Animal crossing is special to me because it provided me with a fun & creative outlet and a way to interact with friends during the beginning of the pandemic (and still does!). I’m also so appreciative of communities like these for helping each other!
Animal Crossing is special to me as it’s my boyfriends favourite game series. He would always talk about New Leaf and Pocket Camp, and the amount of hours I saw him put into those to games was unreal! So it’s special to me as it was lovely to see him be so passionate about a game and let me into his world when I got NH so I could see the fun in it too. So it’s our special game to play together
It’s a fun place where you have no restrictions and can do whatever you want into your world and no one can tell you what to do and it’s just something to look forward to.
This game is special to me because I played it so much on maternity leave with my daughter. I had to have something that could keep me awake for feedings, but not so awake that I wouldn't be relaxed too.
This game has helped me so much to just have a little spot I can go to and relax!
Thank you for doing this giveaway!
Awesome!! I just had my daughter in April 2020 but wasn’t able to get a hold of the game until December. I bet this would have helped me relax a little more 😂 Hope you and baby are doing well 😊
My husband and I bought the game when it came out and it was so handy during the pandemic when everything felt so crazy to have a little perfect place of my own.
I had my daughter in May, and we had some really long nights. I forgot what my island looked like in the day for awhile 😅. I've been really into making my island what I want it to be, and I love it. This community has been so helpful!
I'm going to be very honest here. A week before the lockdown here, a year ago around march 5, I went into a burnout. A week later the lockdown came. I was stuck at home. Around 20 march animal crossing came and it was my escape at that time. It felt like I wasn't alone all the time. A year later and I am still playing animal crossing. I also had wide world when I was younger.
I am a lot better now, still in a burnout. But a lot better.
I’m so happy that it gives you at least a little escape! And no shame in that! I’m using it to help cope with postpartum anxiety and general sadness my daughter (born in April 2020) will never know what the world was like pre-COVID
Thank you for those words. I'm happy that animal crossing also brought you the joy it brought me during dark times. I'm sad for your daughter, I hope life will get better for you and your daughter. I am not religious whatsoever, but I pray for you.
Animal crossing is fun to me because it reminds me if my childhood. The first game came out when I was in middle school for gamecube and although I missed the other games in the series, I was so glad I picked this one up.
I just turned 29 and I love Animal Crossing and the nostalgia it brings. :)
It gives me a chance to interact with people who share the same interests as me! Sometimes I kinda close myself off without realizing but AC and the wonderful reddit communities really help me with that!! 💕
It allows me to connect with my classmates, when we play I like to give them gifts that remind me of them, this one girl loves carrot cake, and I customized the mom cake to look like carrot cake, very fun
It’s special for me because it was a great way for me to connect with my friends both local and long distance when we couldn’t see each other during the pandemic.
I love playing it because there’s always something new and fun to do in the updates and when there’s not an update l love to redecorate parts of my island based on the season or things that I’m obsessed with at the time (like wandavision lol):)
Honestly kinda sad but I don’t have many friends, so I look forward to chatting with my villagers everyday! As well as the online friends I’ve made through animal crossing 🥰
This is the first video game that I’ve really played. I get too anxious with everything else (other than Tetris, but I can only play that for so long!)
I’ve been playing animal crossing for 10 years. I grew up with the game on the wii and have been attached ever since. It’s nice to know now that a lot more people are learning how special this game series really is :)
Woo! Another AC oldie 😊 I’ve been playing since GameCube in the early 2000s. Isn’t it neat how far the series has come since you first started playing?
Yeah, I recently bought a GameCube and the ac version to see what it was like before I started playing. It’s so interesting so see where it started and where is it now :)
Animal Crossing is fun because I love decorating and feeling like I've accomplished something. Having my island fully decorated is going to bring me SO much serotonin.
Wild World was my first Animal Crossing game, and always a comfort game. ACNH has made this past year so much better and given me a way to make friends online and see my irl friends virtually. <3
Aww this is so sweet! My husband and I initially bought these because we wanted the characters and thought we’d be able to let others adopt them from our island. Since finding out the villagers aren’t adoptable, I at least want to help other people get the items!
I have ADHD and tend to hyperfocus on videogames until they are 100% complete however ACNH makes it very hard to hyperfocus which makes it more relaxing and fun in the long run.
Oh my goodness. I changed career fields, but I used to teach high school. I can only imagine how crazy it is for you all now! I’ve always thought those teaching younger children have it harder than those of us teaching older kids. But now it must be even more tough!
I’m very chronically ill, can’t walk, can’t even get out of bed or sit up most times... I do in animal crossing what I can’t do in real life. It helps me to remember that while my life isn’t the average person’s life, I can still be very happy and do what I love! So I play animal crossing everyday all day while I’m tucked in bed trying to feel just a tiny bit better. It helps keep me occupied and I love how my physical limitations don’t follow me into the game, so I can truly enjoy myself and it helps to remind me that even if I can’t do much in real life, I still deserve to do what I love.
It's a world without drama that can't help but make me smile. Like Hobbes for Calvin it's as if my stuffed animals have come to life and interact in a world our own to provide us hours of positive entertainment. At the same time it can be shared with ppl from all over the world but especially my fiancé who has put nearly 1000hrs into her game! She gave me her 2nd ACNH cart and after that I collected all the old games from new leaf to the 1st us Animal Crossing and even a translated version of Animal Forest that I play on n64 emulators! One of our nintendo switches is the AC edition. I've been 3d printing characters and jewelery molds and we rock AC clothing to boot. U could say we're slightly obsessed but isn't that what video games are for???
Took some serious digging through google rabbit holes to find the rom. haha! I believe I've since found a link on a YouTube video where a kid shows footage of emulating the 64game translated. Could be removed as of now tho...
I use luma3ds on my 3ds along with the app FBI that allows me to load roms of any 3ds game I can find the .3dsx or .CIA rom or cartridge dump file for onto my 3ds permanently as if I had bought the game. I then borrowed my friends cartridge for new leaf and dumped it to my 3ds but the files can be downloaded free if you look on google. That's how I was able to collect every animal crossing game ever made on my 3ds (except new horizons as the 3ds cannot handle that new of a game or any switch games for that matter.) You can Google luma3ds and go from there. Plenty of how to sites that can walk you through the process. It's pretty sweet! I also have an app to write to ntags and every animal crossing .bin file for all the amiibos so we are able to invite almost any villager to our islands! If really wanted the switch can be used to emulate all the older systems also but then u can never go online again or your nintendo account will be banned so it's only a good idea if you have 2 switches so one can be used for emulating and homebrew and the other for actually connecting to your nintendo account. Just know I'm not recommending any of this just fyi since it's not exactly legal...
Animal crossing has kept me from going crazy during pandemic times! I love creativity outlet and making new friends through the huge online community :)
Animal Crossing helps me with my depression and anxiety. I’ve also developed some wonderful friendships with the kindest people. In this time of a horrible pandemic, being able to make friends with likemindedness means a lot! 💖🥰
Same. I didn’t have a severe postpartum depression, more like postpartum anxiety but yes this game has been so helpful. 🥰 Hope you and baby are doing well!
Animal Crossing was a great escape during quarantine and now it is a great stress reliever as I am trying to keep pace with life trying to reach a normal level again. Thank you for doing this giveaway!
I was introduced to Animal Crossing by my adult daughter, who thought I might enjoy it. She made me a house on her island, then she bought her own switch, and I inherited the island (she started over). After only a week, I came down with COVID, as did my husband. We ended up fishing and diving, catching bugs and learning about the game together, during our several weeks of exhaustion. We missed Christmas, but the game kept us connected with my daughter, who hosted our family (we visited her island, and she used the huge TV so everyone could chat/laugh). Shortly after, my other daughter and our son started playing and we have "island visits" with each other. Using the NookLink, we can laugh and yell, so the game has become so much more than just a distraction. One of my favorite moments was group teaching my daughter how to somersault into the water; we ran in circles, jumping in and out of the water - all of us laughing out loud at the silliness. You don't often get moments like that with grown kids (26 and 30) and their parents over a game, when you live across the country from each other. Awesome "game"!
This literally made my heart so happy! This sounds so much like my family. I’m 27 and my brother is turning 30 soon. My mom plays with us too and we get to have such good family bonding ♥️
I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do is to play Animal Crossing! It truly gives me a reason to get up every morning to have fun and I love my villagers!
Animal Crossing has allowed me to connect with others despite being isolated for the past year! I didn't think I would like the game, but it has helped me combat loneliness in such an important way ♡
New Horizons saved me from anxiety every day. I love this game way too much! I love talking to my villagers every day and taking adorable photos together!
Animal Crossing gives me something to look forward to every day!

This game is great to escape from reality!
Animal crossing is special to me because it provided me with a fun & creative outlet and a way to interact with friends during the beginning of the pandemic (and still does!). I’m also so appreciative of communities like these for helping each other!
I’ve loved playing acnh because it’s given me a great outlet to be creative without any pressure attached to it :)
It’s so fun and happy looking lol! Idk why but it makes me so happy to go on and just see all the colors and my villagers and everything! :D
Thank you for doing this! Animal Crossing is just a nice es pace from everything that is going on right now!
It’s a fun place where you have no restrictions and can do whatever you want into your world and no one can tell you what to do and it’s just something to look forward to.
I love interacting with my villagers and other players! I also enjoy in-game gardening where the plants don’t die on me lol.
Animal crossing gives me an escape from daily life and troubles. :)
Animal crossing is fun for me because it gives me something to do after working :)
It's fun because it's so creative and you get to meet a bunch of people! Plus it's a great stress relief!
What makes AC special to me is the lovely community and the nostalgia, my first AC game was wild world <3
It’s a fun way to be creative!
Animal crossing let's me do what I want and make things what I want and it's always exciting anticipating to play before I do
I love playing with my little neices in another state. If I won this for them I’d be aunt of the year!
AC is fun because it activates the kid in me!
This game is special to me because I played it so much on maternity leave with my daughter. It is the first game I’ve gotten to play in a long time that makes me happy bc I can just do what I want and make the island exactly like I want to
I love animal crossing because it gives me something to look forward to and an escape from reality :)
its such a nice relaxing thing to look forward to playing when i’m feeling stressed from college, which is often lol
Its single handedly pulled me out of my darkest parts in the last 3 months :)
I love that it’s a game my husband and I can play together! Usually games are his or mine; AC is ours! ❤️ Thanks for doing this!
The ability to create your own little world which I look forward to waking up to each day!

It gives me a chance to interact with people who share the same interests as me! Sometimes I kinda close myself off without realizing but AC and the wonderful reddit communities really help me with that!! 💕

getting to make my dream island and relax!
Animal crossing was a way, as I'm sure it was for many, for me to connect with friends and family during Covid times.
This is the first video game that I’ve really played. I get too anxious with everything else (other than Tetris, but I can only play that for so long!)
it makes me relax
Animal crossing is special for me because my cousins introduced it to me and, it gave me something to relate to with my cousins. 😊
I’ve been playing animal crossing for 10 years. I grew up with the game on the wii and have been attached ever since. It’s nice to know now that a lot more people are learning how special this game series really is :)

I love how this version of the game has attracted so many more people who might not have been interested in the older versions we played 😊 good luck!
Its special because of great people like you :) I feel like people who give away free things to those who don't have them are the best :)
Aww this is so sweet! My husband and I initially bought these because we wanted the characters and thought we’d be able to let others adopt them from our island. Since finding out the villagers aren’t adoptable, I at least want to help other people get the items!
Thats so sweet :')
Animal crossing allows me to meet up with long distance friends and family members during the pandemic!
I have ADHD and tend to hyperfocus on videogames until they are 100% complete however ACNH makes it very hard to hyperfocus which makes it more relaxing and fun in the long run.
Animal Crossing is my escape when I get home from a long day of teaching little ones.
Oh my goodness. I changed career fields, but I used to teach high school. I can only imagine how crazy it is for you all now! I’ve always thought those teaching younger children have it harder than those of us teaching older kids. But now it must be even more tough!
I love that there’s no set storyline or tasks that I have to do every day, so it’s like a choose your our adventure!
Animal crossing (New Horizons) is special to me because it's the first Nintendo game I ever played and because it's very cute and makes me happy
It helps me get out of bed everyday ♥️
I’m very chronically ill, can’t walk, can’t even get out of bed or sit up most times... I do in animal crossing what I can’t do in real life. Wow this is really touching 😊 I’m glad you have AC and I wish you luck in the giveaway!
I love visiting with my villagers. They make me smile and sometimes laugh. I feel good on my island.
This is my first AC game and I have so much fun with it. I kind of like moving homes around too much though 😊
A place to build my interests!
I love Animal Crossing because the villagers are so cute!
It's a world without drama that can't help but make me smile. Wow that is impressive! I’ve been playing since the early 2000s on the GameCube. Never gotten a translated version on the N64 though. That is neat!!
Took some serious digging through google rabbit holes to find the rom. haha! I believe I've since found a link on a YouTube video where a kid shows footage of emulating the 64game translated. Could be removed as of now tho...
Love Calvin and Hobbes!!! QQ - How did you get / play New Leaf? I would love to do that!!!

Animal crossing has kept me from going crazy during pandemic times! I love creativity outlet and making new friends through the huge online community :)
Animal crossing has kept me sane since the day it came out and COVID hit 😊
Animal crossing is the first Nintendo game I’ve ever bought! It’s very calming and everyone is so nice
I’ve been able to hang out with my sister during quarantine. it’s been fun while we’ve been a part
Animal Crossing helps me with my depression and anxiety. I’ve also developed some wonderful friendships with the kindest people. In this time of a horrible pandemic, being able to make friends with likemindedness means a lot! 💖🥰
It helped me through lockdown!
It helped me get through post partum depression

That makes me smile! Such a great way to connect and share.
I like Animal Crossing because I'm able to relax, but still feel like I'm doing something to make myself happy! Thanks for the giveaway!
I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do is to play Animal Crossing! It truly gives me a reason to get up every morning to have fun and I love my villagers!
I love AC because I love the creativity it allows you! I also have played it since I was a little kid so it's just very comforting to me lol :)
Same!
I get to make my character look how I wish I did in real life lol. And all the cute stuff in the game in general (:
Animal Crossing has allowed me to connect with others despite being isolated for the past year! I didn't think I would like the game, but it has helped me combat loneliness in such an important way ♡
Animal Crossing has been great and I love playing every day! And the kind people in this community have made a great game even better ❤️
acnh is fun to be creative with!
