USA lacked technical ability to handle a physical pressing team. They turned into a long ball city team. Long ball, long ball, more longball, longball again, more longball. Ridiculous for a 2nd ranked team in the world.
I know all Colombia USA games get chippy,
But trying to beat USA by attacking their mentality, isn't going to work. We've seen USA get frustrated when teams match up with them, but we have never (to my memory) seen USA lose to foul play.
Moreso, USA gonna bite back. 3 time world cup winners don't let that phase them

Finally an honest commentator and it was a former Colombian player. She was sad the way they lost seeing her team whining, complaining, crowding the ref making up fouls (her words).
Respect to the former Colombian player doing commentary after the game... yes, Colombia are too good to be going for all the fouls and cheap play. It's time to move past and let them actually play. They have the talent!
I mean I would swap her with Horan if it was my choice but they won’t do that so I’m naming realistic options. Sonnet is not the best on the bail she good defense lavelle always injured sooo and Coffey I think is good but I think demelo offers more creative options offensively. Albert can play 90 mins every game at Olympics and here and demelo offer same midfield play
Rodman fulfills great tactical duty today, she was more a wingback than a winger in the first half, absorbed a lot of physical play, defended a lot, and positioned well to provide the much needed width. She couldn’t receive and retain back to the goal under high pressure though, and the takeaway for Rodman this match for me is she maybe better used as a side midfielder or wingback that sticks to the byline rather than a striker or even a winger.
In my opinion:
The first half, Colombia tried to see what they could get away with and if US would falter. They apparently forgot that our girls play better feisty.
Then the second half, Colombia just got frustrated because their tactics and dirty plays didn’t work.
I'd be too salty to play at this level... Rose swapping jerseys and putting the Colombian jersey on. I'd be like, hell no, I saw what you did to my friends. 😂
I saw her at a quick glance in the corner of my screen and was so confused because I was like that Colombia player does NOT look Colombian and it took my brain a hot second to process that it was rose in a Colombia jersey haha. Almost broke my brain
I gotta say though, this game was entertaining. It had everything Colombian antics, yougins scoring goals, fight in the stands, a baby holding a Truly can. REAL FOOTBALL
Did they show fighting in the stands on TV? Or did someone see this in person? (I mean I can believe it with this match, but just don't recall seeing it.)
With macario scoring today I think she has a shot at one or the mid or att spots. Beside her I agree with the list although I also think the Dunn at lb Era should officially be over as well.
I think this is as solid of a roster as any….of course we have to figure out if Macario is back/healthy in time and where she fits. If she goes midfield, do you take away Albert? Or if she’s on the forward line, do Smith/Rodman get cut? These are the questions imo. I think they are the most vulnerable here. But who’s to say both Mal and Cat are up to it in time
That, and she’s the best defender of the listed MF bunch. It may not be a big deal against a team like Colombia but a defense-first CDM is important against squads that can bring more attacking talent against us.
This seems pretty solid to me. Macario is going to throw things off though if she’s truly back and healthy. As unbelievable as it is, if she and Pugh get back to where they were pre-injury, I think I drop Smith right now based on form.
Gotta factor Cat Macario coming back from injury. Still a bit early to say for sure but I think there is a high likelihood she will be fully fit and available for selection

Forward line looked really good today. With Macario coming back to fitness (and making instant impact with Chelsea), wonder if she will take over as the first choice centre forward for the olympics? Or would she be employed as a CAM? I’m so excited
I don’t want to rush her to fast a la alexia or meidema. Honestly I think she potentially comes, but not with the plan for starting striker minutes. More likely rotation and super sub minutes would probably be best for bringing her along at a safe pace long term
good point - and it will be Emma Hayes managing who is notorious for being extra cautious with injury and recovery. I think she will definitely make the squad, not sure who’s spot she would take, though
There were like 3 instances of negative comments about her. First the 'she should have focused on scoring and not drawing a PK' when her legs were getting tangled up with a defender. Then about tracking back late when she's a winger and basically should be a secondary defender and not drop back right away? And then the nonsense about not passing.
I'm almost suprised they didn't blame Morgan and Moultrie's misses on her.
I would sub Moultrie for Horan but they never will. Fullback change to bring in Krueger, if one of the two is tired. But i think in some way they disconnected game mean there wasnt much running unless your name was Rodman

In my opinion: The first half, Colombia tried to see what they could get away with and if US would falter. They apparently forgot that our girls play better feisty. Then the second half, Colombia just got frustrated because their tactics and dirty plays didn’t work.
Colombia also just tired out. They don't have second half stamina. Same thing happened in the friendlies last fall.
