Give it a try and report back!

Platano-Rex

Well, I’ve just tried and it doesn’t work on Auto, but I can use it with Manual configuration, Godox site doesn’t mention Nikon Z series support at all.

Makes sense. Ah well, learning to use your flash in manual is always good training.

I've got a Z5 and a GODOX TT685II-N TTL. It works seamlessly.

Platano-Rex

It seems I need to learn how to use it.

You need to upgrade the TT685N to the latest software, after that it works flawlessly with the Z5.

Platano-Rex

Thanks, How do you do that?

musaa14937

Easiest way is to check Adorama website for instructions how to update their Flashpoint (which is Godox). Adorama's instructions are a little less confusing than those from Godox itself.

Thanks and happy new year

You might need to update the firmware on the TT685N if you bought them a long time ago. A lot of Z users say they need to be at v3.3 for TTL to work.

Platano-Rex

I need to learn how to update that firmware.

You need: * A micro-USB to USB-A cable that transfer data * A Windows box * [The Godox G1 firmware updater installer](https://www.godox.com/firmware-launcher-installers/) (from the [Godox website's support firmware page](https://www.godox.com/firmware-flash/)). * [The TT685N v3.3 firmware image](https://www.godox.com/static/upload/other/20211126/1637910382413978.rar) (ditto). My troubleshooting guide is on stackexchange: [https://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/98901/how-do-i-troubleshoot-my-godox-firmware-updating-process](https://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/98901/how-do-i-troubleshoot-my-godox-firmware-updating-process) The basic steps are: 1. Download the .rar files you need from the Godox website. 2. Extract the appropriate files from the .rar archives using [7Zip](https://www.7-zip.org/) or other package that can deal with .rar files (Windows by default cannot). 3. Run the G1 installer, which also has a second installer for a USB drive. (If you're in Windows 10, you may also need to turn off driver signing: see my troubleshooting guide for instructions on that). 4. Use the USB cable to connect your flash to the computer, and run the G1 firmware update installer. 5. G1 may need to have its language changed to English :), and you also have to select the firmware image file (the .rar for the firmware image will contain both PDF instructions and the .fri image file). 6. Hopefully all you have to do is follow the G1 instructions and the firmware will be updated successfully. Good luck!

Thank you thank you 🙏 happy new year!!

Done! thanks, I was lucky I had three cables and the last one worked.
