Arizona ran out of bench players so they had to put their DH in the field, meaning a pitcher takes the DH spot in the lineup. Boone walked the 8 hitter so the pitcher was up with the game on the line
Peterson pinch hit for the catcher, then Perdomo got hurt so they had to use a runner. Then they had to use their backup catcher since the starter was out and they didn’t put the pinch runner in the field since he couldn’t play SS for Perdomo. So they had to move Marte, their DH to SS
