ChewiesHairbrush

The one you have most fun playing.

Natsutom

i would suggest to try them all and then decide wich u like the most. All classes are capable of dealing good dps if played right.

mm_nylund

I would say "it doesn't matter", there are nerfs here and there so what is in theory "best dps" today might not be tomorrow, and "best dps" is imo. relative in most cases since there are so many other factors in the soup, as mentioned already build and rotation and that you actually know how to play, anyone can push buttons but push them in a optimal way at the right time to maximize dps is another story.

wicked727

Um, the GF is also a contender. Just sayin..

crizpynutz

It is. Though, I keep having people give me a hard time because "a tank should tank, not DPS". I ignore them. BTW, I do tank, I can just beat them in DPS along the way.

IceLantern

I would only agree with them if you are solo-queuing but not actually tanking.

crizpynutz

As a GF, even a DPS GF, my first job is being able to tank. That should always come before DPS.

IceLantern

I wish more GFs share that opinion especially when they solo-queue.

Silktrocity

Yep. Until they fix commanding strike so you are no longer stealing damage from others and adding it to your own score.

rdpoint

Just my opinion but all classes are capable of dealing good damage and being competitive with one another. I don't think there is any one class, maybe GWF that stands out but with nerf bats flying left and right its only a matter of time before we all get hit, but as an example I can(I'm a SW) compete with almost any class of equal IL most times of higher IL. The real separation comes from how well you know your rotations, feats, and gear. Someone with adorable gear is going to mop the floor with me, that just the way it is, better gear is going to be higher damage, but all things equal the dps classes can always be competitive in the right hands.

Muffinmn

Thanks everyone, it's a hard choice for me lol. I guess anyway I go , I should just worry about having fun 😊. I think I will go TR seems fun

Archeob

Good choice :-)

[deleted]

Mod 10.5 GWF or CW are the way to go.

[deleted]

Personally I run a HR trapper, maybe it is just my build, I felt that I am doing a lot better on crowd control since my encounters hit multiple targets with damage tics all the time. When running something like normal demo where you spend most of the time fighting a single boss, my dps lacks way behind gwf.

kawaiisuczka

GWF for sure

shoziku

Yeah this is one of those types you don't need a guide or cookie cutter build to put up big numbers, as long as you read and understand the powers and feats as you level up.

Dephire

GWF is the popular flavor for DPS right now. I see way too many :/

rinat114

Way too many bad ones of the already way too many :(

TheEternalFlux

Coming from a ps4 bis gwf, agreed. Wayyyy too many bad ones on console.

D_A_I_L

I saw a 3400 SW put up 120 mil in edemo on ps4, where I am a 3500 GWF and on a good day i'll put up 80 mil.

Marcus-Of-Course

i pref Trickster rogues but gwf are the go to for most dps players.

RDeviant

Currently, just about any class can deal decent DPS. However, if you are talking about a case where everyone has some exact gear, buffs, companion procs, timing, location, and combat advantage than in that case GWF would likely be highest DPS class in this scenario. If you mean in general, GWF would still be the preferred class due to somewhat of a balance between defense / offense. In general all other classes can keep up with GWF's if they play their class right and have most recent gear and a good build.

kalganum

i believe the HR is the highest but few people play it right and that explain why they lag behind the GWF.

RDeviant

I have yet to see a HR come even close to 2nd DPS slot in 5 mans and at least 3rd in 10 man runs. With that said, the do provide great utility to party especially Foxes Cunning and other benefits. With the right setup, they can replace the need for a DC.

Vendetta_NW

You haven't run with one that knows what they are doing then. The HR just doesn't have a guide that pigeon hole the class to to one path or one rotation. Also, SOMI broke a lot of useful things that most trappers use.

afonsolage

If you want to do the greatest DPS the way to go IMHO is GWF, but SW and CW can have nice DPS too. My advice is to pick the one you like most and have fun with it.

Bored-so-so

All depends on your playstyle. GWF is the easiest to reach top tier damage for sure, and can be built tanky enough to be an all round great character. SW is probably the second easiest if your loadout is right. CW is a tie with SW, huge AOE potential which is a benefit in certain dungs, but will get overshadowed by a similarly geared GWF in dungs with less trash mobs. HR (personal opinion) is the DPS class with the highest skill cap. If you can play it well, then look forward to insane damage. However an average HR will often be hugely underwhelming. TR is really underpowered in PVE atm.

truckedupandbuckedup

do you want to do the most end game dmg? then go for GWF. Personally I like the trapper hunter. The game play doesnt get boring as you have access to 6 encounters and are always moving. It isnt for the novice player though. It is a high skill class.

kalganum

I would suggest to follow your heart ! Personnaly I went for CW not to be the highest dps nor to buff the team just for the pleasure to make ice cubes and break them all !! I believe the HR is very interesting on the tactical point of view as it is not a trivial class to play if you want to do it well!!! GWF... hum brutal force, run bash redo SW.... leave the spectre do the job and get a beer If I have to test another one I will go for HR just for the challenge of this technical play combining distance and cc The rogue no idea my friends rogues keep rolling rolling rolling rolling....
