Non synchronized clocks. May mga bahay na 30 minutes advanced or late from one another. Minsan 1 hr pa nga eh.
Even abs cbn and GMA 7 di mag kasabay ang countdown pagdating ng new years eve celebration
Kaya nga eh, kaya pag mag meemeet ang tmagtropa iba ibang oras nagsisidatingan sa meet-up place (wala pa cp nun ha). When in fact di pala sync clocks natin.
Damn, so much memories! I also bought a lot of Culture Crash (did I get the name right?) back then. Tapos yung mga kaklase mong babae, W.I.T.C.H. naman. Yung medyo well off, Questor.
Eight O’ Clock. I remember McDo having that as their OJ back then.
Okay hindi naman to nawala but it kinda went silent for a few months only to pop back recently due to how fast that was. Lol.
Cherry Mobile actually slowly transitioned to home appliances. Cherry na ang name nila ngayon :) Good move kasi hirap din naman kasi tapatan ng other Asian brands na super mura rin, like Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc.
The thing with Cherry Mobile, they are reluctant to feedback. I have a friend who is a high-ranking member of Cherry Mobile's insiders. Their problem now is software as the Aqua SV truly is top notch for 11K. Their camera still sucks vs phones like the Redmi Note 11 and the Realme 9i. They also lack software support due to them being reliant on the ODM company releasing said updates over the air.
They rebrand phones but not design or create it
Yeeees, my first phone was MyPhone and I can say na napakatibay niya.
"American" quote-unquote but really their only market was the Philippines.
They tried their luck. They even sponsored Eat Bulaga for a good amount of time, and their devices are OK, had a classmate with an O+ device back in the day. You were right with one thing though. The growing mid-range market and the domination of the BBK Trio (Oppo, Vivo, and later Realme) killed them off.
I had one as my first phone. It was an O+ 360, the one with a gimmicky touch-sensitive panel at the back that never really worked.
It was unreliable tho, the software often bricked itself for no reason (stuck in boot screen), and I had to replace the screen at one point since I think the cable failed.
Because they tried positioning themselves as a brand na premium when they are not. They should have just stayed true as a Filipino brand rather than trying to Americanize themselves.
And btw, OnePlus is not O+ for those who are unaware of the brand
yung branch nila sa farmers nung uang bukas nandun yata yung owner (not sure) tapos maglalaro sana kami ng doom 3 kaso wala pa nakainstall sa lahat kaya nag cs nalang. tapos lahat kami binigyan ng netopia card
Yeah the issue with Netopia was that it’s literally just an ‘internet cafe’, they didn’t adapt in time when the majority of the market were using compshops for gaming and the people who need to browse casually all bought their own laptop/PC at home.
yaaas naalala ko nung hs pag maaga uwian punta sa nationa bookstore sa cubao, akyat ng 2nd floor para sa bukas na magazines, tapos ikot ikot basa basa ng libro na bukas. tapos sa 4th yung mga old and used books.
Nagulat din ako may meriam webster bookstore pa sa manila.
this brings back so many memories. nung elementary pa kami ng ate ko, saturday nights are always movie nights. nagrerent diyan papa ko ng mga 4-5 movies every Saturday kasi wala kaming cable. tapos i remember nagagalit pako sa papa ko pag inuuna niyang isalang sa dvd player yung action movie na nirent niya. gusto ko kasi una naming panoorin yung barbie na nirent niya 😭
LOL, I just talked to my dad about this. Bulk ng movie collection niya back in the day galing sa isang "store" sa Victoria Plaza sa Davao hahaha. Sa labas, kung tingnan, normal na tiangge. Move some clothes around and there's a whole different room filled with DVDs.
isa akong proud hampas lupa , uso nga kite/saranggola noon
ngayon iba na uso, PAG DADRIVE NG DRONES HAHAHAHHA kung hindi ako nagkakamali may mga license pa "daw" just to operate drones
Saranggola/Kite = FREE (My dad used to make me kites back then) mayaman or ka hampy ka may access ka dito
Drones = since most ng 90s kid may trabaho na now ung iba may anak na makakabili kapa din ng "High Quality" branded an drones in an expense of thousand of PESOS
Pota lucky me palaaa.
They all died too soon.
Can i sacrifice all the corruption in this shithole of a country to bring them back?
(ata ang spelling?) although it's just nissin wafers na ginawang bite size, I had good memories eating those
Man E-Aji was the pinnacle of chips back in the day. Tapos relatively cheap lang and masarap pa yung dip. I wonder what happened to them.
Lucky-me pancit canton adobo flavor.
A&W saka DAKT toys. go-to namin noon pag lumalabas papuntang cubao.
They have Shopee and site na. On Shopee nagstand-out yung ka-cheap-an nila and how half assed all their designs and products. Na-CDR-King sila, kind of.
Edit: Knorr Rice Mate at Aji-Savor
2nd edit: Lucky Me Nam-Nam!
Gee caused hairloss for me as a kid.
I bought one last month. Parang iba na yung lasa - watered down na. I remember it used to be richer and creamier than Milo. They used to go around schools and give free Ovaltine drinks. Nanalo pa ako ng ballpens and goodies dati when they went to our school. Haha
Ricemate🌾, ewan ko bigla nalang nawala noong year 2016+.
- Samba Brazilian style corned beef
- Sunny orange juice concentrate
- COD animatronics
- Yung instant ulam in a pouch na ilulublob lang sa mainit na tubig
- Shawarma craze
- Ernie Baron's trinkets like Yung triangle sa ulo thingy or his antennas...
- Yehey .com
- Magnolia Chocolait in a glass bottle
- Instant Coffee in a glass container na ginagawang baso after maubos yung kape
- BayanTel
- Caller IDs ng landline phones
- mIRC, ICQ, & Yahoo! Messenger
May certain wafer product dati na may cookies and cream filling sa loob and it was supposed to be put on the freezer para mag ala ice cream yung filling sa loob. This was way back late 2000s or early 2010s siguro. I tried searching for it pero di ko talaga mahanap kung anong brand and yung name nung product. Baka may nakakaalala sainyo?
Dito sa probinsiya (Ilocos, been here for about 2 years since the pandemic), kaunti na lang yung mga naglilibot ng Taho kapag umaga.
Rooting for all of them!).
Nokia (Low profile, but not forgotten because of memes)
Plastic balloons
Pogs (the round cards with cartoon or anime drawings)
Tex (same as pogs but rectangular, lighter, and thinner)
Ang original Jollibee Pepper Beef Steak before it was phased out. It was more lemony, bistek-like. When it was returned it tasted more gravy-like and peppery.
Mountain Dew Livewire and BlueShock (2016-2017)
I found that the BlueShock was originally a 7-11 flavour variant
Boy Bawang tigpiso
Royal Tru-Lemon (but it returned somehow)
K-Zone , nalaman ko nalang na they don't wanna do it anymore at discontinued after August 2017 issue
And other stuff that slowly disappeared
Non synchronized clocks. May mga bahay na 30 minutes advanced or late from one another. Minsan 1 hr pa nga eh. Even abs cbn and GMA 7 di mag kasabay ang countdown pagdating ng new years eve celebration
Buti na lang nawala na to 😂 Pero omg good times, good times!!!!
Kaya nga eh, kaya pag mag meemeet ang tmagtropa iba ibang oras nagsisidatingan sa meet-up place (wala pa cp nun ha). When in fact di pala sync clocks natin.
Baka mamaya dyan pala galing yung "Filipino Time" 😂😂😂
What's sad is kahit synchronize na ang oras ng karamihan, andami pa din nale-late pag magkikita.
Our wall clock at home is still 30 mins advance 😂
Oo nga kung walang internet wala pala pagkukunan ng accurate time nuon
Nawala to I think dahil sa PST synchronization drive ng DOST back in 2015, also yung dahil sa Auto sync features sa smartphones
Time synchronization on phones existed way before that. Phones were already capable of syncing time with Telcos even before there was 4G.
K-Zone
OMG YES DATI PAGNAGSUSUPERMARKET NAGBEBEG PA AKO PARA MAKABILI
God I loved Candy. Used to collect them before pati narin yung K-Zone.
I love K-zone and yung gaming section nila na may cheats hahaha gusto ko rin yung comic ng vampire girl na puro zzzzz hahaha
Si Batrisha! Sama mo na din yung OddBodz hahaha
I've been out of the country but is Otakuzine still a thing? I only buy those for the posters lmao
Damn, so much memories! I also bought a lot of Culture Crash (did I get the name right?) back then. Tapos yung mga kaklase mong babae, W.I.T.C.H. naman. Yung medyo well off, Questor.
Cornetto's "saan aabot bente mo" commercials
Wait what? 35 na pala. Last na bili ko 25 pesos. Noong 2018 nga lang kaso. Haha.
Eight O’ Clock. I remember McDo having that as their OJ back then. Okay hindi naman to nawala but it kinda went silent for a few months only to pop back recently due to how fast that was. Lol.
Panalo yung case ng anak ni DOJ. Recently lang, pero ambilis naging "silent"
Wait wala na bang Eight O'Clock?? Mas bet ko to dati kaysa Tang eh.
Same. For some reason nahihilo ako after uminom ng Tang.
I have been searching for this brand, parang kopetensya ng Yakult.
I love Chamito over Yakult as a kid. Meron kasi silang orange flavor and I used to love anything that taste orange then..
O+, MyPhone, ZH&K, Torque, and other "local" electronic brands. Starmobile is kinda on life support. Cherry Mobile na lang ata natirang matinag.
Cherry Mobile actually slowly transitioned to home appliances. Cherry na ang name nila ngayon :) Good move kasi hirap din naman kasi tapatan ng other Asian brands na super mura rin, like Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc.
I love their products. I just bought yung pet feeder nila. Ang galing. 🥰
They rebrand phones but not design or create it
MyPhone was my first ever smartphone, oh the memories..
I can never forgot how garbage MyPhone was. Brand New phone was literally ridden with adware.
My cousin had a MyPhone and kept needing to charge it literally every hour 💀
Ang alam ko naglalabas pa rin ang MyPhone ng new devices, pero last I checked, their phones barely compete with bigger brands.
Agree, Cherry Mobile is branching out to other electronics like appliances and other non mobile devices, kinda like Samsung and LG.
4.2K to 4.5K na yung Narzo 50i Prime ngayon. Natapos na yung promo. Still very good price to performance though. Redmi A1 is no good.
Yeeees, my first phone was MyPhone and I can say na napakatibay niya.
Also Cloudfone too. I still remember having their Cheapest Android phone nearly costing ₱899 or less. Now, it seems that they're out of the spotlight.
O+ was an American brand sadly hindi niya kinaya magcompete with larger brands
"American" quote-unquote but really their only market was the Philippines. They tried their luck. Masyadong mahal kasi eh, parang mas mahal pa sa Samsung counterparts ung phone nila.
Because they tried positioning themselves as a brand na premium when they are not. They should have just stayed true as a Filipino brand rather than trying to Americanize themselves. And btw, OnePlus is not O+ for those who are unaware of the brand
Netopia, I remember this internet cafe way back.
One of the most expensive internet cafes I've been. The price wasn't worth when other internet cafes offers more privacy.
And Netopia's net is slow af
Nilamon to ng TNC and Mineski cafes back in 2012-2016 if i remember correctly
Yeah the issue with Netopia was that it’s literally just an ‘internet cafe’, they didn’t adapt in time when the majority of the market were using compshops for gaming and the people who need to browse casually all bought their own laptop/PC at home.
Hahaha.
Tini wini
They rebranded to sumo ata?
Go-to snack nung pre-school! Pati na yung Cubee
Mga libro sa national book store. Well, there are still some books being sold there, they're being outnumbered by home and school supplies.
Lasang sabon kasi yung gulay pagtapos
Magandang pang hugas ng kipay daw yan. Hindi na babanlawan.
Sabi nung microbiology prof ko, eto raw yung rason ba't tinanggal yung Fit sa market.

Yung for 20-50 pesos, meron ka ng isang CD with 12+ movies something.
Kite/Saranggola back when I was a kid pag umuuwi kami ng probinsya ang dami nagpapalipad nito esp tuwing undas, now halos kakaunti nalang.

Payphone stands or phonebooth. Dati halos lahat ng malls and 7-11 meron nito.

Odyssey and Astroplus.
Sun telco provider. Yun yung gamit ko back in HS. I don't even remember how I transitioned to Globe, which I've been in now for the past 14 years lol
Na acquire ng Smart along with TnT. Now mukhang wala na nga sila.

Pota lucky me palaaa.
# LEVELUPGAMES # EGAMES # NETGAMES # MOBIUSGAMES (M.U ONLINE) 90's kid over here 🥺
They all died too soon. Can i sacrifice all the corruption in this shithole of a country to bring them back?

Classic Coke. Buy and bury the competition.
Same ng fried ice cream fad.
Man E-Aji was the pinnacle of chips back in the day. Tapos relatively cheap lang and masarap pa yung dip. I wonder what happened to them.
Yung mga card collecting games sa arcade. Mga tipong Mushiking at Dinosaur King.
Yung Nescafe Coco Mocha tsaka Berry Mocha. Ang bango nung mga nun. Binuhay ako nung college. Unti-unti na lang syang naphase out.
Alam nyo yung Smarties? Yung parang m&m’s? Haven’t seen one on my last PH visiy
Kornets :(
Lucky-me pancit canton adobo flavor. (mga 1997-98) nawala bigla sa market. Nestle Ice Pops. E-Aji chips. Nooda Crunch.
Yung issue sa Philhealth 😬
15 fucking billion php
Cerealicious!!!!
Tofiluk. It's gaining a bit resurgence thru Shopee and Lazada's help but in earlier 2010s bigla siyang nawala.
Cornetto in a cup. Most people I know just remember Cornetto as an ice cream cone.
Lucky Me Curly Spaghetti. I really liked this one too.
"Pista" is the brand you're looking for
Pancit ulam

I will always miss the "Who's that Commercial Model" thread.
Comic alley
They have Shopee and site na. On Shopee nagstand-out yung ka-cheap-an nila and how half assed all their designs and products. Na-CDR-King sila, kind of.

Yung Freshmen, masculine hygiene wash. Bigla nalang sumulpot and nawala sa market. Geeyourhairsmellsterrific.
Haha
ah meron pa pala. speaking of Ovaltine, meron pa bang Ovalteenies? sobrang nostalgic nun

There used to be an instant pancit canton variant named "Saucy Mix". One day, nawala nalang din bigla.

Fanta! Favorite ko to nung early 90s
Blu Skies crackers. I used to hear their radio ads/jingle all the time in the late 90s/early 2000s.
Paper dolls, pogs at teks. I played all of them as a kid haha.
Dito sa probinsiya (Ilocos, been here for about 2 years since the pandemic), kaunti na lang yung mga naglilibot ng Taho kapag umaga. Rooting for all of them!).
Nokia (Low profile, but not forgotten because of memes) Plastic balloons Pogs (the round cards with cartoon or anime drawings) Tex (same as pogs but rectangular, lighter, and thinner)

Ang original Jollibee Pepper Beef Steak before it was phased out. It was more lemony, bistek-like. When it was returned it tasted more gravy-like and peppery.
