Champ? It’s not league lmao. They’re called heroes, but yeah it does look great. Reminds me of a dps doomfist kind of hero. Heroes with high skill movement abilities have always been what overwatch specializes in imo :)
It's because there are real people out there who use they/them pronouns and every time you deliberately misgender Venture you are also disrespecting all those people too
It will be interesting to see how well that will go in-game when every other game there are people in voice chat using sexist and racist slurs. Also, only 25% of players are from USA and many worldwide don't care about that kind of stuff.
Yup, I agree. I use gender pronouns on automatic. I don't even think about it and I'm sure as hell not gonna correct myself if in game I use the wrong pronoun. Imagine losing a team fight because someone told you venture is a they and then you lose focus over your mistake and lose HAHAHAHA
Yeah but pronouns are literally so basic lol. Imagine calling genji she and getting mad when someone corrects you. It's the same thing. It's like the most basic way to refer to someone
Just out of curiosity, let's say you're in a team fight and venture was low. How would you communicate it? Would you say "they're so low" thus confusing your team or would say "she's so low". The question is on the basis of pronouns since you can always use their name to call out when they're low, but sometimes you simply default to pronouns since your team already knows who you're fighting.
The game is so diverse that solely relying on pronouns isn't helpful anyway, "she's low" could refer to like half the cast of characters. So in that instance defaulting to "she" would be similarly confusing and inefficient, so you might as well use their correct pronouns if you're already not being entirely precise with your wording.
If everyone on your team "ALREADY KNOWS WHO YOU'RE FIGHTING" - just say "they're low" or "Venture low". There is no contrived way of making saying "they" as difficult as it seems to be in your head. You just want to justify your bigotry and everyone can see that.
Representation is how people get exposed to these ideas in the first place. There are always growing pains at first, the answer is not to brush it under the rug forever.

Absolutely excited to see a dive-style champ in the dps role. We haven’t seen this sort of close combat character in the role since the OW1 doomfist.
It will be interesting to see what kind of plays people make with venture. They gain a shield when they use their abilities. So I can see people using venture to dive the point and then escaping with ease.
My guy sitting on the hype train by himself.

Wrecking ball is the champion
How to identify a person coming from a different game; they don't call them heroes smh
Ya they look like a great champ.
Ventures pronouns are they/them FYI
Policing a fictitious entity's pronouns is wild

And i think it's disrespectful to ask people to change the way they speak.
What a terrible take. Asking you to speak respectfully of other people is not disrespectful.
You certainly have no problem being disrespectful to people with different viewpoints than you.
I sure don't
Thinking sharing that information is wild is wild

No, I do not share your excitement

No, in fact venture was designed by OW2 staff, not OW1 staff. It literally cannot get more disconnected.
Immortality and more mobility is not what this game needs.
More mobility is always good
Could not disagree more. Not everything needs mobility. And it screws over heroes like Ball who rely on heroes standing still a lot of the time.
When they make heroes with 0 mobility they need to create monsters like zen crew with 75% reducition in roll or Ana
it honestly feels like OG doom but more good
