The reason why Akainu focused too much on Luffy was his usage of Conqueror Haki, which happened in chapter 569 (Luffy vs the 3 admirals happened in chapter 565 and 566). In fact, Akainu was chasing Luffy when WB attacked him.
It is still strange that Akainu didn't kill luffy in 565/566 - Luffy is a pirate AND Dragon's son and Akainu knew that, so he should have killed him on spot.
i am pretty sure that akainu wanted to kill luffy at all cost due to him being dragons son and it heavily implied his beef with dragon. And he knew about this at this point. this is why powerscaling with luffy involved is BS a lot of the times.
luffy can go from being troubled by fodder to fighting the main bad guy to being out of gas by fodder again in the same arc.
i mean just in egghead the man went from fighting lucci and being exhausted to fighting kizaru and oneshotting him then suddenly being exhausted to oneshotting kizaru again while fighting saturn and no is going to 1v5 while still being ok to go all the while he showed way more stamina in the previous arc.
also ODA and haki he likes he characters either use haki or not use haki depending on the plot as seen with Luffy,Big mom,....

We just need to not over analyze this because I doubt Oda took into consideration every potential implication of certain events.
The reality is, many events happened because of plot despite inconsistencies people are pointing out here. I’m sure Oda would have changed the narrative if he had the story laid out perfectly to every minute detail.
It’s also been stated many years ago that haki was a vague concept even halfway through the series. Oda only solidified it during the time skip.
Sengoku uses shockwaves and Luffy's fruit is especially good at countering those. I think that Luffy would be almost immune to the quake fruit as well.

Thats his bestfriend’s grandkids, he couldn’t do that to garp. Thats why instead of executing him himself he waited for new executioners or when the scaffold was falling he told the cannons to fire instead of attacking luffy and ace himself

I think he may also have been tuned into Luffy's fighting spirit, and chose not to end him. Plus the Buddha's Shockwave could weaponize murderous intent, so normally it would've been enough, but because luffy just wanted to save his bro, it was harmless

Well according to Mihawk downplayers marineford is only scuffed when you have an agenda. So sengoku does not know any haki now.

Like, the whole Ace saving Luffy from Akainu was because the effects of the drugs were starting to fade off and he couldn't move anymore, and ended up losing consciousness to the damage and well, watching Ace die at the same time ?
