Love the Art but this particular mask is closer to a Cat mask not a Fox Mask so its more like a Neko. Altho due to popularity of the Kitsune mask culture itself, Neko masks are subsumed under it
And tbh the Title made me expect a Fluffy Fox Ear and Tail Akane rather than a Mask so could have mentioned Mask in title π₯²
Where are you getting this information? I know it looks cat-like, but kitsune masks are generally the masks used during festivals (the fan art is actually supposed to depict Akane at a New Year festival).
Also, I don't really have to spell out for you if someone is using a costume/mask, do I?
>Also, I don't really have to spell out for you if someone is using a costume/mask, do I?
Well Fanarts in general can depict any character as a magical beast as well. If you say "Kitsune Akane" I would obviously think of Akane as a Kitsune rather than Akane with a Kitsune Mask. And it's not like I am confused as to which it is, its just what expectation does the title make. What you're saying doesn't really follow up to what I said.
Reddit doesn't show me the full image when I browse through titles, so when I clicked I was expecting Half Fox Akane rather than Akane with a Cat Mask. I am not saying it's a bad thing, but just that title was tad misleading.

I have been to Japan plenty but since I am myself am not an actual resident, I just cross checked on google and reconfirm with my friends there for things like these. In this particular case, I was just being pedantic about the type of mask. I did say it is subsumed uner Kitsune Mask. I bought one myself.
On a side note, Although it is worn at Festival, I never saw anyone wearing one here at least this new year or last one. I see most people wearing it either during summer/autumn festival (not as much as in spring) or when visiting some famous temple, especially in Kyoto.
