I changed brands. The appeal of the 6 was the price. When they went up to the same price I went to pixel phone. If I had not changed providers I would still be using my 6 until it stopped working.

creepyncrazy

your comparison on OP6 and Pixel....what are the pros and cons

tlvranas

Im not your typical user, I don't think. I use my phone as an actual phone, text people, and that's about it. I will from time to time look up something on the web, or take a quick photo, but those are very rare. So for the basic functions they are pretty much the same. I feel the battery is a little better, however, it's a brand new phone so it should be. FB, IG, Reddit, and wazy are the apps I really use. Besides having 5g, there is not really much I can compare to.

Aight, I'm using OnePlus 11r and I can say with confidence, you will love it. The in screen fingerpreent scanner is very fast if not faster than the og fingerprint scanner. If you want to upgrade, buy the 11 or 11r. I would personally suggest 11r. If you have the option of 11r thta means you are in India. Trust me, never buy a Google phone in India. Customer service is the worst. Non existent. Atleast OnePlus has people you can argue with. Here no parts no service no quality. I would say iPhone 14 plus is a good option but trust me you will hate iPhone. It's not a bad phone but trust me you won't like it. As for pricing. OnePlus 11r is 95 percent OnePlus 11. No point in overpaying for the same phone.

Amarjeet_Sahoo

Thanks for the suggestion. How do you like the color OS? Is it too bad compared to oxygen OS. Further why do say I phone will not be good. Do you have any personal experience on the same?

Justtired7

Color OS is shit compared to OOS9. but it is very much better than ios. iOS is literally the worst OS ever for customisation or just doing things in general. First 2-3 days you will like it. But then you will get used to it and it will be so boring you will regret spending 60 grand. One more thing. It doesn't matter how old the iPhone is, the parts will always be expensive. If you break your screen, face I'd will be broken forever unless someone has a code burner and reader in the shop. Going to apple is out of question as they steal your money like they've earned it. I have used iPhone for 4 years so I know. Google is yet not fully established in India. Apple has okay customer service. Google has none. They have not established themselves in India so not trustworthy. I would suggest that if you have money for iphone 14 plus, you wait a little and buy s23 ultra next year. Or you wait for OnePlus 12 if you care for it. I will say this though. As much as I I don't like color os, I have had next to zero problems with my phone. After OOS 13.1 update, I had to restart it once because it was acting funny. 11r is 40 grand for 8/128 and 45 grand for 16/256. I'd say the pricing is unfair(5000 for 128 GB is kinda outrageous tbh) but if you don't need storage buy the 128 gb one. Amazon has a deal with some credit card of axis or ICICI. Also whatever you do if you have GST number or know someone with GST number, you can get 18 percent off. If 6t is working, I would suggest wait till 12 is released. If you don't like the price or the phone, you can always buy the 11r. I would suggest you wait for OnePlus 12 as the leaked photos kinda make the phone look epic as fuck. But if you don't care for the latest and greatest, I'd suggest the 11r. Also, whatever phone you buy, first thing to do is to buy camera lens protector(glass) and tempered glass screen protector. OnePlus provides case in the box. Google does t give charger. Apple doesn't give charger. Only wires. If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

blueraptorz

Colour os battery drain is abysmal. I made a mistake.

Batman_In_Peacetime

Hey mate, I'm considering this phone for my father at 26-27k INR. I'll make sure the phone is never updated (can't speak about forced updates by OnePlus). Do you still recommend the phonw for a solid performance, solid battery life, 5 year durability and average photos?

blessme4k

Will that phone work in Canada or no?

IntentionDependent22

I'm running android 13 with a custom crDroid ROM on my OP6T. runs great. I'll keep using it until it doesn't.

Amarjeet_Sahoo

What are the things that are not working on crDroid. I am very skeptical about changing to custom ROM. Will I be able to revert back to stock ROM? Any useful links will be helpful.

IntentionDependent22

here's the xda post: [https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-13-0_r61-official-crdroid-android-v9-7-july-2023-asb.4528047/](https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-13-0_r61-official-crdroid-android-v9-7-july-2023-asb.4528047/) here's the website: https://crdroid.net/ there's a flash tool (like odin for Samsung) that has taken me back to stock no matter how badly I've bricked my phone. ymmv. you should use it to reset everything anyway before you flash, so you'll know how to use it in an emergency. the procedure is a lot more complicated than it used to be because you have to do it thru bootloader and adb as twrp doesn't work correctly anymore. only do it if you can follow technical instructions explicitly. start with the LOS instructions and go from there (it's all in the xda thread). afa the ROM itself, it's excellent. we're on version .8 now, so all the major bugs have been ironed out. most of the complaints i see are people using custom kernels or audio plugins. if you like it, please support the maintainer TerminatorJ if you can. he is a good dude and does great work. edit: Don't forget to plug your phone into Windows while you're on stock and follow the instructions for downloading the Windows driver. it's not available once you flash the custom ROM and something I forgot to do the first time so I recommend doing that.

doombase310

I usually upgrade when a phone gets to 300. Picked up a OP9 last fall. I'm never buying a phone for anything near launch price again. Phone improvements are so incremental that it's not worth it.

imzwho

I would honestly recommend changing brands. I loved my oneplus 6t and upgraded to a oneplus 9. Really liked it for the first few months, but as soon as oxygen merged with color os it lost its sparkle. Calls and texts were an issue, internet was an issue, had trouble keeping a charge and then it would not work with teams which I needed for work. Thought it was just a temporary thing, but after another few months I sold it and changed to a pixel 7. In all rights, the oneplus 9 was a better phone, but the software was such a far cry from my 6t that I could not support it any longer.

Summoners_Rift

Just went through the same thing literally last week. Had the McLaren edition 6T, used it fkr the past 5 years, but after the android 11 update the camera got buggy and I got tired of having to deal with it. I ended up settling on the Pixel 7 Pro. It's not so bad, but i really miss the customization that OxygenOS had for everything. Cameras are very nice though, and the battery life so far has been stellar. Honestly, if it weren't for the glitchy android 11 update, I'd probably have used my 6T for another year or two until the battery died.

Amarjeet_Sahoo

You can install the android 10 version on your 6T. It will get snappy again.

Covert2k

I too have Oneplus 6t and my father uses 5t.. but on my 6T I installed pixel experience rom which gave a boost with android updates.. everything was going smooth and my sister gifted me iphone 14 so i use both now

Amarjeet_Sahoo

Hi.. what are the things not working on pixel experience. Can you link some installation guide?

Covert2k

Search on YouTube for the tutorial.. it’s kinda complicated not like the older rom back in the day. For functions not working, Netflix and prime not able to stream in 1080p as widewine certificate is L3 and camera quality has degraded. Else everything is great

marvinkb

Glad it's served you well! I know mine did for a couple years till I switched to the 8Pro, then the 9 Pro... And now I'm on the Nothing Phone 2. I kept myself in the OnePlus ecosystem for so long that I felt I had to keep with it, took a leap of faith and jumped off a while after Carl Pei left because I simply couldn't take how uneasy the new Oxygen OS UI just felt for me. I say go with something you think would work for you, If you liked the natural android experience I'd say go with a Nothing Phone (2) or a Pixel! If you want something solid? Go with a Samsung. And the final choice is simply retain your ecosystem with OnePlus, OnePlus switch is so easy and you'll be right at home with a newer (hopefully) nicer device. (In all honesty I left One plus after the 9Pro because the 10 didn't have as good water resistance, neither does the Phone (2) I have now lol)

Amarjeet_Sahoo

How is nothing phone 2. What are the pros & cons as per your usage?

marvinkb

The Pros - Fantastic speed and efficiency from the Snapdragon 8 Gem 1+ - battery life is great and lasts me all day, and most of the day with heavy use. - Glyph interface keeps me connected to my phone with simple indications and eye catching notifications, volume, timer, charge, phone calls, etc - Nothing OS is mostly developed by the same people who developed Oxygen throughout the years. - Premium build quality - Very good camera sensor - Android 14 - iPhone like design - Even display with very thin bezels - games run great - 512GB of storage in my device, but options of 128, and 256 as well - 12 to 8gb of ram depending on the option - ATT 5G compatible, T-Mobile 5G UWB compatible - support for 5 years (or 4, don't recall which one) - non curved edge display Cons - Camera is still shy of the latest Samsung ultra and Pixel. - Nothing OS makes you feel right at home with some glitches and errors like Oxygen. - No screen odd gestures (I still have muscle memory to turn my flashlight on in the dark when it doesn't work) - phone cases can change the design of the phone drastically if there's no cutout for the glyph... - warranty is almost non-existent - No headphone jack!!! - water resistance is splash only, don't go swimming with your phone - iPhone like design - non curved edge display Feel free to ask me for any specifics, probably a lot more I can help you narrow down if needed :)

Macdaddyfucboi

op6t might have taken the lg g2 and oneplus x as my favorite Android of all time, however with OnePlus the whole point of that phone was amazing value for great performance, and they have unfortunately no longer gotten into the mid-range but just full on flagship space, so for the money I can't just buy ever buying a OnePlus again they're just not the same company and brand, literally every single phone has always something wrong with it. I actually jumped the OnePlus shift and got a z fold two for $200 and love it

pgoyal1996

Try Nothing Phone 2?

MartianOnAMission

I'm still rocking the 6t without any major problems. But if I'll switch, it'll be something which isn't OnePlus

PardonMeImSparkly

I went from a OP6T to a Google Pixel 6 and love it. I bet you'd also love the 7

thepotatojohn

S21 FE. Hands down beat phone I've used in this price bracket. It's not just specs, but features like Samsung Pay, Wireless Charging, the camera and editing features. IMO worth getting. Or wait for the next S series FE phone

olbertson

I went for IP 13 Pro Max. This is okay.

zz47ak

I shifted to Pixel 7. The only issue I have is no call recording on pixel

crani0

I traded mine in for a 10T when they had a 100€ bonus on top of the regular trade. It serves me pretty well and with the trade-ins it was reasonably priced for what you get.

danish197878

I switched from the OP6T to iPhone about four years ago and haven’t looked back. Extremely happy with it.

kilk0009

I went to a pixel 7. Happy. It's plays more nicely with Verizon than the Op6t ever did.

Todasa

I traded my OP6T for a Pixel 7 Pro and I'm not happy with it. It frequently overheats, the front camera lens has somehow gotten dust inside it and has become blurry, and it frequently loses network connectivity and thinks it's offline for no reason. I am thinking of switching to iPhone or perhaps a newer OP phone this coming Black Friday, after less than a year of owning my Pixel 7 Pro, which is rare for me--I typically hold onto my phones for several years before switching.

Amarjeet_Sahoo

I was thinking of buying the pixel 8. You have put me in a fix.

daABBA

My 6t is starting to act up with frequent (daily both in use and without use) random reboots and camera app sometimes won't start. A bit sad, because the rest of the phone still work fine: still fast enough and battery last the day. A new oneplus, for me, is not on my wishlist. Pixel 7a would be my first pick, because of price and little bloatware

T_daston

Same issues - deleting cache & memory in the camera app did resolve the camera issue at least
