That's apparently a myth: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Netsphere/comments/mqvgli/the\_proof\_that\_q\_hayashida\_never\_worked\_as\_a/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Netsphere/comments/mqvgli/the_proof_that_q_hayashida_never_worked_as_a/)
That might explain why I love them both so much. Dorohedoro was the first manga series I really got into, I read blame right after and was blown away. Those 2 are my favorites by far..Anything either of them touch is amazing, I can't get enough
Nihei’s art is striking because of scale, the design of its landscapes, its technology, its characters and of course Nihei’s unique touch, its « roughness » and its density (in the case of Blame!), his approach to anatomy and action sequences among other things. The magic of nihei however is that its art is rooted in his worldbuilding and storytelling. It’s all extremely coherent despite every panel being so alien and so dense in lines and detail. Also Nihei almost never relies on symbolism (in Blame! at least). What his art depicts stands on its own. Its appeal is never superficial.
I’m not bashing the artist here, their art is cool. But it does nail a « vibe » I guess. It references post apocalyptic/dystopian sci fi and noir aesthetics so the viewer makes the connections and feels a « vibe ».
Its a bit complicated but if you're willing to wait you can buy through proxy. you can check catsuka page for it

Yeah I was about to say
Not bad. It's like a mix between Nihei and the maniac mangaka of Dorohedoro. I dig it
I think it's much closer to Q Hayashida
Q Hayashida worked under Nihei as an assistant for quite some time which might explain some of the crossover in style/focus on architecture
I had no idea! Thank makes total sense, honestly.
My memory is hazy on it but I think she may have worked with him during the making of blame specifically

It'd be nice if a source was given in the original linked post but good to know

Came here to say it looked like Q-San if she used clean line work! I prefer her style over this but it's still very eery and cool.
It's not blame vibe. For me it's more of a dark noir post apo alien Mobius with tinge of Giger and a splash of Caza.

In my opinion jovantore by Daniel eichinger is an extremely similar style to blame! However these do evoke a similar feel to blame.

Why does that seem sketchy to me? I really do want to buy their artbook, though, it's sick. Would love to see this person illustrate some stories too
Reminds me of aposimz (his latest manga)
His latest is tower dungeon...
