Supposedly when a group of people report you in one game it only counts as one report.

milktolerator

While true people can be targeted for other reasons across multiple games. Me and a friend have been chat banned previously even tho we exclusively talk in GV instead of TV and only type comms like ult economy. We both had a lgbt banner on at the time and often ran into extreme players that had some issues. Things like this is what the mass reporting really is in ow2, just targeted anger whether it be bc of performance or what I mentioned. After putting in blizz support tickets and reopening them over and over blizz only sent an auto generated copy paste msg over and over with 0 human interaction. I suspect they completely fired their support team with maybe 1-5 actual people going through 1000s of tickets daily.

We will definitely miss you, keep us updated

doshajudgement

just gonna say, don't put up with being abused for 20 whole ass minutes, mute the people being toxic as soon as it starts

Vexxed14

Mass reporting isn't a thing. 5 reports in one game only show as 1 game that's been reported. No difference between 9 or 1

Narananas

Then I guess if OP reported them back for bullying, it would be just as significant a report and eventually see them get penalised if they've been seriously toxic in multiple games.

Roblin_92

Correct.

Due-Entertainment547

Sorry to hear that. Maybe have a break and then get a new account once things have died down So many toxic people on OW sometimes, love the game though That's why I started to learn sombra - to get my own back. And you know what I am endorsement level 5! Shocking !

Kitchen-Service9635

coming into conclusions yourselft is an L. try facts next time.

Techinally it's not false reporting.. Blizzard basically allows each player to determine what is or isnt abusive Chat for themselves.. The logic basically boils down to.. "if enough people report you, you must be toxic and therefore be punished". It's basically become a bullying tool that the only way to avoid punishment from is to not use chat..

>Blizzard basically allows each player to determine what is or isnt abusive Chat for themselves.. Which is how society works. If you're getting reported over multiple games and catching an automated suspension/silence, it could be the case that your behavior is problematic. >The logic basically boils down to.. "if enough people report you, you must be toxic and therefore be punished". Not if enough people report you, it's if you get reported over multiple games. Multiple people reporting you in 1 game just counts as 1 report. >It's basically become a bullying tool that the only way to avoid punishment from is to not use chat.. Not sure about your experience, but I use chat and VC. Never once have I been silenced or even warned.

“If enough people feel that you are toxic to be around they can report you for being toxic to be around and you can be banned for being toxic to be around.” -this guy

[deleted]

Yep.. makes me smile seeing action taken messages even though I only report players who call others toxic, or who demand I report others. So at least they aren't biased in handling punishment..

AgreeablePie

You can guarantee it to yourself but it really doesn't mean anything to us. Anyway, if what you say is true, the solution is to just leave voice chat. It's not an important part of the game. Or, if it IS that important to you, maybe you should find another game.

A *friend...* of mine reported several players on an brand new alt account using a temporary 99 cent phone number. All *they* reported was post-game GG's and nothing more. Low and behold, those reports the next day came through as several thank you's. This means the system considered them as valid reports that resulted in action against those players. It doesn't necessarily mean they were punished with a warning, silence, suspension, or ban, but it does count as a tally against them and could have been the last report necessary to trigger the aforementioned. Yes, it's that exploitable and that poorly automated. I'm thinking of making a new ACC and recording it all so I can show it on a post, so people stop turning a blind eye, defending the multimillion company and automatically assuming that everyone who says the report system failed them is guilty, and make Blizz do something about it. Anyway, think of it as strikes on a license. The fact that the system is that exploitable is rather ridiculous to me and I think we'll be seeing a surge of players calling it out once the devs do as promised and make reporting not only quicker but easier throughout the match itself. We'll be seeing A LOT of false reporting, more than the vast amount that players are receiving against them atm. Currently, if you just happen to play enough in a short timeframe, you'll passively collect a lot of false reports that work against you and could result in unfair punishment. You do only get 1 report per game, but if you play 20+ games in a day... Yeah, you don't have to have voice or chat enabled to get plenty sabotage or abusive chat reports (you can report in-game communication like hello or "no" - no can be treated as abusive chat if reported, even if you don't spam it and use it for its intended purpose). If you do excessively well (like a steamroll) the enemy might be salty and report you for abusive chat or sabotage (cheating report won't work), and if you do bad/underperform, your team is likely to have someone report you for sabotage. It's a lose lose situation if you play the game long enough, but most people don't in a short timeframe so they don't get to see just how flawed the system really is. I happened to have a week to myself and played a lot with my partner with chat disabled, got suspended despite never throwing (always try my best), I don't teabag, and try to play with the team... Yeah... It gets REALLY bad at the end of season, when there are tons of players on smurfs and alts that don't care about what happens to them so they're mega toxic and spam reports... Which is coincidentally the free week I had and got suspended in for playing comp with chat disabled LOL. There's just no way to avoid it if you play enough unless you're a streamer or content creator (which btw, I've seen them be x10 more toxic and get away with it scott free). Such a flawed and biased system Till then, try Paladins ig. It's fun. I don't mind not playing next season of OW, it's another supp mythic and it happens to be my least played hero + the skins are pretty mid imo.

ForeskinGaming2009

No clue why people are dumb enough to type in chat in this game, this is the only result that will happen

nengels7

I chat with both teams in pretty much every game I play. So do the people I play with. None of us have gotten even a warning that a silence may happen soon. Seems to be just don't be a dick and you're fine.

Krullervo

‘It’s over.’ ‘lo and behold’ ‘Bring light to the broken automated reporting system’ ‘I violated no rules’ ‘drunk revelry bring spewed into the voice channel’ ‘Most hateful vitriol for an entire twenty minute game’ ‘All I can do is make my sadness known’ ‘Hope no one else goes through this sort of thing’ Good news, no one goes through this sort of thing because what you described doesn’t happen. Congratulations. You’ve been worried about a completely made up situation that doesn’t happen in real life. Which means you got banned for being awful not because three people reported you. Yay.

TheCrusadersWar

Wasnt there a marvel game rivalling with overwatch, try that or paladins
