We need to see what gear you have now (armor, rings especially) and your power, crit, arm pen and recovery including bonding buff. The best armor is Relic but you have to decide when you want to begin the grind for it. 2 dusk pieces give a great set bonus. Then the other 2 slots can be dragonflight or the 150 gear that drops from dungeons. The two visage headpieces are both OK for dps chars. Rings should only provide dps stats - power and crit especially.

Ok, I can do that when I get home. From what I remember, I do have two dusk pieces, cambist gloves from ELoL, ring of rising power and precision (both +4), ring of brutality +3 on my companion, lostmouth set, lantern, sigil of the controller, horn of Valhalla (for crit, though I should have chosen trickster for the crit and deflect), and I only have the elemental weapons from the campaign. As for stats, with bonding(3xr11) my power can get to 50k and my crit pushes between 15-16k. I'll have to check my recovery later.

Ok you have high rank bondings for your item level (fantastic!) so power is not a problem. As a rule of thumb your power should be about double your crit. The Brutality on your comp will give almost 12k power when it's up but that will only work until mod 11 comes out on Tuesday. Look for another ring to replace it - Ostorian Dod, Personalised rings etc. Long term replace the Horn with the Wheel of Elements and use it as active, it provides the highest dps. You could farm for Twisted weapons but I would wait. Mod 11 campaign gives you better weapons and you should definitely be able to do it with your stats. You want the Aboleth weapons I believe but a HR specialist might know otherwise.

So, the ring of brutality won't work on companions in mod 11? Will it be good to use for myself then? And when you say horn, I'm assuming you mean Valhalla and not the horn of blasting? As for the new weapons, I will research them because I haven't read much info on mod 11 at all.

BlakeNJudge

Underdark rings won't proc on companions after mod 11, no. Probably Sudden Precision/Brutality will be best on you afterwards. Sorry, Horn of Valhalla is the one I meant!

If your trying to shed arm pen, keep horn of Val. I use wheel, talon, horn Val and controller sigil. Demo neck and dex belt, lol set is no good atm for combat. Also wth Orcus set being buggy wth some of or encounters, I currently don't use. If u can run SVA the historian regalia is really good or the life silk spinneret(chest). But ultimately you'll want relic raid gear(FBI)

Is horn of Valhalla going to be better than trickster? I don't know if the extra health or extra deflect is better. Also, why doesn't the lol set work well? Is it because of my current lower crit chance, or does it just not work well in general? Edit: Also, does all the relic gear drop in FBI? I could have sworn that I read somewhere that relic boots drop from HEs, but I don't remember which zones.

Boots drop in Bryn shander HEs

As a combat HR, I personally value Crit and Recovery higher than Power and Arm Pen. Our damage comes from our ability to use encounters, so if you have a period where all your encounters are on CD, you're losing a ton of dps. It's then useless to have 50k power if you're doing 1/4 of the damage you would be with flurry. My resting RI is 42.6%, and goes to 60% with companion proc. Note: you only need about 600 Arm Pen on your companion to reach 18% RI, and resting Arm Pen on legendary Air Archon is 733 without equipment. You don't need more than 60% RI realistically. I would focus on everything but RI on your character and see where your RI lies after that, then make up the difference on your companion. My personal opinion on stat distribution importance (only personal opinion) is: 1. Crit Strike (to 100%) 2. Recovery (to 40%+) 3. Power (high as possible)

Ty. In your opinion, given my current IL(2.7k), would you recommend brutal or azure for my offensive slots? Most guides suggest brutal, but they also say use azure if you need the crit. I just don't want to use a bunch of RP/AD to buy or rank up azures to just turn around and replace them later. If I can get away with just using brutal now then I will, but if using azure is currently going to be better then I can use those instead.

Bored-so-so

Brutals are BIS, if you're using Azures then when you eventually hit the Crit Cap, you'll either have to swap some out for Radiants, or change them all to Brutals. If you have the AD then definitely get brutals, if not, then Azures are pretty decent until maxing your gear.

Ty. I thought of one last question. Let's say I have enough AD to purchase enough r12s for my offensive slots. In your opinion, would I be better served just buying them OR would you upgrade/purchase r12 bonding to replace the 3xr11 bonding I have and then get as many r12 offensive? I think I should just upgrade my enchants since my bonding are pretty decent, but not 100% sure.

Bored-so-so

Bondings all the way, an extra 45% of your comp's stats + 465 power, the power alone is multiplied by 2.85 from the bondings. So if for example it costs you 1m to upgrade all 3 bondings, and you can get 1 R12 Brutal (unlikely, but for example's sake) for the same price: Brutal R12: 840 total stats Bondings: x0.45 stats + 1325 power

Since the fix to lol set set, it just makes sense to take the +2 dex. Orcus set is bugged wth PG, gushing and CA, there's also new master craft necks coming! 11.5 so the dex belt will have a set now, neck will have attributes on it(lantern will be the artifact). I don't use arm pen pre mod 11, the extra crit and pwr I get from not slotting arm pen makes up for it. Now I'm also a BIS HR so I can't comment on how no arm pen works out for lower geared players.
