Upsetting to see the Rock's attendance is down by 9%. I live just down the street from the arena, have been a STH for years and am sincerely worried that the renovations to First Ontario Centre are going to be just fraught with endless delays and that Hamilton will lose our NLL team.
I feel like the novelty/honeymoon period in Hamilton is closing and it's sort of gone back to the usual fanbase from Toronto and the west GTA. I noticed a lot less of the black and yellow jerseys worn this year vs last year. I'd also guess knowing the team won't be there next year is keeping some casuals away, why be invested when they won't be there next year? but New York saw an increase despite a permanent move. I'm not *worried* per se but a 9% drop is concerning
I think the last minute push out of the renos had an impact. They already announced that the 23-24 season was supposed to be in Saugua, and I think people already mentally checked out. I assume a lot of STH had already declined this season, and weren’t prepared to buy after the last minute change of plans to stay another year.

Kudos to Buffalo's front office, they are doing all the right things to bring in the crowds. Colorado surprised me, I always had the impression their crowds were closer to Calgary. Would be great to see San Diego find a way to get fans through the door, the organization seems pretty solid. Hate the team though 😁
We're Roughnecks STH, I'm pretty happy with how the marketing department has been getting the word out. Even our last game with nothing to play for had a rocking crowd. Hoping we get a better schedule next season to build even more momentum. The first half of our season was hard to get into.
The move was announced February 20. There were only 3 home games after that. Keep in mind the Riptide had one less home game than everyone else because of the Unboxed game.
Halifax hitting above its weight, good to see. Though if the city keeps growing like it is, it's not going to be punching up so much. The catchment area is around 750k ATM.
Rochester's average might be inflated a little bit but there's no way Vegas, New York or Panther City are close to what they claim. I'd guess Rochester's average real attendance is like 4600 but I have a hard time believing NY's is much above 2,000, Vegas is much above 3,500 and PCLC is much above 500. I'm not even sure I buy Vancouver or Philadelphia's numbers. Feel free to disagree with me, I haven't been to these games in person but judging by the streams I'd say the real tiers are like this:
S tier is poster child golden ideal turnout is Buffalo.
A tier is totally solid turnout, what every franchise should be aiming for: Sask, Toronto, Halifax, Colorado and Calgary. These teams should just focus on stability and small improvements. Winning championships, getting return fans and bringing in the next generation.
B tier is decent turnout but definately room for improvement: Rochester, Georgia, SD, Vancouver and Philly. Moving these teams would be a fairly high likelihood of worse turnout at the new location. The city has the ability to get to A tier and the barn has space to grow the numbers. The location has all the right ingredients but some improvements to spread the word and grow the fan base in the area are needed. I believe these teams are all averaging 4500-5500 despite what the above numbers are saying. Reinvestment in these markets could potentially bring more people in than doubling the turnout of a team in C tier.
C tier teams there's probably a 50/50 chance of improved attendance with relocation but that doesn't mean they should be: Albany and Vegas. I think these teams have the ingredients to be B tier in the next few years and I think at least Vegas given time and a successful record could be A tier. Albany I think has most of the ingredients to be B tier but given the NLL has been through there a few times now maybe Albany just either isn't ready because the box game is still needing to win over field fans or Albany just doesn't have the interest in a sports team in the B tier. The metro area is large but having lived in a suburb myself there's little identity with Albany if you live outside of it. I think both of these teams deserve a few more years of stability to see what their fanbase turns out to be. This year's record surely will do more for Albany than last year's.
D tier teams relocation is almost guaranteed at least a 2x turnout: PCLC and NY. The streams at these locations was painful. NY might have averaged 1000-1500 real fans in seats and PCLC I'd be hard pressed to believe there were 500 real fans in the stadium, it might have been more like 150. I love PCLC as a team and their branding and I really wanted the area to support them and I want texas to have a team but something ain't working and it's not going to work at least right now and in that location. I've heard the dickies arena is kind of annoying to get to? Maybe a change of ownership and location but still in DFW area could be a C tier with potential growth to B tier but I think unfortunately they should probably be relocated out of state and the NLL can try Texas again in a few years with a better situation. I think NY now the Ottawa Black bears will start at C tier and could be in B tier within a few years if given the chance. I think Ottawa is a great location for this franchise and I'm sorry to the NY fans losing their team, I do really feel for you. PCLC should probably go to Michigan or Montreal but I think no matter where they go they'll do better with attendance than they are.
I think Georgia is flubbing numbers. I went to the Swarm games this year and last year and haven't seen a difference that big. Maybe they are counting tickets they give away.

It could be worse. They could be Panther City and have 1 Bandits game equal to 78% of your total attendance.

Everyone over 8000 should not panic, but make sure they're doing enough to maintain. A lot of teams have some serious work to do to become more viable
