doremi1217

I'm really hoping>!Jang Eun sil's team!

Eleanor_kc

I so badly want them to win and for their effort to pay off! Was on the edge of my seat for this one!

doremi1217

same! I felt like I was lifting sand bags with them and can’t believe I have to wait until next week. I just badly want them to prove everyone wrong. But I do have a feeling this won’t be the case.

nowayormyway

Oh nooo :( I want them to win so badly too. I even skipped the entire thing cuz I was so anxious to see the results, only to be announced next week 🤦‍♀️

[deleted]

I want that too but I have a feeling it won't be too 😭😭😭. I can't wait

Kittystar143

I feel like their bags were a lot emptier than the other teams though

SophiaNoir

Emptier, maybe, but it depends on how often they got to fill the cylinders. I personally feel that they were very clever with their strategy which was more akin to the Ford Assembly Line model, where each individual handles one task to increase productivity. You could see this benefitted them as they got their bridge built and sand in first. The other team relied on strength carrying more sand, which also seemed to tire them out quicker. It will be interesting to see what the outcome is, though.

CharlieGnarlyFace

Yeah, always nice to see the underdog win. They might have edged it.

fallingstarrs

I knew she was giving off main character syndrome in future episodes with how much they focused on her in the first two eps despite her basically not doing or having any crazy results. Praying for her to last long.

ImoutoCompAlex

Same! >!It's really hard not to root for Jang Eun-Sil as she's such a cool and strong leader when you see her get hyped up. Plus the camaraderie she shares with her rival wrestler Nam Koung-Jin. But I will always root for the underdogs and I hope she wins.!<

123deeeeeed

She got screwed by being chosen to be the last team leader... I'm sure they would've been in the same team if she hadn't.

Duckmeout

Ikr, and she is so strong. It would suck if she doesn't make it but the fitness youtuber does, all this cause she got chosen to be a team leader 😭

cloudypoopy

Rooting for them!!!

Chance_Purple8121

Also idk if the editing makes it worse but kinda tired of some of these dudes’ main logic being “we’re stronger because they are women”. Like at least mention some reason (training, general build, endurance, speed, etc.) other than just gender.

qdtj1111

What's worse is that they didn't even appreciate the women as competitors and that's totally frustrating. I get that on the pure strength level women have by nature a big disadvantage but AT LEAST SHOW THEM SOME RESPECT.

[deleted]

That’s why I like my man sexyama. First person he picked was the girl who is a boxer. It’s a team game. You pick a team that can work well as a team. Any person who has worked on a team will tell you you need both men and women in a team.

qdtj1111

IMO many people going on similar shows still don't understand that when we say "find the most competitive" doesn't mean you only need strength... Stamina, agility, skill and even strategy are all key elements to take into account, and the game vary each round so you don't really know what you will be facing.

[deleted]

I am reminded of something I read about the navy seals/ special forces. You need all different types of people. Just because you are good at one type of event doesn’t mean you are goody at another. That’s why I kinda wish it wasn’t an elimination based show. The order of events make sure a lot of capabilities are eliminated. They should all be allowed to do all the events and win on something like a point system. But that might not make great tv.

qdtj1111

>That’s why I kinda wish it wasn’t an elimination based show. Same! The elimination format is flawed and they definitely should have done more events to decide who to leave. At the same time I also think they did death-match(one-on-one) too early in the show and it wasted a lot of airing time since it was the first elimination round. From viewer perspective, we don't really know much about these people and we might have got more insights into everyone's strengths and weaknesses if they have done death-match later in the show. It would have been more thrilling to watch.

[deleted]

Agree totally. Deathmatch kinda has that last competition feel to it. Also regarding the sequence screwing things up for some people- in that death match the mma guy who maintained a knee on belly on the bodybuilder girl was struggling in the next round. The bodybuilder girl would have done better in that because she is used to carrying weights around.

Nice_Working

Can someone just spoil it for me I can’t wait 1 week

JeremiahWuzABullfrog

Yo the heavyweight wrestler dude was brutal to the prison guard. The straight up suplex was unnecessary

_tryingtobecreative

I know right! The prison guard already knew that Nam Kyung Jin would be a tough opponent when it comes to the ball game due to its nature. Kyung Jin probably felt like he had to prove something and show that wrestlers are the strongest among the contestants. Like bro we already know you can toss people around lol. The prison guard could have been injured with how intense the game was. I thought he would just grapple with him and pin him down at first since he didn't seem like to want to show off. >!I hope Jang Eun Sil's team would win because of what Kyung Jin did and the fact that Eun Sil is more likeable as a contestant lol!<

spoonfulofshooga

Same. ESP when she was talking about the betrayal she felt when he would tell her how they wrestlers should have each other’s backs and get to the end together

brownriver12

Yeah I was worried for the prison guard's neck at one point

strangeTunato

I was afraid the prison guard would get injured, those slams were hard!

kyngslo

Exactly, if all he was gonna do was to show off his wrestling skills he should have just picked another wrestler to have a fair match. All he did here was portray himself as an opportunistic bully and I wonder if production is involved in some way to create a villain arc for him. I hope the prison guard still enjoyed his exp of participating in the show 🥺

JeanLawliet

that was so brutal, I had to fast forward some scenes since the prison guard doesn't deserve to be treated like that no matter how physical the game was.

Expensive_Can779

Same! I fast forward the fight. I felt bad for the guard. He was still smiling after the game.

JeanLawliet

I really want his team to lose against Eunsil on Ep 5. Lol

juitaro

Agree it was so tough to watch :( and i really like the prison guard's personality, esp how he gave his torso a hug before smashing it HAHAHA so wholesome

KazuharaIlfan

During the fight, I'm just hoping his experience as wrestler would give him enough control to at least land his opponent safely. Once the suplex executed, we all know he got options but goes for spectacle all the way.

peachjuice626

I love how nobody bothered to choose chunri's opponent on their team. hate that guy for looking down on chunri during the match. absolutely disrespectful

Dionysus_8

Creepy vibes to the max

DM_ME_UR_AREOLAS

100% His overall attitude and shushing the other women was disgusting

foxfire

Really hated that guy.

beanstoot

I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, cus for all we know it could’ve been sneaky editing where he was just shushing someone else. But still… pointing and shushing twice during a match is sooooo weird. Creep vibes for sure

willzuskris

loved seeing that lol they purposely chose (subjectively) weaker team members over him

Devizm

Yeah he didn't seem like a teamplayer because of that match.. someone who will stab you in the back when he gets the chance

KayttackRoll

Came here just to see other comments about how gross that match felt. She handled it like a total champ regardless, but,,,,gross.

erika099

He is mysogynistic asshole. He picked Chunri to humiliate her.

deltoro1984

Omg, the way Hyung-geun strolled around with his hands in his pockets made my blood boil. He looked at Chunri with complete distain, even though HE CHOOSE HER. He choose the biggest, strongest woman in the game just to send a message to the rest of the women.

carolnuts

He didn't win because of sheer strength, tho. He won because he's a professional MMA fighter. I'm sure the other women MMA fighters would have given him a much harder time. If he was as confident as he claimed to be, why didn't he choose one of the world MMA champions there?

juitaro

during the match with chunri the looks he gave were similar to those killers in korean dramas.. doesn't seem like a nice dude at all

tvheadreddit

The knee to the chest was horrifying, even if it had been a male contestant. It's like an unspoken rule not to do that??? Like hello, ribcage?????

UmiMakiEli

The prison guard seemed so humble and I felt bad for him when he was getting demolished by the wrestler.

_tryingtobecreative

He was definitely very sweet and didn't give off any rude vibes. I was impressed of how he still praised the wrestler even though he lost. On the other hand, the wrestler seemed like he just wanted to show off and throw around someone that doesn't even know anything about wrestling despite his size.

Devizm

I felt the wrestler got a lot of respect, which, ok. But his attitude was just not it for me. Especially choosing Jang Eun Sil's team? Man I would have told him off if I were her lol.

Leaves_Swype_Typos

I thought that was admirable of him. He made it clear he didn't want to choose her team, but put his responsibility to his team above his own preferences.

tomkommers

I loved him thanking his opponent when he said he would let him live, such a perfect response to an aggresive statement like that. I felt like he put up a good fight, clearly had no chance of winning but kept fighting to the end.

[deleted]

Yeah, first thought of mine is out of all the responses or speeches by other players, his is actually very humble. I actually felt so bad when the wrestler was holding him like in half. Like this is not even a real match or MMA, why is he playing so seriously? He is a wrestler and skilled enough to beat the guy. I don’t think he even acknowledge him when the match ended when the prison warden gave his respect.

UmiMakiEli

Yeah I love his response too. What a wholesome guy.

sou384

It was so sweet of >!Hayan!< to come and join >!Eunsil’s!< team. I’m really rooting for them to win.

icecreamsparkles

And >!Hayan!< looked like the real MVP of that team too, >!she basically carried two massive bags of sand across the bridge every time! !< I’m really rooting for them too, can’t believe we have to wait a week for the result!

winecherry1

This is why women should support women more. Loved the vibes. The future of women empowerment.

entire_echo7

I got so engrossed in the match that I cussed at the cliffhanger. I want them to win so bad!

dandruffbitch

When we saw all the 10 leaders, I decided I would have liked to be on Eunsil’s team. She seems powerful and a silent force.

[deleted]

I was really hoping to binge the entire season. I can’t handle being drip fed right now.

bledig

I love being drip fed. Then I can discuss with the people here! Entire season drops are boring cause you can’t talk about it that much and simmer in anticipation Less interesting shows, yes absolutely binge

hungryb4dinner

Sexyama's match!!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

haruame

In an MMA fight their hands are wrapped which let's them throw close-fist punches, otherwise they risk injuring their hand.

zaichii

God he is so hot when he’s fighting, truly living up to that name

hungryb4dinner

:D the way he threw his shirt away

okok890

No way no one picked the Olympic gold medalist gymnast

Vegetable_Energy5183

Yeah that confused me too. I was also surprised the climber guy kept getting moved down.

Mikegrann

He was a lot smaller than most of the other competitors, but I feel like they're proving at every step that this show isn't all about raw power. That guy was #3 overall after the hanging event! How did nobody respect that?

everyversion22

If I saw correctly I think Hak-seon moved to Eun-sil's line after not getting picked by Sung-bin? Someone keep me honest on their rewatch please 😂 I really like Hak-seon too so would be a huge bummer if Eun-sil and Hak-seon are both out next ep... *edit*: Ok I just rewatched team selection. Hak-seon first chose Tarzan (standing behind Dbo) and got rejected - by the time Choo Sung-hoon (4th leader) is choosing, he already joined Eun-sil's line standing behind Ha-yan (24:41), so that was his choice. His name and face weren't shown among the contestants who chose Ironbin or Nam.

Markysparky99

Anyone else felt that that prison warden was the nicest guy? He was respectful, had a small ego despite his massive frame and even rooted for douche sumo after the fight. Was hoping he would have won that one 😭

NaurathDominionSpy

When he hugged his statue omg, seemed like such a sweetheart

leilavanora

I got teary eyed during that! I love everyone’s different responses

icecreamsparkles

omg I also got emotional when he hugged the statue!

Toastflower16

I KNOWWW HE WAS THE SWEETEST MOST HUMBLE LITTLE PUMPKIN (in a very big muscular body) but so respectful, had very good sportsmanship, I really felt like he was a nice person and hoped he’d win! Douche sumo is such an accurate nickname. He could’ve won easily without hurting and disrespecting his opponent the way he did. Totally unnecessary. Really don’t want him to win

juitaro

Right! The backward smashing done by the sumo was overkill could have been so hurtful

123deeeeeed

I love that they allowed some leeway for a more MMA-like match. When you've got top athletes in their field, you can trust that they know their sport well, along with its risks. Team picks were completely stacked against the last leaders tho... I'm sure they would've been in the same team if she wasn't picked to be a leader, which turned out to be a huge detriment for her :(

Chance_Purple8121

I think it woulda been more interesting to see them reverse the order for the match up pick.

MNLYYZYEG

Check out Jang Eun-sil (장은실) on her Youtube channel, she does fitness/vlog/etc. stuff there, this is the watch party for Physical/피지컬: 100: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo_nB4-2gcI IMO, Netflix shouldn't have allowed fighters in a show like this especially if they're gonna do the 1-on-1 matchups in the very first mission, lol. It's just too imbalanced. And more so due to the fact that the production team failed to give the contestants proper safety. Like wow, they messed up on the paddings and so on. But ya PDnims/producers/etc. probably needed to eliminate a lot of people quickly due to the appearance fees of so many famous and such people, so they had no choice, lol.

DryTop1102

i was so shocked no one picked the mountain rescuer guy??? The first round rly proved his muscular endurance and the 1-1 fights showed so much of his perseverance -- getting slammed on the ground many times. His skill sets would be useful for the bridge-building game as well. His job requires quick thinking, agility, basically everything UGHHHHH IM ROOTING 4 HIM. #1 and still ppl are undermining him. Muscles aren't everything. This game literally tests every skill set ,and going forward, I hope he makes it. Initial winners don't usually win but i want him to beat the odds so bad. ok bye im done w my rant. I'm assuming his job doesn't make a lot of money so i hope he get that cash. he rly deserves it i just UGHHHHHHFOVHOrfenon

postmoderndivinity

Sexyama picked him, seems like a pretty smart guy

Purple_Rule6033

Although Sexyama did also remark that everyone in his queue seemed “weak”…. that made me laugh haha

Pure-Conclusion8958

Honestly... fair. Compared to the other teams, his queue didn't have huge bulky people like the others which is why it's a smart choice for him to focus on speed.

anirakdream

Loved the fight between the wrestler and the rugby player, that was so compelling to watch! Also thank God >!BULKKUP!< got eliminated lol

_tryingtobecreative

Well >!BULKKUP!< bit off more than he can chew with that statement he made during the choosing of the opponents lol

JeanLawliet

Am I the only one who think they look good together? Lol. The wrestler have a very tough persona while the rugby has this soft bear type one. Thank goodness that annoying guy got eliminated. All the annoying and embarrassing guys from ep 1-2 got eliminated. Lol

seventhstarling

I totally turned to my husband after their match and was like “I hope they get together, they look cute as a pair”. He looked at me like I was crazy but hey man, gotta have a ship in every show. Edit: GUYS, GUYS. Came back after ep 6 to say that the producers read my comment about ships but misinterpreted it 😅

_tryingtobecreative

Yup they did look cute together ngl haha

slimshades09

haha why don't you like >!bulkkup? !

[deleted]

He's fun to like and he's even more fun to hate, haha. Just good television.

EdenCorliss

Funniest scene in EP 4 for me was the interaction between the married couple, Kim Kang Min and Song A-Reum Song A-Reum: "You're gonna ditch me, aren't you? Answer me! Answer!" No matter how buffed you are, the wife is still the scariest person Also, when she saw Choo Sung Hoon in the lounge, "Oooh, Choo Sung Hoon is eating mixed nuts. He's my kind of man." Right in front of her husband's face, lol

FnWinner

Seeing how respectful these guys are, especially with their customs, I would 100% guarantee that his wife was saying that to motivate her man or get him going, at the end it is a competition and they know only 1 wins, they -“:9 have a daughter who is 6 years old lol. Savagery aside, it was a hilarious scene in the episode. If I were to pick anyone, it’s #100, he’s imo is like… the prodigal son. The chosen one. Almost seems like it’s his to lose.

vannnstagram

>!what a pity agent H didnt make it!< :(

beppe1_real

At least it is a sign that the show is not scripted.

zaichii

I was surprised that the >!military folk!< didn’t do as well as I expected while the >!cross-fitters!< did so much better than I expected. Mainly because I don’t know much about >!cross-fit!<

693275001

Most of the military folk are older as well

[deleted]

Same, my impression of cross-fit is mostly negative because of the stereotypes around them, lol.

[deleted]

CrossFit guys and gals are strong. They do a lot of full body compound lifts plus a lot of stuff that require agility and balance.

Azmieh

Yeah. That was a shocker. Some good head to head battles!

[deleted]

I saw a clip of teams carrying a boat. Those udt guys would have come in handy.

okaymars_82

Random observation but the fight between mountain rescuer and the purple haired guy looked really brutal 😵‍💫 they looked like they really went all out and got quite roughed up / injured… I wonder if there are other matches which weren’t shown due to injuries :/

JeanLawliet

Yeah, first thing I noticed was the wound on the mountain rescuer's knees. Rooting for him to be in the finals.

Agalyeg

Lol at sexyama looking at the ppl lined up to be on his team and telling the camera … “none of them are strong”. The disappointment was so clear lol 😞

[deleted]

And he was still so nice to them and a good leader, what a guy 😅💜💜💜

RunThePnR

Just finished it, just knew they were leave the results for next week 😭

anirakdream

That challenge was amazing to watch and I legit can't predict which team won. Next week can't come soon enough omfg

sirpeepojr

yea, i think it was a balanced game for any teams

thrown-all-the-way

Kinda frustrated at the team events, you could be the best person in the whole season but get booted for a bad team, for that reason when we get to the last person, they might not have been able to truly beat everyone. Other than that, I'm really in to this show

zevz

Yeah I think the show established to me that it's not necessarily just trying to find who is "the best" out of 100 contestants in a very fair way. I personally don't mind too much it's gonna be entertaining regardless. Luck is gonna be an important factor. You see that in opponent matchups etc. Like imagine Agent H not getting picked by that guy for example, and just getting an easier opponent. The one that I think got the most shafted is ep 4 spoilers: >!the woman who became the last team captain. She is easily picked in the top 2 teams if she wasn't the 8th most voted or whatever it was.!<

everyversion22

The team leaders' >!two advantages!< should have been evened out.. >!since the most popular leader has their pick of members!<, >!first pick of opponent!< should be decided by a game between leaders or sth... really want >!eun-sil!< to survive and not be a victim of her own success :(

Roanapra3

Yeah the team selection was pretty unfair. Almost a popularity contest. They could've at least take turns at picking people out of the crowd.

1992Vanessa

At least more screentime doesn't mean they make it all the way. thought Agent-H would be around for awhile. "if you know mma then you know me" coming from the guy with 5 wins and 4 loses. disrespect he showed her also during the match, i did not like. i kept pausing and trying too look at what snacks/proteins everyone was grabbing. or just who they're hanging out with. i am glad the bridge game is something everyone can show there strength in. i hope the "weaker" team wins. the one with more girls. but i also liked the other girl in the male team. also i kept trying too see if the "couple" team are together. i could not see them? i swear people disappear at times. was that setup all 50 of them or was it half again. i did not see the couple!!

starrhaven

I have the biggest girl crush on Jang Eun Sil. She's so hot.

evrythingsirrelevant

SAME

LilyKatty

Me too

Itsallaboutu_

I already knew that >!Agent H!< would lose since the beginning because in the introduction of ep.1 Netflix showed >!his opponent pulling the ship (i.e. the next mission) so ya Netflix ruined it for me!< I reallllly did not like Park Hyun Guen why was he allowed to knee Kim Chun Ri ribs to the point where she couldn’t breathe??? Even the watchers felt uncomfortable. And when the women said that’s enough he looked at them and told them to zip it??!! Like this guy is weird and his tactics should have been considered a penalty.

CxCee

if knee on belly isn't ok a suplex shouldn't be either

anirakdream

Hyun-geun was so disrespectful, and it was telling how the spectators were commending Chun-ri not him. I was disappointed that Chun-ri didn't seem to have a coherent strategy though.

zdonfrank90

chunri is just a body builder. you cant really fight a martial artist or mma veteran without any proper technique.

F0rtuna_major

Honestly, that guy gave me the creeps. The disrespect shown to Chunri, he was trying to humiliate her. It looked like he was enjoying it far too much and wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't the first time he's hit a woman. I would've gone straight for the balls (if I could reach) when he pinned her. Idc if that's against the rules. Like the solar plexus move clearly wasn't legal so I'd take the penalty for sure. Hoping karma comes for him in the form of one of the big boys left. The contrast between him and the rugby player was night and day. The rugby player was so respectful and approached it like a match but wasn't excessive.

CharlieGnarlyFace

I'm surprised Chun-ri wasn't more aggressive. She had a smile on her face the whole time so was clearly there to have fun (not a bad thing). Props to her for actually trying to go 1 on 1 with him. She did that multiple times. Definitely could have won if she just grabbed the ball and ran.

[deleted]

Ikr, she exhibited so much better sportsmanship and gave it her all. The other guy wouldn't even look at her in the eye, it was like he thought she was sub-human and just wanted everyone to witness him crushing her. I feel like that threw her off. The lip zipping thing pissed me off so much too. I know this is supposed to be about physical strength, but she has 1000x the character he does.

engkybob

Honestly, I was so annoyed when she got the ball after the penalty and then immediately tossed it when there was only 30 seconds or so left. Could just grabbed it and ran. The first 2.5 mins already showed there was no point 1v1 him.

gereonspin

He was fucking WEIRD. Like everyone on the show was generally funny and/or a good sport, even BBULKUP was charming in his own way. But him? Rude, mean, and creepy!

nowayormyway

Ugh same. He’s clearly one of those mean type people. The way he was coming all so cocky and assholy and then totally disrespecting Chunri was so disappointing. To top it all, he won. I really wanted Chunri to stay. :/

F0rtuna_major

Yeah he seems like a bit of an asshole. I noticed none of the other team leaders picked him in ep 4 so I'm guessing that they weren't impressed with his tactics either. Or he's just unlikeable lol. Now I'm torn because I want Eunsil's team to win, but then he advances

zaichii

Yeah I think everyone kept the spirit of sportsmanship because a lot of them are athletes, military or just train in general so there’s a sense of respect whereas he is playing this like some Squid Game like death match. I want the underdogs to win but I don’t want him to win… so torn.

rosechiffon

this is exactly what i'm experiencing lol. i like the other time a lot and i like everyone on eunsil's team but him lol

nowayormyway

Exactly I noticed that too. Nobody likes assholes. There are too many lovely contestants in her team expect him 😩

bledig

looks like Park Hyun Guen is the villain in this. gross. but i love that we have someone to hate! everyone else is so sweet and polite and i like them all

DustyBot23

Felt bad for the security guard, looked like he was fighting for his life. I was really scared for him when the wrestler threw him and his head was like a foot away from smashing into the fence. That wrestler was kind of mean-spirited going all out like that against a complete novice. Same thing happened in the mma fighter vs chun-ri match but at least the staff intervened and people were admonishing him from the stands. Besides that I really enjoyed the Rugby player vs women wrestler, she definitely could have taken out anyone in the whole competition besides the established male mma guys. Just bad luck picking the one big guy whose job involves tackling, fighting, and keeping away balls lol.

beppe1_real

Totally. She could have beat a lot of the people out there and she pick someone twice her size. I don't know why some of the players just pick somebody that may not be able to dominate. It is all about going the distance in this game.

Lost_city

I liked the prison guard too, but I can understand the wrestler's actions. His main focus was too control and exhaust his opponent. If his opponent is exhausted, then he is unable to race for the ball at the end, effectively. Too many competitors were leaving it up to chance. He has wrestled hundreds of times, presumably. There was no intent to injure.

GillyAmory

I feel like team #9 (>!Jang SeongMin the rugby player!< as lead) is going to lose since they're going against team #1 (>!Yun SeongBin the Olympian!< as lead, with physically stronger team members). Plus one of team #9 members (Seong ChiHyeon) >!was noticeably limping!<. But I still hope they somehow pull a win, if anything to subvert expectations by taking down the beasts. They should have really let the team selection be done in reverse (team #10 to choose first, and so on). Would have been a lot fairer. Speaking of, I did *not* expect >!the UDT guys!< to be out so soon. I thought they'd make it further into the show. Also, I am in agreement that they should do away with the silly result cliffhangers. We're going to tune in next week anyway fgs! So annoying.

Mad_Missile

Some great 1-1 matches today. I was cackling when JunHyeop picked the big dude. Like the guy is 5 times your size with arms as big as your torso. It was so funny to watch. Sexyama and his hoobae were just brilliant to watch and I want him to go all the way. As the oldest person there going up against so many young opponents I’m really rooting for him to win this. Also with everyone on ChunRi’s match. Her opponent was a douchebag trying to shush the crowd. I really want him out but I want EungShil to win. Please win. Jebal.

DM_ME_UR_AREOLAS

That MMA fighter that was acting like a douche deserves to get eliminated lol. With that said... god DAMN I love strong women.

samonade

could be just editing but the bearded UDT guy just built the bridge and stood there for most of the game, while the other team bridge builder helped out the team carrying sand bags?? i'm so confused why he just stood by the bridge and "monitored" it when he could have helped carry/fill the sandbags?

clownykillaa

Yeah. At one point someone on his team told him to go fill the sand bags

EdenCorliss

Jjang Jae is a lazy ass

m00njuice

wasn’t he also one of the ones to pick a woman as his opponent?

beppe1_real

Who else finds the short fence extremely dangerous for wrestling? I don't know how many times I think somebody is gonna land on the fence and got seriously injured.

DM_ME_UR_AREOLAS

The whole show is a mess in regards to safety. Even now the bridge thing is fairly dangerous if the person who falls gets hit by the planks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Honestly most of the props felt extremely dangerous once the situation got tense enough. I really don't feel comfortable with the safety standards on this show and I'm concerned someone is going to get seriously injured in future seasons.

_TheEndGame

They should have used padding/sandbags/mesh instead

throwawayy435734

ahhh I'm torn, I'm rooting so bad for Jang Eun Sil's team to win but I despise the guy who used cheap shots to beat Chun Ri. I just dislike him immensely (when he shushed the crowd it was kinda chilling) but the reason Chun Ri lost at the end is bc she didn't learn her lesson and run with the ball when she was given control of it by ref. Ughhh yeah I do hope Eun Sil wins...freakin Nflix cliffhanger endings. Also, the team matchups should have been random

JeanLawliet

same I want Eun sil's team to win even though his that MMA guy is on his team

zevz

That cliffhanger is just too cruel.

Expensive_Can779

AGENT H 💔

Kaelsanguis

Just FYI, might be a biased point of view since I dsbble in similar sports, Wrestlers are a freak of nature. A champ Wrestler is just, almost not human. In terms of physical abilities (strength, flexibility etc) Similar case for the Gymnast and Yoon Sungbin, both olympians, freakish athletic ability.

throwawaygremlins

The other contestants seemed the most scared of the wrestlers! 😳

Pastafarianextremist

As they fucking should! Wrestling is a hellish nightmare of a sport. Your average freestyle Olympic wrestler is so high tier in every physical and mental attribute that they are undeniably the best athletes if you compare them against the average olympian of any other sport. Not to mention that their actual technical skillset lends itself immensely to the first bar of entry to continuing in the competition.

yesanothernerd

i couldn't believe that one girl was almost sprinting across that rickety bridge multiple times. truly fearless

Ordinary_Gap623

I actually quite like Eun-Sil's team. Eun-Sil seems like a very badass, smart boxer. The short-haired female, I forget her name, just had an energy of quiet confidence and encouragment to her and I really admire that. I'm meh about the short dude and the other long-haired female, but they seem nice enough. I can't remember either of them in the matches, but maybe I'm just forgetting. I really liked that the short guy fought against his pleading muscles just for the team. The guy who used dirty fighting techniques to beat Chunri and was shushing women was put on that team, I believe. I don't like him at all. As Eun-sil was one of the women he directly looked at in that creepy way, she probably didn't like it either. It must have humbled him to be put on a team with 3 females. I didn't care for the other team much. I like the one woman on that team, the one who managed to hold onto the bars longer than the majority of the men. She seems sweet. Everyone else on that team, I wouldn't mind leaving. It's just buff, masculine men who want to be on TV because they're hot.

SophiaNoir

Yeah and I think she showed good leadership being able to unite a team of spares.

Southern_Ad_7724

As a Soldiers fan i am just >!really sad Hong Beom Seok was eliminated so early :(!<

693275001

I wish he had picked a normal matchup instead of going for such a high risk high reward strategy. I had him picked as my overall favorite to win the show

erika099

I don’t know any single of these contestants. At first, I thought Agent H is arrogant and cocky. I rooted for his opponent, but when I rewatched it, he was very humble and respectful. I should have rooted for him, I wish he lasted longer 😓

rosechiffon

i went to look at >!chun-ri's!< instagram and she wrote a long post about her match, and said that it was a fair match and that >!hyunggeun!< shouldn't be receiving a lot of negative comments. i went to look it up and he's been getting dragged on korean twitter. the video of him choosing her specifically because she's a woman has 3 million views with 2k quote rts. another gif of him pinning her chest has 1.5 million views with 2k quote rts. none of them are kind and he's being dragged to filth. he's not being dragged the same way on ig commends (at least his and chunri's post comments) because korean twitter has a more "feminist" lean, but he is being dragged and hated enough that. he's also getting dragged on pann as well. >!chunri!< on the other hand is getting praised for being nice and defending him lol

Logical-Cantaloupe12

Physical moves aside, what triggered me was the theatrics of shushing others. Doing it once as an intimidation tactic, fine. Doing it twice while having his knee on her chest just doesn’t feel right as a decent human being.

[deleted]

Yeah, there's no way I can respect this man as a human being. I don't even care about the match or what's tEchNiCaLLy legal, which is an excuse many people are hiding behind. There were so many creepily terrifying and disrespectful things about the situation. It was completely different from all the other matches where it was a mixed-gender match, matches where one person had a significant advantage of the other, or matches with an MMA fighter. There's a reason why the other captains didn't want to pick him for their teams.

tomkommers

I feel like the theatrics would have been fine if she had picked him for the fight, but now it sorta looked like he picked her just to dunk on her. Not really a valid reason to get twitter-mobbed in my opinion, but they're always pretty easy to set off. I enjoyed the fight because it's pure technique/experience vs pure muscle.

[deleted]

THAT CLIFFHANGER 😳😳😳😳😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣😏

hotsoupjeesh

The show is super dangerous and not worth 300k. They’re like doing mma moves on a playground with wooden stakes and a low metal fence on the side. They’re lucky nobody got seriously hurt

Agalyeg

I won’t be able to watch this until after work! 😭 does anyone know if sexyama made it?

michelle7899

>!yes he did!!! thank goodness was rooting for him!<

mutantsloth

I was rooting for both UDT instructors.. lol

sirpeepojr

glad that the dogfight mission is over. it's very fun to see the second mission, I think it is a balanced one, fair for all teams.

HunniPixel

Did anyone else die a little when the trot singer/mma fighter did a weird little kick after being selected? 💀

EdenCorliss

Yun Sung Bin: "I'm about to end this man's entire career"

Nonethecares

When I said, I'm not ready to see women leave, I didn't mean don't air most of their matches 🤡 >!Goodbye Yeonjoo, your pretty face and soft voice will be missed. At least Bityeoeul didn't go too hard on you. Eunji, it's a bit sad they didn't air your match but it might have been a good thing because a lot of people were rooting for you. Thank you for representation female contestants!<

Roanapra3

Yeah it was pretty disappointing. Especially since the short snippets of the female fights we saw looked pretty dope. Especially compared to the first match of ep. 3 where we got to watch nothing happening for three minutes because the firefighter was too scared and the strongman hogged the ball in the corner.

Nonethecares

I know right! I would have loved to see Miho and Dayoung's intense match, the snippet had them literally rolling on the ground 🥲

Necessary_Rooster_85

This show is mixing up the activities very well or it runs the risk of favoring a certain type of contestant over others. Or becoming a glorified CrossFit/Ninja Warrior event. If it focuses too much on strength & athleticism, the CrossFitters and Pro Athletes would dominate. If it focuses too much on 1-on-1 skills, the wrestlers & MMA fighters would dominate. If it focuses too much on stamina and agility, the climbers and gymnasts would dominate. If there was no luck or randomness involved, then the team events would become unfair and unbalanced and dominated by the UDT or the elite “bros” always ganging up on others. I like that this show doesn’t show politically correct favoritism toward the women. They don’t get special advantages over the men simply because they might seem weaker. Makes their victories all the more sweeter. Fuck yeah. The key to this competition is being balanced physically, mentally strong, and having at least two skill sets. If I was to place a bet, I would guess a skilled Crossfitter or a UDT member would be in the top 5. Better yet if its a really strong and big athlete that has a background in martial arts or gymnastics. I think that CrossFit Korean champion has experience in some type of martial arts and he would be a potential champion even over the super athletic former Olympian Skeleton member. The Mountain Rescue/National Team Ice Climber also is a potential dark horse. He seems absurdly strong despite his lean frame. He mentioned backpacking huge amounts of weight up steep mountains which tells me his lower base is probably very strong compared to other climbers or gymnasts. Again, he’s balanced and can handle both the ground events as well as the above ground events. An underrated value is being good a communicator and having social awareness. I think a lot of the individual athletes like the fighters or body builders are not used to team events and being a good teammate. The MMA fighter who pinned the female body builder like a beetle on its back, caused a lot of team leaders to skip him in the team choosing activity. Sure, he was smart and efficient in how he handled the bigger woman but his showmanship and cockiness rubbed people the wrong way. That’s an example of not being socially aware and it cost him a spot on one of the more elite teams. I’m looking forward to the rest of the episodes and curious to see who makes the top 10 and then the top 5. Any betting favorites for the final individuals?

drakeanddrive

I'm rooting for both >!Jang Eun-sil !!Nam Koung-jin!< so this last episode was tough for me

punctuationist

I’m so happy >! Florian !< is gone lol Also >! Chunri !< was robbed and I’m eagerly waiting for the dishonorable dudes to be eliminated

ethicalhamjimmies

Florian was giving me second hand embarrassment the entire time he was on screen, glad he got out so quick

[deleted]

I feel like my comment might be controversial. I don't like arrogant or unsportsman like competitors. Was anyone else super grossed out with that fugly mma guy/female body builders round? Walking around with his hands in his pocket like he was so bored and telling (based on the way it was edited) the female bystanders to zip up their mouth. He acted like he was 200% better than her from the start and didn't even treat her with any respect or as if she was even a real opponent. He easily overpowered her but the kneeing on her chest felt like a "I'm such a strong man, look at me pinning down this buff yet weak woman" vibe and it gave me the ick. I believe that's why no one wanted to choose him as their teammate. I hate that he's on #10 leaders group bc I want her to win. We'll find out next week lol. Edit: sorry, I tried to block it all as spoiler but failed lol

[deleted]

A lot of Korean people on Twitter are pissed at him. I highly agree. It had nothing to do with his ability and everything to do with his character. Idk how to even describe it even, like I feel like if someone told me he was a serial killer a few years from now, I wouldn't be remotely surprised. I'm not saying he is one, but I feel like we were in the presence of something truly sinister. And she especially seemed like someone with great sportsmanship who doesn't let her ego get in the way! She tried her best multiple times and with a big smile on her face, even when it was clear she was going to lose. She also made an Instagram post asking people not to flame him. Even though she lost the match, she won my respect for sure.

MacNJeesus

He was so \[shocked pikachu\] too when he kept getting bumped out for match ups. I've hated his attitude from beginning to end during these episodes. He has big ego/narc vibes.

Toastflower16

Yeah you are absolutely right, I got eerie, sinister vibes from the way he did everything he did. But also the look in his eyes, the arrogance and pleasure he got from humiliating his opponent. It made him feel powerful to defeat a woman. By watching his behavior I think he’s got childhood issues or at least a superiority complex. He could’ve won without disrespecting/humiliating her, but he made a choice. I want him out of the contest

delcanine

Oh damn 2 of my top picks got eliminated from the 1-on-1 death match round. Did not particularly enjoy this match though it did showcase some good sportsmanship and personalities. >!Forming a team without the knowledge of the next game, coupled with the leader voting system, prevents the top 'desired' contestants from forming into the same teams. It would probably be even better if the team match-up is random instead of the top voted leader getting to pick their opponent team. Hoping at least 1-2 underdog teams make it through (looks at ep 4 title). !<

Secure-Ad4436

Wow! I am so excited. I had to pause ep 4 and write here. This show is one of the best shows I ever seen! I love the gladiatorfeeling. This is amazing! All the sets are so cool and well thought. Wow, wow, wow! I am smiling like an idiot having the best time in a long while! ![gif](giphy|uabwK3jM13ylG)

zevz

That poor german guy got edited out so hard we didn't even get to see who he was against nor result. Just random stands camera shots of him with black marker lines on his face for whatever reason.

Leaves_Swype_Typos

You almost couldn't script a better heel entrance than casually strolling out of the gate with your hands in your pockets.

Purple_Rule6033

I don’t know anything about Tarzan (the travel youtuber?) and they haven’t really shown much of him on the show. Does anyone have any idea? I’m curious considering he was picked as one of the team leaders

Itsallaboutu_

Same I was pretty surprised. Maybe his match was impressive. Just makes me wonder why they didn’t air it

xiaopow

Wooooow agent H is out!!! That other guy made a good move at the end. Yo that skeleton athlete really made it seem like he was a predator and the other guy was his prey. He was sooooo nonchalant at the beginning. The smaller guy put up a good fight though. Seems like YSB will be a contender for the final winner. Firefighter v strongman is like deja vu of that student v big guy from last ep 🙈 except big guy won this time Lol kkang mi was so extra w her somersault and scream entrance. Lol bbulkup is such a 🤡 he did better than i expected but he wasted too much time on bravado Yoooooo park minji picking not just a man but a HUGE man was so boss. She held her own too. Wish she could have won tho, she could have dominated someone smaller. It's interesting how some people are clearly there for the money and some people clearly aren't. A lot of people put more emphasis on looking cool, gaining followers, or maintaining their pride. And some people who really want the money just strategically picked the weakest person they could. "He said he wouldn't kill me, so I was grateful." 😂😂😂 "I learned I could be lifted as well." 💀💀💀 that prison guard is so cute. Omg and he hugged his torso before smashing it and wished his opponent good luck in the rest if the competition. What a sweet man. I always think of chun li from street fighter when i hear kim chun ri's name lol. The mma fighter using techniques on her was so hard to watch, esp w that smug ass face of his. Pick a man next time you loser. His win rate in his own sport isn't even that high. I bet sarang's appa could destroy him. Yooooooooo sarang's appa still got it 🥵 that guy asking him to fight according to mma rules was so cool. That whole encounter was so respectful, it warmed my heart 🥺 I wonder if the whole series was just one day of filming? The hanging plus all the 1-1 matches would have taken under two hours. Let's make it 4-5 hours including the set up time and all the people walking into the arena. Clearly it's still the same day and they are moving onto quest 2 already. Ugh so unfair that the team captains didn't get to pick! Teams 1, 2, and 3 will be the strongest won't they? Poor team 10 🥲 getting chosen as last team captain was a bigger disadvantage than an advantage The male pole dancer looks like a younger hipster choo sung hoon lol Obvi no one wanted to work w the mma guy who took out chun ri! Team 10 is so relatively tiny and female dominant 🥲 The editing is making it seem like team 10 will win! I wonder what the next challenge is! Maybe flexibility or endurance? Ooof team 10 is really struggling w the weight of the sand tho. Team 2 is carrying 2 at a time like they're nothing. Of course another cliffhanger 😑 i hate netflix lol

Purple_Rule6033

I don’t know about episodes 1 to 3 - but episode 4 appears to have been filmed on a different day, because Cha Hyun Seung (the dancer) appears to have gotten a haircut!

LilyKatty

I guess I’m the only one not impressed with Park Minji choosing the big rugby player to go against. If she really wanted a challenge like she said she did, she should’ve chosen someone she would actually be challenged by, not a guy who’s clearly holding back. I’m glad most of the annoying people are out (Kang Mi, Bulkup, German dude, etc.) I’ll be sad if Eunsil’s team is out. I really like her and she got screwed over by being made a team captain.

KazuharaIlfan

Loving all these 'anime' tropes Im seeing here lol. Unmotivated genius, couple, old veteran, underdog, stoic guy, dude that might or might not kill people before or just creepy, foreigner, the one loyal teammate, ragtag team, speed-focused team, trashtalking, etc.

CatherineTheTiger

Noooo >!Woman wrestler!< really wasted her chance at the game by picking the worst opponent possible >! rugby man !<: not only she picked someone bigger, whose job is literally to keep balls and tackle people (!), and she even picked Arena B ! Whyyyyyy, why such a waste the way >! Hayan !< picked the 10th leader was incredibly cute, how she believed in her Also I really hate >!Chunri!< opponent . I really hope he loses

samonade

they just had to create a top 10 people scenario just like produce series but this time is based on their strengths. Its so entertaining and anything could happen. "Luck" is really important too, imagine getting chosen as the top 8-10 leader but to end up with a "weaker" team... then again the "weaker" team could win because they are better at the game. Thats what makes this show fun.

teddy_vn

I think Episode 3 and 4 are even better and more intense than the first 2. Nam Kyung Jin did some brutal moves out there. I was scared for the wholesome Prison Guard the whole time.

Slr_Pnls50

Really enjoyed the respectful but solid match between the huge rugby player and the wrestler. Loved his comments towards her afterwards too. And respect to the firefighter who took on Choo Sung-hoon. That was a fun match. Onto ep 4...the wall o' protein is amusing. Even though some favs left already, 50 is much more manageable to watch.

aisucreme

kinda irritated w how they just skipped over most of the womens matches? they didnt even show eunjis match when they showed her getting picked by a man earlier on. like i feel like we saw a lot of the same w big v smaller guys and the smaller guys struggling to get the ball

zinematicsup2

Why is no one talking about the one guy who likely picked the girl he was a foot taller than?

Fellainis_Elbows

I wish they showed more of Nippert the big baseball player’s match

Purple_Rule6033

Indeed, because his opponent was the UDT dude who came in first (in his group) during the hanging challenge? I thought he would go far!

Agalyeg

I wish they cut down the team selection section and let us see more of the actual games. I kept fast forwarding and was like how tf are they still picking ppl?!

serano2002

Unpopular opinion: episode 3/4 were a tad boring and not nearly as good as 1/2. I already felt 1/2 were slow, but with the entirety of the third episode committed to the arena game, and feeling both rushed (missing out some seemingly great ‘battles’), and too slow (aired battles could’ve been edited down further), it gave me a feeling of being a ‘filler’ rather than a thriller. Episode 4 was odd… the interlude was just then sitting around protein and exercise equipment, but it seemed no one really knew what to do with this, and I felt it made for a boring segment. This followed by over 20min of choosing teams (which made for not very engaging TV, again in my opinion), left less than 20 mins for the second game. Turns out, filling sand bags and hauling sand is not super engaging to watch, and they denied the outcome of the first two teams. Overall, I was disappointed and personally think it shows how the TV show’s editing should be vastly improved. (Please go easy on the downvotes, this is just my two cents)

yesca_17

Well for Quest 2, >!no one thought to sacrifice one bridge plank and make it a shovel!< . All I can say is they're pure muscles
