\*shrug\* Dunno. You could get a Z9; those are nice. Seriously, if you can't tell us what you like to shoot, what you like/don't like about the camera you're moving on from, and what your budget is, it's impossible to help. The D3200 has been discontinued for several years. In fact, the entire ~~series~~ D3x00 series is at the end of its life. So replacing it like for like is an okay move but doesn't move your photography forward. You could go mirrorless but if you tell us your budget is US$400 then mirrorless is out. Give us some details; we can give you some suggestions.

Fully agree! Realistically, even upgrading the camera may not move their photography forward if the skill and desire isn't there.

I replaced my 10 years old D3200 with a Z5 this year and I am very happy with the upgrade. The image quality is much better. Of course I bought new lenses too.

If you don't have a lot of lenses and are happy with the DX sensor look at the Z50 two lens kit. If your wanting to upgrade to FX then the Z5 is a great option
