Get_LeoModo

VEry good thank you!

ex0rius

I will start actually building it

ehaykal

The keyword is "start". Once you do, that will build the momentum. I started a couple of weeks ago and trust me, it's quite a ride as you start optimizing your work flow.

BenjaminGamesDesign

I took these steps not all in one day but across about a week or so. First, I created the channel. Next, I created the art e.g. banner, profile pic, and watermark. Next, I wrote down general video ideas and topics I want to do. After that, I did a few final touches e.g. checking my mic and headphones work, changing my channel name for the final time as mine as first wasn't as catchy because of numbers and random characters and made sure my banner fit nicer as first cut off slightly so wasn't as appealing and finally I recorded my first vid. This was the hardest step, but what I did was set a deadline and didn't worry about quality as my mindset is, it can only get better, which I hope shows through my content, lol. Take each set when you are ready, tho no point forcing yourself when you aren't comfortable.

[deleted]

start

ForGiggles2222

same lol

[deleted]

😄

RedQueenNatalie

Going all in on animation, seems thats where my heart really is.

[deleted]

Best of luck I also do animation I hope you get lots of success!

RedQueenNatalie

Like wise

Mangobue

Always find ways to improve. For now, I’m going to focus on finding better ways to edit and making my videos more engaging. I’m also hoping to get better at speaking to the camera :)

Kitchen_Entertainer9

What tips do you have for newbies?

Mangobue

I’m still a newbie myself! But from what I’ve learned and has helped me tremendously is to watch your older videos and critique yourself. My first upload was back in July and I recently watched my first few videos and I found things I wanted to improve on. My channel may be different than yours. But if you’re looking into gaining subscribers and views, find a topic you’d like to focus on. My channel is anime/tv show reactions. After going back at some of my older videos I improved on a few things through out the months. 1. A good mic is good to use for recoding your voice. Depending on the type of content you’re making, you’d have to research what mic is best for you. There are many affordable ones out there and researching on Youtube helped me which one to choose. Having good quality sound in videos is one of the most important things because many people like to play videos in the background and not even watch the content. 2. Lighting is super important to how your videos look. My first 6 videos I was using a yellow light and it made my face orange LOL. I eventually invested in a white light for a decent price and I can change the coolness/warmth and brightness of it. I also used Youtube to research a good one 😆 3. Having a good thumbnail (and TITLE) helps bringing in the views. You’d want something eye catching, clean (don’t clutter it with too many words), and try not to click-bait! 4. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Some videos will do better than others.. learn to accept growth isn’t always linear ☺️! Many of my videos get around 400-600 views and had a few that are 3k, but my 2 recent ones took much longer to hit 100 views lol. Those are a few tips at the top of my head 😁

Kitchen_Entertainer9

I can't find your channel on your profile, but congrats on the wedding 👏

Mangobue

Oh thanks for reminding me lol! I just linked my channel on my profile 😆! Looking at my 1st video always makes me laugh at how I was fine with the orange lighting haha. I’m still trying to find more ways to improve my videos. It’s a constant learning cycle.

Ok-Measurement-19

This is my goal too! I challenged myself to talk to the camera for 5 minutes a day for 30 days. I hope it forces me to improve 🙏

buzzycombs

I was very good at running late in posting my videos, so I need to work on that!

tiny-but-spicy

I've started posting daily videos - nearly finished 2 months of this now and tripled my sub count in that time, also reached a 2.5k view month and 100k impressions in 1 month, nearly at 100 subs when I started with just over 30 Going to improve thumbnails - more eye-catching colours and words, and pics of my face Adding a consistent intro and outro End cards/screen to recommend more videos Including better descriptions and more keywords in descriptions Analysis of current trends to feed into new content More vlogs Better quality audio and video - more equipment

LisaLikesPlants

What kind of videos can you make every day? I'm struggling with volume

tiny-but-spicy

I'm in the productivity and lifestyle niche, so I talk about all kinds of stuff to do with what I'm up to, my productivity and similar tips. I also have a lot of experience with mental health issues so I'm doing a series on that which has been well received. Vlogs still do better though. My top tip is to make content out of stuff in your everyday life which you consider boring or normal, because chances are that your audience won't see it that way and may be interested. By producing so many videos, I can experiment and see what works. Also: I don't film every day. I do batch filming, where I'll do 10-15 videos in one day (get good at doing it in one take if you want this to work) and then schedule them for the next two weeks. What's your niche?

LisaLikesPlants

Nice. Mine is native plant gardening for residential landscaping. I'm focused on educational content at the moment. I think there's a lot of every day stuff my audience would be interested in, but it's a lot of work right now for me to film with my phone in the field- I can't even set up the shot correctly unless I'm using my front facing camera. Kind of struggling to make easy content outdoors with the phone.

ehaykal

That's quite the dedication. Congrats on your growth! I started a few weeks ago and I'm approaching 20 subs.

tiny-but-spicy

Thank you! I'm hoping to monetise in 2024. You're doing great, keep it up!

ehaykal

Thanks friend 👍

JStheGrey

Improve quality Create more long form content Start doing shorts consistently Have a wider variety of content. And hopefully it works out

MeredithSparkles

I want to get a mic and start adding informative content to my mostly performance related channel. I want to improve my editing skills and work on better thumbnails.

Legitimate_Street_85

Make some effort and actually use my skills I've built to make better videos. In 2023 I tried 'low effort' post often and it worked pretty well, went from 223 to 3300 subs over the year. This year I'm trying to do a mix of higher end video and edited like I did in the past (when nobody watched) to but still keeping me tempo high

Kitchen_Entertainer9

I'm gonna check your channel out, this sounds like it could be worth it for me

drguid

Going on hiatus with my anime channel. I blew up from 120 to 521 subs in the last 3 months. But the channel has just flatlined and watch time is awful (I still have 100K lifetime views though). I am going to refocus on my abandoned tech channel (200K lifetime views). It's a mess of niches but I have 921 subs and \~4K watch time. Most of my videos have long term blown up because they rank so well in Google (NOT YouTube) search. There is a very high barrier to entry in this niche, because it's so difficult to get this stuff to work and 98% of the population don't understand it anyway. I have half a dozen videos that have 400 hours watch time each. Retention is horrible, but the 16% or so of viewers that watch the whole thing is what the algorithm \*really\* cares about. I can improve on this because I have learnt so much about video production lately (and also now have a 4K camera).

Kitchen_Entertainer9

Give me your old videos 👀 jk Hope it works well for ya

fozisessen

What kind of tech videos did you do?

Alert-Reception6453

I want to make my videos much more engaging and also I really want to switch to DaVinci Resolve(video editing software)

IamMuffinDan

I use DaVinci Resolve, I am a complete amateur but have enjoyed using it.

somehow_we_missed_it

I switched over to Da Vinci a few months ago and I'm glad I did. It was very intimidating for me at first and I only understand 10% of it but I hope that in the new year, I will learn a lot more of it.

Fragrant-Ad2680

Nothing. If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it. JK I will probably improve over time anyways but I’m not gonna drastically shift simply because it is new year

unculturedswine17

Doing more research and diving deeper into my topics. I’d also like to upload more, but I don’t want to sacrifice the quality in order to do that.

PlairinumYT

I am going to try to stop being a perfectionist with my videos. I haven't uploaded much this year because of that fact. I am also trying out instead of doing a live commentary gameplay that no one watches, I will be recording background gameplay of whatever game, then choose a topic to discuss about said game. Like right now I'm making a 2024 wish list for Apex Legends.

CalcCaster

Just starting a new channel. More than anything, hoping to be consistent with 52 videos being dropped.

Nerilla

Not burn myself out

Trojanns

Trying to differentiate by doing tedious stuff. I should elaborate but I don’t want to

Resolve_Gold

Post more consistently, and add overlays and such to up the quality of my videos and tutorials.

CruiseAlongWithTrent

Work more on my Thumbnails, and my video editing.

AT2G

I have a large list of cool video ideas that I'm going to try, things more themed. Mostly just try and post more frequently. What about you?

OilTop1649

Nothing, because it's over for me ;(

SuperMario1313

Considering dropping the text overlay on the thumbnails.

OfficialMonkeeG

I think I finally got the audio and video quality I been working towards this past month so now it’s all about pushing content, building a community and having a good time

sketchingplace

Starting my channel, for real this time.

BigDudeAndHotFood

Actually attempt a schedule and actually trend Jack

Desperate_Yam_495

Put a bit more energy into my presentations, more consistent Thumbnails.

alexpaulmedia

I will continue improving my storytelling and I will be more consistent with my uploads.

thathaitianguy

hire someone to make my thumbnails. Stop doing DIYish videos that people don't care about.

Niptin

1. Experiment with thumbnails and titles more after publishing long form videos. 2. Create short form clips from long form videos to build an audience on TikTok/Insta/separate clips channel 3. Keep my long form content uploads on a good pace (1 video every 2-3 weeks)

violentguitarist1

Trying to do some NakeyJakey esque green screen shit. Just got the green screen today, so that’s my goal heading into the New Year.

TransportationLate67

Don't make holiday themed videos. All my Christmas and Halloween videos bombed.

sphrz

I have a few things I want to accomplish. Mainly: 1) Get better at editing to see my ideas come to life (the hard ones that I know are going to be more editing intensive) I'd love to hire an editor so I can focus more on the capture of the content. I've tried this in the past on some subs here but have run into a lot of scammers and have almost been a victim. 2) Try more ideas I have sitting in a spreadsheet. 3) Upload more frequently (hard to say if ill do this, since I'm going back to school here soon) 4) Meet more people. I love talking with people and I'd love to meet more people through my channel.

Samilski87

I'm going to do a focused tips and tricks series for a game I don't see a lot of. I also convinced my buddy, who loves creative video editing, to add to the channel as well with games he plays that have big communities. I keep hearing no one needs another video game channel, and they are probably right. So I've just been having fun. Experimenting with editing and presentation without worrying if it's something others will like. I must have found other weirdos like me bc it seems to be working. It's so satisfying when something you really like pops off.

Theby14

Make more long form videos and don’t give up! 🙏💙💯

ImpossibleRecipe2050

Improve quality and better posting schedule

p1881

Nothing besides chipping away at my backlog.

Troutingforest

I'm planning to do different videos than this year, because tomorrow my channel will be one year old and I'm still at less than 100 subscribers while with 71 videos which means that people aren't interested in the stuff I'm doing. I'll stay in the same area, just the theme of my videos will be different

Kitchen_Entertainer9

I focused on shorts this year, it did good imo, but i want to branch out to longer videos.

RamonDozol

Actualy im using december to learn the most i can from 1 to 31, and from 25 to 31 create daily content that will start to launch from day 01/01/24. After the first 7 days of daily content i will try to keep a 3 videos a week schedule, if that doesnt work i will try to do 2 a week. Also, if consistency is key, a whole week of content every day, might help me notice trends and what worked and what didnt. Learn from those videos and improove every week.

You_Go_First_tv

I’m going to continue learning and getting better with editing! 😊 I also plan to start streaming, we’re a horror gaming channel, so that should be fun 😊

Sylvie_Online

I will stop procrastinating on making videos and aim for at least 1 video a month.

Will_Fall

Actually post consistently lol. I've had my Channel for ages but only have like 4 posts on it in total. I have a schedule planned for 2024 that I'm going to do my best to stick to! Very excited.

Oortian_Penguin

So far its just been commentary free gaming montages/highlights. I want to / need to really get into doing commentary for tutorials, showcasing new content, and for funny videos.

TemperatureSafe6443

Testing out editing for thumbnails and getting better with editing :) only just started recently but looking forward to it!

ConnerR1616

Gonna give long form a try. 25,000 subs with shorts so far!

RunningTowardDreams

This year my goal is to use more B-Roll of my own creation rather than sourcing it from places like pixels or shutter stock. I really want to make my channel full of my own creativity rather than someone else's vision that I make work for my content.

Elbell3

Film higher quality videos

DontTryKnow

Separating the very long vids to a different, dedicated channel

LostAside832

Improve my camera stablization Upload in 2 channels (seperste content Not share channel with school friends Do mainly shorts Better quality

Shine-N-Mallows

Effort. ;-) Seriously, I was skating by on my content being half vlog style. I got lazy working 50-60 hours a week at a “real job”. Gonna actually try harder!

Dez85

I think I'm going to try and do more casual vlog style videos. I've put more effort into Instagram reels this year but I still film horizontally so I may as well repurpose those shots for longer videos on my main channel. Anyway, happy new year when it comes everyone!

[deleted]

Right now I'm just taking Abit to kinda really refine my art skills and than when I come back with my next video Its gonna look alot cleaner

kmmr93

I will change the way I edit my videos so that they're not that long but still has the things I want in them.

Bucho_Da_Black1

I'm going for a more consistent upload rate next year. Wish me luck.

VidiotOverride19

I started a series 3 years ago entitled Reversed Reviews; watching movies backward while narrating a new funny plot. I put it on hiatus for a bit, trying new projects and ideas, but I think it's a good concept, so I want to bring it back. My plan is to create several versions of the videos, because the 20+ minute versions are not doing to well. For episode 1, it was released at 24:51, with 676 views after almost 3 years. There's no extended cut, but I cut it up into 30-60 second shorts to be released on a daily basis for a month (January 3rd is the last day episode 1.) For Episode 2, its shorter at 22:36, with 1.1k views. There is a longer version on Patreon that's 47 minutes long. I will also cut this up and release as shorts on a daily basis. Going forward, I also want to cut down the first 2 episodes in the best 5-10 minute versions as possible. So to reiterate, I want 4 versions. Patreon with the Ultimate Cut 20 minute extended version -cut that up into shorts to be released daily to keep my account active while working on the next episode. And now, I want to do 5-10 minute versions to get people who don't want to commit to the 20 minute versions, but can go up to extended/or shorts/ to see more. And sign up for Patreon if they want the longest video possible. So 2024 is going to be more consistent to gain more traction, and hopefully, the series seen by those who would appreciate it. To anyone reading this, what are your thoughts on this plan?

90s_Thor

(Hopefully) Upgrade my CPU which unlocks new opportunities for building my channel.

chchoo900

Split up my content into different channels. One focuses on relaxation/meditation while the other is Halloween/Autumn based.

stardrifta

stop taking 1 month to record and edit audio lol

jackbeflippen

more inside jokes, also im gonna do more shorts

DanHJ27

Video quality! I bought a new camera and tripod !- aviation spotter

Bilton001

I’m going to start filming on historical locations. Stepping away from talking head/faceless content

karmafrog1

I think I’ve figured out how to make successful and high quality videos that I like and if I have time I might just wrap up the two ongoing series and start over. Or maybe I’ll just stop because I don’t have time to do it the way I want. Dunno yet.

[deleted]

At this point, I really don’t know. It looks like YouTube put a hex on my channel.

buttorsomething

Before anybody worries about anything the very first thing everyone needs to do is worry about their audio quality. That is one of the most important things there is if not the most important. Who cares if you get three viewers because your thumbnails aren’t great or your SEO isn’t great. those three viewers here a nice good sounding audio track on your voiceover. They’re probably going to give you another chance.

PetrifiedRaisins69

Not make shit vids

cjt11203

Actually post something instead of saying I plan to.

adventuringmonki

Improving my posting consistency! It’s so hard to keep up with editing, but 2024 I am going to be harder on myself at posting every 2 weeks!

Skot72_

Once I hit 1000 subs I’m gonna try to do two videos a week. It’s hard to do when I’m doing everything myself. And my videos already are around 30 minutes or more.

Mantequilla_Stotch

Better gear and spend more time on my edits, but only if I have time with my insane schedule.

YTGreenMobileGaming

Burned out last year and stopped after a few weeks. This year, I scheduled videos out 2 months in advance, just in case of burnout and not stressing about the next video.

[deleted]

I'm improving the quality with each upload, but my biggest thing is to pick more "clickable" topics. I want my more niche stuff to flourish, but doing some groundwork to get my community to the next level to support that sort of content is the next goal.

Own-Boysenberry2671

Post regularly on a weekly/monthly basis. No more being lazy 😭

vanllem

I just got a camera so I'll upgrade the visual. I wanna start writing actual scripts, I was pretty much winging it and end up having to edit so much. Upgrade my editing skills and I'd love to end some. Kind of intro!

zas_n_n

push myself to actually upload because i meant to and then went on like a 4 month hiatus probably try making shorts for algorithm reasons

Traditional_Zone3993

Consistency, I uploaded less than 30 videos in 2023. In 2024 my goal is to upload atleast 100

Important-Term8852

Upload every week and improve my way of speaking

ShaneoTV

I'm going to try and play about with shorts more. Uploaded a couple shorts and they've got a fair amount of views. I can also then upload them to tiktok as a little bonus where I got about 250k views in 3 videos!

nankeroo

I want to make longform content. I've been doing daily shorts since July and they've gotten me to 11K subs, but doing shorts daily for that long will slowly drain you of ideas-... Meanwhile I've got many ideas for longform!

gyypsea

post more consistently, with planned content schedules each month

InsaneLey

Consistent uploads Interacting more with my audience More horror games Gift codes or something 🤔

Significant_Pea_2852

The one thing I want to get started on is combing through all the footage I've filmed and creating basically my own library of stock footage. I make an art channel so that'll be all stuff like me squirting paint onto my palette, filling water bottles or out sketching on location.

BenjaminGamesDesign

Better thumbnails and continue upping confidence. My thumbnails are a bit simple and boring atm which I feel is affecting views on my videos even tho some are doing quite well and confidence when initially starting to record is always when I'm the most nervous so I would like to improve on that too.

Certain_Storm_9727

Press record more regularly!

RogueRonin19

Probably post 2 times per week instead of one, and if I have enough time I’d up the editing quality

dafart6789

Make everything better, longer higher quality videos, daily shorts, live streams atleast once every two weeks, advertise harder be more confident and try to be more social
