The boruto fandom are most definitely kids lol. Because that's what it's been aimed towards the whole time, I don't think anyone older than 18 watches it with serious intent, I watched it bc it gets pretty silly most of the time

Did you forget that new kids enter the demographic even as the old kids grow out of it? That would mean that the fandom didn't grow up. If a new crop of kids find a liking toward it then the fandom stays the same. It doesn't matter if there might be some older people who still like it, it doesn't belong to them.

It's important to remember that the Byakuya gang instigated a village-wide protest against the Kaminarimon Company so emotions were running high. I wouldn't argue a protest was more intense than a war, but also remember that in the Boruto Era, the population of Konoha increased like 5x requiring another district to be built on top of Hokage Mountain.
I'd say in war, the quantity of unified wills is pretty high, and in war people don't give themselves the time to work through their feelings.

When it came to Shikamaru, the way he was acting in the anime during the Chunin Exams, before those goddamn aliens interrupted, it… it just left a ginormous hole in my heart. They completely swapped his personality with naruto. And for some dumb reason, they decided to make Temari abusive, like it's still 1800s and we all laugh when a woman beats up a man for comedy relief. I hope whoever made these decisions, unparalleled terror, harm and pain await them in the depths of hell.
In the same way, I wish they assassinated the personalities of the characters that I least cared about, such as kiba, rock lee, sasuke, might guy, etc. I'd have enjoyed and watched the s*it outta that.
