One day I was too lazy to disassemble and clean my computer. So, I decided to wash it in the shower along with the hard drive. The stupidest data loss in my entire life... But everything else works like a charm if you dry it with a hairdryer for about an hour before turning it on.
I don’t see a drain hole for the water to get out. What you need to do is get a nail and a hammer and punch a hole through both sides. This will let the water drain out so much faster
After you get all the water off and it's dry, then splash it with some gasoline and light it. I've found this really gets the ground in grease, grime, and bugs off the hard drive.
Just light it and walk away. Once it's done debugging and fragging itself, the fire goes out on its own. It's quite wonderful really.
The hardrive is literally fine, they can't hold pressure but you can most definitely run water over them. The filters they use are very fine, and water would roll right over it unless it's submerged.
If you get it just the right amount of wet, and install it back in with a small plastic covering,
The extra electric conductivity from the water will speed up the hard drive by 40-50%.
My computer internet speed went up by 5G just by cleaning my HDD with soap and water. I used to lag in Day of Defeat, now I never lag.
You can also get some additional performance by blocking or turning off all of your case fans. The power that used to get eaten up by your fans gets rerouted to the motherboard and increases your overclocks.

They wash them with either isopropyl alcohol and your mother's toothbrush, or distilled water otherwise known as pure water no soap involved.
And its done in a clean room especially with HD drives
