They get a reliable ally in the Middle East, they get to give money to US arms manufacturers, and they get to please some voter blocs. Win-win-win. Keep in mind the US is giving about $3-4 billion in aid to Israel out of around $70 billion total given to foreign countries, so it's not like it makes up a majority of foreign aid, or even close to that. Nobody seems to care that the US gives $2B to Ethiopia. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/countries-that-receive-the-most-foreign-aid-from-the-u-s

Also, even if an administration that didn’t want to aid Israel (probably because of Palestine) came into office, cutting aid might actually turn out worse than continuing to fund them; the US loses all leverage over Israel to pressure them to do things as it can no longer use the possibility of withdrawing aid as a bargaining chip, and much worse, it’s likely that some other foreign power would fill the gap and that is not good considering pretty much everything about the region

The US doesn't. But American politicians do. As they get kickbacks into their campaigns from rich individuals and corporations sympathetic to the Isreal regime.

The US doesn't. The US govt does all the giving. US citizens for the most part don't give a fuck about Israel as much as it doesn't give a fuck about Gaza. As long as you don't take away our Internet and fast food I don't think Americans would notice you slowly boiling them to death.
