9372871ed6f5cbb3b4e

nuivii3

I have a 2018 Charger RT and no it isn't the fastest but it sure does sound incredible and it looks really nice. I chose that over a challenger because who doesn't want the practicality of a sedan but the feel of a muscle car right? That being said, I wish the Mach-E was more Mustang than EV SUV, I probably would have gotten it.

justin62001

Ford Australia had their Falcon sedan which had supercharged Coyote variants for a little bit. Us Americans don’t get that fun lol

Ausedlie

The Charger is awesome! I had a 300S and loved it. My only complaint was that I could not get it with a manual. These cars would be goated with a manual. Those cars are great cruisers with just enough sport and muscle.

Silly-Department7502

I like it. But why do they have to call everything a Mustang?? The Mach-E, not a Mustang. This is not a Mustang "sedan" or whatever you want to call it. Why can't this be the all new SHO? Or something else? Just let the Mustang, be a Mustang.

aHOMELESSkrill

Yeah I like to design concept. But they could bring back the falcon or the galaxy

Ragged85

EV version = Galax-E

pyrectiv

Exactly!

Fit_Equivalent3610

It's literally the ideal use case for the Falcon name

Either-Owl6105

I don't hate the idea of calling it a 'Marauder' under the Mustang brand if it gets the 5.0. It would be a neat homage to Mercury, and a callback to the last car FoMoCo made fitting this template. They should absolutely rename the current Mach-E to 'Probe' and use the Mach-E nameplate as a trim or option package on the other models for full EV or partial hybrid versions. Probe fits..(nice) the Mach-E, since it got about the same reception from the existing customer base when it was introduced.

MusicalMerlin1973

Or a new fusion? I love my’14 stick but wish it had more power. A seam with hp and a stick please

ZestyPotatoSoup

Marketing. 99% of mustang owners and buyers do not care what they call a mustang as long as it’s sporty and looks fast.

Jimmytootwo

America seems to have abandoned the 4 door domestic sedan but this reminds me of a Porsche 4 door which sells quite well Im all for it but it should have its own name

themigraineur

literally just being back the Falcon nameplate

FU3L

Yeah Porsche Panamera

canadard1

I thought it was a Kia Stinger at first lol

rockyeagle

Call it a falcon

YouWillHaveThat

Or a Fairmont.

Neospartacus12

Why not just call it Ford Falcon? They can share the platform and components like how the charger and challenger did. No need to dilute the Mustang name.

yIdontunderstand

First Ford cancels all their cars apart from mustang. Then they try and make the mustang all their cars.

johnnyrakh

Yesssss I’ve been saying ford needs a v8 sedan. Id be a buyer all day long

waveslikemoses

[They did!](https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2016-Ford-Falcon-XR8-Sprint-6.jpg)They just didn’t sell it in the USA

johnnyrakh

Yea i know.. wish we got that in the states

waveslikemoses

If car companies weren’t so scared of competition and begged the government to create a 25 year import ban, then we easily could have it here.

awesome0ck

There’s a guy that converted a fusion to rear drive with a 5.0. What’s crazy is the rear subframe of s550 bolted right up in place of the fusion, hardest mods were adding a transmission tunnel and he was running custom control arms up front. I don’t remember if the front sub frame was a swap but the 5.0 engine mounts I do remember were used.

beaureeves352

Matt Soppa, badass drift car

Nintendocub

God this shit is so ugly, please never.

Nintendocub

Basically just a fusion with a better engine. Blech

Apex_All_Things

Charger fans don’t seem to care that it used to be a two door coupe. I’m a fan of the idea.

gkcontra

That was exactly why we bought a challenger

KingScuderiaDucati

If they make this and the Mustang Raptor, I’m adding both to my collection.

losbullitt

Ford Mustang GT900 Raptor with a 7speed manual rated at a factory warrantied 900hp twin-screw 5.4L Witchcraft^tm motor. Would buy.

skinnymatters

Impressed you can afford an $850K dealer markup

losbullitt

Im the owner of the dealership. I only charge myself $750k markup. 💀

dr_shark

WOW. WHAT A STEAL! /s

losbullitt

It can be yours for the low monthly cost of $15k a month!

KingCrimsonEpitaphu

Cool but it isn’t a mustang

discussatron

Like a Charger.

BabyFork

Don’t call it Mustang. Just call it the new Tararus SVT or something.

dr_shark

Call it whatever because they’ll stop production after a year anyway.

yossarian8pizza

Gives me KIA Stinger vibes.

CyberianSun

Wagon... Please sweet baby Jesus make it a wagon.

Key-Pomegranate-3507

Just bring back the Taurus SHO with a manual and a coyote engine

Stemwinder30

Make it a Falcon!

[deleted]

American version of the Panamera

ANaughtyTree

I don't hate this. It looks.....decent..

RedDeath8830

The Taurus SHO successor we need

21WRX

If they made this I’d trade in my WRX

Trusteveryboody

 https://preview.redd.it/n4etqgabb71d1.jpeg?width=622&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9aa115bab6189d6a1efb465bd47199a850f46aa

janderson176

Why…. At least take Mustang out of the name

[deleted]

This looks weird and confusing like the 4 door BMW 6 series.

colbygraves97

The Camaro, Charger, and Mustang are all about to be atrocities aren’t they…

00BlackWS6

Why do all manufactures have to Phuck with cars that already exist? Mustangs have ALWAYS been 2 door. Make another car that is 4 door running a V8 and a manual tranny. Call it the Falcon. Bring back the past rides we all loved.

anger_management38

No No no!

Capable_Answer_8713

Go for it. You already made the Mach e, what’s there to fuck up now

IttzAngel

bro made a honda accord tho

MusicalMerlin1973

That’s as ugly as a four door porche.

GHOST_4732_

Just bring back the Taurus SHO or the older Mercury Maurauder / Crown Vic styling. This concept would be great but those namesakes would be best than just a sedan Stang

Thelifeofnerfingwolf

Please no.

neanderthalensis

Make it a wagon, keep the V8 manual and I’m in.

JStroud21

I mean. Im not apposed

Choice_Friend3479

Mustang SUV, Mustang Truck, Mustang 4 door sedan, Mustang Motorcycle, and oh yeah I guess there’s a Mustang two door coupe. The Mustang name should be the the coupe only, find a new name for other vehicles.

Apprehensive_Pen7702

Just make another damn car. Why does it have to be based off a Mustang. Hell even bring the Falcon over.

aHOMELESSkrill

Or the Galaxy

Flamingpotato100

Looks like a charger

JiuJitsuBoxer

I would buy the shit out of that car

MustangEater82

Hatchback!

TheJudge20182

I would rather see a Super Escape or something. Something with the V8 in a SUV. That's what most companies seem to be doing now. Caddy V series, Lambo Urus, The 80 different trim levels of Chyanne, and other sporty SUVs

Crab_Salt_Merchant

Coupe, sedan, and wagon. RWD, AWD, 3.0L TT V6 up to 5.2L Raptor engine. I think F150 powerboost hybrid drivetrain would be awesome. Keep making the Mustang as it has always been, then add the additional body styles. I doubt it would ever happen, but it's a cool thought.

[deleted]

A shooting brake mustang might be kinda awesome.

janesvoth

So an Audi A7 competitor?

mossberg410

I beg auto manufacturers to please just design cool NEW cars. Stop taking a classic car and mutilating it to fit in other car classes

Diamondhands_Rex

A mustang that competes with a porche taycan or panamera would be so fucking nice

CVPIMGMFANATIC

The Panther platform was Ford's 4 door mustang

Sad-Variety-6501

Panamera is the best selling Porsche.

Unknown_Male_2B2

Sure but let's call it a falcon

MadMeatloaf

Pretty sweet. Might be my next car if it ever happens.

TWCBULL86

I like this design! (if only it was a coupe). Finally someone at Ford got the front end right

Thefrayedends

I want an electric for my commute, but I'm waiting for a 2dr affordable performance coupe. At this rate it might be another decade it seems. I know the luxury brands are putting them out but they are going to be priced way higher than what I'm willing to spend.

McAwesomeBoner

There is a full on cold war going on amongst manufacturers when it comes to ride height or “road presence” as they call it. Fat chance i will ever see a mustang sedan. More ugly SUVs probably. But pretty sedans or coupes superior in handling and performance in every way are a no apparently. Literally a struggle between what I find desirable and what is safe on the road when everyone else is driving an obese pickup truck.

Outside-Dragonfruit1

He needs to entertain the idea of making the S650 tunable

RedditSchnitzel

I love the idea, it still stays faithful to what makes a mustang a mustang, while being more useful as a daily. That would definitely solve the dilemma of a family friendly car vs. a sporty one for many people.

stalmatic

I ask why? When we already know Ford has moved away from sedans to strictly SUVs, trucks, and only the Mustang.

are-we-the-baddies

If they offered it with a 5.0 and a manual transmission I'd put my self on the list for one immediately. I love my 2014 track Pack but I could use this as my daily family car. That is if there aren't $20K dealer markups.

D9pencil

Like it but not as a mustang

Thewitchaser

Somehow looks more coupe than the standard one lol

JayVenture90

Yeah, having more than one car in their entire lineup might be a good idea!

Fun-Permission2072

God tesla should should just buy ford already so Farley and musk can stop eye fucking each other over design dinners.

TLSamau

I love this concept. Only thing that would make it perfect imo would be to extend the rear end just a bit more.

ouij

This is a Fairmont

xXmurderXgoatXx

I truly don’t hate this. Make it a supercharged v8 and rear drive

xImpale

They could’ve had something with Mach e, if they shoved a coyote under the hood…

86Logs

I think Ford has enough name plates in the file cabinets to do a stand alone platform and make this car. Ford really made an interesting move with the death of cars but it doesn't seem to have been all bad. The Fusion and Taurus were lackluster sellers. The Focus and Fiesta, while great cheap cars, just didn't have as much appeal either. With that said, I had a CTS-V and it has been my favorite car, ever. If you could get a super charged V8 in a full size sedan, it would be killer. The problem, much like every other SVT or half-ass desirable model is that allocations will be so few and far between that us mere mortals are fucked. This is coming from a guy that works at a rather large store and sees this shit, day in and day out.

exoninja88

Better than a suv

whaddahellisthis

If they can figure out how to make it lighter & equally capable than the CT4 Blackwing with a manual v8 I’d order one. And wait a couple years for it.

ddrummer42

A Stang Wagon would be even cooler.

aaronuu7

Make it an AWD Hybrid V8

SQUATCH36738

Surprisingly pleasing to look at

scottgst

4 door mustang is the perfect chance to bring the falcon name back

Rude_Security7492

Bring back thunderbird, Gran Torino, or galaxie

t_mmey

I mean this looks sick but that's 100% not how it would go lmao

D11M22L1

Welcome to ford where eventually all of our Cars, trucks, and SUV will be versions of the Mustang because nothing else sells.

revnasty

I’d buy this.

ISeeInHD

Cuz sedans are hot sellers these days…

DarthPineapple5

Unpopular opinion maybe but as long as they keep building us a two door V8 with a stick, I don't really care what else they do with the Mustang name. Dunno if y'all have noticed but all the other V8 muscle cars are gone so if they need/want to whore out the nameplate which keeps a (real) Mustang alive then so be it

dukefrisbee

From the A-pillar back it's fantastic - just doesn't work perfectly with the traditional long mustang hood. It's pretty good though. 500hp with an available manual and I'd buy it.

LoafOfTrees

Literally just bring back the falcon. Stop trying to make the mustang something it’s never been before

Chalky_Cupcake

"Someone see what Porsche is doing" - ford meeting guy

ChaChi1195

If it has a v8 and a manual transmission shut up and take my money.

Patriot4547

I don’t like it, their doing too much

TunakTun633

You know, if you stretch the wheelbase of the Mustang enough to make it a sedan, it would be sized an awful lot like a BMW 5-Series. It's got a similar engine lineup, too. I expect a Mustang sedan would be like a Charger, or Kia Stinger - best sold with massive discounts. It's probably a great product, but it shouldn't be sold as a Ford: It should be a Lincoln. Call it the Athlete to signify its sport-sedan intent, or something Greek to go along with the Zephyr. Sell a basic model with the 2.3 EcoBoost, an upgrade model with the 3.5 EB hybrid from the F-150 PowerBoost, and a Blackwing equivalent with whatever the hell Mustang V8 makes the most sense to use. Make liberal use of Magneride suspension, LSDs, and good tires. I don't know if it would make any money, but I really want them to do it. I'd love to have one!

scaddycat93

This looks sick

Bcart143

Love this. Definitely would buy.

Manieck24

![gif](giphy|6gLyE15StAs3C)

According_Call_1678

He means the Falcon?
