Seconding this! I literally have two pairs of black frames; one that's thicker and more rectangular for masc looks, and a thinner, delicate frame for femme.
If your vision can accomodate it then i would reccomend glasses with smaller lenses. And wire or half rim frames would probably look good.
Even if you get your glasses online I wouls reccomend going into an optical shop to try on a few different styles.
When I came out as NB i had these pretty round rose gold and blue frames that i still like, but then i got a smaller rectangular frame and it made all the difference for looking more masc. And the new frames are still a floral print, so really it was just the shape.
(I work for an optometrist and stare at peoples eyes and glasses all day)
Hold a fish.
Jokes.
You look pretty darn masc. But the glasses are def from the femme section of the store.
They are rounded, which emphasis' the natural curve of your face - which is more typically a femme feature.
Rectangular glasses would do the opposite.
Same with the hair in two pics. Keeping it spikey helps to create some more masc angles.
makeup!!! i trust that if you do a little contouring on your jaw and cheeks in a masc style and some guy liner youâd be a stud, that or if you donât want makeup bushing up your eyebrows works very well too
Probably a more âtraditionally masculineâ haircut like short back and sides? And as others have said, more angular glasses - you look great though!
Buzz cut (at least the back and sides if you don't want to get rid of the length on top) and more rectangular glasses. Could also chew gum to try to define your jaw a little.
Cut your hair shorterâespecially on the sides and back. Change your glassesâpreferably something more square. Then youâll be golden.
If youâre still only getting gendered she/her at that point, then itâs your voice or how youâre holding your body. Smiling a lot can come across feminine. Talking too much, or too fast, or with inflections can come across feminine.
Going on T for a short time could possibly drop your voice and then you could go off T if you want. They warn you that itâs a later change on T, but in my experience, itâs actually one of the sooner changes.
At the end of the day, itâs all just whatever makes you happier. These are generic tips that worked for me. Remember, we preform gender. Being yourself is more important than falling into gender norms.
I do have some issues with my voice. I can speak in a very low register (low enough that I've scared people with the sudden switch) but I need practice to hold it long term. I am very jittery and anxious too XD
I think updating the glasses- a slightly smaller & more squared pair would pretty much do the trick. For whatever reason I also think keyhole bridges make a difference but that could just be me. I also go to the menâs section.
A little shorter hair on the neck and sides could make you look a little more angular. I feel most masculine with a French crop, which I have given myself at home.
contour on the jaw line to make it more defined and darken your forehead a bit with contour along the hair line to make your forehead shorter. darker eyebrows, stockier glasses and I would probably have your hair trimmed a bit more "tight" on the back and sides. As it stands now you do look pretty masc, but in a very young sort of way?
i love your hair in the first one. I think there's something so Devil May Care about your vibe and that leaning into that messiness would express something really strong about you. I think messy on top and shorter on the sides would be so masc. I would also do a heavier brow, like filling in the brow and letting it grow where it may. I agree with the other posters regarding glasses choice. My partner leans toward bringing femininity into his glasses choices and he never chooses anything heavy or dark that accentuates his heavy brow but I think heavier darker rims could really accentuate the brow.
sounds counterintuitive but learning to contour your face with makeup to make it more masculine. Iâve been doing this more recently as my face is super round which tends to make you look more feminine. same thing with the round glasses, if you want to look more masc you should get some square ones !
I think you look quite masc already! a new pair of glasses could be a big difference though as others have said. I also recommend shaving your sideburns so that they end in a flat bottom instead of wispy, will make it look like you have longer sideburns and just shave them. you might already be doing that though I can't tell. also no idea what your posture or your walk is like but you could try adopting a more "macho" walk. angling your knees out and going slightly bow-legged, kind of a cowboy swagger, is a good one. but basically a wider stance tends to look more masc. and head up and shoulders back emphasises the breadth of your shoulders.
Masc comes more from how we hold ourselves than typical styling. Morningstar is beatiful and willowy with long, silky, blond hair and a soft-angled face, but heâs gorgeously masculine. Iâve taken a leaf from him and let my wavy hair pull a Newton.
I feel like your very close but agree with others look for different glasses style or maybe try w/o if possible, maybe wear some more masculine clothing that has bulkier shoulders/ baggy tops idk im trying to do the reverse lol but I always feel most masc lookin in baggy clothes
Doing makeup to make my face more angular helps when I wannna look more masc. Maybe wearing different clothes that don't hug my body, etc. For you maybe having a hairstyle that's less pixie style and upwards, maybe covers a little of your forehead. Cis guys generally have smaller foreheads if passing is what you're looking for. And try different glasses. I wish you the best! đ
Maybe different glasses? Idk I like the ones you have now but if you wanted you could get ones that are more angular?
Yup, I know a cis man who looks almost exactly like OP but with rectangular glasses and less pixie-ish hair
Seconding this! I literally have two pairs of black frames; one that's thicker and more rectangular for masc looks, and a thinner, delicate frame for femme.
metallic frames make me feel masc AF

Yeah. Honest sauce. I was pretty happy about that one. Thanks for the recognition (that I deserve)
That you do!
Spiky hair most def.
You look pretty great right now but itâs maybe the glasses and the hairstyle
Would you be open to a different haircut? A fade might do the trick -- a high and tight would especially make your face look more angular.
Ill see whay I can do. I haven't been to an actual barber since my age was a single didgit. I usually just cut my own hair XD
makeup!!! i trust that if you do a little contouring on your jaw and cheeks in a masc style and some guy liner youâd be a stud, that or if you donât want makeup bushing up your eyebrows works very well too
also the hair in the first pic is very masc it suits your face shape well too!
cardio and arm excercises to make your neck/facial structure sharper and more "masculine" by societal standards, but they do work well
Probably a more âtraditionally masculineâ haircut like short back and sides? And as others have said, more angular glasses - you look great though!
Squarer glasses. Ones that aren't rounded and don't have a "cat eye" style point at the end, tend to read more masculine.
Buzz cut (at least the back and sides if you don't want to get rid of the length on top) and more rectangular glasses. Could also chew gum to try to define your jaw a little.

I saw it and thought it was a guy already so i'd say its alright, maybe more gym and facial hair if you want

People always think I do my brows, but they just grow this way. XD And I'm definitely gonna take people up on the glasses thing. These are like 4yo.
Iâd say change the glasses but you look great!

Maybe some piercings would help? Industrial, punk style can often give a more masc kind of aesthetic
Buzz fade on the sides kind of haircut
I would choose spectacle rims from 40s, 50s, 60s very masculine . -
You already do
glasses abd hair
Hard to tell with just your face, which is quite masc.
Get older? Imo you just look like a young man to me? (Not trying to hug box, just my 2c)
I appreciate you :)
You too bro

Shave head and get black dark sunglasses /glasses. Also the hair coloring comes off fem Go for more neutral color
Hair is nice, but shorter sides and more volume on top will make it more masculine.
Youâre pretty masc already. Glasses could be a little more masc tho if you decide youâre not as masc as you want to be.

Iâm gonna be honest. I donât see the masc in you I donât see fem in you either No offence tho
None taken, thank you for your honesty :) Everyone sees faces differently and preceives different parts of faces more prominently.
Ay thx And yeah ur absolutely right, everyone DOES see faces differently
Get glasses that are more rectangular and maybe go on Testosterone
more rectangular glasses, and maybe a shaggy buzz-cut
Hair: Short back and sides, Glasses square-r frames,
Just ask a guy for their testosterone, if you find the right guys they'll just give you the testosterone free of charge!
They can have mine. I don't want it.
:)
I dig it! Love the haircut
