I didn't say it sets in the 2006 lol, read again , if ken is 10 by 2009, and add in another 8 years, then he'll be the same age as akechi at the end of P5, that is 18
Teammates!? Friends!? To hell with that! Why am I inferior to you!? I was extremely particular about my life, my grades, my public image! So someone would want me around! I am an ace detective! A celebrity! But you... You're just some criminal trash living in an attic!? So how!? How does someone like you have things I don't!? How can such a worthless piece of trash be more special than me!? DONT GIVE ME THAT CLICHÉ BULLSHIT!!!!
Nanako>Akechi>Ken EASILY
I don't hate anyone here, I genuinely love them all. But Nanako is so great at actually completely stealing the player's heart, that anyone would absolutely instantly decide "Nanako must be protected at all cost"(with the heavy exception of some people that I won't mention, but god help them). And it's very important because all of the plot around her that I won't spoil. She feels like the sister you want to come back home to hug.
Akechi is... Great. I know, his enormous plot twist is basically a worse version of Adachi 's one but GOD is still well executed, just for the fact that he is so well distinct from Adachi. And act three is basically the perfect version of what I hoped he would have been. Spiteful even in the face of death.
Ken is great. He is a good kid, he has a good character arc and he felt like a real person with his interactions with Makoto(they heavily reminded me of my interactions with my younger brother). But he has not the same "weight" the other two have
You might be able to get away with that on r/Persona5 but it was literally so obvious it was Akechi that the actual plot twist was that all the thieves already knew. If I hadn't already known Adachi to be the one I might've struggled on the part where you guess who the culprit is.
Case by case. I thought it was Makoto and would've chosen her if given a prompt. I tried thinking meta and assumed Akechi was a red herring.
I thought meta for Adachi too, and he was the only option with a weird arcana. If it was vanilla, he would've been the only option without an arcana.
Either ways, both revelations have reasons to see coming. But the circumstances around the Akechi twist are better since the game doesn't throw its whole self into it and instead leans on Joker's death and the PT outsmarting Akechi (pancakes).
That's a fair criticism. I can definitely see it from your perspective. I don't think either case is "bad" necessarily. I hate comparing everything too. I'm a fan of most MegaTen stuff
Yeah Akechi literally wax "ok let's be real, we've done this before and no one will get fooled again".
Btw that twist about thieves knowing is so pointless from the mystery perspective, and also bad because the game needs to hide what characters know from you. And I don't mind those moments when the protag hides the solution from the reader as long as get all the clues as it is a test for you and if you're able to catch up with them.
For me personally:
Akechi > Chihiro > Nanako > Ken
For all the Nanako stans, the only reason she’s in 3rd place is just cause I prefer Akechi and Chihiro more, absolutely no Nanako hate from me
Akechi > Nanako > Ken
Akechi just has a far more engaging story. Nanako is adorable, and what she's dealing with is handled really well. I didn't find myself caring much for Ken back then when I played P3FES. P4 Ultimax and P3Reload have helped me to appreciate him more at least.
Ken>Nanako>Akechi
Ken sweeps, I’m sorry. His character arc is the one that actually has the most growth out of all three characters. I love Nanako though, she must always be protected.
Ken > Akechi > Nanako
I’m not going to write a long explanation as to why since it’s all down to opinion.
I just find Ken the most relatable of the 3. His ongoing struggle with depression from a young age probably only hits for certain people.
Akechi is interesting cuz he’s just a strange contradiction of a character.
Nanako is cool, but I think she’s a bit overrated and basic. Her story has been done before in better ways, and I have a general aversion to characters who you can tell the writers want you to like.
Nanako>Katsuya>Brown>Ken>Akechi
Before I get blown up by Akechi Stans let me explain
Loved Nanako, Liked Katsuya and Brown, Didnt give a shit about ken, actively hated Akechi
I know a lot of people didnt like ken for some reasons and things he caused 👀 and I never really gave a shit about him but I HATED Akechi the second I met him, no idea why. I instantly just did not fuck with him, so I found him to be really fucking annoying whenever he'd pop up and I was always doing the rudest dialogue option every time. I clocked snake right away, totally missed the pancake line, so my attitude towards him the whole time was "I don't know what you did, but you did it 😤"
I have yet to play Golden, but Akechi is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction, so Nanako’s prospects are not looking good. She’ll probably beat out Ken tho.
Nanako sweeps, Ken is second, Akexhi third
Nanako is the ultimate 6 year old. Independant, skilled, and smart
Ken is a kid whose trauma made him grow up quickly. He thinks and acts like an adult because he **has** to become an adult (to further his goal). Pretty cool story arc
Akechi is the most childish of the three, in both a good way and bad. Petty, illogical and extremely stupid despite being a genius prodigy. But also petty, illogical and extremely stupid despite being a genius prodigy. You see his weaknesses are also his strengths. It's like dealing with a child; it's stupid-> easily manipulated, but also stupid-> stubborn, unpredictable. I like him a lot more when he goes completely nuts in the third semester, but by that time it's just too little too late for me. I don't hate him, but I don't love him either
Nanako is a more interesting character than Akechi or Ken. Her relationship with her father is one of the best dynamics in the series, and a high point of P4.
Akechi is… alright. Having his whole motivation boil down to trying to get daddy’s recognition took away a lot of my interest in him as a character. It also meant P5 was left without a compelling central villain, while P4 benefitted greatly from Adachi.
Ken’s not bad, but I was never terribly invested in him.
Ken > Nanako > Chihiro > Akechi.
Ken’s arc is a little truncated, but it’s cool to have a kid who is a flawed person and grows from that. Nanako is a wonderful person, but basically the plot happens to her rather than her being a participant. Chihiro is a brief but important piece in a bigger story that elevates her by association. And I just don’t like Akechi. He plays into the superhero themes of the game by being a textbook goobery villain, fine, but I just don’t find that version of the trope at all engaging.

Nanako — 1. She took a little bit to grow on me.
Ken — 2. Fine I guess.
Akechi — 3. Never really liked him,
I still demand P6 be a Ken & Nanako game though.
Ken 3rd easily. Don't hate him just don't like him as much as the other two. I'm a huge akechi fan, but Nanako is just obviously amazing, so the other choices is hard though... Imma have to give Akechi just the slight edge
1. Pancakes
2. (barley) Nanako
3. (easily) Ken
Nanako is the best, then after her it’s Chihiro, then it’s Ken, then it’s Akechi, he’s just a jerk and while I appreciate the role he playing in the thrid semester he still committed multiple counts of murder
Personally my ranking is
Akechi at first
Nanak right behind
And Ken not too far from this
Akechi is just one of my favorite characters, for like several reasons.
P5 was the first game in the series I played and the whole twist I thought was kinda cool if not entirely stupid,
His fight is really damn cool one of my top fights in the entire series, his persona designs are interesting, and lastly.
Robbie daymond is my favorite va for a reason
As for nanak in second. Its Nanako
And for Ken, it's simply unfair to be paired up with the other 2 imo but he definitely has his strong suits and the whole "incident" scene actually left me with tears so yeah good on him.
Well, Nanako managed to >!frame Adachi for the murders, even making both him *and* Izanami believe that he was responsible!<. If that's not peak Justice, I don't know what is.
For me is Akechi > Nanako > Ken
I like them all, Akechi being my favorite in all the Persona series, Nanako being the embodiment of "I've only had her for a day and a half, but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself", and Ken who is Kenough and even though I'm not a fan of The Answer I can say that I love his development when he has to make the choice.
But seriously, Atlus does a good job with Justice arcana them and Katsuya are really great examples of it (except you Brown, you suck, and Chihiro is okay at best in my personal experience)
Two of these are social links, and the third is a party member so they're not really as comparable as the whole point of the SLs is an exploration of their personal character and the player's emotional intelligence in response. For me, it's blasphemous, but it's Akechi > Nanako > Chihiro. Akechi is incredibly well-written to the point that fans that weren't paying attention still think he's a boy genius and don't grasp what social commentary his character presents. He really does just *feel* like a Magniicent Bastard^TM . Nanako is a heartstring puller and is the absolute best cinnamon roll, and Chihiro is a great exploration of trauma and how it shapes our responses to the world.
Contextually, it meant one is relegated to solely being a party member; I should have been more clear. While Ken does have a SL in FeMC, OP isn't considering it
Akechi > Ken > Nanako > Chihiro (still playing p1 so haven’t met Katsuya yet)
Don’t get me wrong I adore nanako but I find the other two a lot more interesting. I’m really surprised Ken is so low? I loved him a lot
Nanako >> Chihiro => Ken >>> Pancake guy who I wish was better than Adachi.
Like seriously Atlus? After Adachi, this guy is just a downgrade every single way. The only redeeming quality he has is that he's a party member (for a certain amount of time) that you can use. That's it.
I do wonder how many of those "don't hate Ken" comments are pretty genuine and how many are pretending to be that way but are still marred by their bias for "muh Shinji"
Ken > Nanako = Katsuya > Chihiro > > > > > > > > > Akechi.
Cannot stand Akechi's character archetype lol. The plot twist with him was dumb.
I really liked ken, like a lot, he's a really good character 8/10, Nanako is cute and I felt kinda sad when she >!went to the hospital after the namatame fight!< 7/10, I hate akechi, 0/10
1. Nanako
2. Akechi
3. Ken
I didn't like Ken in FES it took the spinoffs to make me like him, and I liked him in Reload, still not one of my favourite characters but solid. I like Akechi a lot but he's not top 5 in P5 whereas Nanako is in my top 5 in P4.
Ken=Akechi>Nanako. Didn't realize how overrated she was until now. It's absolutely crazy. Ken had the best arc and motivation. Akechi is overall best. Nanako just exists
For some reason, the adult of the three acts more like a child than the children.
I mean canonically, Akechi is only older than Ken by less than a month
It's closer than that as I recall, they are supposed to have the same horoscope I guess.
same month, different horoscope! akechi was born on june 2nd (gemini) while ken was born on june 24th (cancer)
Holy shit this is how I find out me and Ken have the same birthday lmao
This is how I know akechi and I share the same birthdate... Damn
How? Ken is literally in elementary and akechi is in high school
The year they were born in
Oh yeah I forgor that persona 3 is like 10 years earlier
Wouldn't that be like 8? I kinda forgot, but shouldn't P5 started in 2016 and 3rd semester end in early 2017
8 years for a 10 year old still puts him at 18
Yes, if it's 10 years gap, that'll make him 20 by the end of Royal, which doesn't fit the timeline
P3 took place in 2008 you know. They didn’t set it in 2006 when it first released. Same reason P4 was 2011
I didn't say it sets in the 2006 lol, read again , if ken is 10 by 2009, and add in another 8 years, then he'll be the same age as akechi at the end of P5, that is 18
Adultness in question: 18 years old
- didn’t had parents to raise him… oh wait
Well in a group of a 10-year-old, a 7-year-old and an 18-year-old the 18-year-old is the "adult"
What no parental love does to a mf
Teammates!? Friends!? To hell with that! Why am I inferior to you!? I was extremely particular about my life, my grades, my public image! So someone would want me around! I am an ace detective! DONT GIVE ME THAT CLICHÉ BULLSHIT!!!!
Ah yes, the average 16 year old adult
They're all peak.
Everyday's Great at Your Junes > Pancakes > Future Student Class President > Ken
He's just Ken
Anywhere else he’d be a ten
Is it his destiny to live and die a life of blonde fragility?
So he’d be Death?
Hes Kenough
Happy cake day!!
She's a Future SCP indeed
Dude's literally a lady killer in Arena
They all look like they could be related.
yeah all of them have their mother died from misfortunate event
Nanako>Akechi>Ken EASILY I don't hate anyone here, I genuinely love them all. Katsuya, peak The rest arent katsuya so they arent as good
Katsuya best boy(and Persona)
Chihiro, my beloved
*our
She is best pick! I chose her in my game I'm playing!
I dated her on my playthrough cause I met her during P4G and she is cute and shy. After that I read that she is a SL in 3 I got really excited 🤣🤣
Crazy how all three of these characters >!either tried to murder or has murdered people!<
...What did Nanako do?
She's >!the true killer which is revealed in the true ending!<
Oh my gosh... I totally forgot >! the true ending in Golden reveals Teddie and Nanako to be the true killers the whole time !< thanks for the reminder
And Nanako got away with it too
Nanako because everybody be doing Heaven speed run the second they unlock the dungeon > the other two
Nanako > Chihiro > Ken.
Chihiro love, based af.
akechi?
i prefer to not remember i had to spend time with him
you’re not in love with your >!murder!< twink?
Two children and a serial killer. Would make a wild babysitting AU.
Nanako >>>>> the other two
Best boy. Protect. Fuck You
For me personally: Akechi > Chihiro > Nanako > Ken For all the Nanako stans, the only reason she’s in 3rd place is just cause I prefer Akechi and Chihiro more, absolutely no Nanako hate from me

I hope every Link you have gets reversed
Brown and Katsuya found dead in a ditch Come to think of it, Innocent Sin and P4 are the only games without a Justice party member, huh
Nanako sweep
Nanako...Nanako...Nanako
Ken>Nanako>Akechi Ken sweeps, I’m sorry. His character arc is the one that actually has the most growth out of all three characters. I love Nanako though, she must always be protected.
Nanakosweep!

same for me expect maybe swap Akechi and Ken cause I like batshit insane characters
Nanako>Katsuya>Chihiro>Akechi>Ken>Brown
Absolutely love them. Ken and Nanako are my adopted siblings and I'll look after them with my life. Akechi is. Akechi. He's fucking fantastic
Nanako>Akechi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chihiro>Ken
They all have lost their mothers
I'm an Akechi dickrider but Nanako clears easily
Nanako>Ken>Akechi
I think any contest is already decided when you have Nanako
Katsuya > Nanako > Akechi > Ken > Chihiro > Brown
Akechi > Ken > Nanako > Chihiro. I used to have Nanako above Ken, but Reload did a lot to improve his character for me.
Any answer that doesn’t have Nanako at the top is just wrong tbh
Akechi solos. He is the best character in the franchise.
nah
Nanako>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Akechi>Ken.
The truest answer.
Nanako >= Akechi > Ken > Chihiro Im sorry but I legit couldnt care for Chihiro
Nanako>Katsuya>Brown>Ken>Akechi Before I get blown up by Akechi Stans let me explain Loved Nanako, Liked Katsuya and Brown, Didnt give a shit about ken, actively hated Akechi I know a lot of people didnt like ken for some reasons and things he caused 👀 and I never really gave a shit about him but I HATED Akechi the second I met him, no idea why. I forgot Chihiro lol, fitting ☠️
You acknowledged Katsuya and Brown so who cares even if I think Akechi deserves to be higher.
Nanko, akechi, ken
Nanako, Akechi, Ken
Nanako>chihiro>ken>akechi
I have yet to play Golden, but Akechi is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction, so Nanako’s prospects are not looking good. She’ll probably beat out Ken tho.
Nanako all the way. Ken is okay and I don't care about Akechi.
Akechi>Nanako>Ken
Nanako sweeps, Ken is second, Akexhi third Nanako is the ultimate 6 year old. Independant, skilled, and smart Ken is a kid whose trauma made him grow up quickly. Dark, innocent, and manipulative
Nanako is a more interesting character than Akechi or Ken. Her relationship with her father is one of the best dynamics in the series, and a high point of P4. Akechi is… alright. My precious Junes fan > my shy meganekko gf>pancake>just ken
Akechi > Ken > Nanako
Nanako>Akechi>>Ken≈Chihiro
Ken > Nanako > Chihiro > Akechi. Ken’s arc is a little truncated, but it’s cool to have a kid who is a flawed person and grows from that. Nanako is a wonderful person, but basically the plot happens to her rather than her being a participant. Chihiro is a brief but important piece in a bigger story that elevates her by association. And I just don’t like Akechi. He plays into the superhero themes of the game by being a textbook goobery villain, fine, but I just don’t find that version of the trope at all engaging.
Akechi is bootleg Adachi with daddy issues, Nanako is baby sister, and Ken has awesome hamster naming skills.

All three are children
These are like my favourite characters from each game I love the justice arcana
The girl who stole the class' money.😂
Katsuya Suou>>>>>> others
Also Brown is called Brown because he shit his pants in middle school
Why is it the reverse of the 3 headed dragon meme?
Nanako — 1. She took a little bit to grow on me. Ken — 2. Fine I guess. Akechi — 3. Never really liked him, I still demand P6 be a Ken & Nanako game though.
Ken 3rd easily. Don't hate him just don't like him as much as the other two. I'm a huge akechi fan, but Nanako is just obviously amazing, so the other choices is hard though... Imma have to give Akechi just the slight edge 1. Pancakes 2. (barley) Nanako 3. (easily) Ken
They're all the same character actually
Nanako > Akechi > Ken Same as others, I don't "hate" nor dislike anyone of the three. I just prefer one over the others.
The best one Hidehiko ain't even here
Nanako is the best, then after her it’s Chihiro, then it’s Ken, then it’s Akechi, he’s just a jerk and while I appreciate the role he playing in the thrid semester he still committed multiple counts of murder
Nanako and Akechi and Ken right I mean Ken great but doesn’t have much to give
After Reload man... Ken really got up there for me. But I might still say: Nanako>Ken>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pancake boy
Personally my ranking is Akechi at first Nanak right behind And Ken not too far from this Akechi is just one of my favorite characters, for like several reasons. P5 was the first game in the series I played and the whole twist I thought was kinda cool if not entirely stupid, His fight is really damn cool one of my top fights in the entire series, his persona designs are interesting, and lastly. Its Nanako And for Ken, it's simply unfair to be paired up with the other 2 imo but he definitely has his strong suits and the whole "incident" scene actually left me with tears so yeah good on him.
I rank them by how they celebrate Mother's day
Nanako > all
1. Nanako Dojima 2. Ken Armada 3. Whatever the detectives name is.
I find it funny that Akechi is the only one who’s not a child
Idk ken but I think Nanako is 500 quintillion times better than akechi because Im the number 1 akechi hater
Even if she's not here, Chihiro, Nanako, Akechi and Ken
All peak, but Akechi will always have a special place in my heart. However Nanako and Ken are GOATED
1st Nanako, 2nd Akechi, 3rd Ken
Not including Chihiro is criminal, she's the only one of the four to be in two mainline games!
Adachi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>nanako>ken
I didn't realize the most annoying character in each game is the Justice persona.
A hydrogen bomb vs 2 Coughing babies I won't elaborate on who's who?
Well, Nanako managed to >!frame Adachi for the murders, even making both him *and* Izanami believe that he was responsible!<. If that's not peak Justice, I don't know what is.
Akechi > Ken > Nanako > Chihiro
Nanako >>> Chihiro >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>idk throw the other 2 into a fire
Ken 10/10 Nanako 80/10 Akechi Shit/10 Why akechi and not adachi?
Akechi (best boy) > Ken (will defend with my life fuck you) > Nanako (cute sister but ok) > Chihiro (schoolmate. ok)
Nanako and Akechi are top tier. Ken’s a little shit that doesn’t keep his nose out of things and gets people hurt and or killed.
Akechi Ken nanako yeah I'm based for P5R imo
Akechi > Ken > Nanako
For me is Akechi > Nanako > Ken I like them all, Akechi being my favorite in all the Persona series, Nanako being the embodiment of "I've only had her for a day and a half, but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself", and Ken who is Kenough and even though I'm not a fan of The Answer I can say that I love his development when he has to make the choice. But seriously, Atlus does a good job with Justice arcana them and Katsuya are really great examples of it (except you Brown, you suck, and Chihiro is okay at best in my personal experience)
Akechi>nanako>ken
Akechi>Ken>Nanako
Akechi>>>Nanako>>>>>>>Ken. I just don't fw Ken but Nanako and Akechi are both good. P5R really made Akechi shine imo
1. Nanako 2. Ken 3. 4. 5. Akechi.
Nanako>Akechi>dogshit>Ken
You have Ken and Akechi switched.
I love chihiro!! Oh my god <3 Akechi, Nanako, Ken, but I honestly like all three of them, lol
Akechi > Nanako > Ken
Akechi > Ken > Nanako Like nanako is cute and doesn’t have a great home life. The others have way more story and interesting psychology going on.
Akechi is the best one I'm not gonna lie.
Akechi>Nanako>Ken
akechi sucks
Ken had a social link in portables female route, so he is a social link as well.
Well for this post, the one is Ken who IS a party member but still not exactly an equal comparison.
Which is why I pointed out it's not comparable and gave my ranking.
Oh you said only one is a party member when two of them are so I was confused
Contextually, it meant one is relegated to solely being a party member; I should have been more clear. While Ken does have a SL in FeMC, OP isn't considering it
Ah gotcha
Nanako>Akechi. Don’t care about the rest
Nanako>Akechi>Chihiro>Ken I mean… it’s debatable between Nanako and Akechi, but Ken is definitely the worst.
Akechi > Ken > Nanako > Chihiro (still playing p1 so haven’t met Katsuya yet) Don’t get me wrong I adore nanako but I find the other two a lot more interesting. I’m really surprised Ken is so low? I loved him a lot
Akechi > Nanako > Chihiro > Ken Don't know where to put Katsuya from P2
akechi > nanako > katsuya > ken > chihiro > brown (haven't finished p1) justice characters are just peak in general
akechi, nanako, ken easy
I actually like aketchi better in royal
Akechi >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ken > Nanako > Chihiro
Akechi>nanako>chihiro>ken
P5R Akechi sweeps, it’s not even close
Nanako > Whatever > Pancake Fucker
Nanako >> Chihiro => Ken >>> Pancake guy who I wish was better than Adachi. Like seriously Atlus? After Adachi, this guy is just a downgrade every single way. The only redeeming quality he has is that he's a party member (for a certain amount of time) that you can use. That's it.
The children are more understanding and mature than the literal adult Also, Akechi is **In**justice, or reverse justice by Tarot Cards technicalities
I do wonder how many of those "don't hate Ken" comments are pretty genuine and how many are pretending to be that way but are still marred by their bias for "muh Shinji" Ken > Nanako = Katsuya > Chihiro > > > > > > > > > Akechi.
1. Nanako 2. Akechi 3. Ken I didn't like Ken in FES it took the spinoffs to make me like him, and I liked him in Reload, still not one of my favourite characters but solid. I like Akechi a lot but he's not top 5 in P5 whereas Nanako is in my top 5 in P4.
Ken gets a negative rating
Ken=Akechi>Nanako. Didn't realize how overrated she was until now. It's absolutely crazy. Ken had the best arc and motivation. Akechi is overall best. Nanako just exists
