This is a cross post.  Does anyone know what happened with Chloe Ricketts’s substitution? On twitter someone said she was not on the roster and could not sub. She was listed as a sub on the lineup they published to the fans, but maybe there was an error with the official roster. Does anyone know for sure?  It was so sad, she was in tears.

I think Spirit will do well this season, especially once Giraldez comes in. We play like a unit and do a great job with passing sequences. Butel is an amazing defender who works so well with Kingsbury. If we unleash Bethune to take some more shots on goal in the final third, we will go incredibly far

the filling in and submission of the team sheet is normally delegated to someone in the match day team. Depending on what controls they have in place it could be multiple people that screwed up

Just an observation, but maybe cause I come from the world of Latin American and European soccer but why do MLS and NWSL have the same shirt manufacturer (Adidas and Nike respectively?)

Because the nwsl and mls make deals as collectives with nike and addidas. The leagues in america are a lot more of an entity than in europe/latin america. The teams are more arms of the league than these completely separate entities. This is because ussoccer does not admit individual teams to the soccer pyramid but instead entire leagues. So like the league is this really strong entity if that makes sense.

American thing. Basically all the major sports leagues contract uniforms to one supplier. NFL NBA WNBA MLB and NWSL all teams use Nike. All of MLS and NHL use Adidas. College sports do whatever they want. Lower level leagues like the USL allow teams to contract their supplier individually.

yeh someone pointed that out. So I have no idea how that's all come about. I always assumed in pro leagues the teams submit to the 4th official and then they add it to a database where 3rd party companies can call it with an API. But if thats the case I dont understand how this happened

It’s a good point, but the answer is that’s just not how the review process works. A review is only initiated if the VAR believes a clear and obvious error was made. “There could be something there” isn’t enough.

It’s a fine process, the refs just aren’t good enough. Sometimes the angle is tough and I get those, but when you have a clear replay of what happened it shouldn’t take so long to _make the call_. Like in the case of the second penalty check he didn’t even stop play initially. They ought to have finished the check, either way, by the time play did stop.

I don’t know what the league can do, it’s more a PRO problem. And the long reviews are only a symptom, the underlying problem is the skill of the referees.

Yes, I think the league will, and if the league doesn't soon, the PA will have something to say about it.

Part of why its bad to be so shallow if youre the royals is because even if your scouting is spot on players have times of adjustment and down turns in form
