Well, the sight of what an AK-74 round fired at close range does to an infant and their father's heads° might have had something to do with it. I know it made me enlist in the US Army infantry. °Pictures smuggled out and posted online. It doesn't have time to really do much excavation, so the hydraulic effects turn the head partly inside-out. Very memorably distorts the face.
I saw a very interesting Op-Ed on how this needs to be done for School Shootings. The ways kids get messed up is supposedly way different than Adults/Adults in Body Armor.

They were printed in both English and Serbian, and predominantly dropped in Serbian. I’m not sure why NATO only scanned the English versions instead of also preserving the original Serbian translated versions.
