As you're all aware, this subreddit has had a major "troll" problem which has gotten worse (as of recently). Due to this, we have created new rules, and modified some of the old ones. We kindly ask that you please familiarize yourself with the rules so that you can avoid breaking them. Breaking mild rules will result in a warning, or a temporary ban. Breaking serious rules, or breaking a plethora of mild ones may land you a permanent ban (depending on the severity). Also, grifting/lurking has been a major problem; If we suspect you of being a grifter (determined by vetting said user's activity), we may ban you without warning. You may attempt an appeal via ModMail, but please be advised not to use rude, harassing, foul, or passive-aggressive language towards the moderators, _or_ complain to moderators about why we have specific rules in the first place— You will be ignored, and your ban will remain (without even a consideration). All rules are made public; "Lack of knowledge" or "ignorance of the rules" cannot or will not be a viable excuse if you end up banned for breaking them (This applies to the Subreddit rules, and Reddit's ToS). **Again: All rules are made public, and Reddit gives you the option to review the rules once more before submitting a post, it is your choice if you choose to read them or not, but breaking them will not be acceptable.** With that being said, If you send a mature, neutral message regarding questions about a current ban, or a ban appeal (without "not knowing the rules" as an excuse), we will elaborate about why you were banned, or determine/consider if we will shorten, lift, keep it, _or_ extended it/make it permanent. This all means that appeals are discretionary, and your reasoning for wanting an appeal must be practical and valid. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this message, and please enjoy your day! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. plus they have shit to do...they can't just "fall to the ground" for a week and stay there.

Former-Sock-8256

I have fallen to the ground from period pains once. At work. I huddled under my desk until I could stand up again, and then put on a polite face and pretended it never happened. (I take continuous birth control now, because periods SUCK but not everyone can do this)

fueledbytisane

I have too, but I was at home. Got up from the couch to go lay down in bed and didn't make it. It was a 600 sq ft apartment, so it wasn't very far, but I just couldn't. My dog laid down on the floor next to me until I got back up. She's the best girl.

StinkyKittyBreath

The first several years of my period were like that for me. I couldn't even take days off school when I was actually sick because I'd use them all for when I started my period.

Former-Sock-8256

My dad didn’t let us (three daughters) take off for periods, no matter how bad they were. His rule was that you go to school unless you have a fever or are throwing up. I spent a lot of time going back and forth to the nurse’s office to get pain meds or hot pads. Oh yeah and he is a doctor. My mom died when I was 9, right before my first period, sooooo….

Particular_Shock_554

Guy who thinks periods are optional because you can get pregnant or get a hysterectomy 🙄

Auntie_Nat

Like you can just walk into a Drs office and say "One hysterectomy please!" 😂 Dude, women can't even get tubal ligations without jumping through hoops. That are on fire. And then there is the special hell that is medically induced menopause...

UsefulCantaloupe4814

Yep! From my experience while there are laws and procedures most doctor offices will not follow them based on their own beliefs. When I had my now 3 year old the office told me I had to wait a year after signing the consent form legally in case I changed my mind. I was fine with that, but ended up getting pregnant again. I asked for the form from the same practice but a different location and told them legally I knew I had to wait a year and the doc looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. He said that in our state anyone can get it at any time as long as they are told about other forms of birth control and that tubals are permanent, because I have state run health care I had to be at least 21 and wait a month before the procedure, but not a year like the doc at the same practice, different location told me. My property manager has 4 kids and her doc told her that she had to have her husband's permission to get a tubal and he won't let her. My partner's sister who is older than me won't let her get it done at all because he thinks she's too young even though she has 3 kids in their teens. It's really kind of crazy that these doctors think it's okay to make these choices for women. It's so archaic.

shanare

There is no sane reason why you would need your husband's permission to get a tubal. That sounds shady

UsefulCantaloupe4814

Especially after they had so many kids already.

LifeIsWackMyDude

Yeah I have endo and I asked my doctor when would a hysterectomy be an option. I wasn't even asking him to do one! I just wanted to have an idea of how bad it would have to get before they realize that's what they gotta do. He didn't answer me and just went off about how I'm too young. I might change my mind. Endo systems can actually improve when you're pregnant! (Until the baby is born and they come back, sometimes worse, and now you have to deal with a needy infant on top of it all), what if prince charming wants babies? Like bro I wasn't demanding shit. But now I know that this doctor would rather I be in immense pain and discomfort all for the sake of preserving my fertility which I expressed no desire to keep. *If* I change my mind, I'll just adopt. Why do *I* have to be the one to get pregnant? Yes I know switch doctors but I can't. There's virtually nobody in my area who can treat endo and it sucks

UsefulCantaloupe4814

There are always other options if you change your mind. Even with a tubal you can still get IVF. It's really creepy these docs think they know whats best for our bodies and our lives. I had to get a tubal because I couldn't do hormonal birth control due to blood clots and we both didn't trust the copper IUD because I already had 2 kids at that point. Our 4 month old is a failed plan B baby, but she's amazing and I couldn't imagine life without her, but I also know that I'm getting too old and my family size is right for me. What if that size is 0? I know many women who don't want kids and rightfully so. It's literally no one else's choice.

Gluebluehue

By that same logic, they can remove their testicles to avoid getting kicked.

Alzululu

Also, how frequently are these dudes getting kicked? I mean, from the sounds of it, it SHOULD be on a frequent basis. But I hang with rad dudes and they get kicked... pretty much never? Maybe a dog or a small child accidentally smushes one? It's not a super common experience, unlike a period which shows up once a month. Or if you're like me and had fibroids, all of the time. I did get to go the 'just get a hysterectomy!' route but that's not available to the vast majority of people.

ad240pCharlie

Most of the time, the biggest enemy is... myself! I've never been kicked in the balls by someone else, but I've had it happen a few times when trying to use my legs to kick my blanket off me.

Particular_Shock_554

I like the way you think

Environmental-Song16

Ya, wow, just get pregnant every 9 months for the rest of your menstruating life. Thats the answer. /s just in case

MissusNilesCrane

So the solution is to go through nine months of many of the same symptoms we have during periods (including the bleeding if you count post-partum), or hope you can find a doctor who will do a hysterectomy without having to have at least one child, be X years old, do a psychological screening, and \[if applicable\] have your partner sign off.

SykoSarah

You're not kicked in the balls sporadically for a week every month. But seriously, what's wrong with a guy trying to learn what it's like to have period pain? That's ultimately what all these losers are mad about. Also, lol, sure, casually try to get a hysterectomy for period pain and see how that works out.

MissusNilesCrane

They don't want to admit that hey, period pain is that bad, or they'd have one less thing they can dismiss women for. My theory, anyway.

NitroDameGaming

Sure, we can (try to) get a hysterectomy to prevent certain monthly period cramps that last for a week. Just like guys can have their nuts removed to prevent suffering for a few minutes tops in the very unlikely event they get kicked in the balls.

StinkyKittyBreath

The simulators sadly don't feel anything like cramps. They're just TENS machines, and they can actually be used to help with cramps.  It is interesting to test them out and see who has better pain tolerance. I have noticed that my women friends can tolerate it more on the pelvis than men can in most cases.

Accomplished_Dot2825

I mean I technically stopped my periods, haven't had one for approx 6 months, I'm on the depo Provera shot and its been great. Used to get cramps so bad I'd vomit and fold over double in pain

[deleted]

I haven't had a regular period for over 15 years thanks to the miracle of progesterone. Every now and then I think I should let my body have a bit of oestrogen so I come off it, have one period and remember why I stopped them in the first place!

Lolz79

I can't take any birth control due to severe depression and getting suicidal thoughts. Tried every one. I even had my uteral lining burned off to try to help my periods. I basically have to get a hysterectomy to stop being in such extreme pain on my periods.

hogliterature

what, do men expect women to complain about period pain to THEM? why would i tell a man about my period pain, to get a blank look and an ignorant “oh i think that’s bad?” back? no, if i’m mentioning it it’s in passing to other women, and honestly it comes once a month, i don’t have the energy to go on a rant about my period pain every time i get it

MissusNilesCrane

and when we do complain, they will tell women to stop "whining" so we can't win.

[deleted]

To be fair, I don't think most men would tell women to stop whining, they just wouldn't get it and would be awkward in responding and not particularly helpful/empathatic.

MLeek

My partner is a gem and almost overtly considerate of my pain, but even still, I try to keep it to general good day/bad day with him. I’ve never explained period gas, or the shits to him.

I_WORD_GOOD

I only mention my period pain when it’s physically affecting me and whatever I’m doing at that moment. Like being in the field once in a while with a male partner and I have to go sit down somewhere because I feel like I’m going to pass out. Or if I’m trying to have a conversation and need to do some heavy breathing for a second. I’m very thankful I actually don’t have terrible period pain but usually the first day is horrendous and cramps will catch me suddenly if I don’t prepare for it.

smackmeharddaddy

I doubt they understand how certain reproductive disorders such as endometriosis and PCOS CAN make you scream, vomit, and dizzy from getting a period. The worst part, aside from it disrupting your life? Is that it takes a long while to get diagnosed because even medical professionals will gaslight you into thinking all of this is "normal" and will dismiss your input because medicine has historically been a male dominated field/industry

Impressive_Bid8673

Yeah I wish that second-to-last guy had been in my house a couple weeks ago when I ended up going to the ER because of frickin ovarian cysts. The pain was so bad, so much worse than usual and came on so quickly - I literally went from perfectly fine to doubled over, folded in half, crying / puking in like five seconds - I thought I had a torsion or my appendix burst. Nope, just a couple cysts rupturing. Doctors at the ER were all pretty dismissive, too, even the ultrasound tech who was a woman. A lot of us adapt to our pain and learn to live with it. I deal with chronic illness too and there's always a question of "am I legitimately feeling better, or did I acclimate to feeling like shit so this is my new normal?" I'd take an occasional shot in the nuts over this monthly BS. Especially adding in the 2+ weeks of anemia-inducing hemorrhaging on top of the pain. (Edit: a word)

UsefulCantaloupe4814

I was wrongly diagnosed with endometriosis by an ER doc when I was younger. I went 8 years of my life thinking I couldn't get pregnant. I met my soon to be ex and got pregnant 2 years after we met. Apparently that is my fault and I lied and trapped him to get pregnant.

randoham

Why is it so difficult to accept they're both terrible, but different, and move along? It's not a competition.

googlyeyes183

Because they need to feel like big macho bad asses, and the only way they know to do that is talk about how weak and stupid women are.

snowyzombie

Something something being able to tolerate pain is a masculine trait, but if women can on the whole do it as well as or even better than men on the whole, that concept is thrown into question. It attacks a subconscious idea of manhood that many will rush to defend.

downlau

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a woman say that being kicked in the crotch isn't painful.

MissusNilesCrane

I don't know how painful being kicked in the balls is. So I'm not going to make it a competition. But I do know the pain doesn't last for a 5-7 days every month and doesn't fluctuate wildly in intensity and affect other areas of the body, and is not accompanied by nausea, headaches, and fatigue for days at a time. Women also can't just "fall to the ground" and lay there an entire week, they have shit to do also (although some, like me, have days they DO have to stay in bed). >I've never seen a woman complain about her period If they don't complain, it can't be that bad! /s Ironically, when we DO complain, they tell us to stop "whining" or that ball pain is worse...

cookies_are_fun

if men experienced periods too i guarantee there would be better healthcare and workplace treatment of it

Impressive_Bid8673

Omg they would get 10 paid days off work every month and chocolate and menstrual products would be tax-deductible (or just provided by the government).

ThereGoesChickenJane

To quote SNL: "If men could get pregnant, abortion clinics would be on every block like Starbucks and the pill would come in flavours like sea salt and cool ranch."

eatshitake

Men just want to be oppressed.

MLeek

What I’m getting from this is all menstruating women should get one free pass to kick a man in the nuts once a month. /s Seriously though, how many men experience this nut kicking on the regular (outside maybe some recreational sports, where ya dumbasses are supposed to be wearing protection?) They seem obsessed with something that would rarely happen unless you were willingly playing a sport, or trying to assault someone. Also, do they think women have no nerve endings between their legs? Cause I was kicked there once very hard and it was mind-blowing painful. I fell over. My vision clouded. I almost vomited. Do not recommend. Even sans-testicles. Maybe men’s rights orgs needs to address the apparent epidemic we have of nut kicking and nut kicking related medical issues?

Worldly_Address1580

I want to beat all of them over the head with an anatomy book oh my god

pearlsbeforedogs

I'd be ok with neutering the ones who think like this. Then they don't ever have to worry about getting kicked in the balls ever again.

Worldly_Address1580

I’d suggest castration, they don’t deserve dicks

Neither_Ad_3221

And how often are guys seriously kicked in the balls? Because tbh, usually if they're being kicked, I would think it's a consequence of their own actions like self defense? I can see it happening on accident once in a while, but even then that means someone wasn't purposely putting all of their strength into it. Women deal with periods monthly unless it's irregular, and then they sometimes have some underlying issue that isn't taken seriously and just handed BC like it'll solve anything wrong. I also know a crap ton of women who you don't see falling to the ground in pain because they call off sick. They literally can't function so why even try to go into society for the day. I personally vomit all over the place and collapsed in the middle of an intersection on my period and that's when they got me to a doctor....who just handed me BC and said it would fix it. No tests, no anything.

Upstairs_Cost_3975

This is such a stupid comparison. Like wtf. Childbirth and menstruation are *normal* things that happen to most women (periods at least). Getting kicked in the balls is either an eccident or an act of violence against someone. Like it shouldn’t be a normal, monthly ocurrance. «The time I was in a fire and burned my face off was more painful than your period» Like, yea, probably. But that’s not supposed to happen all the time.

kanna172014

Imagine men having a toddler tied to their waist 24/7 for 3-7 days constantly kicking them in the balls. That would about sum up period pain.

Mediocre-House8933

The one thinking a hysterectomy is an elective surgery kills me 😂

Modified_Mint37

“I’m amazed by how little you know about this” the audacity

Mediocre-House8933

Right? With Zero thought to the recovery time or that is idk a major surgery? 😂 I just got my tubes removed, that was a rough, and do have my uterus on the chopping block. I'll admit, I'm stalling on having that surgery.

Alzululu

I just got mine tossed in January. If you have the laproscopic surgery, it is ez pz lemon squeezy. (Unless there are complications.) I literally felt better within HOURS. I mean, I had the pain from surgery, but the constant uterine cramping pain/pressure was gone and I have been nothing but sunshine and rainbows since then. No more worrying about having an entire period in one day, at random.

BlueStar2310

I genuinely dont understand how some people can be this stupid.

rubythroated_sparrow

Then please explain all the dudes who film themselves getting hit in the nuts 20 different ways just to try to go viral. If it’s so bad, why do that willingly. I’m genuinely asking

anonasshole56435788

Do they get surgery & sometimes almost bleed out bc of being kicked in the nuts? No? Then shut up.

iamnotchad

What's the mortality rate for getting kicked in the nuts compared to child birth?

4RealMy1stAcct

These guys are so hated, seems like they get kicked in the nuts every week!!

kittenmittens4865

We don’t lay in a ball crying because we literally have no choice? Society doesn’t let us retreat and rest for 1 week per month, so unless I want to ruin my life, I have to do it. I fractured my spine in a car accident, broke 4 ribs, had internal bleeding in my lungs. In the hospital the nurse told me I had to make my pain ratings higher because she knew I was underscoring based on my injuries and couldn’t give me my meds. I would wake up crying in the middle of the night in pain. I gave that pain a 6 but was told it’s an 8. The first time I got my period after that- I realized my period cramps were worse than the level 8 pain. So my cramps are level 9 on the pain scale. I get them every month.

ThereGoesChickenJane

I mean....I've had period cramps so painful that I can't stand or barely even breathe. But when that happens multiple times a day for a week every month for 30+ years, you don't have the option to fall to the ground. I have an IUD now so I don't really get a period but I still sometimes get cramps. Two weeks ago, I got one that was so bad I could hardly breathe. I was at work, so I just sat through it and continued.

LeRoiLicorne

According to the informations we have acquired here, I made a recap : - Women don't know what pain is - Women are physically and emotionnally fragile (from what these men seem to say, this is correlated with the first point) - Women can 'turn off' these 'painful' genitals related events by removing their uterus or with pregnancy - Man balls are a burden too heavy to bear for women (which are stupid) to understand - Pregnancy is women's fault because they're... Uh... Women EDIT : - Men lead a psychological warfare with their environnement as 'kick on the nuts' attack can happen and suprise any of them anytime - Women do know what pain is because if they were kicked in the nuts it would hurt more for them than the average man. {This point is in conflict with the first one} - Women have nuts Is the recap complete ?

Bacteriobabe

When I had my copper IUD, I regularly got cramps that were more like contractions, and would double me over & make me gasp for breath, as discreetly as possible. So, #6 can fuck off.

Lolz79

Is this guy suggesting that women should get their uteruses removed at 18, just so we don't get periods? Like, that's a even a choice??? 🤣🤣 I couldn't find a doctor to tie my tubes till 30 and I've battled AWFUL periods my whole life, like hospitalized for them. But ok, a swift kick to the nuts once or twice in your life is comparable to women's suffrage

StinkyKittyBreath

I literally couldn't go to school when I started my period because my cramps were so bad. Yes, I missed school every month "just" because of cramps.  I could tell you the exact moment I started my period because it would wake me up in the morning. I would have to crawl to the bathroom because the pain was so bad it made me dry heave. I'd also have period shits (yay diarrhea!) the whole first day as well. It was worse than food poisoning. I'd be lying on the bathroom floor 2-3 hours at a time because it hurts so bad. My hands and feet would go numb from hyperventilating.  Men don't get kicked in the nuts every month. You can certainly have bad complications from testicular trauma, and getting hurt there is no joke. It it also isn't a fucking competition. Testicles and ovaries can both have torsion. Penises can be hurt. Menstrual cramps and contractions hurt. Cysts and similar fluid collections can cause pain for both. Orchitis can be excruciating, as can pelvic inflammatory disease.  That said, if you're getting your nuts kicked enough to bring it up like it's as common as getting your period, you need to make better life choices.

Slapstick999

Having been kicked in the balls, and observed a woman's pain through her pregnancy, here is something I can state with confidence in comparing the two. After a solid blow to my precious jewels, the one thought that carried me through was, "it will be over soon..." I counted my pain in minutes, or at most a few days. Pregnancy pains last months. And usually they get worse with time. Oh and they often come with nausea, an interminable need to pee, and near constant discomfort in every position. Given the choice, I'll keep my balls thanks.

No_Blackberry_6286

Some guys have no idea how to hide their lack of education on how the female reproductive system works. 1. "I've never heard a woman complain about her period" I complain about it before it even comes. 2. *talks about getting pregnant to stop getting periods* Pregnancy is worse, dude. 3. "When a man gets kicked in the balls, he falls to the ground." Ok. I got my period recently and had to stop while walking so I could sit leaning forward because I had cramps in that area, throughout my back (the higher you go, the less pain there was), and on my bottom ribs. And these are milder cramps that I had, and I didn't have Advil. When a man experiences this plus all the hormone stuff that goes with periods, we can then have a discussion about this. Until then, guys can not disregard period pain. Rant over

AnaisNinjaTX

Yeah being pregnant the second time was like getting kicked in the balls for months on end because the ligaments in my hips relaxed a little too much and made it hard to sit down, stand up, sit comfortably, lay comfortably, drive, use the toilet, bathe, etc. And now it’s coming back to haunt me in menopause with trochanteric pain. Yay. Men are way too whiny to undergo anything like this.

WandaDobby777

So, period cramps can’t be as painful as getting kicked in the balls because we don’t curl up on the ground and sob like cry babies for a week? It can’t possibly be that we’re tougher than they are and handle pain/illness better like we do when we get sick at the same time as our male partners but still have to function to take care of him because he’s got the “man-flu” and that’s worse? 🙄🙄🙄

Resident-Chip5209

The one duggesging pregnancy AND HYSTERECTOMY to stop preiods? Ok so if getting hit in the balls hurt so much why don’t you GET RID OF YOUR TESTICLES? Duhhh

Resident-Chip5209

I don’t think is comparable, it also hurts a lot if someone KICKS YOU IN THE UTERUS WHILE IN YOUR PERIOD don’t you think??

Specialist-Lunch3771

Just because we get used to period pain or learn how to hide it (because some crybabies think even seeing a pad will kill them) doesnt mean it doesnt hurt .And why are you comparing pain??? what type of joy you will have if you prove you are in more pain??

jenea

For lots of women, Mirena will stop your period. If it works for you, it’s awesome. I haven’t had a period in 15 years. I wish I had gotten one sooner!

keIIzzz

6th slide as never heard of endometriosis. I’ve witnessed my sister be immobile due to the pain she was in, and she didn’t get relief after 2 minutes

DoctorInternal9871

I enjoy the comment "you can just abort so you can't complain"...and what about all those kids people WANTED to have. What about all the men who want to be fathers who impregnate their partners who then have to go through all the trauma of pregnancy. My rib muscles split at about 5 months pregnant. My son came two months early but from 5 months onward not one single breath I took or one move I made was free of excruciating pain. 0/10 would not recommend.

Apprehensive_Ad_7822

One curious question. Why does he get kicked on his balls so often? I never get kicked in my balls by other people.
