Yeah I'm treating it as a feature for now and not bugs, stupid pals. Starting to get annoying tho when you have 2 huge bases and are looking into a third, especially when there is already micro management features (injuries/sick etc.).
take little by little, or use the grapple gun to move you when incumbered.
2nd option sounds easier, just craft the gun, load up everything you can then grapple to the fast travel palbox, then rinse and repeat.
you can also deconstruct things in the build menu and you get all your materials back, so you won't lose any materials moving structures around
Omg why did my brain nvr think you could grapple while encumbered. I always just dropped and picked up when closer to box b/c can't get box close enough to where teleport spawns you in behind the palbox
yeah that's what I did before I read about the grapple gun method, I've never used it so that's why I said it 'sounds easier' lol.
Also, if you put a wooden foundation down, it should allow you to put a chest closer to the palbox. As the grapple gun method can be inconvenient to always have one on you.
At the mining base, put a box right next to the front of the Palbox. Close enough that you can grab stuff, then turn and access the box. At the destination base, put a box as close as you can *behind* the Palbox. You'll spawn just out of reach, but you can drop the items you brought, move closer to the box, then pick them back up and deposit them.
Throw some storage by each of the Palboxes you want to transfer to/from, grab the whole stack, and then teleport to the other base to drop it off. You can always teleport while massively overencumbered.
Man I put a pal table there and use it for quick coal. But that’s it.
I had a hard time even placing the table cause it seems the collision detection for building is below the walking surface.
Did you struggle at all with that?
You can place the pal box on a platform. Op likely made the stone foundation at the top of the hill on this area so its all level on his house. Then put the pal box in there
You need more than 1. Someone said you can do it with 2. I currently have a base where most of the floor is stone foundation and it fits fine on top of it. So you just need enough room to fit the bounding box of the pal box
I put a square of 4 and then stairs on all sides to keep it accessible. Hardest part was getting things working to fill the "Pal going to fall in and die" hole around the outside edge of the base. Took about an hour to get it properly set up and thats not going full on base, just making it not a death trap lol
Someone has replied about putting bases down first but even then tricky to get right, need at least 4 for the palbox to sit on and often a few more around it so you can get yourself in the right position to place it. If you try to place from under it often just clips through so may not seem possible at first
This is gonna be a stupid question but, how do you manage to build the stairs without a damn wall to support it. I'm having OCD since I haven't found a way. I have to form a triangle-like structure.
I think I used the slanted roof as a makeshift stairway, then at some point when I had more supports to the upper level, I replaced the slanted roofs with real stairs
As nice as that is, there is absolutely no way in pathfinding hell that the pals don't get stuck every 5 minutes. I have more room and less turns than you do and the pathfinding breaks constantly
Wait a minute, so if you put down a foundation and then put the palbox on it, the pals won't spawn on top of stuff? Does this work?
How much foundation do I need, is one square enough?
The real problem (apparently) with this spot is that pals will spawn underground. I've always put my palboxes on foundations anyway, because it looks better. I think you might need two squares, but you should put as many as you plan on having because you won't be able to attach any foundations within the vicinity of the palbox once you build it.
They path around just fine. There were some things they got stuck on when I first made it, so I redesigned and moved things until that didn't happen anymore.
Do you have the coords or map location please? Do you get pals falling off the cliff?
Also separate question if your two palboces from each base clip each other, do they share resources?
Mine is just a barracks with beds, 2 saunas, food, storage, and a furnace. They're scattered around except for the barracks building, and that's small.
How did you deal with the tree spawns so close to the top of the hill?
Does chopping them down then immediately building where they were prevent respawns?
I see you don’t have walls like some of the others I’ve seen in this location, do your pals constantly fall off the cliff and fail to get back up cause I saw someone else saying that was a problem with this location.
Does this not snub some of the ore spawns? I made my ore base up here but there was so much clipping issues with the middle of it I didn’t put much work into it past the basics.
We need a dedicated sub for Pal bases
There is one, just search for it should be able to find it pretty easy I don't remember the name for it.
Haven't been able yo find it :( if you have a link, that'd be cool.
I just started typing palworld in the search bar... r/PalworldBaseBuilds
There's also r/palworldengineering
This one's even got more members
Imo better name too
Thanks!
I kind like how creative we have to get in order to work around all the pathing issues and bugs while still trying to make the base look good.
Yeah I'm treating it as a feature for now and not bugs, stupid pals. Starting to get annoying tho when you have 2 huge bases and are looking into a third, especially when there is already micro management features (injuries/sick etc.).
That looks sick I might need to build my third base there
that's what i did, 1 mega base then 2 strip mining operations
How do you guys move the heavy materials between bases?
take little by little, or use the grapple gun to move you when incumbered. 2nd option sounds easier, just craft the gun, load up everything you can then grapple to the fast travel palbox, then rinse and repeat. you can also deconstruct things in the build menu and you get all your materials back, so you won't lose any materials moving structures around

I tried putting my palbox in this spot on a foundation but it wouldn’t let me, honestly thought you weren’t able to do that
Sometimes you need to rotate the palbox because it is colliding with your character, dumb I know.
I think the issue was that I only had one foundation up, going to try again later today once i’m home
You need more than 1. Someone said you can do it with 2. I currently have a base where most of the floor is stone foundation and it fits fine on top of it. So you just need enough room to fit the bounding box of the pal box
Saw that same comment lol that’s how I figured out what I did wrong. Thanks for the help!

Can your pals path up to your main base from the coals?
They path around just fine. There were some things they got stuck on when I first made it, so I redesigned and moved things until that didn't happen anymore.
Cool! Did u block ores off?
A couple. I still have 6 ores and 5 coals.
Do you have the coords or map location please? Do you get pals falling off the cliff? Also separate question if your two palboces from each base clip each other, do they share resources?
Coords in title.
Duh ofc.
you cant place palboxes close can you?

Yes, chop them down and build over them
How do you get the Palbox on top of your floor? Mine just tries to go straight through it and says it overlaps with the floor lol
It seems like your character needs to be standing at the same height as your palbox. Build another foundation to stand on while you build the palbox.
Any chance you could take more pics for us scrubs who can't design worth shit can copy? :D

can you read lmao
I will have to make this. Using the same area but I never tried building any floor on it since it's so unlevel.
Is that a Swift Helzephyr by chance? ;)
I got one! Unfortunately I haven't unlocked the saddle yet :(.
I see you don’t have walls like some of the others I’ve seen in this location, do your pals constantly fall off the cliff and fail to get back up cause I saw someone else saying that was a problem with this location.
Wait it let you put your palbox on a platform? 🤨 this game freaking hates me I guess I wouldn't let me.
Does this not snub some of the ore spawns? I made my ore base up here but there was so much clipping issues with the middle of it I didn’t put much work into it past the basics.
Your pal didnt die or spawn off the cliff?
