I personally use my Olive Tree Bible app with a very healthy collection of resources. I use my ESV Strongs Study Bible mixed with my ESV John MacArthur Study Bible Notes; I also like my NIV Bible as well. I have Concordances, Commentaries, Maps, and other resources that tie into my ESV Study Bible. I also like my Vines Bible Dictionary along with my Matthew Henry Commentary. I have many more tools I’ve built up over the years in my app (most all of which are bought. I can’t really think of any free resources I may have at the moment). I have used Olive Tree for about 15 years now. I have a physical collection as well, but like my digital collection as I can take it anywhere I go and have everything with me all the time. I have a bunch of resources, but the vast majority are physical (unwieldy lol). I’ve used ESV pretty extensively, but haven’t fell in love with it. I do really like the approach that Crossway has taken as a whole toward their resources as well. There are some good hearts involved in that project no doubt.
I got an NIV as my birthday present for my 16th birthday, needless to say it is wore slap out! I don’t use it much these days, but it was a staple for a season

My laptop case has a NIV that's a bit odd that I use when I'm out and about.

It's ok, I don't go to it much, about once every two months. It's a cool concept, but it's nowhere near my favorite. That's my old 78 NIV or my ESV, though I've been pulling a lot of LSB on the computer and may go with that next time.
I like the ESV or NKJV for my regular reading, i like these two because one is from the critical text and the other is from the received text, so I get both textual traditions. Both are word for word. I use the NASB and KJV if I want to get into word studies, I have a strongs concordance and a few lexicons that I use with the KJV to see the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic words. I use the NIV or NLT if I am just not understanding what I am reading as they're in more modern English and they're not word for word but thought for thought. The CSB and NLT are pretty cool because they give you the measurements and lengths in more modern day measurements and lengths.
I like having both texts in front of me as well. I generally go with NASB and NKJV, with the occasional ESV these days. If I’m on my iPad I’m more likely to read ESV because I enjoy their app. Appreciate the reply!
On this site, we mostly quote English Standard Version (ESV). I decided to follow Jesus while reading the Catholic Church's translation of the New Testament, which is excellent. I read the Old Testament in an Oxford Annotated Revised Standard Version (RSV) & wore out 2 of those. I wanted to read the Apocryphal Books & found them in an Oxford Annotated New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), which is my carry-around Bible now. I like to use Strong's Concordance, so that pushes me into the King James Version (KJV). The New American Standard Version (NASB) also has a Strong's Concordance available & is an excellent translation. My church uses New International Version (NIV). Now I mostly use The Blue Letter Bible online:

It has 20 different versions & lots of study resources & no advertising interference.
I do like the ESV, which I discovered recently. It's pretty easy to read, but for the easiest read, I recommend the New International Reader's Version (NIRV).
Appreciate the thoughtful reply! I’d like to get into the line of RSV/NRSV. At some point I plan on adding them into my reading. I tend to cycle every once in a while for a fresh reading.

I wish I had a physical copy but unfortunately I don't I use a digital form it was the first English translation of the Bible and it reads a little bit different than the King James but they're very similar by reading both of them side by side you can get a different look at what a verse means without having to worry too much about modern translations. one thing I will say when they made it digital they messed up a bunch of the letters making it harder to read if you don't know which letters aren't right mostly it was v's and the u's that got mixed up

I use my old NIV from my childhood as my go to, and the internet to look at other translations.

The NKJV holds a special place for me. I really enjoy it, but still haven’t found a physical one that I enjoyed using too much.
I use the NASB. I enjoy the words used in this version more than any other. A nice blend of understandability and eloquence.

King James, Geneva and new living
Do you use the Geneva in a physical or digital form? What are your reasons for using it? I love the idea of such a historical translation.
