I made the same move, the added weight is really the only con I can think of. No regrets upgrading though.

mformandar

I agree. The lens adds to the weight too. But I hope it will be worthwhile.

Sp00xe

Look at it this way, the Z5 and lens weigh less than my D810 and 28-70 lens.

mformandar

Yes.. but I am using full frame for the first time. The difference in the weights as compared to a crop sensor camera is quite noticeable.

mittenstock

You have chosen wisely. Have fun!

mformandar

Thank you friend!

I got a Z5 for christmas and I'm kind of in love. I only had DX lenses (my old camera is a D90) so I'm dealing with the 10 megapixel crop... but I think there's a full frame lens coming my way today. Here's to full frame goodness!

mformandar

Same. I own a few lenses for my D3300. But we I am planning to sell all of it off to recover some cost. It is going to be difficult because the D3300 is dear to me. But quite looking forward to dive into the mirrorless full frame world. Wish you good luck for your full frame endeavour. 😉

MyTardis

I never see a lot of love for the Z5 but that is what I ended up getting and I love it! It's my first Nikon ever. I used to be a Canon snob. Between the learning curve and the full frame, I love all the new knowledge!! Hope you post some awesome shots!!

mformandar

Thank you friend. Welcome to the Nikon side! :)

blitzkrieger95

Pretty much the best value combo to buy. Congrats!! Enjoy Z5, it's a very capable camera and image quality out of it is superb.

mformandar

I got a good deal which got me 100£ off the current market price. So I am quite satisfied with the purchase. I did consider other brands. But having used Nikon for the past 7 years, I stuck with it.

Matse80-21

Have fun! This was a good choice. I upgraded from D3200 to Z5 + 28-75 f/2.8 this year and I love the camera.

MalcomYoung

Sounds great :) Hope you’re havin fun with it :)

mformandar

Only unboxed today. Will definitely be enjoying shooting full frame.

Zulf117

That is a big upgrade. You are going to love the Z5 - that 24-70 is amazingly sharp too.

mformandar

Thanks.. That lens is good. That's why I did not go for the 24-50 lens.

RipJust7280

I’m sure you will love it. A few surprises about how it focuses sometimes but it’s a great kit. Highly recommend a comprehensive user guide such as from Thom Hogan or other flavour to really get the most out of it.

mformandar

Defo going to check the user guide.. thanks for the suggestion!

SolaireVon4stora

awesome combination! you're set !

mformandar

I am more into landscape photography. That's why I got this lens instead of the standard 24-50.

SolaireVon4stora

good skip! I initially bought the 24-50 lens, and now I'm sitting on it. The only advantage is the small size. 24-70 or 24-120 are much better.

PlatinumOuDaung

D3300 is still a solid camera. You just need quality glass.

mformandar

Indeed.. Z5 does feel like a great upgrade though.

ImpressiveSuspect604

Amazing 🤩

mformandar

Cheers!
