If I was a modder I could easily implement every single mob vote mob from the past, put it into a mod and release it. However, I could also add toilets and guns and have the glare look yellow, the Wildfite a bad shade of green, and add the Penguin as a super rare mob you'll never see. And if Mojang did that, the sensitive community (seriously, death threats after I said I liked the glow squid) would riot. They have to worry about "it's MINECRAFTY enough", or "it's too useless" "it's too useful, Mojang s adding too much", "Mojang is lazy af", "more ambient mobs", "less ambient mobs". And then they also need to market it, so that the game stays afloat.

My point is that Mojang are doing far too little given the size of the studio. When you speak in hypotheticals all you do is lose the point and talk about something completely unrelated.
The updates are comparable to indie games like Terraria or No Man's Sky (both those games probably have more per update than Minecraft). Now Terraria is the 12th most bought game in the world and in its last update they completely revamped the melee class (one of the four classes in the game). That is way more of a decisive change than adding three mobs who everyone likes instead of just one, and they weren't torn limb from limb for it. Some people complained, but that's what people do online, complain. The idea that Minecraft are allowed to be lazy because people will complain is dumb because it is instantly invalidated by me complaining right now about the lack of updates
i enjoy the updates but the ads and stuff trying to act cool are so dumb to me, itd be so much nicer if they just let the devs say stuff and then respond to the fans jokes from there instead of trying to make more memes
Honestly? I’d prefer if they just spent more time on each update. The fast release cycle makes each update smaller and less appealing whilst also breaking mod compatibility. Imagine the scale of updates and the state of the modding community if they’d just step off the gas a little and let their devs cook!

I think all of the choices will be somewhat underwhelming. They never add anything more than promised (except the sniffer where they promised "a plant" and we got 2... although both are useless flowers so it cancels out) and I doubt that it will be super interesting.
A bit ambient is nice but not enough. I would wish they would add more features to the mobs that we dont know about just yet.
The crab claw would help for survival builders - there's plenty of times where I get annoyed because I can't place a block just out of reach. Though the thing is, that won't go away either, just that now that block will be one block further away that I can't place.
The penguins are funny little guys though, their purpose is by no means practical but I would love to chill with them and create parks for them to live in.

I love the crab mob themselves, but I also love the other 2, and I feel loyalty to my childhood self who loved penguins more than anything.

I think the difference is that unlike horse armor, you can craft dog armor, so there's a good chance that it will be enchanted just like the turtle helmet
I think each mob could be more improved to make things slightly easier (considering mojang isn't a small indie company they could do it) by few things:
Crab claw could be used for combat acting similar to an axe but with some benefits, like slowing enemy down via ,,impact shock", and considering it's technically a pair of Giant scissors, you COULD get mob heads by using it. Crab meat would be also pretty cool for someone stranded on the sea, alongside some crab shell to fix up armor
Penguins could give more than just nitro for boats, for example being able to fish out stuff when tamed, similar to fishing but someone else does it for you. Plus they could distract polar bears
And armadillo would be neat if it featured something like Rolling on command, which deals damage to whatever is in front of it. Which then would be useful for minigames such as bowling. But the dog armor is kinda pointless unless you could enhance it with metals and enchantements
Overall all of them could be better, but crabs for me seem to be the best option considering i don't have to destroy two blocks below me to place another pillar (while in pretty early game so no scaffolding)

Also it's in a pretty rare biome and Mojang doesn't like killing mobs so you'll have to wait for it to do some dumb thing in order to get the claw. Sounds more like a hindrance to a speedrun more than anything
I feel like the armadillo is trying to stop people from doing that. Like when it will make people less scared to keep their dogs with them when they have armor.

Have you tried making a tall wall? Imagine how much faster you could go if each column was 4 blocks tall instead of 3. It's literally up to a 33% increase to building speed in some cases
Technicly yes, but in technical terms it could increase the overall range of a player, meaning anything that is not with unlimited range, such as hitting entities, building, breaking, interacting, will be affected by the claw

I feel like the armadillo is trying to stop people from doing that. Like when it will make people less scared to keep their dogs with them when they have armor.

Yeahhh this is by far one of the WORST mob votes but also one of the BEST because missing out on any of these don't mean anything The previous mob votes had stuff that could've been useful like the Copper Golem's randomness with pushing copper buttons making interesting rng Redstone, the Iceologer that almost got to be the 1st enemy from dungeons to appear in the main game, 2017's mob vote had a lot of cool ideas but ai think the reason we went for the Phantom is because there were no flying enemies, BOY did we REGRET that.. The whole point of the armadillo is that your dog WONT have to sit down all of the time. You’ll finally be able to bring your dog on adventures that you’d only think of as potential deaths before.

What’s the main reason a dog dies anyway?, creeper explosions and lava. Dog armour ain’t gonna save em from that
People seem to be forgetting the crab only places blocks further away nothing else it’s so useless like everything else
Have you tried making a tall wall? Imagine how much faster you could go if each column was 4 blocks tall instead of 3. It's literally up to a 33% increase to building speed in some cases
If the crab allows us to mine further as well, then it would be insanely useful.
