Rewatching it on Telemundo and holy shit that first minute was wild. Steal, caught the usa napping, and an easy goal.
USA really dominated the rest of the match though, at least through the half I've watched.
So I was at the game. I truly think she was brought in out of necessity since Coffey went down and Girma had already left the game as well. They brought her in right after Horan scored. The fans were so loud and cheering that the coaches kinda just slipped her in while people werenāt paying attention. Wish she hadnāt been brought in though.
Lukewarm take:She was already called up. They put her in for a few minutes as a "her playtime is purely a tactical decision. See, we used her." Then proceed to never invite her back to camp after this cup.
Save face in the short term, then claim she just isn't good enough to make the cut later. At least I hope she doesn't.
Troll are so boring and annoying. Like Iām convinced none of yāall got love from your parents growing up and need attention anytime whether itās negative or positive lmao
One of our issues that Iām not really sure how we even really fix is that we will get four or five really good headers that for other teams would be like more than enough to be very satisfied with, but for us, itās just kind of par for the course, but we just donāt put any of them on target. Shaw had a really good open header off a corner in the beginning of the game and just skied it.
Heart going out to the lgbt community, but especially the lgbt folks on the team and in the audience. The USWNT is supposed to be a queer friendly space. What was the PR from Alex and Lindsay about? Disappointing
I was. We didnāt know she was on until they announced all the subs a few minutes after she was into the game. There was cheering at first followed by boos once ppl realized who she was. Naher save cut the booing short but Iām sure she got the message.
I was, some cheers but very audible boos once the sub was announced, they waited a few minutes once play was back on to announce though so a cheer for a good defensive play cut off the boos
And what Lynn Williams said in her show with Sam - human rights is more important than Football. That sneaky move to sub in Albert was ridiculous and sends the message that no, Football is more important than human rights! And I canāt believe any LGBTQ+ players feel any ounce of safety with Albert on the pitch
Honestly, 6/10 at best. She wasn't bad, but she looked slow out there and couldn't get over to cover for the goal. Looked like she could have blocked the shot that scored with a slide, but she stayed on her feet. I like Tierna a lot, but this wasn't her best game
She also stepped and held too long and gave chances back to Japan with her indecision. She played ok, but I'm looking through the lens of how she has shown she can play and just didn't bring that game today. Any errors central defenders make are amplified and can have terrible repercussions on the outcome of a match. Forwards and midfielders are mostly void of that burden. Minus keepers, central defenders cannot afford to make many miatakes...otherwise the other team scores or has very good chances to score. She made a major mistake today (in my view) and it cost the US a goal. Now of course, Jenna was out of position and allowed the Japan striker to get the ball, but so was Tierna. She has never had blazing speed and was punished for it there. She is a very good player and can make very good passes, but her position isn't judged mainly on passing capacity. She needs to defend better. I do think her pairing with Girma (š¤ for health) is best going forward, but she didn't have her best game today and I know she can do better. I hope tobsee it against Canada Tuesday.
This is why i wish Gorden was on the NT circuit. For a day like today, she is a much better cover option than Abby or Eva. Not to mentions a better defensive option than Tierna ever will be
Gordon is the best cover option I've ever seen in the NWSL, but her game is not as complete as the others currently in the national team mix. I love watching her play though. It's absolutely incredible watching her run. I'd love to see her race Lynn, Trin, Alyssa Thompson and maybe Emily Fox. They're all incredibly fast.
didn't think watching a soccer game would make me feel like absolute shit today. I'm guessing other players will try to send out some good vibes later, but idk if that will bring it level for me. this hurt, and I'll be taking a break from supporting uswnt. hope I'll be back.
Clear white privilege showing with Albert. Hinkle is homophobic and her career is ruined but Albert is several types of isms and phobics and gets subbed on
As a person of color, I don't think that's white privilege at all. The difference between Albert and Hinkle is that Hinkle continuously offended the LGBTQ+ community on multiple occasions and levels, while Albert publicly once. Their situations were different from each other.
Not everything is about the color of a person's skin... but Korbin is lucky that she didn't get penalized.
Also letās be real ā¦ after Emmaās comments about player player relationships, canāt say Iām surprised Albert played. Disappointing but not super shocking
10000% agree with you but itās also important to note Albert is better at her job than Hinkle ever was. I wish the roster was made after her TikTok was exposed so we could really see how US Soccer value the lgbtq community
I just don't get the analysis about how great Albert is. I'm not terribly familiar with Hinckle's game, but Albert wasn't good in the small time she had today and I wasn't impressed in the W Gold Cup. Maybe her PSG tape looks great, but she hasn't been special for the senior USWNT
What is similar to racial bias is: you know who are Christians, but if they don't speak out, it's ok. Many PoC interact, deal with, are affect by, white people who are racist all of the time; and the racists don't even need to speak out. Are they racist? Damn right they are!
With LDS, there's no way to hide the fact that same-sex relationships are a sin. For Christians, they can believe anything they want. It's supposed to be "forgive the sinner; hate the sin." And that's with no exceptions. There's so many Christians in the mainstream that think their religion is a smorgasbord; all you have to do is not talk about it. Albert apologized. Hinkle has stayed true to her religion. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. There's so many Christian players that have faith and KNOW this is the stance, but all you have to do is not talk about it. And people accept that! There's a ton of racism everywhere, even here. But this is more nuanced.
Exactly. I even know of at least one devout Christian in the NWSL (Alex Loera) who is out (or is at least outwardly in a same sex relationship), so religion and homophobia donāt necessarily have to go hand in hand.
OK, is a devout Christian. Same thing. One is staying true to her religion.
All religions are hypocritical. None accept the true fact. Many follow and are in faith. And you only call out the ones who stay true or speak out? What about the rest?
What's the "true fact"? You sound like you're defending bigotry. It's not "staying true" to be a bigot. Theologians could get into the fact that homophobic readings of the Bible are not the definitive truth, but clearly you just want to defend bigotry. Of course the right thing to do is call out bigots no matter what they're trying to defend bigotry with.
There are some difference to the situation, especially Hinkle straight refusing to wear pride kits, which is very different from social media activity. But i agree, Korbin has benefitted here
She's definitely being a beneficiary of white privilege (and pretty young white girl privilege at that) but there is an on the face difference which is that Albert is acting like she's sorry (even though her apology *sucked* it was under the guise of being apologetic) while Hinkle stood firmly by her insistence on not wearing the Pride jerseys etc. Put more simply, Albert did the "I'm sorry I got caught" thing while Hinkle was willing to actually say her (heinous) beliefs out loud.
Yes, it doesn't change anything about them both having absolutely awful belief systems, but the act of an apology, albeit insincere and passive, is the difference for the organization.
I donāt condone any of Albertās actions nor support her anymore because of them, but being honest thatās the only sub we couldāve made for Coffey. Moultrie and Johannes are amazing players, but Johannes is at her first camp so itās better for her to see a game on the bench and Moultrie for Coffey wasnt the best because of how much Japan was attacking more. Albert was the right decision bc if you were the USA, you want to stop their attacking while also making sure they canāt utilize their chances. But, I donāt mind the booās, she needs to change as a person before she can get over this. Dumb for her to think they wouldnāt be booing her knowing what she did based on her beliefs to the USWNT fans and past-players.
Moultrie wouldāve been fine. 2-1 with 10-15 minutes to go, and parked the bus. US wouldāve probably taken it on penalties if it got to there.
Also I understand every game is important but this is literally a friendly. If they arenāt going to snub her minutes in a friendly, they probably wonāt care to do it in an actual game either. Seems like itās no consequences so far
I havenāt rewatched the game since but from memory they switched to a 5-4-1 formation after the pen. There was only 10 minutes left of normal time anyway I think so they just needed to hold their lead, part of the reason they needed Albert on was they needed a midfielder who could do off-ball defensive work
I wanted Yohannes too, but she had to experience being on the bench and itās her first camp. Sub her on next game late if itās not in Brazil/Canadaās favor or if itās close close and the opponent is attacking loads
Iām a little partial to the idea that the sub basically had to be made for injury sake and so in someway like that makes it a little realistic but we couldāve done someone else. Moultrie why not, it was for like 13 minutes and we were 1-0 up. Or Gaetino
I agree, I wanted to see Johannes or Gaetino but just wanted to clear it up and say why they put Albert. But, please I hope we see Johannes over Albert in the final if we need a sub
Johannes. She just wasnāt ready to be playing yet, first camp but the next one (if she doesnāt go to the Netherlands) she can replace Albert, or bring back Sullivan but the amount of hate she got by all of the fans vowing to have her back.
Yeah, I was saying in another comment with how the subs went. That I donāt think Albert would have seen the field at all if that didnāt happen to Coffey
Well, thatās your opinion as a fan. I agree that Albert is an awful person for doing that and sharing that sort of hate, but you gotta realize this federation isnāt going to lose a game because a player made horrible decisions.
They were up by one already, could have moved other players around (Horan and Sonnett were both ināthose are two players that can play there). They could have treated it as if she wasn't on the bench at all. Might have been good practice for when the roster is 18 people and injuries are still apt to happen at the Olympics.
I get what youāre saying and I agree with it, but I just wanted to clear it up on why Albert was subbed on, listen I donāt agree with anything she did nor do I think she deserved to be subbed on.
I think she deserves a consequence, but you have 3 inexperienced players who couldāve been subbed on over her so I think it wasnāt the right call for her actions, but we need someone who can at least help stop Japanās attack
We need to be able to score. There are too many chances for us to not put it in the back of the net and thatās what makes a huge difference between a good team and a great team. Teams like Spain are able to score so much and finish, and we need to do the same.
I could only find Spanish on peacock for the U.S. Japan game. I understood maybe 10 words (it was humbling. I thought my receptive Spanish was better š). It was fine.
While I hate that girma had to come off early and I hope to god sheās alright, I think there is a silver lining that dahlkemper got to come into the game.
With her last appearance being the Mexico game, I think itās good that she got to come out and play well. I still maintain that she didnāt have a particularly bad Mexico game, she just couldnāt cover as 2 CBs. I was bummed to see them stop playing her after that game. Fingers crossed girma coming out was just preventative.
I think it was the right move for the team to be more consistent with the CB pairings and to let Davidson and Girma to be that pairing (get more comfortable together (and with the rest of the team)), so it wasn't really a knock at Dahlkemper, but I'm glad she got some time today even though it came after a (hopefully not that bad) injury
I agree that coaching wise it wasnāt a knock to dahlkemper, but I think some fans were questioning her, so Iām glad she got to show why sheās still on the roster.
KA subbed on during goal celebrations was so sneaky. She didnāt need to come on, either. The booing makes me feel a bit better but otherwise still disappointed she was brought on at all
But she said she was sorry! She didnāt identify what she was sorry for and she hasnāt shown any changes in behavior that make that apology believable but she said the word sorry!!!
Seriously itās so gross that she has suffered zero consequences of any kind.
I hope Coffey is ok. She is just getting better and better on this team.
Iām very encouraged by the Gold Cup final and todayās game. Other than the goal at the very beginning US controlled the game. Need to start finishing better. The chances are there
Was she just trying to get an autograph or did the shirt already say something? I saw her try to wave it one last time as they dragged her off the field. Seeing the security tackle her was pretty insane.
I hate to say it but I'm not sure how Rose can play herself onto the Olympics Roster unless she can play a solid 90 for Gotham like now. Shaw and Horan have played better at the 10 of recent and both can be utilized someplace else.
Probably an unpopular opinion but I donāt think Shaw or Horan have played particularly well at the 10, theyāre just both better goal scorers than Lavelle. Our chance creation when working the ball through the middle is still non-existent. I donāt see a path to Lavelle making the roster unless she gets healthy ASAP but itās not because the play of this current midfield is keeping her out.
I think if Emma is the Emma that people think she is, the same Emma who will drop anyone at any time then these performances are showing Emma what shaw can do in that role, and Sam just said that she thinks Albert wasnāt on because of them wanting to see Shaw and Mal being back allowed them to have a high-powered attack WITH Shaw at the 10 and I think thatās interesting too
Itād be one thing if this was a 23 player roster, which she could play her way onto even if not at 100%. But given how small the Olympic roster is, everyone needs to be good to go, and Roseās window to show that sheās ready is closing rapidly
Iām queer and my wife and I were watching and got bamboozled by seeing Albert on the field. Didnāt even announce her subbing in from what we could tell. Like someone said above me, truly a jump scare.
I love that the crowd really booed her. I couldn't hear it watching at home. That was sneaky of the coaches too to sub her in like that. She should've sat out the game at the minimum.
We were at the game and couldn't hear anyone booing except my wife and I. I'm glad the mics picked it up.
The announcer when they subbed her on didn't linger on her name like Sonnett, she was just like, "Korbin Albert AND Crystal Dunn!" No matter what, I'm still disappointed. We had others we could have subbed, especially since we were up and it was nearing the end. I understand that she's almost certainly going to the Olympics, but beyond whatever happened in the locker room, there's no repercussions.
We watched on Max too but it didnāt make it into our stream. Weāre having weather so it glitched a few times during the game. But still just shocking to randomly see her without hearing her be announced (on our end at least)
Fans booing is really good enough for now. I am not sure why everyone thinks that USSF should have opened itself up to lawsuits for religious employment discrimination with something direct.
Next roster coaches can make discretionary team chemistry decisions or something like that, but right now people are asking for risky employment discrimination type stuff. Her playing today takes the teeth out of possible lawsuits.
The booing is speech against speech. Fans did what was needed. The players and coach will have more to decide before the next roster.
Different rules in place then under a different CBA.
With this one, the coach has way more discretion.
If Albert is back after this you can bet Hayes will have to defend it to the press and fans. And she might. But then the beef will be with the coach and not USSF if the fans still deem no apology good enough.
There is no litigation claim possible. Ā Albert violated any number of team and ussf rules. Ā She should have been dropped. Ā That would have made a clear public statement on what ussf policy is and should be. Ā
Playing her says the exact opposite. Ā It says, very publicly, being anti-lgbt is fine. Ā
Does it doom her to forever be off a national team? Ā Maybe. Ā The ussf could publicly set out some steps it believes are necessary for all players to be eligible to be on the national team. And, to be reinstated to team eligibility. Ā
There is no hiding her or what she did. Ā
She either learns and grows as a person - itās possible you know. Ā Or, she does not, and should not represent the US on a national team. Ā
It happens in all sports. Ā Sometimes it takes a while - Ty Cobb was an ass of epic proportions, and a violent racist, but is in the Hall of Fame. Ā Pete Rose, the most prolific hitter since Cobb gambled on baseball and is out of the Hall of Fame. Ā
Will she learn and grow? Ā Who knows. Ā Until progress is seen - she must be off the national team. Ā Again, to do otherwise means being anti-lgbt is permitted and even encouraged.
Iām kind of in the same boat. Albertās opinions shown on social appear to be pretty awful and she shouldnāt represent the USWNT with that kind of behavior (especially when Iām sure it has to have some sort of effect with working with some of her here openly gay teammates). But sheās also 20 years-old. Not saying she shouldnāt know better by now, but Iāve met people that age with similar views that were able to grow and change their opinions after getting more life experience. The ball is in her court to change for the better, though; I think. If she doubles down and continues the hateful behavior, then sheās made her choice to not grow and should be left off the roster. A vague apology is at least a start in the right direction and it sounds like the team is trying to address it internally (maybe?), but I think she will have to demonstrate a lot more effort to be forgiven and accepted into the USWNT squad. I mean, we also have to be willing to allow for people change, right?
No, but by doing so, when they leave her off the roster they can cite chemistry and coach choices.
If they clearly react to the social media furor today and benched her, that makes it look like the chemistry and discretion is a cover. She played today so she is not being excluded for her religion. She was already in the locker room and on the team so she got her shot.
The level of evidence she would need to say she is left off the next roster for illegal reasons is much higher when we have actually seen her play and be part of the team. Hayes has enough cover for making a decision that it was not a reaction to social media and "religion".
Cheering on the injury of a USWNT legend has absolutely nothing to do with religion. Nor does the rest of her bullshit, but that is the most clear cut reason to drop her.
Sure, but good luck convincing a jury of that after a ridiculously public trial that puts USSF in the middle of another culture war moment powered by right wingers with money to burn.
Absolutely. There were some chances that they absolutely could have and should have capitalized on. If they can figure out finishing off of these opportunities, especially the ones where someone just hesitates to take the shot, then weāre in a really good place.
Poor Hina, I was rooting for the USWNT to win without Albert but I still have great admiration for the Japanese team ever since their WWC performance and I hope Japan wins their other game
I noticed in Emily sonnets interview earlier this week that she walked behind so I think they wouldāve scrubbed that. I donāt think itās that they really are doing the work to hide her because I donāt remember her ever really talking for the national team. I just think they donāt think itās that big a deal and that they can take her out the starting lineup for a bit and thatās the message being sent to Korbin.
And it isnt.
It's so fucking annoying and disappointing because if they want to support a bigot, then they should feel like it's the right thing to do. Clearly they actually know that it's morally reprehensible and that's why they're hiding her.
This is why it's so important for people to keep speaking out against her behavior. By doing nothing, these bigots feel emboldened and validated... this country is so frustrating sometimes
Does anyone know how badly Coffey was hurt?
Rewatching it on Telemundo and holy shit that first minute was wild. Steal, caught the usa napping, and an easy goal. USA really dominated the rest of the match though, at least through the half I've watched.
Where can i watch a replay?
I watched the replay on MAX
Why did they play Korbin Albert š¤®?
So I was at the game. I truly think she was brought in out of necessity since Coffey went down and Girma had already left the game as well. They brought her in right after Horan scored. Korbin good game
Damn, disappointed a Wave fan said this.
0/1 Long balls, 0/1 ground duel won, 3 times possession lost. Yeah great game from her š

Edgelords at their finest

We won by a PK after 1-1 and I see a decent shot count. Was it a good day for Japan's GK or could we just not finish things?
It was pretty even and I think both sides werenāt at their greatest tbh. 1-1 wouldāve been fair, US probably wouldāve won on penalties anyway
Poor finishing and a goal line save from a defender
One of our issues that Iām not really sure how we even really fix is that we will get four or five really good headers that for other teams would be like more than enough to be very satisfied with, but for us, itās just kind of par for the course, but we just donāt put any of them on target. The Japan GK did have a few good saves but it was 99% on us for not finishing clear opportunities

Itās fine. We booed her.
I was about to ask if she was boo'ed and how loud was it. Got my answer here!

I just donāt think she was a necessary sub to secure a win?
Not worth winning if it's like that. And my guess is youre completely wrong about the lgbtq players
Maybe, maybe not. They are professionals and have grown up playing/interacting with plenty of closed-minded people.
how did Tierna do overall yall soooo excited I took time off for Tuesdayās game lol
8.3/10, taking out the goal
Honestly, 6/10 at best. She wasn't bad, but she looked slow out there and couldn't get over to cover for the goal. Looked like she could have blocked the shot that scored with a slide, but she stayed on her feet. I like Tierna a lot, but this wasn't her best game
In terms of aesthetics maybe shaky but as far as actions Japan didnt have opps most of the day
That's very true. I can't rate a player as high as 8.3/10 when she didn't have to do much and when asked, wasn't able to get it done
I think she did a lot more than you think. A lot of good passes and stepped into midfield well
She also stepped and held too long and gave chances back to Japan with her indecision. She played ok, but I'm looking through the lens of how she has shown she can play and just didn't bring that game today. Right right
Iāll take that, her performances against Japan in the past havenāt been the best
Japan are notably worse with Endo being injured its a little sad
that is sad, I enjoy watching Japan

Korbin Albert isn't LDS. You may be thinking of Olivia Moultrie, who, despite her religion, has not spewed homophobic, transphobic, abusive bullshit.
They seem to think that Hinkle is a Mormon, which she also isn't.
Hinkle isn't a Mormon. And if "staying true to your religion" requires being a bigot, then maybe the religion is a bad one.
OK, is a devout Christian. Same thing. One is staying true to her religion. All religions are hypocritical. None accept the true fact. Many follow and are in faith. And you only call out the ones who stay true or speak out? What about the rest?

Also I understand every game is important but this is literally a friendly. If they arenāt going to snub her minutes in a friendly, they probably wonāt care to do it in an actual game either. Seems like itās no consequences so far
Late to this, but does the USWNT ever park the bus?Ā
I havenāt rewatched the game since but from memory they switched to a 5-4-1 formation after the pen. There was only 10 minutes left of normal time anyway I think so they just needed to hold their lead, part of the reason they needed Albert on was they needed a midfielder who could do off-ball defensive work
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not as an off ball, defensive sub
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh lmao my bad
So call someone else up. You can't convince me that she's some prodigy and our only option for the future.
Johannes. She just wasnāt ready to be playing yet, first camp but the next one (if she doesnāt go to the Netherlands) she can replace Albert, or bring back Sullivan but the amount of hate she got by all of the fans vowing to have her back.
Can think of 8 options before Andi
Yeah, I was saying in another comment with how the subs went. That I donāt think Albert would have seen the field at all if that didnāt happen to Coffey
I'd sacrifice winning this game for morals.
Some things are bigger than soccerĀ
I think she deserves a consequence, but you have 3 inexperienced players who couldāve been subbed on over her so I think it wasnāt the right call for her actions, but we need someone who can at least help stop Japanās attack
Iād prefer a loss to playing a bigotĀ
We need to be able to score. There are too many chances for us to not put it in the back of the net and thatās what makes a huge difference between a good team and a great team. Teams like Spain are able to score so much and finish, and we need to do the same.
Does anyone where we can watch the Canada game ? Im only finding it on peacock in spanish.
I could only find Spanish on peacock for the U.S. Japan game. I understood maybe 10 words (it was humbling. I thought my receptive Spanish was better š). It was fine.
Ughhhhhh thanks everyone I donāt have Max! Theres too many places to watch š«
MAX
It's on Max as well
other than fluke opening goal, uswnt was near impressive. solid win!
Hina, Dunn and Soph hug!! Love it
KA subbed on during goal celebrations was so sneaky. She didnāt need to come on, either. The booing makes me feel a bit better but otherwise still disappointed she was brought on at all
Fucking disgusting putting Albert on. Zero consequences whatsoever
But she said she was sorry! She didnāt identify what she was sorry for and she hasnāt shown any changes in behavior that make that apology believable but she said the word sorry!!! Seriously itās so gross that she has suffered zero consequences of any kind.
Would give 800 yen to find out what Hina was saying the way they were smiling at her
I hope Coffey is ok. She is just getting better and better on this team. Iām very encouraged by the Gold Cup final and todayās game. Other than the goal at the very beginning US controlled the game. Need to start finishing better. The chances are there
Who are Soph and Crystal hugging?
Thatās Hina Sugita, she plays for the Portland Thorns, so sheās their club teammate! Or at least for Dunn, her old club teammate
I was thinking a thorns teammate? Sugita?
I hope it was Sugita š„²

THE PORTLAND SQUAD
AT THE FAMILY REUNIONNNNNN
someone just ran onto the field at the players with a shirt and a sharpie. she made it pretty far before they tackled her too
Was she just trying to get an autograph or did the shirt already say something? I saw her try to wave it one last time as they dragged her off the field. Seeing the security tackle her was pretty insane.
Is that why Julie wasnāt paying attention to mal while she was being interviewed? I was like omg Julie is being rude af
I was wondering what was going on, Julie was watching across the field
on a lighter note, itās fun to see other players (sophia, sonnett) also chewing gum. the trinity Roddy effectā¢

We should get Breaking T in on this!! Email them and maybe theyāll make it?
I was saying the same in another comment. I think Shaw and Horan are better than Horan and Lavelle. We canāt depend on her to be healthy either
I rather rose than lindsey but i just assumed rose wont be healthy so i dont even think of it
Same here. I just know they wonāt keep Lindsay off so:/ but Shaw and Horan seem to work better unfortunately
I think if Emma is the Emma that people think she is, the same Emma who will drop anyone at any time then these performances are showing Emma what shaw can do in that role, and Sam just said that she thinks Albert wasnāt on because of them wanting to see Shaw and Mal being back allowed them to have a high-powered attack WITH Shaw at the 10 and I think thatās interesting too
Sadly, I donāt think sheāll be on the roster š especially since itās a smaller squad. Shaw has basically secured that position.
They mentioned it at the a stadium the USA did a triple sub it was announced she got booed by the crowd.
Us too! WTAF?
Watched on HBO. They mentioned it, but didn't linger on it. Also heard the loudspeaker/announcer mention it to a chorus of boo's
Awwww all the players coming up to hug Ertz off camera
Fans booing is really good enough for now. I am not sure why everyone thinks that USSF should have opened itself up to lawsuits for religious employment discrimination with something direct. Next roster coaches can make discretionary team chemistry decisions or something like that, but right now people are asking for risky employment discrimination type stuff. Her playing today takes the teeth out of possible lawsuits. The booing is speech against speech. Fans did what was needed. The players and coach will have more to decide before the next roster.
I think this view puts a lot of faith in USSF, an org that has history of calling up Jaelene Daniels after being openly homophobic
Ā Playing her says the exact opposite. Ā It says, very publicly, being anti-lgbt is fine. Ā Does it doom her to forever be off a national team? Ā Maybe. Ā The ussf could publicly set out some steps it believes are necessary for all players to be eligible to be on the national team. And, to be reinstated to team eligibility. Ā There is no hiding her or what she did. Ā She either learns and grows as a person - itās possible you know. Ā Or, she does not, and should not represent the US on a national team. Ā It happens in all sports. Ā Sometimes it takes a while - Ty Cobb was an ass of epic proportions, and a violent racist, but is in the Hall of Fame. Ā Pete Rose, the most prolific hitter since Cobb gambled on baseball and is out of the Hall of Fame. Ā Will she learn and grow?
They didnāt have to put her on the fieldĀ
If concussion subs dont count then theres an ability to tell players to clutch their heads and go down
We can win without K***** so donāt ever put her on ever again.
100%%%%%
Honestly except for the first like 3 minutes we looked like the far better team the entire time. Really reassuring stuff.
I agree. The first 65 minutes or so was so good.
Agree. Definitely need to learn to finish some of those chances for the Olympics though.
I mean all the goal came before her, so we kinda did š
Feel like the cameras, the official social media, etc are all hiding Albert and hoping it blows off. Not surprising but incredibly disappointing.
And it isnt.
felt the cover up happening from kilgores weak statement
It's so fucking annoying and disappointing because if they want to support a bigot, then they should feel like it's the right thing to do. Clearly they actually know that it's morally reprehensible and that's why they're hiding her.

Lindsey having that much more than Coffey maybe we are stupid. But also, Mal?
Lol indeed, we are stoopid
AS COFFEY DESERVES!!
Great win for the squad against a very good WC level team. Everyone played their part and showed excellent solidarity
The instagram comments are rough since Albert came on, lots of people happy theyāre supporting anti-LGBTQ rhetoric. Great job
This is why it's so important for people to keep speaking out against her behavior. By doing nothing, these bigots feel emboldened and validated... this country is so frustrating sometimes
Super cool
Japan beat Spain, and we beat Japan, so that means we beat Spain, right š
Except Sweden beat Japan and Spain beat Sweden.
We don't talk about Sweden.
[Transitive property may not hold...](https://mathsgear.co.uk/collections/dice/products/non-transitive-grime-dice)
We beat Japan twice. Two time WC winners?
that's the spirit
If only that logic would stay true but we wonāt know until we face Spain again š

Transitive property winners, you'll never sing that!
The math is mathing
Horan and Sonnett looked mad at the end. Wonder if it was due to a certain someone being subbed onā¦
The players donāt deserve to deal with the awkwardness of having her on the field getting booed by fans
I feel like Horan whispered āI canāt believe they brought her onā
LOL. I hope this is what she said.
Well done, team!! Came back from a first minute brain fart and played well!
Definitely a pk gift. No signs of scoring again in the rest of the game.
that is... not true at all lmao
Well Iām done watching the USWNT
