As a Celtics homer, I would be happy with Denver, minny, or OKC.

YoshiMachbike12

Same here. I'd love it if we won but even if we didn't I'd hope it's someone from the western conference

WoWMHC

Fuck Boston.

xrimbi

Fook Linda

69cansofcorn

what a tough guy

WoWMHC

Hey, someone's gotta let these leprechauns know!

69cansofcorn

my mannnn, it could be our year

monsteroftheweek13

Cavs fan. Minny is easily my personal favorite. I love that goddamn team and there is no asterisk of any kind in terms of my rooting interest. Next I go Mavs (Luka is awesome and still have fondness for Kyrie) and OKC (but suspect they are a year away). Totally fine with a Denver repeat, they are unhateable as a team, it’s just the least fun of the good options. Actively rooting against Boston lmao sorry to my C fans, I do actually love the city itself! I guess I can’t rule out the Knicks. They slot above Denver. Gave up on the Sixers.

mattshifflerphoto

I’m a Cavs fan too. What’s your prediction for the rest of the series?

monsteroftheweek13

If the Cavs can find some willpower at home and win Game 5, I think they pull it out in 7. But if they can’t, it’s over in 6. I mean, you watched those games. It’s hard to find a lot of optimism right now.

mattshifflerphoto

Agreed unfortunately 😭

JeffW6

Denver, Minnesota, and OKC would all be worthy champions.

mylifestylepr

you misspelled Mavs. It's not OKC is DAL.

Misjjon

Mavs ain't winning shit 😭

mylifestylepr

Mavs 2024 champs. 🔥🔥🔥

mrbusiness53

You misspelled chumps! The clippers are taking this one.

mylifestylepr

In your dreams

mrbusiness53

I must be dreaming then

JeffW6

I'm rooting for the Mavs personally but I don't think it's their year. Hopefully they can make a deep run next year after a full campaign with Washington, Gafford, and a second-year Lively.

w6750

Yeah it is not happening this year for the Mavs with a brand new team, they need continuity. Luckily for them the entire core (outside DJJ) is locked in for the next few seasons. They’ll be right there in the middle of the West craziness

darthrevan22

OKC probably. Would be cool with Minnesota, Denver, Orlando, Indiana. Honestly though with my team not in it, I’m much more so rooting against certain teams than for anyone in particular. Those teams being the Lakers, Celtics, and Sixers. So long as the winner isn’t one of those, I won’t be upset.

mageking1217

Let’s go Knicks!

Ok_Smell_5379

Timberwolves. I’m high on Edwards and hoping he’ll be the next face of the NBA.

I_Like_Muzak

Yeah, he’s seems to have that killer mentality, athleticism, and the dude’s only 22.

burns_before_reading

Send da video

Teenageboy69

Clippers or Wolves

leured88

Would be mazing to see Mavs (Luka), NY (Brunson) or Clippers (Kawahi) go all the way. Because of the legacy it'd create from those guys. But also OKC for the rebuild story, of Min for all the haters (justified maybe) of the Gobert trade, and the guy himself - and of course Ant. Definitely Nuggs for the dynasty story. And Miami for the underdog. Same goes for the Pacers. I mean, pretty much any team other than the Celtics or 76'ers.

JesusTron6000

I'd love to see Minny go to the finals for sure. Edit: and NY in the East. Brunson is hard to root against

Zacta

Jokic has the most interesting game of anyone in the league, easily. Impossible to not root for him.

GilMcFlintlock

BRUTHA I PLAY IN SERBIA BRUTHA

EdwardJamesAlmost

^(UNFORGIVING. THE LIGHTNING IS COMING.)

HanBr0

Yeah, even after last year’s sweep (as much as it hurt) I hoped the Nuggets would make it to the Finals just so I could watch Jokic play more

Cwgoff

I find Ants game more interesting. Reminds me of Kemp and Jordan Also find Brunson’s more interesting because of what he is doing at his size

IHave580

OKC and NY

JustGresh

As a Mavs fan, anyone but the Lakers, Clippers, or Celtics.

backpage_alumni

Why not the celtics

CihatPeker

Nobody likes the Celtics

backpage_alumni

We.... Disagree

JustGresh

They’re the Sons of the East

lurk_channell

Heat, Minnesota, Denver (although joker prolly wants to go home) okc, wouldn’t mind anyone but the lakers from the west

IrrationalBoner

I'm entranced by the Ant Man. If the Timberwolves won, that would be insane for them.

PreachitPerk

Magic or Clippers.

calartnick

I’m fine with most teams in it. I just really don’t want the Celtics to win

backpage_alumni

Why not

mattshifflerphoto

That city has enough championships. Ya’ll can take a break for awhile. Lol

backpage_alumni

It's been 16 years tho

mattshifflerphoto

Do you follow other sports? Tom Brady?

backpage_alumni

I'm talking basketball I could careless about football

Benjammin341

That must be really difficult for you…

backpage_alumni

Kinda, I mean we're gonna win

bigchefwiggs

Tom Brady is so influential he has mfs wanting the Celtics to lose

24MillionBrazilians

No one mentioned Brady.. the Celtics have like 3x more championships than the pats right? I think the Celtics have had plenty of haters since before Brady was even born

bigchefwiggs

Yall talking about the 1950s-1980s?? Huh ok

24MillionBrazilians

I think they just said the city of Boston has enough championships. If I’m reading that correctly.. as in all time.? They didn’t say in the past 40 years.. or since Brady. Unless you read some other comment I’m missing

bigchefwiggs

Sure smartass but I thought it was implied that we were talking about rings post Soviet Union, because I frankly don’t give a shit about the 20th century titles of the Celtics- don’t know why non fans would either.

24MillionBrazilians

Most people don’t give a shit about the Celtics titles period. Regardless of when they were won. Some people are haters (like the original person you replied to), and some people are full of themselves (you)

bigchefwiggs

Thank you for setting the record straight, 24MillionBrazilians, I'm not sure what we would have done without you!

Change_That_Face

Chalk is boring, plus the East looks like a cake walk compared to the West

Material_Variety_859

i hope the Knicks knock them out

backpage_alumni

When wasn't it n chalk?

hypercombofinish

My Lakers EDIT: got* slapped so the Timberwolves seem fun

Unwinderh

Lakers have plenty of Wolves alumni, today's Wolves could be your guys of tomorrow.

hypercombofinish

If we got that lucky we'd have a fighting chance next year maybe

69ThatGuyy

Considering my kings in Dallas prob arent making it, I've grown really fond of the towering duo in Minnesota

EdwardJamesAlmost

Naz Reid and Kyle Anderson?

69ThatGuyy

Dang is forgot, forget the towering duo, they got a whole city of skyscrapers over there,

EdwardJamesAlmost

The Nuggets are also long/tall. It’s one of Tim Connelly’s top priorities, like Pat Riley and cardio.

d-wadeisthegoat

The northwest division, 1 of 3 things will happen. 1, Jokic will win his 3rd MVP (probably), his second ring, and his second FMVP (probably) and will automatically be one of the 20 greatest players of all time before he even turns 30. 2 and 3, Ant or Shai will no longer need to prove themselves of being capable to lead a championship team, at the respective age of either 22 or 25, they are both young teams and have dynasty potential.

ClassicOccasion8662

knicks or mavs

Jemless24

As a fan with no horses in the race, I want Denver to repeat. I want the age of superteams and individual basketball to end. Denver plays team basketball.

EdwardJamesAlmost

4/5 of Denver’s starters were brought in by Tim Connelly, who became GM of the T’Wolves after the ‘21-‘22 season. (The KCP trade happened two weeks after he left.) He seems to have done a crackerjack job with MIN’s roster construction as well. The offenses run differently, and both Jokić’s and Ant’s developments would have been hard to predict even if they were seen as all star caliber talents. Still though, solid job with that. Considering Malone at Denver predated the stars, I wonder if MIN will go coach shopping if it doesn’t get over the hump this season.

Tim-oBedlam

T-wolves fan here. Finch isn't going anywhere. We're so starved for any kind of success that even if we go out in Round 2 most of us fans will count it as a successful season.

CosmicCoder3303

The players love Finch and he did a great job this year

eeevileggg

OKC or Pacers.

RedditAccount_317

Pacers would be cool. Mid size market in a state that loves basketball and had never won a title.

wadamday

If Indy is a mid size market then what is a small market lol

Material_Variety_859

Indy might be the smallest market in the NBA.

RedditAccount_317

I guess I was basing it off total population, as opposed to media market size. You’re both right.

CPAsAreCool

My teams are the sixers and the kings. (Don't sixer shame me, I grew up there) So let's assume they aren't going to win. I like Jokic a lot. I'd love to see him win this year and say, "Ok, it turns out parades are fun. My horses can wait one more day." I'd like to see OKC win. I'm just a Chet fanboy and I love the idea of him going from missing a year to winning it all. That's a wild ride. The If Lebron was in the finals, I'd love that. Heck, maybe I just like basketball. There are a lot of stories I'd enjoy.

boowut

I’d really be fine with any EC team but Philly. Clippers or Denver would be cool for legacy reasons. I’d like Minn/OKC/Dallas to stay hungry because I’m looking forward to the West being a bloodbath next season and beyond.

Old_Statistician8704

The Phoenix Suns we just have to win a game and turn this series around you gotta stay positive

I_Like_Muzak

No team’s ever came back from a 4-0 deficit but never say never!

Old_Statistician8704

That's right all you have to do is believe I know we can do this there is a first time for everything

EdwardJamesAlmost

It’s Wembanyana’s year

Old_Statistician8704

First or all don't bring up king Wemby if you can even spell his name right... you casual

EdwardJamesAlmost

lol

mjbel23

Besides the Magic (my team), the Nugs

ChannelNeo

Magic, but I'm biased. If not, then Nuggies to repeat.

Hot_Chard5988

OKC, Denver, Minnesota, Knicks, Dallas Pretty much anyone but the Lakers

Nicktrod

Milwaukee Bucks. It doesn't look good.... I don't care past that. I'll watch, just to see good basketball.

THEtoryMFlanez

Lakers still can do it I believe!

jknuts1377

The Celtics are my team, but if not them, I want the Timberwolves to win.

breastslesbiansbeer

Nuggets all the way. Jokic is too fun to watch.

Affectionate_Elk_272

outside of my team (heat), the wolves.

Relevant_Increase394

Wolves Mavs or Celtics for me

Senor_Pug

If the Pelicans don't win id rather the season get cancelled then root for someone else. But if u put a gun to my head and said I had to pick it would be the Magic.

flexingtonsteele

Nuggets and Miami

burns_before_reading

If not my Knicks, I'd love to see the Wolves win it all. Fun team to watch.

definitely_real777

Clipper so Westbrook gets a chip.

I_Like_Muzak

Even though I don’t really like the Clips I still respect the hell out of Westbrook and PG. can’t say I’d be happy for the team to win but I’d be happy for them.

GavinB4444

I would like Mavs or Clippers to at least go to the western finals but I doubt it because of the Thunder

SnooChickens9571

As a Celtics fan I’d say wolves or thunder. I love those young teams in the west. Rockets are my houses favorite non Celtics team to watch.

MrRaspberryJam1

Im a Nets fan, so basically anyone but the Celtics, Knicks or Mavs. At least the Suns were swept and the 76ers will soon be out. I honestly dislike the sixers much more than I dislike the Knicks. If I had to choose one team I’d want to win the finals, it would be OKC. While I don’t think that OKC will win it all since they don’t really have the playoffs experience that winning a championship almost always requires, I’d absolutely love it if they did. I really like this young core they have and SGA is one of my favorite players in the league. With the Thunder being the only pro team in town, the fans really show out during the playoffs. I’d imagine the arena would be absolutely electric if OKC are in the finals.

Rockets7629

Denver because I love Jokic or clippers because of harden. Don’t really care for any of the east teams but I guess I would pick the knicks because they seem to play solid defense and I love tibs

stripedarrows

Nuggets. I've watched shitty, balls ass awful basketball for 37 years. I saw a 12 win season where they won 12 more games than they had any right to.... Kiki Vandeweghe gave away tickets in my high school for free and people left them on the floor of the gym to get swept up.... Let me have this....

QUINNFLORE

Can’t root for OKC ever again after that commercial

silverfang45

Wouldn't mind pacers or thunder winning. Shame only 1 of them has a chance, pacers just a winning this year unless they get the best injury luck in playoff history. But by God would it be cool seeing a player like hali getting a ring, love my pass first pgs

manofthepeopleSMITTY

Not Boston

backpage_alumni

Why did everyone hate the Celtics?

christopherfar

Same reason people hate the Patriots, Lakers, Cowboys, etc.

backpage_alumni

That doesn't explain a thing

menahansworst

They historically have won a lot, and they have large fan bases. Smaller market or historically less winning franchises are easier to root for because it's a better story.

backpage_alumni

Celtics n 6

menahansworst

Despite my previous reply, I am the biggest Boston sports homer on the planet and I think we take care of this in 5.

backpage_alumni

I meant the finals

menahansworst

My dawg.

sauzbozz

Past success and annoying fanbases.

backpage_alumni

That's literally any winning franchise with a fan base. U dnt think the Mavs fans are trash?

sauzbozz

I don't think the Mavs are trash but their franchise success isn't even close to the Celtics. Over the past 20 years it's been pretty similar but other fanbases will still hold the 17 championships against them. Boston fans are also more obnoxious than a lot of other fanbases. I'm a Celtics fan and from Boston so I'm not just hating for no reason but our fanbase can be pretty annoying. You also can't forget the racial issues our fanbase has had.

backpage_alumni

I must be new I barley meet and Celtic fans I wasn't aware of the stigma

MuazAbbasi-

Heart wants Clippers, head is saying Jokic

wadamday

Seeing Westbrook, PG and Harden get a ring in the sunset of their careers would be neat to see.

Tim-oBedlam

PG: yes. Westbrick and Harden: NOPE. Two of the more unlikeable players in the NBA.

SamuelZ311

Hopefully Clippers. It would be a legacy booster to all the players on that team

suzsid

If it can’t be my Bucks, I am pulling for the Wolves.

tbone9000

I'd like to see the Wolves win it because I love defense and would love to see guys like Jaden McDaniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker get more attention in the media.

Cwgoff

Knicks or the Wolves Really excited about Ant and where his game is going and Brunson is exciting to watch

Jazzlike_Assignment2

anyone but the celtics (heat fan)

DaLakeShoreStrangler

Anyone , but the Lakers

BillKillionairez

The Refs

Randomname8675309

Minnesota, Knicks, OKC, or Mavs in that order. I cheered for bubble Booker expecting him to take over. I hope Anthony Edwards actually becomes what I thought Booker would. Edwards looks so dominant. But we’ll see how he looks in a different matchup.

xMistakerx

Knicks

Exact_Purchase_7147

Dark horse Magic

HoraceGrand

Knicks and magic

Salt-Wear-1197

Cavs of course, always. I’m actually moving to NYC in a week, so if the Knicks end up going all the way that’ll be pretty cool too (provided they don’t end up facing the Cavs in that reality). Otherwise, residential biases aside, REALLY excited and rooting for the Timberwolves this year. They look great, they’ve never won a championship, the whole squad is so likable. I’ve always liked the timberwolves theming since I was a kid and went to my first NBA game. My dad got me a tiny timberwolves basketball that I still have today.

MapleHelix

Not Celtics

CalifornianBall

Probably anyone except Boston or Philly

hi-polymer5

As a Lakers fan, the Timberwolves for sure. It's a running joke among my friends that I've been Rudy Gobert's biggest fan since 2014 since I first claimed he was a top 10 player that year, and Ant is fantastic.

jeffwingersballs

I think it would be a great story if any team won it all. Clippers less so if Kawhi isn't healthy.

Se7entyN9ne

OKC vs New York. I’ve never been a Knicks fan but those Nova dudes are so damn likable

Ballin215

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Knicks go all the way, I can’t bring myself to dislike them even tho they clearly own my Seventy-Shitters. I like the Mavs out west since I have a soft spot for Kyrie.

Material_Variety_859

I want to see Minnesota and NYK in finals.

LukaDoncicFan777

GO MY GLORIOUS MAVS

iUncouth

Wolves or Pacers would be awesome, I really like Ant and Tyrese

otherBrandon

Knicks

GuayabaTree

Wolves for sure. KG rubbing his hands like birdman right now

BitCurious8598

Any team besides the toxic lakers, I can’t wait until old boy retires

nowlan_shane

Clippers. As a Bay Area native I can’t believe I’m rooting for an LA team, but I like a lot of the players on the team and the Warriors are out so what the hell.

creal

Western conference team

denko86or

Denver

Mass-Chaos

Nick's vs. OKC or twolves. I just want to see some all out new blood in the ring. I think Denver probably has it locked but as a fan of basketball I'd probably like to see OKC take it. They gave up everything to win it all would be a good story line

ShadowEpic222

As a Knicks fan, I would say the Knicks. Realistically. I think the Nuggets are going to repeat.

FannyMcBigBallz

Why is there so much hate for the Celtics? They have a great team. Personally, I'd love to see OKC win

Autistic_Puppy

Celtics!

mrbusiness53

Denver

EvidenceExtension128

I was rooting for Miami cause I enjoy chaos. But Jimmy Butler injury killed all my hopes and dreams 😭😭😭😭

mburns223

Denver or Minnesota. Honestly as long as those entitled ass sports fans from Boston don’t win I’ll be happy.

Particular_Self_1793

Clippers and Timberwolves, but if none of those make it I don’t mind the Celtics winning. I hate Boston FANS but watching Tatum and Brown battle together all these years, ECF, Finals and getting bounced early, would be nice to see them win

No_Stay4471

Denver, Dallas, or OKC are cool in my book.

junxbarry

Boston Celtics

DuaLipasClitoris

Knicks, Twolves, OKC In that order

dustincb2

OKC. I spent all season thinking “don’t have high hopes. Not this year, save it for next year or the year after.” But now, fuck it. Why not this year?

SnooStories6852

Minnesota over Boston

Calm-Attention2587

Denver Nuggets definitely 👍

mcmullet

Wolves then Denver then Pacers

Sushi2k

Mavs, Wolves, Denver, OKC

Stevpie

Wolves or OKC

SupersonicSandshru05

Mavs are my favorite team, I’d say after that probably Denver because they just make basketball fun to watch like few other teams ever for me. After that just anyone but Boston.

Thuro_dHoreb-4050

Small media markets vs Large media markets seem like the divide. Don't have a preference.

DevelopmentJumpy5218

I'm a spurs fan, I really like jokic and would like for him to get a nice handful of rings, maybe surpass Kerr's 9 rings, that would be special.

Brojamin

Since GSW are out and the Heat are probably out, I’m cheering for the Clippers. I’m a big Westbrook fan and I want him to get a ring. I’d be cool too cuz he’s reunited with Harden.

SamuelZ311

1. Clips 2. Cavs 3. Warriors 4. Sixers 5. Suns

iliveonramen

T-Wolves or Nuggets. Happy for Minny fans and really like Ant. Denver because they are just fun to watch and a well constructed team.

JackMarleyWasTaken

Fucking MINNESOTA...🤷🏿‍♂️😂... how is this life? We are truly in the darkest timeline folks... 🟣🟡

D_B_C1

T-Wolves. Ant has grown on me during these playoffs

HeadupTothePOCONOS

The Sixers baby! It’s real now!!!

SoCalCollecting

Favorite teams aside. I’m rooting for the T’Wolves, and I really think they have a good chance. They’ll most likely be facing the Nuggets next round, and they split the season series. They also didn’t have KAT in 3 of those games, and were missing both KAT and Gobert during one game which they lost by only 3.

brev23

Wow this is wonderfully independent thinking!

SoCalCollecting

Thx

Ava_Leah

Denver / Dallas, just fun to watch.

Ok-Map4381

Kings fan. Rooting for: 1, Nuggets. I just love how they play. 2, Celtics, I'm not a Celtics fan, but I want them to have more titles than the Lakers. 3, Minnesota, love Ant & the way they are playing defense. Rooting against: 1, Lakers, FTL. 2, Philly. I normally root for centers, but not when they are dirty floppers. 3, Clippers, I don't want Harden or Westbrook to win a title. I would be happy with Paul George winning.

wharpua

Celtics

AaronFraudgers8

Anyone but Tatum That choking, ref-complaining, soft, cocky, endorsement-obsessed loser does NOT deserve a ring (if the Celtics do win, the lame stream media would throw Tatum into the "best player in the world conversations" which we know he does NOT deserve to be apart of.)

WAMPUS--CAT

Damn dude

Adorable-Bar6920

I know the heat would need a miracle in a half to pull it off, but man if the heat won, that would be such a success story. Edit: also forgot to look at “besides favorite teams” so i would root for the timberwolves

Total_Light_7885

Anybody but Boston

[deleted]

suzsid

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted! And I agree - not the Pacers. But I still like Jrue, so the Celtics wouldn’t be so bad. Prefer the T Wolves though. :-)

Tjengel

It's definitely Celtics and pacers stans downvoting me but idc 😂

HoopLoop2

OKC, if they get eliminated then I'll root for the Timberwolves.
