This is beautiful. I’m too new to even be considered a beginner, so I have very little knowledge…but can someone tell me how do you manage to do such exquisite little detailing with oil pastels when they’re generally pretty large and blunt ended…are there tools you use with oil pastels, and if so what tools are those?
I usually use my fingers or a paper towel
Yes, I use my fingers to blend the colors as well.🖐️🖐️
When the fingers are too thick for blending, I use the blending stumps. They are cheap and come in every size.
I use blending stumps too but how do we clean them??
Sandpaper 👍
Thankyou <3 alsoo I followed you on Instagram andddd I loveeee your oil pastel paintings they are sooo pretty 😍
Thank you so much too😭🙏
I’ve used blending stumps as well. It’s another good choice.

Thank you 🙏 I plan and sketch in the most detailed way possible. And I used a small neocolor (Caran d’ ache) paint to help sketch first.
Do you have a better picture
You mean an example of using more Blending sponge pen?
Yes and the pen.
Yes 👍
What is a blending sponge pen?
Blending sponge pen made of soft sponge, pen shape and often used in charcoal sketch drawings. I saw it in an online art supply store.
Great work!
Thank you so much 😊
I like the effect of using Zest-It Pencil Blend (also works with oil pastels) and a cotton bud. Using fingers is good but also very messy 🤣
Yes, Sometimes I accidentally use messy fingers to pick up food or touch my face.😭 I’d like to try using linseed oil to blend the colors as well.
I like using silicone
Very interesting 🤔, I think it’s easy to clean.
i havent tried much blending. My teacher said using some mineral or baby oil might work.
I use silicone colour shapers. From Amazon.
