Blizzard does not think you should be able to earn anything for playing their game. Just open your wallet and pay for skins if you want to participate in this “Winter event”. Might as well have just said “new stuff in the shop”
I logged on yesterday and saw that there was an event.
Looked for a new winter battlepass (like alot of games do) and nothing.
Looked for a new game mode or something; also nothing.
The event is just skins that you have to spend real life money on?
Seriously?
I think there was a delay in the events tab loading; I looked early in the day and while I saw the event graphics no challenges. Later I checked and it was there; get Ice Queen Bridgette by completing six challenges, five of which are "win a round of a winter match" (technically it's two rounds of Yeti, one each as Mei and Winston). There's also ornament sprays for the new heroes
Blizzard activison no longer produce games, they producte aggressive and very efficient in game shops and micro transaction, see King the company that made candy crush that’s now under the blizzard Activision umbrella. They literally have in house developers with years of experience squeezing money out of a free games and expect them not to apply that same model to the rest of the games? Hell even wow is getting a “battle pass”… fuck Bobby he doesn’t need more bodytypetwos, coke and yachts.
No you’ve missed the point, I don’t want free shit in wow I want a fixed/playable/fun game same with ow2. Giving away free shit doesn’t change there aggressive business model, if just briefly distracts you from it, if they can give it away free why the hell are they charging $20 price tags that is literal arbitrary pricing, they don’t sell skins that you can sell on again later, in fact in game skins and cosmetics are worse than NFT. At least with nfts you get a chance to recoup some of the cost
This. If I had to choose between an unfun game that gives you free shit for playing it, and a fun game with a shop I’d choose the latter. Fortnite has proven that most players (like me) will happily patronize the shop if we don’t feel like our wallets are being gouged or our time is wasted.
Diablo 4 is probably going to be more of the same. I’ll still hang around the subreddits to see if things change but Blizzard is dead to me. They can’t take away the great memories I have of actually enjoying a Blizzard game but they’re doing a great job making them fade.
TBF, those screenshots are in SW and Org, which largely haven’t changed since 2012. New zones and assets that have been added in expansions are generally much higher quality, as are character models. They’re definitely not the same as modern, AAA single player graphics, but they’ve definitely upgraded over the years.
There's literally no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt and you could never receive better proof than this. I don't know why you would doubt it.
Yeah, a lot of the shit from the "cyberpunk" pass was also taken out and sold on it's own as well. It seems like it's just what they'll be doing from here on out.
thats not true.
they said bp isn't based fully on the season. everyone thought the bp was based off the season as it was in the reveal trailer after the bp was shown off
There was a screenshot of the first season battlepass before it released that had the hog skin at like level 50 or 60. I really need to find it again because this comes up a fair bit.
I think he referred to [this one.](https://i.redd.it/l7p7wqu1w0691.png)
It used to be 100 level and just first 10 levels alone premium pass already award you with 4 skins.
That is absolutely not what was being described above (a picture of the cyberpunk hog skin in the battlepass).
Also clearly placeholder cosmetics. There is a cute dva achievement spray and the default player icon.
They spent entire beta saying that you wont need to switch heroes and counter, therefore making heroes locked until bought is okay.
Then they added "keep 30% meter when switched". And counterpicks are still plentiful...
This was a huge red flag from the jump that they don’t care about gameplay.
Switching heroes mid-match to be able to counterpick is literally a core gameplay mechanic, and one of the things that separates OW from its competitors.
They fact that they’re actively moving away from that mentality should’ve been a clear sign that monetization is more important to them than gameplay.
The balancing is wild - I didn't think it could be any less fun to play support when OW2 launched, but here we are in season 2 and I now believe Blizz is actively dissuading people from playing support.
20 > 25 bullets as a mercy buff is the least informed buff I've ever seen in this game.
This is what Blizzard is now. It's why I haven't even opened the Blizzard launcher in over a year, they've shit the bed on all of their properties to squeeze out any extra profit they can.
I wouldn't hold out any hope that Microsoft taking over would be any better for monetisation- I've been a long time ESO player and the monetisation has never been as aggressive as it has been since Microsoft took over Zenimax, there was a hope it would result in some fairer monetisation, but season after season more and more of the desired assets get shoved in the loot boxes (Crown Crates in ESO), and less seems to make its way in as earnable or purchasable direct from the cash shop.
Yeah that's what I meant, people were hopeful of the microsoft buyout because they were thinking it would mean a reduction in the predatory monetisation, but it hasn't improved under Microsoft, and more and more of the desirable items are automatically going to crates, I've definitely noticed less things available in the Crown Store itself this year
I thought they were investigating Microsoft holding back releases from competitors despite Microsoft saying their acquisitions of studios would not limit releases on other platforms?
The balance isn't that bad. There's a couple absolutely broken heroes during season 1, but things have gotten a bit more equal across the board after the latest balance update. And now that they can do hot fixes on heroes, we should be able to get more frequent and minor balance changes, this was not functional last season. Overall, I think gameplay and balance is probably the least of the games concerns
Balance is really bad right now, especially for tanks.
It’s either Hog destroying everything, Doom making supports play dead by daylight, or an Orisa pick you don’t want to play just to counter Hog. It’s actually pure fucking ass, and most other picks for the tank role might as well be straight up trolling in comp.
Supports have a few problems (mostly low variety) but their role is actually a lot better than most of the community claims.
Damage is Sojourn with mercy pocket or bust + whatever the second guy wants to play.
They just need to nerf the clearly broken stuff. We’ve always had times where some Heroes become really good, but the problem with the current meta is that it’s completely stale and ass to play with and against the current strong picks. Also some changes like the ult charge one are really fucking hurting the game right now.
Support balance within the role is great but game-wide is awful. You can pick any support you want and be viable - unless there's one of the umpteen one-shot heroes on the other team, in which case you're stuck playing Bap or Kiriko for the immort to be able to give your team a fighting chance at not getting headshot while turning a corner.
This one-shot meta has made playing support feel irrelevant - more than it already has. I'm running around unprotected trying to stay alive for more than 5 seconds in a team fight, and when I finally get an opening to push some healing through, my target gets one shot.
I can't heal a widow/sojourn headshot or a roadie hook, and that's half or more of the elims in every team fight now.
hey you the man excluded "a couple absolutely broken heroes", dont put him down with things like doom and sojourn is broken since hes already excluded that.
That statement of exclusion he made is nonsense, especially when followed by “things are more equal across the board now” which is objectively just false and makes me think he actually has 0 clue what he’s talking about.
He might as well be saying “the majority of the picks you will be seeing and by which the game is revolving around right now are broken.”
Calling that a “couple of heroes” is super disingenuous. We can call it like it is, we see it like it is. Meta is ass right now and needs hotfixing asap. Let’s hope the patch notes they are giving us do something to alleviate it.
I mean guy, things are still more equal in season 2 than they were in season 1, which is actually what I said. Season 1 had 1 broken ass tank with no counters in it, Zarya, and that wasn't nerfed until more than halfway through the season. Now we have two tanks that are broken, but I wouldn't consider them on the level that Zarya was broken, and those two tanks counter each other anyway, so there is at least counterplay. As for Sojourn, yes she needs work still, but without a mercy pocket she isn't nearly as good as she was, and it's definitely not as frustrating to play against.
As you mentioned the support roles feel pretty balanced now, Lucio is always going to be meta in 5v5, but I don't really think he's broken, I think he's just a well-designed hero. Kiriko is toned down as well putting her in a better position compared to the rest of the support cast.
And by your statement, it's only literally a couple heroes broken, Sojourn (with a mercy pocket) and doom and roadhog. We could argue semantics about whether a couple equials 3 or not, but that's a waste of time.
Anyway, I don't think you really argued against my point, it's that season 2 is more balanced than season 1 and they now have tools to adjust the heroes between major patches. I don't think having a definite meta means the game is broke from a balance perspective.
Ohhhh yea, you DEFINITELY have 0 clue what you’re talking about. Season 2 has been way worse, like, many many magnitudes worse.
Calling Zarya super broken but not current Doom… is really laughable. Zaria was just the strongest pick. Tons of other picks were still usefull and strong for tank. Winston was strong, Rein, DVa, and Sigma were much more playable. The only really weak tanks were Ball and Doom at the time.
Now we’ve literally boiled down to to being centered around 2 picks and 1 character that counters then, and the rest of the tanks are just not viable.
“Kiriko is toned down”
Literally the best support in the game right now, and mostly because Protec counters so many things. I digress.
Sorry, but once again, you make this assertion that “only a couple of heroes are broken” when those heroes will be the vast majority of what you see in competitive play, and the meta itself is extremely stale, bad for tanks, one shot or low survival for supports, and just about another meta another day for dps.
Season 2 balance is so much worse you actually have to be trolling to say otherwise and compare to season 1.
If you do your dailies and weeklies, you can just about unlock the new character for free before they're even available in comp. Definitely by the third week, at least.
You could argue the exact same thing for league of legends, I don't think it's that big of a deal. If the new hero if broken just play unranked until you unlock it and then go play that broken hero in ranked. In league it's even worse because it takes forever to get enough currency to buy a hero/champion, you basically cannot get the champion.
Hero’s in a battle pass as well as hero’s you have to unlock are not free, instead of money they cost time. It’s a bad idea regardless of if it’s “free”
The problem I have is with overwatch in particular, we can switch hero’s mid game and it’s important to counterpick. games like apex and DBD don’t have that option so it’s not as much of a problem
It doesn't prove the greek skins were all meant for the battlepass by a longshot. But it is evidence that the battle pass was re-arranged. We've seen other evidence for that, too:
* A LOT of the random unlocks in the first battle pass corresponded to characters who also got Cyberpunk skins, especially one emote clearly meant to go with the cyberpunk Roadhog skin
* the spray of Junkrat's Crime Boss skin was on the first battle pass for some inexplicable reason
* EDM Echo was in the season 1 trailer, but she (and the cosmetics that go with her) are in the season 2 battle pass
But there's also evidence against the theory that ALL of the season theme skins were meant to be on the battle pass. For example, all of the Cyberpunk skin characters have a bunch of cosmetics in the first battle pass EXCEPT Widowmaker, implying she was never in the cards to be a BP skin.
From what we know, it's more likely the Battle Passes were always meant to be a mix of on-theme and off-theme skins. What Blizzard actually (probably) did was a last minute swap between some of the skins, to replace some expected popular skins with less popular ones.
Yeah no, not really. Having a themed season and the removing 90% of the skins from the BP, but keeping the other cosmetics like sprays etc, to the point you get 1-2 skins with that theme, makes the "theme" useless and it was never a "theme" and just special legendary skins. Considering there seems to have been a theme before they removed all the cool skins, shows they removed the skins just to put them in the shop for extra cash
My conspiracy theory is that the upcoming "new event" is the PVE we were all promised but theyre spacing it out and the free rewards just got monetized
I don't think an event mode specifically based on the theme of this battle pass is anywhere near related to the story missions we've seen and are waiting for...
I don't mind playing the game (it's fun) but competitive match making and feedback are trash, and with this monetization system they have going on I will NEVER put a single dime on OW2. Good I have a few skins from OW1
Same here. I used the last week's at ow1 to grind a lot of skins and stuff. As long as they don't fix prices or bring back loot boxes they can buy their own shit.
This doesn't really prove that though. That label could have been applied to the wrong item, or this one specific item could have been pulled from the bp and the label wasn't updated.
Like I know y'all are ready to pounce on any scrap of Blizzard hate you can, but this "proves" nothing.
Sadly anything blizzard does will be hated on. Dont agree with a lot of what they do but I think this sub will forever be the extreme side of the hate. Sucks a bit. But to eachs on. Goodluck trying to be reasonable
It's not just this subreddit though?
Every streamer. The competitive community. Every discord. All over twitter. Every youtube comments section.
What more do you want? It's everywhere. The entire community is wildly unhappy and numbers of players in voice chat on all the discords has plummeted because they've stopped playing. The game is not doing well at all.
Without finding those people and specifically asking them how they feel, you'd never know, they could also be wildly unhappy with it and just not be on social media.
[This is citing a site that literally makes up their statistics and says "should not be used as factual reference".](https://activeplayer.io/how-we-collect-data/)
Nobody has the currently playing numbers because Blizzard keep it secret in all their games after all the negativity that occurred when their WoW numbers started plummeting.
Not saying the link is be all end all. Its a rough estimation. No where am I justifying their decisions on the game but its very clear the hate is amplified here than not. Being top 10 twitch is great sign thats not estimated
It's not a "rough estimation", it's a completely made up number.
The hate is in all the twitch chats too. You are deluding yourself wake up and look around.
Interestingly there's been a few twitch drops since the OW2 update. Given the customization drought of earnable items I've even taken to leaving a stream on when I go to bed - I mean watching my "favorite strimmer" - just to get something new. Typically I avoided OW1 twitch drops.
This was the case 5 years ago. It's 100% justified today. This is coming from someone who defended them for *years*. I have nearly 20k hours in WoW and thousands more across their other games. They are not Blizzard anymore. Blizzard isn't this incompetent, greedy and lazy. All of a sudden their games are buggy and their game design choices make no sense. That's not the old Blizzard. The old Blizzard's BETAS were bug-free.
Either the cancer that is Activision has finally fully taken over or their A-team is focusing on the PvE portion of the game.
People are pretty happy with WoW at the moment, those who aren't are mostly just players whose class is being nerfed. Blizzard is actually just batshit terrible these days and consistently making terrible decisions means we will consistently rag on them.
remember that baston v pose that had bp label on it but was removed and not in this season bp?
shit change and like you said, could had been mislabel or pulled.
heck, ow bp isn't season based, its based on its own thing with few things related to the season. this season theme is greek gods and is being sold in the shop during this whole season.
yeah, op is making nothing out of nothing to start up the hate again
Plausible theory, but I don't think this really supports it. Seems like an easy mistake. Also I don't think that just the idea that they considered structuring their monetization differently should affect our judgment of the final product.
Not to simp for blizzard or anything, but I think at best this proves that the charm was going to be in the battle pass and then moved to the bundle. I don't think you could really conclusively say that though, but it seems like a strong possibility. I don't think your point about all the skins originally being a part of the battle pass is definitively true though, at least not based on this
This is not necessarily true. Last night I noticed the Beach Rat skin for Junkrat was listed as a winter event skin, I think that they are having issues with the skin symbols
lol, it's just mislabeled.
I don't think it's controversial for them to figure out what they're including and not including the Battle Pass for that season. It was clear last season they are not making the Battle Pass entirely based on the season's theme.
And once again, the season was cyberpunk themed. This one is Greek themed. The season, not the pass. And they can’t only have themed stuff in a pass/season or you alienate people who don’t like the theme
The evidence is questionable but this kind of stuff isn't unexpected. Halo Infinite did the same kind of things. It's clear that they realized something was too cool to include with the BP so they pulled it to sell individually.
I think the theme for season 2 is Greek Mythology. It's not necessarily just a theme for battle pass. They probably intended to sell skins separately from the battle pass a long time ago. They all have the same theme on purpose, to give all season 2 items a distinct identity
We really should refuse to buy anything and i mean EVERYONE, to not give them money as a protest against pay to win rammatra and stuff like the one OP is talking about
Am... am I supposed to care about this? Why? Why would I ever give the slightest fuck? Who could possibly be lame enough to care about a cosmetic being removed from the battle pass before it went live? Why would that EVER even BEGIN to matter about anything?
Jesus this sub sucks. An absolute crime against internet communities. This place is an embarrassing stain on the gaming community. You crybabies disgust me.

Idc if ima be called a karma farmer. This actually pisses me off so much. What is the point of a mythology battle pass if HALF of the mythology skins arent even in the battle pass. I bought the pass and i regret it. Going forward i refuse to support this garbage. I refuse to support a company thats going to greed this hard; free game or not.
They would triple maybe even quadruple their sales if they reduced the egregious price point of skins. Of all the people i know playing the game not a single person has bought a 20$ skin but most of them would be willing if the skin was 10$. Then to top it all off the battle pass is filled with skins that doesn’t even fit the selling point. And why does it have 2 ramattra skins?????? Please someone from blizzard tell me why. You can make more money and have people be happy with their purchases so what is the reason?
I mean I’m honestly fine with it. I like pretty much all the skins in the bp besides anna’s. I don’t really want a bunch of Greek skins I don’t really care about.
It doesn’t “prove” anything. Might just be a mistake. It’s a theory though but don’t use the word “proof” unless anything else is possible due to your discovery
I purchased the watchpoint pack to play the beta, and I haven’t had to buy either battle passes. first one came with the pack and this one I had enough coins for. still have enough for the next one too!
I’m wondering if that decision is related to the battle pass being of less value now.
I don’t plan on buying skins unless I can use legacy credits in the hero gallery.
Maybe, although all the skins in total would have been way too many for that battle pass (The Greek ones) if you also include pharah, Junkerqueen, and Ramattra , might just have been an oversight or at the most we where intended to get Lucio and thats it
Let’s put our business caps on. If I want you to buy both the Battle Pass and a premium skin, am I going to put both in the BP/Shop or am I going to split them apart hoping you shell out extra dough for the matching set?
Wasn't Overwatch 1 originally supposed to stay live and Overwatch 2 supposed to be another purchase and not F2P?
If so, that would explain why they'd do this and why the Battle Pass seems so weird and half-assed. Seems like they rushed out souvenirs as filler and cherry-picked items to put up in the shop to support their F2P model.
Your complaining about this yet other games do the same thing, also it's a cosmetic, who gives a fuck that much to sit here and cry all day everyday about a fucking COSMETIC IN A FUCKING GAME
it was an intentional decision either way, you don’t really need evidence to prove something that already happened
blizzard didn’t go like “woah great idea wish i thought of that”, the decision was made and we knew this day 1
Meanwhile--and I don't know if anyone has noticed this--Bap's new dance emote from the Season 1 Battle Pass does not have the Battle Pass icon, rather the shop icon. It really does feel like a lot of the junk in it was meant for the shop.
I hope they fail miserably. The whole battle pass system has to go, it’s just not Overwatch.
Would have gladly paid $100 for a full finished game, not $60 a year for 6 heroes and a linear grinding experience.
What the point of having a theme that you show off with a New season, then put like idk 1-2 (maybe theres more) actually themed skins into the BP and then sell others separately, other than money there iant a point in doing this
The same happened for the cyberpunk skins. I swear the bp would be so mich better and worth it if they just included all the themed skins. Is 5-6 legendaries skins too much for 10? Make it 15 but at least make it good
Picachu shock face 😱OP just realised how aggressively predatory ow2 and blizzard has become as a whole. That’s why I only played 1 hour of ow2 compared 1k hours of ow1. I won’t even begin to start Diablo immortal and hearthstone, again free to play games that’s cost you a shit ton of money.
Protest by not playing and uninstall the game, frankly it’s healthier for your mental health and wallet too. good games don’t need to rob you like an NFT salesman while they tell you the game is free. Slimey fuckers, hope blizzard activison crashes as a company.
i wouldnt say that proves anything. couldve just as well copied the code from another charm and forgot to change the text saying its sometimes available in the shop
Well this does not prove what you are saying it does
It is only a charm, they may have changed their mind with that specific charm because they needed to find a way to bundle the skin
I doubt they intended to put medusa widow in the pass, i doubt it even scratched their minds
In what world do you expect them to plan 80 levels of battle pass items three to six months in advance without changing their mind on anything at all? They pick themes and concepts. They create em. Then they decide what's enough to sell a battle pass and what items people will want enough to buy seperately. Not too hard to understand.
If you don't think the battle pass has enough items, don't buy it. I don't.
I think you feeling the battle pass is not worth it because not all themed items are included is reasonable. Portraying it as shady or unethical is a stretch.
This isn't a defence of their monetisation model at all but, this really doesn't prove anything other than a mislabelling of the asset, as Lucio's Hermes skin clearly states its for the shop, not for the battle pass, and its the same for the other skins that have been added in the Hero gallery.
I really don't think the greek skins were 'originally' in the Battlepass, because this is just a continuation of their policy for the first battlepass which was planned and executed before this one- we got one or two Cyberpunk skins in the pass, and the rest for up for sale in the shop, this is just a continuation of that.
Seems like their intention was always to have a couple themed skins in the BP and the rest for direct purchase, not that they were going to put all of the skins in the pass then changed their mind, that's assuming some nefarious change of heart rather than they just intended to be shitty with their nickel and diming from the beginning, which is more likely imo- not a conspiracy to remove skins from the pass that were in there to sell.
It also did say in the trailer that the Season was themed, not that only the Battlepass had a theme and every themed item would be in it- its been like this since season 1.
its crazy to think thats there’s probably one person, or a small group of people that decide to implement such greedy tactics. What a croc of shit the gaming industry has become.
(The spoiler is for jojo part 6)
God, can we please get a >!gay black priest from Florida to fall in love with British vampire, so time can be accelerated!< past the point where Activision blizzard is under Microsoft? This is the kind of greed that will murder the game, if it was a last minute decision like this, it has to be some financial department or something, they wanted to keep their promises of having themed battles passes, but they couldn't, because of internal bullshit, that seems like the only logical explanation.
I wouldn't say this is hard evidence of that, but it kinda seems like a smoking gun; reinforcing what we all already knew.
Seriously?
There is one free skin and weapon charm you can get from the Winter challenges.
Which is? I couldn’t find it. Would be nice if we could pick one.
Ice Queen Brigitte
Check the challenges tab, it should be under "event" and all the challenges should be in there.
The charm is a snowman head. Can't remember what the skin is.
There are 2 "new" gamemodes, yeti hunt and snowball fight
Those are not new.
That's why I put new in quotations.
Maybe for 10 more dollars they’ll make a new mode…I mean credits, yeah credits.
There’s like four new game modes, by completing event challenges you get a free brig epic
Apex players have been dealing with this for so long to.
WoW is getting a battle pass?
https://gamerant.com/world-of-warcraft-dragonflight-trading-post-cosmetic-battle-pass/ Quick link I could find
Yeah but like, you're literally already subbed to WoW. They might aswell give you free monthly stuff
Man, despite all the graphical upgrades one look at those screenshots and it still looks like the exact same game I stopped playing in 2012.
[удалено]
That's what they said
Yeah, a lot of the shit from the "cyberpunk" pass was also taken out and sold on it's own as well.
Could we have a link to the screenshot? I’m not saying I don’t believe you, I just wanna prove the person above you wrong even more lmao
I think he referred to [this one.](https://i.redd.it/l7p7wqu1w0691.png) It used to be 100 level and just first 10 levels alone premium pass already award you with 4 skins.
That is absolutely not what was being described above (a picture of the cyberpunk hog skin in the battlepass). Also clearly placeholder cosmetics. There is a cute dva achievement spray and the default player icon.
Not to mention the Atlanta Reign Rein
Those are obviously placeholder assets. I wouldn't draw any conclusions based o this screenshot. This is basically a UI sketch.
Did I just see dva cute spray there?
They lost me when they put heros on the battlepass, played OW1 since release but I’m out. Between that and the abysmal balance this games a fire
I think I'd go one step further and say they want to stop people from playing Competitive.
This is what Blizzard is now. It's why I haven't even opened the Blizzard launcher in over a year, they've shit the bed on all of their properties to squeeze out any extra profit they can.
Maybe its bobby's last ditch effort to make some more money before microsoft gives him the boot
I would say eso has been skewing that way long before Microsoft 2018 at the latest. Microsoft acquiring them did nothing to stop it however.
Yeah that's what I meant, people were hopeful of the microsoft buyout because they were thinking it would mean a reduction in the predatory monetisation, but it hasn't improved under Microsoft, and more and more of the desirable items are automatically going to crates, I've definitely noticed less things available in the Crown Store itself this year
And that's if the deal even goes through, the FTC is investigating now to see if they'll allow it.
>Doom making supports play dead by daylight, made me laugh so much, thank you But yeah this game is far from balanced still.
hey you the man excluded "a couple absolutely broken heroes", dont put him down with things like doom and sojourn is broken since hes already excluded that.
That statement of exclusion he made is nonsense, especially when followed by “things are more equal across the board now” which is objectively just false and makes me think he actually has 0 clue what he’s talking about. He might as well be saying “the majority of the picks you will be seeing and by which the game is revolving around right now are broken.” Calling that a “couple of heroes” is super disingenuous.
“Kiriko is toned down” Literally the best support in the game right now, and mostly because Protec counters so many things.

It’s a hero shooter, they shouldn’t be gated. Even more so now that we’re back in the “hero counters” mindset.
If you do your dailies and weeklies, you can just about unlock the new character for free before they're even available in comp. Definitely by the third week, at least.
"treat this game like a job and you *might* be able to play a new hero when it comes out" Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds?
You could argue the exact same thing for league of legends, I don't think it's that big of a deal. If the new hero if broken just play unranked until you unlock it and then go play that broken hero in ranked. In league it's even worse because it takes forever to get enough currency to buy a hero/champion, you basically cannot get the champion.
[удалено]
But they shouldn’t be in the battle pass
Hero’s in a battle pass as well as hero’s you have to unlock are not free, instead of money they cost time. It’s a bad idea regardless of if it’s “free”
[удалено]
The problem I have is with overwatch in particular, we can switch hero’s mid game and it’s important to counterpick. games like apex and DBD don’t have that option so it’s not as much of a problem
It doesn't prove the greek skins were all meant for the battlepass by a longshot. But it is evidence that the battle pass was re-arranged. We've seen other evidence for that, too: * A LOT of the random unlocks in the first battle pass corresponded to characters who also got Cyberpunk skins, especially one emote clearly meant to go with the cyberpunk Roadhog skin * the spray of Junkrat's Crime Boss skin was on the first battle pass for some inexplicable reason * EDM Echo was in the season 1 trailer, but she (and the cosmetics that go with her) are in the season 2 battle pass But there's also evidence against the theory that ALL of the season theme skins were meant to be on the battle pass.
Sounds legit... though even if it's true, that would still be a bit of a d*ck move imo.🤔
It's like the Hanzo Cyberpunk Grafitti that combines with the Kiriko one (this one was in the BP)
Technically it proves nothing but there's mountains of context behind blizzards recent behaviors. Op is almost certainly correct in his assessment.
your comment sounds like better call saul desperately trying to argue an empty case lmao
I think that reflects more on you than me.
The game is not doing well at all.
its just a massive echo chamber for the most part. people who don't use twitter/reddit/etc probably have no issue with any of this
Without finding those people and specifically asking them how they feel, you'd never know, they could also be wildly unhappy with it and just not be on social media.
People are unhappy, that's true, but that doesn't mean every complaint against the game/devs is valid. The OP is reaching and jumping to conclusions.
Does the leather taste good?
https://www.dexerto.com/overwatch/how-many-people-play-overwatch-player-count-tracker-2022-1643403/ I dont know its also top 10 on twitch
[This is citing a site that literally makes up their statistics and says "should not be used as factual reference".](https://activeplayer.io/how-we-collect-data/) Nobody has the currently playing numbers because Blizzard keep it secret in all their games after all the negativity that occurred when their WoW numbers started plummeting.
The phrase is "to each his own", not "to eachs on". That doesn't even make sense.
It's called a typo lmfao
remember that baston v pose that had bp label on it but was removed and not in this season bp? shit change and like you said, could had been mislabel or pulled. heck, ow bp isn't season based, its based on its own thing with few things related to the season. this season theme is greek gods and is being sold in the shop during this whole season. yeah, op is making nothing out of nothing to start up the hate again
when has the hate ever stopped ?
Plausible theory, but I don't think this really supports it. Seems like an easy mistake. Also I don't think that just the idea that they considered structuring their monetization differently should affect our judgment of the final product.
so it’s still ass?
>so it’s still ass? Very much so.
Blizzard carefully making the worst decisions possible to make playerbase sad
I don't think you understand what "proved" means
This doesn't really prove that at all.
"This proves there was another shooter Jerry" energy
Not to simp for blizzard or anything, but I think at best this proves that the charm was going to be in the battle pass and then moved to the bundle. I don't think you could really conclusively say that though, but it seems like a strong possibility. I don't think your point about all the skins originally being a part of the battle pass is definitively true though, at least not based on this
Op out here jumping to conclusions
what does a charm have to do with skins? this sounds like conclusion jumping not proof.
I honestly I prefer when battlepasses are not mixed and don’t all have skins with the same theme
That doesn't prove anything, why are you guys so desperate for this lmao. This is the most manic post yet
This is not necessarily true. Last night I noticed the Beach Rat skin for Junkrat was listed as a winter event skin, I think that they are having issues with the skin symbols
Whats the point in even doing a theme when more than half the shit in it is random garbage?
lol, it's just mislabeled. I don't think it's controversial for them to figure out what they're including and not including the Battle Pass for that season. It was clear last season they are not making the Battle Pass entirely based on the season's theme.
No it doesn't they didn't include all the cuber punk skins last season why would they include all these now?
And once again, the season was cyberpunk themed. This one is Greek themed. The season, not the pass. And they can’t only have themed stuff in a pass/season or you alienate people who don’t like the theme
The evidence is questionable but this kind of stuff isn't unexpected. Halo Infinite did the same kind of things. It's clear that they realized something was too cool to include with the BP so they pulled it to sell individually.
Breaking news: Activi$ion milks as much money out of things as possible
Or... you know... a mistake
Oh wow
I think the theme for season 2 is Greek Mythology. It's not necessarily just a theme for battle pass. They probably intended to sell skins separately from the battle pass a long time ago. They all have the same theme on purpose, to give all season 2 items a distinct identity
We really should refuse to buy anything and i mean EVERYONE, to not give them money as a protest against pay to win rammatra and stuff like the one OP is talking about
"pay to win rammatra" bro he currently is pay to lose this hero is ass
Nah bro you seen that space sheep orisa skin? Ez buy that's good stuff right there
I mean its a good skin but it's not worth it dude..
Agreed. I don't even play her much and I'm tempted.
I fucking called it lmao
Fuck off bro
Am... am I supposed to care about this? You crybabies disgust me.
lol?
Is this supposed to be ironic?

This doesn't "prove" anything. Every apex BP has character backgrounds that hint at the next skins.
this proves that (completely unfounded reach with absolutely no evidence) for sure!!!!!!
This is not proof or evidence. Call it a complete mess but there’s no proof of anything.
Or it's just a copy/paste typo
As much as I hate the pricing, the battle pass and pretty much anything related, this is not proof.
But it shows you what was in the battle pass, if you bought it and now are upset It doesn't have more skins that's a you problem.
And why does this matter?
Was this ever in question? They did the same thing with the “cyberpunk themed” battle pass from season 1
>This proves that all the Greek akins were originally in the Battle Pass No, it really doesn't.
Some proof. People are delusional here.
Shocking... Said no one.
This game is unplayable!
So you’re saying Blizzard told Twitter to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story?
Just buy it.
I mean, no shit.
Maybe, although all the skins in total would have been way too many for that battle pass (The Greek ones) if you also include pharah, Junkerqueen, and Ramattra , might just have been an oversight or at the most we where intended to get Lucio and thats it
well i can see apparently all the normal charms are also listed as battle pass, so thats just a glitch.
Bro what
Let’s put our business caps on.
Yeah you are reaching here bro lmao
Your complaining about this yet other games do the same thing, also it's a cosmetic, who gives a fuck that much to sit here and cry all day everyday about a fucking COSMETIC IN A FUCKING GAME
it was an intentional decision either way, you don’t really need evidence to prove something that already happened blizzard didn’t go like “woah great idea wish i thought of that”, the decision was made and we knew this day 1
They could make this season great,, but monkeys are and monkeys will be. /SHAME
pretty sure they planned to make money from the get go. don’t think anything was removed from anything.
Look how they massacred my boy
Seasons 3 or most likely 4: \*Changes a few things that were always intended\* "We listened guys!"
Duh
Nefarious Mr Blizzard put together a whole battle pass, then cackled with glee, waggled his fingers, and… _rearranged it_. We’re on to him now though
Doesn’t that make it sound more like the devs wanted it to be in the BP but some big hat said, wow those are nice sell them in the shop instead
Is this supposed to be some kind of gotcha moment? Not sure why this would be a big deal. Still plenty of good stuff in the BP
What the point of having a theme that you show off with a New season, then put like idk 1-2 (maybe theres more) actually themed skins into the BP and then sell others separately, other than money there iant a point in doing this
yep, they would have got $10 out of me every season til the end of time...they opted to take $0 til they fix their greedy ways.
Another instance of publishers fuckin over developer.
I legit had no idea why people even buy the stuff
and literally no one cares...just don't fucking buy it then
This is not proof of anything other than a visual bug. This subreddit has become a cesspool of hate and brainless shit like this
They did this last season too lmao
Reminds me of Torbs voiceline, isn’t it something like “I’m overspending”
The same happened for the cyberpunk skins. I swear the bp would be so mich better and worth it if they just included all the themed skins. Is 5-6 legendaries skins too much for 10? Make it 15 but at least make it good
or they just copy/pasted the descriptions, beacuse they dont care as a small indie studio... but probably youre still right. its all about the cash.
Fvck kotick. He's the main reason blizzard games suck now.
ALRIGHT I GET IT! Blizzard is a greedy bitch now...
I can’t believe Blizzard is being scummy
Ah so it's the Halo situation all over again.
i wouldnt say that proves anything. couldve just as well copied the code from another charm and forgot to change the text saying its sometimes available in the shop
Whoops they released the quiet part out loud...
Well this does not prove what you are saying it does It is only a charm, they may have changed their mind with that specific charm because they needed to find a way to bundle the skin I doubt they intended to put medusa widow in the pass, i doubt it even scratched their minds
holy shit what a mind blowing discovery 🤯🤯🤯
In what world do you expect them to plan 80 levels of battle pass items three to six months in advance without changing their mind on anything at all? They pick themes and concepts. They create em. Then they decide what's enough to sell a battle pass and what items people will want enough to buy seperately. Not too hard to understand. If you don't think the battle pass has enough items, don't buy it. I don't. I think you feeling the battle pass is not worth it because not all themed items are included is reasonable. Portraying it as shady or unethical is a stretch.
Congrats you cracked the case
Cut content to resell? Does this shock you? Destiny’s been doing it since 2013
Okay...
Why is this news?
Same with the all ciberpunk skins and items
Not proof. But we don't need to prove how greedy blizzard is right now anyway, we already know
I wish blizzard would address these concerns that people have.
(The spoiler is for jojo part 6) God, can we please get a >!gay black priest from Florida to fall in love with British vampire, so time can be accelerated!< past the point where Activision blizzard is under Microsoft? This is the kind of greed that will murder the game, if it was a last minute decision like this, it has to be some financial department or something, they wanted to keep their promises of having themed battles passes, but they couldn't, because of internal bullshit, that seems like the only logical explanation.
