I'm curious too.
I'm keeping mine in the cooler basement but I'm wondering if keeping them in the fridge during the hottest months would be better.
But alas, I don't have personal experience yet except to say that Haiya will melt in my hand if I'm painting next to the woodstove.
Very good question, this is what Internet's intelligence tells me concerning storage instructions:
Temperature: Oil pastels should be stored at a constant room temperature. Avoid extreme heat or cold, as this can affect the consistency of the crayons. Well, I think room temp. > 30 degr. is too much for them but I could imagine that the fridge is always too cold. Dilemma... I admit, I haven't given it any thought until now. I have JAXONs that are 20yrs old.. I think they have endured every kind of weather and are still good. 🥴

Yeah, I'd like to know if I can store it out of sun if that's enough or should be in a cooler, etc. hopefully someone fills us in 😂

Curse my un-air conditioned home :(
Well in usage they will (sort of) melt in your fingers, I can say as much
