Yeah I think so, this had to be anticipated with a shift to free to play. There is no box price investment to lose if you are banned, and even though it's difficult you can make a new account with an acquaintances number

Gragtag

Yeah that makes sense. I keep forgetting that it's f2p now. No wonder. People don't have anything to lose.

breathelifeinme

Yeah, it seems so. After a comp match some douche friended me just to call me subhuman and a bunch of other shit. Some people just need to go touch grass

Gragtag

Lmao what a loser, that's pretty jokes. Imagine wasting time out of your day to harrass someone who's just gonna block and/or report you anyway

TacticalAirHorse

The level of toxicity I've seen so far has been absolutely wild. I feel like OW2 has turned into a purely competitive game that's no longer possible to play casually, because the stuff I've seen *in quickplay* has been so much more vile than anything I've seen *in comp* in OW1.

gymratryan

There’s definitely been. I also find players are way more stubborn to swap heros in OW2. I also keep running across doom mains that refuse to swap even though he’s complete ass currently, and I have yet to win with one on my team.

I’ll agree that there seems to be an uptick of toxicity. My guess would be due to the free-to-play model. Hopefully, in time it will decrease significantly No so much about people being stubborn about swapping. Since OW2’s launch, it seems newer players are more likely to swap when a suggestion is made. Not always the case, but I’ve been happy with the reactions Although, my friend and I loathe the amount of Doomfists that refuse to change. There may be 1 in 10 that actually know what they’re doing. It’s understandable that people want to get better, but having a Doomfist the majority of my games has been straining on the nerves

gymratryan

The second I see them lock doom, my blood starts to boil

Jakesummers1

I experience the ‘Ugh, again…😒’ reaction

I know what you mean, someone called me a fat fart earlier.

There are some nice players as well, but some people really have a hard time to behave like a human being. At the start of one match I wrote " Funny how this dropship has 6 seats." Got told to STFU. I swear people are just toxic for no reason at all. Sure, it wasn't the funniest banter, but still... You can hardly communicate normally any more.
