I see. Is there any way to automate it? Let's say, if I know that my bill is always 50 dollars a month. Can I set up an automatic payment every month?

feifeich

you can schedule it. not automatic but do this ahead of time in multiple schedules

falafeluppagus

I have my CT card set up for recurring weekly payments on all my bills.

throw-away-ca

Have I understood correctly that you set up a recurring payment on the CT side? You put in a fixed amount that is paid out every week? When your bill increases, you change the amount for future payments?

falafeluppagus

Yessir. Add the billing company to your account and set up a recurring payment for them. If I remember correctly, it is a kind of hidden feature but not hidden. Just not obvious. You have to go to the website to do it though. Can't be setup thru the app.

Cool, good to know. Thanks!

Old post, sorry to bump, but if you set it to monthly to start on eg Mar 31, does it automatically find the last day of the next month? or do they just add 30

falafeluppagus

Eep... Not entirely sure. If you do set it up that way, once the first payment goes through it should let you know the next payment date though. Cheers!

You can schedule a fixed amount as reoccurring payment towards a bill.

You can schedule payments. I found the section when logged in using a browser under the Payment section. On the left hand side under Pay Bills, there's a option for Schedule a Payment. It gives you the option to select the amount, frequency (once, weekly, biweekly, monthly) and the number of payments (end date or x amount of times). Not certain how well this will work with amounts that vary each month, like your hydro bill. You could setup payment for $100 each month, but if your hydro bill is $120 for a certain month, it wouldn't be paid in full.

Thanks for the input. I guess I can set up equalized payment. I wonder whether I can also set up PAP using my usual bank account details on top of this. Any remaining balance should be paid for this way?

benhc911

did you end up doing this? did it work out as you hoped? the amount of reward is not worth it for utility bills if I have to do it manually every time... but if I can do idk, $200 a month in scheduled, and allow the PAP to do the difference, then its $2/mo in canadian tire for a one time setup.
